Maximal Carnage - Spiders fighting Freaks
Date of Scene: 03 July 2023
Location: East Side
Synopsis: Symbiotes and Spiders team up against the crazed killer Carnage!
Cast of Characters: Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Andi Benton, Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady
Tinyplot: Maximum Carnage

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
As of the early morning, Carnage, symbiote tethered to the serial killer Cletus Kassidy, had broken free during a prison transfer and was going on a rampage throughout Manhattan, along with several other villains that had like magic been drawn to the area and spread out. Other heroes were responding and chasing them down. It made for complete chaos.
And swinging along is the big red killer himself! Going to leap down towards a large bus, hands forming to an axe as he would let out a loud whoop and holler!

Gwen Stacy has posed:
It's the first time Ghost Spider and Spider Man are out after that whole ordeal with Kraven. And of course it had to be Carnage of all people causing mayhem. One of the most deadly opponents they have faced before..

So it's with some worry that Ghost Spider is swinging between a pair of buildings, nearing the area where Carnage was going through his mayhem. "You sure we are up for this?" she asks, casting a look aside at Peter.

They would have to be, there was no one else to stop Carnage right now.

Peter Parker has posed:
Landing on the side of a building, Spider-man looks ahead. Not that he can _see_ Carnage, but he can _hear_ what is going on in the distance. Reflexively he rolls his arm around in its socket, reaching over to feel the muscles as they move, nodding slowly. "If not us, then who?" he asks Ghost Spider.

And with that, Spider-man swings into action, towards the chaos.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
They would have to be. Ready or not, Carnage would be slaughtering if not stopped. Some things you had to do because if you didn't people would pay the price. Carnage is going to split his hands over into pickaxes, moving to tear a giant hole in the roof of the bus, cackling.

"Heeerrreee'sss Johnny! I've always wanted to do this!"

Andi Benton has posed:
The morning has been too long already. Coming off a night that stretched further than expected, Andi was already on the verge of running on fumes if not for the added boost being bonded to an alien symbiote creates.

That didn't mean a little time to heal from a wound - and a brief nap - wasn't necessary. The symbiote side of her didn't like it. Hell, /she/ didn't like it, but they had to count on others to hold the fort until they could get back in the game.

It wasn't difficult to pinpoint where Carnage was. Just follow the chaos. Through use of webbing, Mania gets back in the swing of things, literally closing in on the scene that way.

<<Mania>> The screams, Andi.
<<Andi>> Yeah, I hear them. Ready for round two?
<<Mania>> Carnage must be stopped.
<<Andi>> Taking that as a 'yes.'

Seems this time, as far as spider-types go, they are not alone.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Venom heard the commotion in the local internet chatter, his twitter group and one of his local news bulletin boards breaking out. He did still try to be a reporter, now and then, for all the good it did. He had a hard time getting published, after all the shit at the Bugle, after everything that went wrong. Stupid kid Parker. Long time ago, water under the bridge, but...damn stupid Kid.

Once he realizes exactly who and what is on a rampage, Venom envelopes him in darkness and they're soon climbing across the rooftops and making their way to the danger zone. Eddie keeps an earpiece with the police scanner going on very low in one ear, the kind with dampening so any unexpected high decibels wouldn't emit. Provided they work the way they're supposed to, of course.

They peer down from above like a gargoyle, looking down on Carnage and the bus. Reaching over, he yanks off an air conditioning unit from the roof of the building, a massive industrial five ton monstrosity, hefting it overh is head and hurling it rather haphazardly at Casrnage. They don't really care that much about the innocent people. They just hate that scarlet thing, that monster, that...

"FREAK! DIE FREAK!"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
As Ghost Spider takes one last swing that brings her into sight of Carnage it doesn't take much to spot the others too. First Venom which makes her frown at first, perhaps fearing that there's a team up forming between them --- At least until she hears what Venom is screaming out. That takes care of -that- worry.

"Seems we may have some unlikely allies on our side, Spidey."

Another swing and Ghost Spider 'flies' through the air gracefully, spinning. And of course quipping, "I will be real with you, red. You got nothing on Nicholson.."

And she shoots a web towards Carnage in the hopes to glue him down to the ground!

Peter Parker has posed:
Frowning beneath the mask as Peter sees the battle has been joined, he takes in a deep breath and hopes that it is on their side, as it would seem to be.

Spider-man swings in after Ghost Spider, and launches some webbing behind Carnage at an already totaled car, yanking it forward to try to stun the creature while Ghost Spider tries to ensnare it. "Probably closer to lame Leto than Bale, too."

He laughs for a moment. "Think we can keep his head spinning with more slightly wrong pop culture references?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The sound of Venom charging at him has Carnage grinning with glee, flashing an array of ink-like shark teeth. "Why hello there daddies. We weren't expecting such fun. Thanks for coming at s uch an opportune time!" Mania is just a few moments behind charging in as Carnage goes to meet Venom over with the slash of an axe overhead! The webbing shot at him impacts for just a moment even as Carnage goes to tear right through it, barely being slowed down. He was a very, very fast psychopath. And -strong-!

The car hits him mid-leap, slowing him just by a few fractions of a second and throwing him off target as Venom went to leap down at him, Carnage trying to disembowel the two over right down the middle with a massive spike!

Andi Benton has posed:
<<Mania>> Look, Andi. It's him.
<<Andi>> Venom? Kinda hard to miss him going right after Carnage.
<<Mania>> We should help him.
<<Andi>> I'm not helping him. He doesn't want to try to be better. I'm trying to stop Carnage.
<<Mania>> It is complicated, Andi.
<<Andi>> Yeah, I know. Tell me more about it later.

That bit of internal discussion peters out by the time they're witness to Venom joining in by way of throwing a very heavy object toward Carnage and the bus. Might not be enough time to really help keep that from hurting anyone, but she does lay down a quick attempt at webbing over the roof of the bus itself, at least in parts where it looks weakened. Hopefully it helps, as the smaller Venom-like vigilante leaps in while hands reshape into scythes to swing at Carnage.

"Did you miss us? We were not done with you the first time!" comes a challenge while swinging at the blood-red enemy.

Ghost Spider and Spider-Man have been noticed, with the pair making their own efforts to help subdue Carnage, but no greetings are made yet. Maybe after.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Venom tucks in mid-air as he's coming down, arms whipping forward with apelike ferocity to try to drive laced hands ina massive fist across the red bastard's oversized jaw."

"WE NEVER LOVED YOU YOU WERE A MISTAKE! WE WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN! DIE!" Venom howls. Normally, Eddie and the symbiote are more in balance, but the Klyntaar's all-consuming hatred for its spawn, a nihilistic reversal of parental love marking the darkness of which they are born, howls uncontrollably out of Venom's maw.

Carnage's spike nicks the side of Venom's torso, letting out a spurt of blood as he unleashes one of his 'webs' lashing himself rapidly to draw him in to try and clinch with Carnage, the older symbiote like a rabid dog going for the throat.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Four one one. Almost unfair. But who said spiders fight fair? Specially against such an abomination as Carnage....

So there's no hesitation on Gwen as she carries on, joining the fray. Another webbing is shot and she arches over, ducking under that car thrown by Peter to come up from a dead angle to hit with both feet at Carnage! From behind!

Peter Parker has posed:
Watching as the car at least slows Carnage, Spider-man takes some satisfaction in that. Then he regards Venom's rambling with a bit of a tilted head. "Huh."

As some debris flies at his head, Spider-man ducks, all credit to his spider-senses, as his thoughts return to the battle raging in front of him. A reminder not to lose focus, of course.

Springing up from his perch, he starts flinging an array of webbing at Carnage. He is more than content to let Venom car-rage at the red symbiote from close quarters. Hurling strands of web fluid from a distance is safer.

So long as they can keep Carnage under wraps...

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
That's the thing. For however tough the webbing is piled on by Spidey.. Carnage is far, far stronger as he goes to keep on almost casually tearing through it as he goes to brawl with Venom! Mania goes to leap through the air, landing over on the back of Carnage as they would grapple with Venom! Carnage goes to catch Venom's fists over, stopping them mostly cold as the Spiders now have the risk of blasting at Carnage with webbing and /maybe/ taking their less than friendly neighborhood Venom in it too - as well as Mania as she would land on Carnage's back, he rscytehs digging into him!

Carnage is focused on trying to overpower Venom even as he would draw blood! A small extra limb would dart out, snapping a finger over it to draw it to his maw. "Tasty! We'lle njoy seeing how your brain tastes!" Spikes growing out of his back to try and slash over hard at Mania as she would slash deeply into him! Even as Spider-Ghost lands atop him and goes to smash into him, the inertia of her as well added to Mania going to open a huge gash on his back!

Andi Benton has posed:
There's only a momentary pause during the fight as both Mania and Venom go right in for the symbiote scuffle.

<<Andi>> Did he say Venom is his..dad?
<<Mania>> That is also complicated, Andi. We must focus. He will kill us if he can. He will eat your brain.

Sensing the urgency in the response, Andi's side of the bond grows silent as she too doubles down on concentrating. Carnage is doing spikes? Well, two can play that game. Mania has always featured spikes. It's part of the punk/goth motif.

A strengthening of the 'skin' follows, though as they battle in close quarters, blood is drawn on both sides. Venom's, too. There may be a little friendly fire there, some unintended damage in the quest to quell Carnage, but so be it.

Mania's own spiky areas are made use of as she wraps arms around Carnage's body, the scythes reshaping back to normal, at which point the spikes along her forearms extend sharply to pierce into Carnage's chest!

"We disagree with Venom on some things, but we know what you are like. You will be stopped!" If Carnage can be weakened, webbing him up might go more easily. At least this should give bystanders and those on the bus a chance to flee. The numbers game improves, but will the odds follow?

Eddie Brock has posed:
Venom is a snarlig mass of spikes in their own right, thrashing violently. The webbing likely adheres a bit to them, too, but they don't even care at the moment, almost barely notice. Except Mania, they notice Mania, up atove, another of their kind, no child this, no instinctive hatred, just a mutual loathing of Carnage and everythign it represents.

Venom responds with spikes of their own, doing anything to try to penetrate and punch through that armor, continouing to keep Carnage's hands busy warding off his clawing strikes. But its his head that does the most damage.

He jerks his head forward, stretching his neck and probably twisting somethign that'll take a while for Eddie to heal, tearing a few muscles in his neck as Venom snaps like an asp. Only instead of biting, it dives its massive, serpentine tongue forward and strikes it, trying to dive down Carnage's throat, attemptig to wedge into his esophagus to choke out the human most underneath the symbiote, trying to block any possible airway with the superstrong muscle of its extended tongue.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Ow. Spikes everywhere. And that makes Ghost Spider having to play her very own version of 'the floor is lava'. In which lava are spikes coming out of Carnage's back. And even if Gwen doens't exactly have the kind of savagery or strength that both Venom and Mania do she makes it up in nimbleness and speed, she jumping and spinning from the assault.

"Is this hedgehog season now?" What with Mania, Venom and Carnage going at it with the spikes it deserves to be said. It's also her own way of keeping cool under pressure because it's a tense situation in it's own right, specially as she wants to /capture/ Carnage, not kill him.

"Don't kill him." She tells them. Mostly to Mania really as she has grown some rapport with her by now. Venom may still be angry about the billboard she swung at his face over a year ago. Details...

Peter Parker has posed:
Bounding around and firing off distracting bite of webbing, Spider-man stops at the side of a building to peer down as Venom and Carnage...

"Uh, don't let this give you an ideas!" He shouts out, not clearly at anyone specific. (But definitely aimed at Ghost Spider.)

Swinging up towards her, Spider-man calls out. "Let's set up a perimeter and keep the spectators safe while these two go at it."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The group is web-piling (or s ymbiote-piling) on top of Carnage! Mania goes to slash over Carnage, digging into him with brutal skewers again and again, even as her claws would slash into Carnage faster than he could regenerate! The punch that Carnage has given to Venom is met with Venom going to try and give Carnage a deep 'happy to see me' kiss that has Venom's tongue turning to a spike to try and slash through his throat, getting out gunks and blood! Spider-Gwen is dodging about everything giong on and looks like she's doing a snoopy dance while rapidly dodging even smash and grab over as she looks for an opening!

Spider-Man goes to rapidly get to a better position, firing out bursts of webbing! It looks almost like the group is getting the upper hand (or blade).. When Carnage goes to rip it all out! He goes to smash behind him over with a claw, going to grab Mania to smash her around to try and use her like a flail to send Spider-Ghost flying! As Venom goes to slash down the throat, not quite slitting Cletus' neck, Carnage goe sto turn his hand over to a mace and smashes it HARD over to the center of Venom's chest, likely accompanied by the sound of breaking ribs - hopefully not,b ut still enough to send Venom flying like a rage doll!

then Carnage snaps those on him off, and looks over at the flung car. And grins.. Going to fire a series of his own bladed darts into it as it catches fire!

Andi Benton has posed:
Pain registers but as soon as it begins to, the symbiote shuts down or at least dampens some of those receptors, allowing Andi the ability to fight on longer. Being up close to that most intimate and potentially deadly 'kiss' from Venom to Carnage, that will be the stuff of nightmares. Mania can sport a tongue of their own, but it usually isn't seen except in certain situations.

Carnage's efforts to dislodge her lead to one of those cases. As he's hoisting her up, she scrambles around in place, trying to make for a more difficult hold, and that line where the mouth ought to be forms so she can open wide and try a chomp much like Venom would, only by that time she's being sent toward Ghost Spider! There's an attempt to send some webbing out to cushion potential impact, but it may not be in time.

About the same time, that car alights and ramps up the heat around them, another potential danger if it should explode!

Eddie Brock has posed:
Venom feels like he's just about to drive the spike right down Cletus Kasady's worthleess neckhole to harpoon his black withered shit-eating heart when he takes that mace to the chest, Carnage lashing out with all its unholy power and knocking him free and clear.

Venom tumbles head over heels, hitting the asphalt on his shoulder and skittering end over end until he crashes into an overloaded delivery driver with a fraternity's worth of pizzas in the van. Venom ends up on its head and flops onto the side, grunting and coughing for a moment and saying in Eddie Brock's voice, "Ow."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"That's a good ---" But Ghost Spider never finishes that sentence because the next moment there's a swinging Mania going her way. All spiky too! And so Gwen has to choose between getting impaled in spikes or getting hit by the blunt side of them. Choosing the latter Ghost Spider is hit -hard- and goes flying.

So much for it being an unfair four on one! Turns out they were the ones at a disadvantage.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
And as Carnage pulls away, the Symbiotes are left battered and injured, and the Spiders have to deal wth an exploding car and the people on the bus at risk. Carnage is crawling off - but not for long, just however long it takes him to heal. It's just midway through a very, very long day. So can the heroes keep going on another rise of MAXIMUM CARNAGE!?
