The Traditional Kitchen Raid
Date of Scene: 11 April 2023
Location: Main Kitchen
Synopsis: Marie, Emma, and Franklin introduce Mary to a time-honored Xaviers tradition. Raiding the kitchen!
Cast of Characters: Marie-Ange Colbert, Franklin Richards, Emma Frost, Mary Bromfield

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
It was going to happen eventually.

Marie's been having a guest on-campus more and more often in the past weeks. Those who attended her 21st birthday party -- or have simply known the girl for a long time -- would likely recognize the brunette as the redhead's girlfriend... and, as couples do, they've been spending a considerable amount of time together.

Never /inside/ the Mansion proper, though. Not until tonight.

"Wait until you see it, mon cherie. I swear, the first time I saw it, it was like I had walked into a market where everything was free!" The French girl gossips to the other girl, grinning from ear to ear. "...and I /know/ there will be more than enough ice cream to go around. There always is. It cures all problems, non?"

It's later in the evening, so there's less residents milling about than usual. Some study. Some went to bed early. Marie? She's escorting Mary into the infamous Xavier's kitchen, making a bee-line to the refrigerators. Why?

...she ran out of ice cream in /her/ fridge. Plus, sometimes it's just nice to come out and see people!

Franklin Richards has posed:
In the kitchen hand up in the cabinnet as he is delivering some sugar cookies. He had been sneaking in sugar cookie trying to keep it a secret though people kept finding out as it was a busy kitchen. The little sugar cookies, were all shapped like little fours, and covered in a light blue, and black frosting. He always told people he bought them at the store, but the truth was he made them at home to practice his cooking, and brought what he made here as he thought it was always his favorate thing his mom made when he was young so could bring some of that here. He would never admut that, so from the store they came, but right now he was putting up a couple of cases of cookies so they would be 'found' later.

He freezes when others enter as maybe movement will make him visable as Marie heads to the Refridgerator. He says nothing for now, just not moving there standing very quietly waiting for a chance to move again, and sneak away though he thinks they might of already spotted him.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma has been spending some time about the Mansion as of late. For her own affairs and concerns. And her own little side projects. Some things of her outside of the Mansion having been finished.. People move on, it seems. So as she geos to glance about, she goes to happen upon the familiar mentla sensation of Marie-Ange coming in to the kitchen along with someone else.

That takes Emma anotehr moment to identify as the lovely dear that Marie-Ange showed off at her birthday party. Emma Frost goes to smile, "Why hello Marie-Ange, Mary." She would bow her head to the two entering. "I thought I would get the two of you something to enjoy together." Emma goes towards her purse to take out a small box.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary laughs a bit, "Well, as long as you won't get in trouble for having me along for the ride. I know you guys take it seriously..." She grins at Marie, letting the redhead lead her along as she doesn't really expect to see anyone...

Which is why Emma takes her by surprise, "Oh, Miss Frost, hello, I... wow. You didn't have to do that, I mean, it's..." She blinks, taken by surprise, then coughs a bit, "Sorry, it's very nice to see you again, though." She absently places her hand on Marie's arm, quite likely for moral support as she either doesn't see Franklin lurking, or has enough experience with little brothers to let Franklin think the lurking is successful.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie shakes her head, smiling brightly. "I will not. Private schools may be... strict... in their rules, but I know the rules." Marie's a stickler for them. She values her place among the crowd at Xavier's, just as she values her placec with Mary. The more those two spaces can interact, the happier she is, really.

"Monsieur Franklin!" Sorry, Frankie. Marie has no siblings to help let her not see you! "It is good to see you back at the school once again." and there's "Madame Frost!" she does scoot over to give Emma a quick hug in greeting, because, well, she's become a hugger with the people closest to her. "I mean... you did not have to... but it is most lovely of you to think of us so!"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Of course, I don't have to. But Marie-Ange is a dear friend that you have made as happy as I've ever seen her. So please, do take this as something I thought teh two of you might appreciate." Emma goes to pass out the small package over to Marie-Ange. Inside is an old, old hardcover book. 'The Secret Garden'. For the contrary. May thier garden grow.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Frozen there for a moment he thinks he has done it he has mastered the arts of moving so slowly it is inprecivable. Then Marie greets him, and he lowers his head with a "Dang it..." though smiles, and nods to Marie. "Hello Marie, wasn't it? Would you like some cookies?" he pulls out once box since he is reaching anyway, and grins. "Someone.. brought these store bought cookies. Plenty enough to share." and looks back to see she brought company. "Oh sorry.. I mean that for everyone." he nods to Mary, and thinks she looked familer but places down the box where they could take some if they wanted.

"Miss. Frost!" he says like he got caught surprised to see her, "I.. didn't know you were coming, there is more then one in there." he notes moving to the table to sit down nerviously.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, that means a lot, Miss Frost. And she definitely makes me happier than I've ever been." She reaches out and squeezes Marie's hand in hers, looking at her fondly, then she looks back at Emma.

"We're planning on getting an apartment together this summer, since my current roommate is moving out, and well, it seems like a good step for us to take together." She smiles warmly, then glances over at Franklin curiously, since Marie-Ange pointed him out. "Hi, I'm Mary, I don't think we've met... Franklin?"

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie knows Franklin's a bit of a tricksy one. Ever since the first time she met him and she and Kurt were the only ones who were able to see him in a crowd full of people.... but, apprantly Emma and Mary can both see him, too, which is a plus! The feigned not knowing who she is gets a little grin, "Marie it is, oui, and that would be lovely!" She's had the cookies before. They're rather good! Definitely better than her own attempts at baking, though not for lack of trying. Then Mary introduces herself, and Marie blushes, beaten to the punch. "Oui. This is Mary, my breathtaking girlfriend." No shame at all in saying it. Flattering /others/ is easy!

As she's handed the box, she moves to set it down on a surface so that she can carefully open it -- Marie's always very gentle with presents. She was never the kid who tore open wrapping paper on Christmas morning! As she pulls it open, though, she smiles brightly. "Oh, how lovely! I have heard of this story before, but have not gotten to read it, yet. Merci beaucoup, Madame Frost!" ...and then Mary break the news, and Marie blushes. "Oui, as she said. As soon as the school semester is over, we will be moving in together. It is very exciting!" It can be heard clearly in her voice. "--not that I am dropping out again, though. I will continue to attend classes, just commuting now." Her support system is intact. Stronger than ever, even.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma glances over at Franklin, "And it is somewhat rude, Mister Richards, to wander about in the school in such a state." She would deadpan. "You're putting yourself at risk that way if some of the studetns decide to try and set you on fire or whatever they might do. That means you're not quite paying enough attention to get out of the blast radius in time. And that might worry your family just a little bit." She would smile over at him and Mary.

"And I come and go here. I'm not a.. Teacher or of any sort of faculty, I occasionally lend a hand." And money. "So it's quite lovely to run into friends here. And I'm pleased to get to see you again, Mary." Emma's being rather relaxed today.

She would smile. "I thought you would like it, Marie-Ange. It seems very much something you would enjoy. It's the French version." Emma knows that Marie-Ange's English is still coming along, despite her great strides.. So somehting she could read with ease is meant as a comfort offering.

"And congratulations, darlings! If I'd known you were moving in together I would have gotten something more substantial." LIke a house or something.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Franklin sighs, and nods to Emma. "It is the best time.. No-one is usually around especially in the kitchen." he admits, as he was pretty sure Emma knew it was him bringing the cookies. "Though if safty is your concern." he grins a bit with a flex. "I am a bit stronger then I look." and chuckles, as physically even flexing he does not look intimidating. "I will becareful though thank you for your concern, and forgive my surprise you deserve to be here more then I do." he grins a bit at Emma suddenly, "And I think if you had to listen to Chumbawamba over and over you would find ways of sneaking somewhere else as well.

With a chuckle he nods "Franklin Richards" he gives a wave to Mary. "Fantastic four, inventor, suddle bragger, and card carring member of A.S.S Alien Sightings in Starling" and chuckles a bit as he jokes around a little. That last group was created because of him on accident, but he liked it so much he printed out a card that had A.S.S. on it with his name below it as he found it funny. He looks at Marie, and nods they had ran into each other a bit, but he smiles a bit. "Mary, and Marie... It is like you were made for each other." he nods to Mary "I don't mean to pry is she like.. us?" he chuckles a bit not sure how much to say.

Franklin was always bad at these parts, as everyone and their secrets piled up. He had other things to remember as engineering, and science.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles at the book once Marie has unwrapped it, and chuckles, "You are the exact opposite of me with wrapping, Marie." She mmms at the book, and smiles gratefully over at Emma, "Thank you! It's lovely, and... well, I appreciate it, truthfully."

Though, at Franklin's offer of cookies, she smiles, "And sure, I think they'd go pretty well with ice cream, don't you think Marie?" She gives the redhead a curious glance, then looks over at Franklin and Emma, then at Marie. "I'm... well, I'm not *exactly* like you guys, if you mean what I think you're meaning. But I've got some... special talents. Besides beating noobs at Elden Ring on my stream, anyway." She laughs a little at that.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"Well... Mary only asked me a couple days ago -- and of course I agreed. The two of you are the first people beside her brother to learn of this." Marie replies, smiling brightly. Emma's observation is spot-on; Marie's not generally an unhappy person, but in Mary's presence? It shifts into a gear that even she didn't really know existed. Mary gets a hug, now, along with a peck on the cheek. "We just have to find the right place, n'est-ce pas?"

While her friends are speaking with her beloved, Marie turns to accomplish her original mission... fishing a carton of mint chocolate chip out of the freezer. It's about the time that she gets the lid off that Franklin speaks her name and she's caught like a deer in headlights. "I believe we were... but as you know, I have believed in fate for a long time."

As for that /other/ question? Well. Marie's grateful that Mary speaks up first! She'll leave it at that, though, and see if the others wish to share their own secrets, just smiling to herself. "Would anyone else care for ice cream with their cookies? I can get bowls..." ...was she planning on eating it right out of the carton?

No. Of course not. This is Marie we're talking about.

...she was going to use a cookie as a spoon, like any dignified person.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Lovely. Have you picked a place out yet? If not, please do let me help. I happen to have some.. Connections in the real estate business. Would you care for anywhere with a view? At the center of the city, perhaps? I'm sure that you've seen quite a few movies.. IF there's any skyscrapers you happen to think look pretty?" Marie-Ange of course will have not the slightest clue as to what is going on, beyond Emma is being nice! Mary, whom is not used to the obscenely rich people making such casual offers, may not pick up on the meaning either.

Franklin, thatis familiar over with such things, may very well be aware of the danger signs that such an offer might come with, and all the signals. "I know quite a few, I'm sure I could help if anywhere caught your fancy."

At the mention of 'special talents' Emma would ahh. "Quite a few here do."

Franklin Richards has posed:
Standing up Franklin walks to Mary, and holds a hand out. "My family is like that, so I get it. Though there are a lot of good people out there without powers, so forgive me for my curiousity." and smiles, "And your right, but frozen items don't make the trip well." he admits. As Marie finds some in the freezer Franklin turns to look at Mary, "You stream games? Like for a job?" he smiles a bit, "I wonder what that is like." he thinks about it as he hasn't actually had a job before as it was more a twenty four seven hero thing since birth. If it wasn't training, or learning everything they had prepaired him for was what he was doing, and that wasn't a job really to him.

Looking at Marie, since he is already standing he moves back to search for bowls. He wasn't that familer with the place, but would find them sooner or later. He turns back to face Emma with a smile, "You have a good heart, these two prove it. Don't loose sight of that," and nods to her again not answering her question.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "Well, I mean, I'm not going to turn down any help in that regard, that's for sure! They technically /pay/ something at the Planet with internships, but it isn't a whole heck of a lot, admittedly." She is definitely not used to the level that Emma is talking about, as a working class foster kid from Philly.

She smiles warmly over at Marie, "And I would absolutely love some ice cream with the cookies, I think that'd be perfect." She looks over at Emma, and gives her a nod, "And yeah, I don't mind sharing the secret with you two, since you seem trustworthy and Marie trusts you, but... I'm not used to being too open about those things." She looks a bit sheepish about that. "But yeah, it's definitely a family thing for me too, Franklin. And yeah, streaming is not much of a job, but it's a lot of fun and I love doing it. I dunno if I could make a career out of it though." She takes the offered hand from Franklin, shaking it firmly but in a friendly way. "Actually, Franklin, my brothers do a podcast, and I bet they'd love to have you on there as a guest."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie shakes her head a little, "Not yet... we have not been out to look, yet." Marie admits, bowing her head a little. "Ideally, somewhere close to my job... oh! And we must have at least one other room that Mary can use for her streaming." There's a smile offered over towards Mary, here. "The patrons at the Club often tip well. Between the two of us, I am certain we will be able to afford something... so please let us know if your connections find something we might be able to afford, Madame Frost. It would be most appreciated."

Even having been in Emma's company as long as she has? Marie doesn't /expect/ these things. It's just not her nature.

Well. Secrets are out now! At least partially. Marie's glad for this -- she's not one who particularly /likes/ secrets. She knows why they're important, but in an ideal world she'd have none.

As Marie goes to collect bowls for those who wanted ice cream, she grins over her shoulder at Franklin. "For a long time, I thought Mary was one of those people. When Brainiac was threatening to destroy us, I told her about me to make sure she could be safe -- away from me if needed." It turned out that she didn't need /that/ at all. Scoops are deposited, bowls are served! "Bon appetit!" .../now/ she's dipping the sugar cookie into the ice cream. Crunch!

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile over at Marie-Ange. "Don't worry, I can find somewhere appropriate. I can get you a few tours of places and then you can decide where you both feel right. I'll just need a day or two to make some arrangemetns and ensure I have a proper company setup if you find any of them to be to your preference so they can be made ready for you to move in. It's always a pleasure to see your smile so bright, Marie-Ange."

Emma glances over at Mary, "Oh, they pay interns now? Perry must be going soft if you're given any sort of wage. I hope at least it's not covering your expenses for the job." Emma apparently does know the rather famed editor of the Planet. Emma's not prying over to whatever the secret is. That's for the girls tos hare if they feel like they want. Emma's someone of ehr own secrets very, very much the same.

"Why thank you, Mister Richards." Emma gives him a smile. IT's still one taht's almost got sharkteeth to it.

Franklin Richards has posed:
He glances around a bit, "I am not supposed to show off my power, as people freak out, but how bout a show with your snack!" he walks to an empty chair, and pats the back of it with a hand, and then the whole back section sags over as if were made of rubber. "Parlor tricks I know, but the point is the same" as he has to use two hands, with one holding it back up, and the other to re-solidify it. "Cool right? I change the rules of reality." he explains with a chuckle like its nothing, though he was much more limited now he still had the ability if needed.

He gives a shrug, "Part of that is time so I am much like Marie, though without the card stuff." he grins and remembers what happened last time he tried Tarot. "Most people think it is Tk, so if you ever get asked just tell them that not this part." he admits as it was not totally public like much of his other life. Passing the bowls to Marie, he nods to Mary, "Sure, ask Marie for my number if ya can't find it though I am usually at the Baxtor building. Just set a time and I will be there."

He looks at Frost and smiles, with a nod. "What I do we come across some really bad people. You realise that everyone has a story, and if the heart is good they can be as well." he admits. "Though that Logan guy makes me wonder sometimes." and laughs joking around. He takes his bowl from Marie, "Thanks.. I haven't tried it like this before." and will now consider maybe adding other flavors that go with things. He would put that aside for now to eat quietly sitting in the chair that he repaired at the table.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary gives Marie a warm smile at the mention of Brainiac, "Oh, you should have seen me out by Jupiter. That was an amazing view." She chuckles very softly, sitting down with her ice cream and cookies next to Marie, "It was absolutely gorgeous. Especially when the lightning bolt slagged an enemy battlecruiser." Her eyes dance a bit as while she doesn't go into a lot of details about herself, she doesn't mind sharing a little bit about what she's done.

Mary then makes a face at Emma, "Well, /pay/ might be a bit much, but I think Mister White realizes that New York is more expensive than it used to be. Still, the other reporters are nice there, and treat me like a reporter and not just a coffee-fetcher. I had enough of that when I was working at the Coffee Bean." She grins at that memory.

Then she smiles a little at Franklin, "That's really... wow, that's something, for sure. I mean, I can do some pretty incredible things, but that's on a whole other level." She looks almost tempted to show off a bit, but decides to refrain, at least for the moment. Though Emma would definitely see a thunderbolt resonating in Mary's thoughts.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"That sounds most wonderful, Madame Frost. I am sure Mary and I can make some time this week to go see places... what do you think, my darling?" Marie asks of Mary -- not wanting to commit to anything without her girlfriend's approval.

Marie'd show off, too, but everyone /here/ has seen what she can do, in one form or another! So she just observes. Observes, and eats her ice cream. Using a cookie as a spoon is definitely new... but it's turning out to be quite tasty, and it's certainly not the /strangest/ thing thatt Marie has added to her ice cream! At the mention of getting his number from Marie, the redhead pipes up, "Oh! I can do that now. Un instant!" Bowl is momentarily set down so that she can dig out her phone -- quickly sharing the contact with Mary so that she can then share with her brothers.

Then, turning her attention fully to Mary... well. Her eyes go fairly wide. She's heard the story, of course, but it's still amazing to think about. "I can still hardly believe that you have been there... I know you would not lie to me, but..." she trails off, giggling softly. "Perhaps one day we can go together. Somehow."

Perhaps fate will find a way.

Franklin Richards has posed:
Sitting there his watch beeps, as he ignores it for a moment. "We will have to talk more Mary, you seem to be an interesting person. If you are ever doing your thing around New York, and need help, let me know." he stands to return his ice-cream with almost a bite taken out of it to the freezer. He would sneak one cookie with ice-cream bite, but he was interupted before he could eat it. He turns to look at the tree and smiles, as he wishes he could spend more time here to learn more about them, but work called. "Sometimes.. I wish I could have a normal power, and not have to run off to solve whatever issue this is, but.. " he sighs knowing better as this was his life as it had always been.

He looks at Mary, then marie. "I truely hope you two are happy.. And try to keep Miss Frost out of trouble will you." he leans a bit so he can wink at Emma with a grin as he knew it was an impossible task. Standing up straight again he looks at Marie, "We will meet again. though I do not think it will be this relaxed." he looks at her. "You have been training, and you will need it soon. Good luck." turning he waves, and walks out of the Kitchen as he really turns invisable this time as a shield appears around him the door would 'mysteriously' open then close as Franklin flies off to go save the day hoping it is at least in space again this time, as those were usually the wierdest.
