Character Info
Profile
A pilot from Anchorage, Alaska, Madelyne Pryor is an incumbent to the New York scene. She's heard good things about this Charles Xavier Institute and has arrived to see what they can teach her about these strange powers that sit at the forefront of her mind. Previously, she was a pilot. Now? Who knows. There is a lot of self discovery to be had. She hopes, however, to find stability... and potentially family.
Timeline
Timeline:
(*) 2005 - Madelyne Pryor is created, and incubated into maturity from tissue samples stolen
from a young Jean Grey following the incident with Annie Richardson.
(*) 2012 - Within
incubation, Madelyne Pryor reaches full maturity, but with no signs of mutant ability. Her project
is placed on the backburner.
(*) 2015 - Within incubation, Madelyne Pryor begins to stir on
her own.
(*) 2017 - As the Phoenix Force is expelled from Jean Grey, the incubator containing
Madelyne Pryor shatters! She arises from her glass prison confused and terrified, with memories of a
full life but no memories of the area she's awoken in, and with power beyond her own comprehension.
It is a short-lived experience before she loses consciousness again. She awakens later in a bed that
she recognizes as her own, in a life that she believes that she's lived, in Anchorage,
Alaska.
(*) 2018 - Madelyne Pyror is living a successful life as a pilot. Her powers remain
subdued on a large scale, but she recognizes her own unusual knack for being able to finish the
sentences of others, and keen intuition on people in general.
(*) 2019 - Madelyne Pryor's
abilities begin to emerge in a more concrete way, not fully, but shred by shred. In the process of
self-discovery, she is discovered by Charles Xavier through Cerebro.
(*) 2020 - Madelyne
Pryor arrives in New York, ready to meet with Charles Xavier.

Personality
Determination:
Some might call it pure stubbornness--and they wouldn't exactly be wrong--but Madelyne is a
strong-willed spirit. Determined. Driven. Feisty! She doesn't take shit from anyone, and when she
has something to say she is not afraid to speak up. She doesn't know how to conceive of being
beaten, or how to stay down and give up. Woe to the person who decides to stand in her way of
something she's decided she wants.
Reserved:
Madelyne Pryor is a closed book. She keeps her distance and utilizes it against people who would
see it gone. Some part of this might have to deal with the peculiarities of her history and
situation. It might have to deal with the fact that she's recently discovered she has mutant
abilities. And it just might be an inherent part of her persona. Regardless of the reasons, she has
them.
Character Sheet
Powers
Telekinesis:
Her telekinesis is powerful enough that Madelyne can move, lift, and manipulate fairly large
objects, channel her telekinetic powers to fire powerful, mental, concussive blasts, focus her
psionic energy into a near-impenetrable force fields, and levitate herself in order to fly at fairly
high speeds.
Telepathy:
Madelyne can read and manipulate the minds of others and even higher-order animals within a vast
radius. Her notable powers include:
(*) Telepathic Cloak - She can mask her presence from
being detected by others. Her abilities can, at times, go undetected or be counteracted by more
powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. She can
extend these defenses to others around her as well.
(*) Psionic Shield - She has the ability
to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others' minds.
(*) Telepathic
Camouflage - She has the ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her.
She can telepathically disguise herself, making her appearance to those around her quite different
(changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).
(*) Mind Control -
She has the ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration.
(*) Mind
Possession - She has the ability to possess the mind of another, and use that beings body as her
own.
(*) Mind Alteration - She has the ability to alter minds of others by force of will,
changing their personality partially or entirely.
(*) Telepathic Illusions - She has the
ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not
actually occurring.
(*) Mental Paralysis - She has the ability to induce temporary mental or
physical paralysis.
(*) Psionic Blasts - She can project psionic force bolts which have
no physical effects but can affect a victim's mind so as to cause pain, or unconsciousness.
Skills
Piloting:
Madelyne is a highly skilled pilot with private aircrafts.
Technology:
Madelyne has a natural affinity for computers and technology in general. It is easy for her to
learn new and adapt to new systems and advanced technologies.
Resources
Nest Egg:
Saving money for the past three years, Madelyne Pryor has saved up a sizeable amount of money to
make the move toward New York City.
Weaknesses
Alone:
Ultimately, Madelyne has only herself to rely upon, which isolates her as a character. Without
organization or affiliations, or previous training on how to use her mutant abilities, she is in a
place of vulnerability.
Instability:
Madelyne's life lacks stable surface for her to cling to, and it affects her own mental
stability. Life moves rapidly and she's barely able to stay on her own feet in lieu of rushing
rapids that would drag her down the stream.

Social Studies Workshop: The New Human Is Illegal | May 26th, 2024 | Presentations from J'onn J'onnz, Jaxon Blain, Mystique, Mary Seward, Scott Summers, and Bishop; and comments from Natasha Romanova and Sally Pride all serve to help educate all present on just a few of the many perspectives on the violent history of Mutantkind, and how - if at all - a path forward might be forged for them-- and, indeed, ALL of humanity:
J'onn discusses the death of the Martian race, consumed by hatred between parallel subspecies; Jaxon gets lots of attention for sharing his dark past with William Stryker and illuminating the ways in which people of all kinds fail one another; Mystique demonstrates why she's one of Mutantkind's oldest, hardest voices by pledging to spend the rest of her long life fighting for it; Mary shows why she's the Queen of Blood, and shares the vampiric perspective on coexistence; Scott Summers puts a lifetime of PowerPoint expertise on display by laying out the cold, hard stats animating the bloody history of Humans and Mutants; Bishop reveals his past in one of our futures to stress the importance of coming together before the nightmares come to fruition; Sally reminded everyone that all people have /some/ things in common, while Natasha's cold cynicism shines through her insistence that tribal isolation and self-interest are the natural state of humanity. Madelyne gets a peek into a relatively quiet moment inside of her new community, Talia reflects on the twisting possibilities she's lived through and the way that war touches all of them, Camille studies passionately then swears to take Stryker's eyes one day, Rogue keeps rowdy Institute students in check, and Micola shares a brief moment with her sister-in-law.
