Date of Scene: 28 February 2023
Location: The Wick
Synopsis: Another day in the life of TALES OF THE BODY SWAPPERS
Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, Dawn Granger, Hank Hall, Dinah Lance, Caleb Dykstra

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mondays. The bane of bars and nightclubs everywhere. Not quite as bad as Sundays but considerably worse than Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. But at least it's not as bad as Tuesday.

Wednesday is cool though.

Either way, the man who sits at Mike's usual table is not here to party. Instead he is having the usual sandwich, the usual drink, and is looking into the usual notebook that Mike commonly uses.

Except this is not Mike. It is Bruce Banner. And for those who know the dear Doctor, he seems.... off. Instead of the collared shirt and sensible pants, he's switched over to a comfortable second hand shirt and- sensible pants.

Let's be honest. Pants shopping is a pain.

The restaurant is pretty quiet. What with it being Monday.

Dawn Granger has posed:
While Dawn Granger has tried to simply stay close to the Titan's Tower while being temporarily piloting someone else's body, it's hard to spend that long and not go stir crazy. Especially not when she's not fully sure how long she's going to be in said body. So, the statuesque dark haired Divine heads into the Wick. Thankfully, she's gotten a nice long black coat to at least look slightly less awkward in Divine's style of clothing.

She looks behind her a bit as she heads inside, clearly talking with someone. "At least it's not a busy day, right?"

Hank Hall has posed:
"Could be worse, I suppose," replies Hank Hall, walking alongside Divine. He seems close enough to her to appear to be familiar, but he is not exactly touching her - like he is trying to keep his distance without looking like he is keeping his distance - fly casual. He is also finding himself looking up towards her, which seems to be a bit of an odd perspective for him. "But at least this place is quiet, and we're not likely to run into anyone."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance pulls up to the bar on her motorcycle, with her helmet on and wearing her biker civvies as she comes to a stop. She pulls off her helmet and lets her long blonde hair spill out and then shakes it into place before tucking the helmet underneath her arm and making her way into the Wick.

Pausing at the entrance she notices the several candles and guesses that is where it gets it name from. Still she just wants to relax and grab a pint so she goes up to the bar and sets her helmet on top of it and waits for the bartender before ordering a pint of lager and a burger with fries. She got a long trek back to gothem ahead of her and she ain't going to do it on a empty stomach.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Well, at least some sense of self in this shindig, because at least Caleb is not body-swapped with anyone. Seriously, can you imagine all the notes he'd have to give a person to have them still act like themselves and keep his identity swap away from prying eyes? And take care of his family? And all the other things for a mob boss?

At least /that/ headache is avoided, thank you very much!

But it's to relax from all the headaches that he steps into the bar, looking for a nice long drink to smooth the remainder of the day. He glances around, taking in the environment and casually glancing at the patrons; nobody he recognizes... Yet. So, he proceeds to head towards the bar. A beer would sound just about nice...

Michael Hannigan has posed:
One WOULD think that they won't run into anyone in a less than crowded bar. But being the one other time Mike ran into someone was here during the quiet times-Well, there's a pattern of convenient timing here.

Must be from the mystics that like to chill in here from time to time. It's definitely not the college crowd that's responsible.

Either way, when the figure of Divine comes in, the Bodyswapped scientist glances over, head cocking to the side. Considering he saw her in that dream gone wrong...

A cautious hand lifts up, waving to the quasi-couple.

Dawn Granger has posed:
Some people, unfortunately, are left with dealing with headaches. For the most part, other than the flight issues and an awkward dance, Dawn has avoided having too much difficulty in Divine's body. As she strides forward to look for a table, she pauses when she notes Mike. Well, Banner. That's a face she /doesn't/ know. She cautiously looks in Hank's direction to see if he has any idea what's going on. She quickly averts her gaze elsewhere in case he was just being friendly, and offers an awkward smile in passing to Dinah.

Mondays, right?

Hank Hall has posed:
One of the traits of a good cop is situational awareness. While staying close to Divine Dawn, he keeps his attention on the room, so he catches the wave from Mike in the body of Doctor Banner. He laughs to himself, and shakes his head as he nudges Divine Dawn in the ribs. "Hey, babe, you'll never guess," he starts, before noting that she caught the wave too. He nods over in that direction and returns the wave. "I won't ask why Dr. Bruce Banner is waving at you," he says with a quiet murmur. "But I'll take a guess at why."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance minds her own damn business look a good paying customer. She taps her fingers on the bar as she waits for her drink and food, when the pint is put down in front of her she then picks it up and takes a drink from it and then sits down and just looks at her lager. She runs a hand through the blonde hair and then glances over at some of the folks who come in but none of them look too interesting so she goes back to slightly glaring at the bar.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb waves the bartender, and gets a beer soon afterwards. leaning against the counter for a moment, he scans the room again, this time in a much better position to see who's who.

It's then that his eyes fall upon Dinah, the florist from the other day. Huh. He raises his beer to her in a small, controlled motion in a gesture of hello.

And, continueing to look, he spots another familiar face - that of Divine. The same Divine who said before Power Girl was her sister; though she's doing her own thing, right now, so he just presents a polite smile and raises his beer to her, mouthing a small 'hey'.

He looks at Banner - well Michael - but doesn't recognize him; same with Hank.

He takes a sip of his beer. It feels good.

Dawn Granger has posed:
"Dr. Banner? Oh, is /that/ what he looks like?" Divine says, though she is trying to keep her voice low. "Huh. I never would have guessed." Low voices are a little different with different vocal chords, and Dawn's not used to the sound of her own voice yet. Well, not /her/ voice. She raises a hand in an awkward wave in Dr. Mike Banner's direction, then leans over towards Hank.

"Do I just go up and talk to him? I'm really out of my element here. I feel like I'm on a blind date that I didn't even know I was going on." She clears her throat a little, about to say something else to Hank when she notices Caleb's giving her a greeting too. She smiles, again a little awkwardly, then turns to the bar momentarily.

"Uh, something strong please. Like, really strong. A shot of /something/, the worse the burn the better," she orders from the bartender, her fingers lightly tapping the bar in nervousness as she waits for the drink.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike lowers Banner's hand as Dawn does the look away. As Hank looks over to Bruce, seemingly amused, he gives a slight shrug, glancing back to the avoidant power girl clone body squatter. As Caleb waves to Divine, the FASHIONABLY DRESSED Banner glances to him. A brow lifting as he recognizes him. And yet, he does not wave to him.

He looks back over to Dawnvine but as her back turns to him, he sighs, reaching over to pickup his Guinness to sip.

Hank Hall has posed:
Despite the fact that it is not actually Dawn that is attracting all of the looks, it sets Hank on edge. Not that he is not used to men giving Dawn looks, of course, too. But then he can usually slide an arm around her, and they stop. But right about now, he can just walk alongside her. He looks over at Caleb, frowning slightly, before he looks back to Banner. He leans in towards Divine Dawn and murmurs towards her. "Pretty sure he recognizes you. Or her, or whatever. I say we go over and say hi. You can tell him that you were grinding with his body at the Hellfire Club. See if that will bring the green guy out." Hank grins a bit.

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance ignores Caleb, she really doesn't want to make a habit of dealing with mobster. She glances to where all the people seem to be looking and stares at Dr. Bruce Banner and then tilts her head. Man looks familiar, she never really kept up with the Avengers, she was always so busy with the people of gothem that she didn't have time. Her attention is grabbed when her food is delivered and she looks down at her burger and picks it up and takes a bite out of it. She chews it thoughtfully before swallowing it and picking up one of those french fries and biting into it.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Dinah ignores Caleb, and Caleb doesn't mind; it's likely she doesn't even remember him, it passes his mind. Though he does give her a lingered glimpse for an extra second, in case she'd remember him.

But it doesn't seem like it's meant to be, so he turns his attention back to Dawnvine. "I'm sorry to ask, but...", he starts, but makes a conscious effort to lower his voice, "Does alcohol even work for you types?" And, as he clearly sees that Hank knows Dawnvine, he nods politely, raising his voice back to normal levels. "Hey there. I'm Caleb."

Dawn Granger has posed:
Dawnvine turns her gaze to Hank and gives him a sharp look. "There was no grinding involved and you know it," she says. "And /he/ ran into /me/. It's not my fault she's so... Rubenesque." As the bartender slides her a shot of something, she quickly throws her head back and swallows it, then frowns. "Damn, just as I thought. Not strong enough."

She slides the shot glass back across the bar to the bartender with a polite nod. Dawnvine looks to Caleb, smiling at him genuinely. "No," she agrees. "It really doesn't."

Turning about face, she quickly heads in the sylish Banner's direction, helping herself to a seat across from him without really even asking. "Hi, I'm not sure we've met yet, well, not entirely."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
As Caleb ends up being the first to address him, Mike ends up looking over to Caleb once more. When the sip is finished, he follows it up with speaking "...Hello Caleb." He replies back, setting the glass down. "I'm..." He pauses. "People call me Bruce."

As Dawn sits down before him, Mike slides back in his seat, relaxing against it as he looks to Dawnvine's... eyes.

"I think we have. Although it could have been a weird dream. I wonder how many people have been having those. Have you been feeling a bit off recently? Like you haven't been yourself recently?"

Hank Hall has posed:
There is definitely a bit of a mean mug directed at Caleb by Hank. Reflex, of course. He shouldn't care who hits on Divine. At least for the moment.

He follows along with Divine Dawn and slides into a seat next to her, inclining his head to Mike. "Doctor Banner," he says quietly. But otherwise, he remains silent, allowing the two of them to discuss. He knows he cannot contribute much here.

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance eats a couple of french fries, takes a few bites out of her burger, and then takes a couple of swigs of beer as she listens to the chatter in the bar. She reaches into her pocket and checks her cellphone curiously seeing if she had any messages from Ollie or the other Birds and then puts it away and sighs. Been awhile since she has seen the big Green Goof and she wonders how he is doing. She once more spares a glance over at Banner who seems to be attracting his own crowd.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Hey sorry, man", Caleb raises his hands apologetically as the briefly flashed look from Hank is noticed. "Didn't mean anything by it."

So what does he do? He steps away from the counter and disappears into the crowd of patrons, becoming one with the background.

Truly a ninja, he is!

Dawn Granger has posed:
"Dr. Bruce Banner, nice to meet you in the flesh," Dawnvine smiles. It's definitely a joke, intentionally trying to break some of the tension. "Yeah, definitely not felt like myself." She glances over her shoulder for a brief moment. "I have to admit this has been an interesting situation so far." She glances to Hank, then to Mike again. "I don't know if you've been in contact with anyone else who has similar dreams and headaches? I've met... well, Dr. Banner."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
The well dressed Mike in Bruce watches as Caleb makes his exit before looking back over towards Dawnvine and then to Hank. "Guessing from Hank being here I know which one ended up here."

"I hope he's not getting myself into any more trouble." Mike gives a sigh before he looks over to Devine's body. "So, any chance you found any others? We're trying to figure out who got affected so the one responsible can clean up her mess."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance finishes up her burger and pint and then takes a moment to look at the bill. She starts doing mental math on the tip before reaching into her jacket and producing a wallet that is on a chain and then count out the money and places it on the bar before downing her beer.

Hank Hall has posed:
"Oh, he got an _eyeful_ alright," replies Hank, with a bit of a grin, as he glances at Dawn Divine, and then back at Mike. "But yeah, he was well behaved, as far as I know. I haven't met the man, but I've heard he's a decent fellow. You're lucky you're not trading places with, you know..." He leans forward. "That dick Cyborg." Ah, Hank. Let it go already.

"Dawn's body is currently occupied by an Avenger, and she's helping them figure out what's going on as near as we can tell."

Dawn Granger has posed:
"Banner may have literally run into me on the dance floor," Dawn says, sheepishly, though she sideyes Hank at that. "He was very polite, yes, and was making sure not to do anything questionable with your body. Except dancing. Pretty sure he's not used to doing that a lot?" She can't help but grin, then looks to Hank. "Bruce is very sweet, a little hard on himself, but sweet."

Dawn focuses on Mike again. "Yeah, we currently know where mine is, but... Divine," she gestures at herself, "is still not to be found. I don't know where she ended up and I'm pretty sure her actual family is a little concerned about that." She gives Hank a tiny nudge. "Cyborg's not that bad, you two are just very hardheaded and opinionated and you can't have too much of that in one room," Dawn says, the tone affectionate.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
An Avenger? But the only other ones he saw were Jen who is now Johnny and- "Greer?" Mike asks, tone a bit curious. He pauses, "I might be staying at the mansion while they figure this shit out but I get the general sense I'm being kept out of the loop for a lot of things. They're just tip-toeing around me worried I'll go green and nuke the place or something. " He shakes his head, lifting his glass "I'm... not a fan of a few of them."

He takes a sip from the glass, listening to Dawn's addition to her situation summary. The glass sets down. "Well. When you woke up in another body, what did you do first? Bruce realized I lived next door to Jen so he went to her first. I called Wade. Maybe she did something similar. You know who she is, maybe she contacted someone she knows."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah Lance picks up her helmet and then walks out of the bar, she goes over to her motorcycle and then puts her helmet on and then raises the kick stand and turns the engine on before she drives off.

Dawn Granger has posed:
Dawn-in-Divine shakes her head a bit. "I mean, when I woke up I panicked and basically tried to figure out how to fly so I could go find Hank," she smiles slightly in the man's direction before continuing, "though I did get lucky later. I met Superwoman, who she's a relative of, by good fortune. She didn't know anything had happened, and it sounds as if she hasn't contacted any of her 'relatives' of that nature," she muses. Dawn laughs a little after a moment. "I ran into Bruce dancing because I was hoping to actually find someone who knew Divine since she was apparently at this particular nightclub a week ago. If she contacted someone she was close to, it wasn't her family."

Hank Hall has posed:
Shaking his head a bit, Hank chuckles. "It was a very strange day, to say the least." He nods in agreement with Mike. "Tigra, yeah. Ironic, going from cat to bird, but..." He taps at the table idly. "It was a pretty interesting conversation, actually." He turns to look at Divine. "When we have a chance, I'll fill you in." He had not yet mentioned to what extent he had spent time with Tigra in Dawn's body that first day. But then his attention is back to Mike. Bruce. "And then she came and attacked me on the roof, and I broke some poor woman's nose for calling her a liar."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike considers, "While my main reason to call Wade was because he might wake up to a stranger for a roommate, he's also involved with my film schedule. He had to move things around to make sure Bruce didn't have to show up to set or a recording session. So, you can imagine how some people felt when they got delayed due to a personal emergency only to find some posts where it looks like I was out partying."

There's a hint of irritation to the man's voice as he frowns. He pauses, taking a deep breath before shaking his head again. "...oh well."

BACK ON TOPIC.

"Well, back to topic, I also called Wade for work reasons. What about work for her? Did you check her place of employment, if she's got any? Maybe they remember a panicky person afraid of losing their job?"

Dawn Granger has posed:
"I'm sure I've got people wondering why I didn't show up to dance classes, and Superwoman suggested I talk to Emma Frost, who I believe is her employer. She didn't seem to fond of Ms. Frost though, so I'm wondering how that conversation's going to go," Dawnvine glances back to Mike. "I guess being that high profile comes with its downsides, certainly."

She looks to Hank, leaning against him /just/ slightly. "You were understandably upset, and I'm sure things will blow over just fine," she says, positively.

Hank Hall has posed:
"I am pretty sure that witch broke my phone," mutters Hank, although he seems to relax a bit as he feels Divine lean against him. It may not be the same as Dawn, but somehow, it still soothes him having her close. He looks to Mike. "Do the Avengers have any ideas on how this happened, or more importantly, how to undo it?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike nods, giving a frown, "Yes they do on both counts. We just need to find everyone effected first. Which means, you probably will have to speak to Emma Frost."
