Patty Sloan has posed:
Its been one crazy weekend. Between trying to stop a shootout and actually stopping a bank robbery, Patty has had a lot to re-evaluate. After classes today she has made her way into the woods and towards the lake. She takes a deep breathe and makes her way down to the waters edge. Her eyes go to the ground looking for flat rocks to skip stones.

Patty looks out across the water as she leans down and picks up a flat stone. There is no sun glare on the water. The sky is overcast making it a dull grey. A gentle breeze blows, not caused by the girl with the stone. Nope she is not using her powers right now. So its just a light wind sort of day.

She winds up and flings the stone. It goes skipping across the water. Only about 3 skips but its a halfway decent throw. She goes back to hunting for flat stones. "What were you thinking Patty?!" She chastises herself as she bends down to grab another stone. She winds up and throws it sending it skipping across the top of the water.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
That's what one would call a normal day in the city. It's one of the resopnsibilities they take when they put on a uniform. But it is not the life tha tall the students at the Mansion want to pursue. As Monet goes to walk along, she takes a moment to glance over at Patty, "You seem to be agitated." SHe goes to comment casually. Not reading the mind of the girl; not without cause. Who do they think she is, that Frost strumpet? She has ethics..

Sometimes.

She doesn't ask if the girl is all right - she seems upset but it's ultimately her place whether she wants to talk or not. Monet just watches the stone skip, and hovers a half inch or so in midair so she doesn't risk getting mud on her expensive outfit.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Large acquatic cats? Surely these were things of myth and legend. A dark silhoette loomed up to the edge of the lake. Black, pointed ears eased up from the calm, flat surface of the lake before a large muzzle with sharp, pointed teeth. With a sudden burst of energy, and a lot of flying water the large feline creature would leap up at the flying stone, snapping it's teeth in a feigned attempt to catch it. Catseye was clever enough not to actually catch the stone with her teeth, but she came close enough to look like she could have. The panther sized feline twisted in the air at her fake catch attempt before vanishing with an impressive splash back into the watery depths.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
It's not often that Betsy comes out to the lake in general, but this seemed like a nice enough afternoon to meditate a bit in some privacy. Which is probably why the ninja is sitting cross-legged in a tree, eyes closed... until there's a very distinct *SPLASH* from Catseye attempting to hunt the skipping stone. One eye cracks open at that, and she gets a rueful grin on her face before looking down at M and Patty.

"Well, I could tell you what you were thinking, but I feel it's better to ask what happened first." She smiles, wearing a lavender one-piece with purple and black trim on the sides, and a black belt with the signature 'X' on the front.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty looks up and sees Monet. She smiles to her and lets out a soft sigh. "I kinda got into some messed up situations this weekend. First there was a shootout. I used my abilities to pin the shooters on the ground and flew off when I heard the police coming." She laughs. "I actually flew up onto the roof of a hotel." The girls hand goes to her face as she shakes her head. "Then I went to the bank yesterday and the bank was being robbed. I might actually be proud of how I handled that. I kinda made the robbers think the bank was haunted by manipulating the air in the room."

Then there is a splash! Patty whips around to see the tail end (No pun intended) of a big cat going after the hovering rock. "What in the world?" She wonders aloud. She doesn't know all the students at school. More importantly, she has no idea the extent of mutation possible in other mutants. So It catches her off guard to see what looked like a big cat, to say the very least.

Patty glances upward into the tree to see the person in lavender seemingly meditating. She gives a wave. "Umm Hi. I know what I was thinking at the shootout. I just dunno why I was thinking it. I am terrified of guns but I was willing to put myself in danger of them. There were people that were in trouble. People that probably couldn't do anything to protect themselves." She sighs. "I barely could but I could at least do something." She sighs. "I just am thinking I need to learn more of how to fight and stuff."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would turn her attention over to Betsy, "Ms. Braddock, I hope that you are well." She would turn her attention over to Catseye, taking a moment to recognize the.. Wait, purple haired (furred?) chase the stone? Shouldn't she be chasing the fish? Monet doesn't quite stare. No, she does not at all. Not in the slightest.

"It can be a bit much. Understand that you do not have to. You do what you feel safest with. Don't feel like you must endanger yourself to stop something. That is what the authorities are for." And the several thousand superheroes that operate in New York City. "But you did a good thing and you saved lives. Let your focus be on that."

Sharon Smith has posed:
The large black feline slipped back onto the shore, easing quietly from the water with little sound other than the soft patter of water droplets falling onto the grass. Bright, yellow eyes focused intently on the rock thrower, looking as though she were either ready to catch another rock or perhaps eat her. It was very difficult to discern intent from such a stoic face.

The large cat's final plan of action was to shake herself dry, and to incidently make sure everyone in the vicinity could catch some of her previous wetness in the process, throwing water droplets everywhere as her black fur perked up in a disorganized, frizzy pattern.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy, at least, was wise enough to wait for Catseye to finish shaking herself dry before attempting to descend. Though she did reply to Monet, "I would agree with that, yes." Once Catseye is done, she nimbly leaps down, using telekinesis to slow her fall to a manageable pace, landing easily near the others as she gives Patty a smile. "Elizabeth Braddock, but most everyone calls me Betsy. Or Psylocke, when we're in the field." Her lips quirk a bit as she glances over at Monet.

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Thanks Monet. Its just a really different thing, you know? I'm not used to putting myself in danger. It just feels right to do so." Patty comments as she considers the whole thing. "I gotta admit though. Making a bunch of would be robbers think a bank was haunted was funny. I never seen a bunch of people go running so fast." She giggles.

And then... there is the Cat person. Everything is fine until... WET?! "Ugh! Darn it! I was trying to avoid getting wet today." She sighs and the wind starts blowing onto her, drying her off and giving her a bit of the windblown look. She definitely looks more dramatic standing in the wind like she is.

She turns to Betsy and smiles. "A pleasure to meet you, Psylocke. I'm Patty Sloan. Or just Patty... Or Sylph." She smiles a little and flutters her wings, getting the water off of them.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "You should not get used to it. Becoming apathetic to it is a bad thing. It makes you sloppy, arrogant, and all too easily overwhelmed when you're not paying attention. Wariness and fear are goodt hings. They help keep you mindful of self preservation." As the girl goes on about 'making people think bank was haunted' she doesn't deign to grace it with any further response.

She quickly takes several steps/floats away from Catseye, just to make sure she's not having the water splish down.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith finally popped up into form of a short, purple haired human. She could have stayed in the shape of a large black cat, but the long snout and pointy teeth made it difficult to speak. Also, she had to give a gloating laugh at Patty's misfortune of getting wet.

"Har har." the purple hair woman boasted. Her smile was genuine, but Sharon really needed to work on her laugh. It was almost mechanical.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy nods, "A pleasure, Patty." She nods in agreement with Monet, then gives Sharon a smile, "Practicing?" She sounds approving of the expression, mechanical as it may sound. "And well, that's just something of a quirk when you live up here. But call me Betsy, please. Psylocke can wait until we're in the field on an op or something."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Okay Betsy." Patty states as she continues drying herself off. Part of her considers blowing some water onto the cat woman but she doesn't. It was tempting though. "Cute." She simply states to the cat. "I can dry myself off a little bit this way. Nothing to worry about." Finally she turns back to Monet. "I'm not getting used to it. I was terrified both times. I just had to do something. That's the second time I've said that this weekend. I had to do something. I think maybe its something I should be doing? I just don't know. I want to help people and the more I practice, the more confident I feel with my abilities."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "Things come with practice and effort. Should you wish to pursue it, you can try and take the more advanced classes in training with your powers. There are a number of teachers here that would be skilled in it. Ms. Munroe among them. She cna likely best guide you when it comes to tutlage."

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith pursed her lips at Betsy's question, giving it far too much thought than the simple question was worth. She finally nodded and smiled. Her head tilted back and forth in a brief flourish, as though trying to show off the fact she had a similar purple theme to Betsy's. She didn't have the fancy purple outfit, but at least her head was a violet hue.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy grinned at Sharon's display, "And yes, I like the color." She glances over towards Patty, "And Monet is right, there's quite a few good instructors here. I'm going to start teaching some martial arts classes with the next semester I think. Just need to work out scheduling." She smiles, "And truth be told, you're always going to feel the fear. The trick is to master it so it works for you instead of against you."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"The person I was told to talk to is Scott Summers. I had to verify which Mr. Summers they were talking about because there are so many Summers' around here." Patty laughs a little and smiles. "I wanna start learning to fight without using my powers. Or better yet. Learn to fight along side my powers. That way I can compliment my abilities with my physical movements." She smiles. Her attention shifts to Catseye and she notes the purple coloring. "You look good!" She comments, just trying to be polite. Turning to Monet, she nods, "Its an adventure to say the least. I have an idea of what I could be and I am thinking about where I am. Its such a big gap."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would smirk, "There are a few of him around. You'll be able to figure it out quickly. One is responsible, the other has slightly more social skills than Logan does." It doesn't help both those things could apply to both of the brothers! Well, they didn't know where the third one was so that was that. "And are you.. Enjoying yourself?" To Catseye, wary.

Sharon Smith has posed:
Sharon Smith looked from Monet to the water and then to the main building of the school in the distance. She quietly pondered for a moment before sinking into the shape of a small black cat and wandering to the school house. It was an odd answer, but perhaps the cat had something important to attend to.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy blinks a bit at the cat, then grins at Patty, "Just look for the guy with slightly ruffled hair and bright red glasses. You can't miss him." She smiles at that, "But, for now, I should probably head back to the mansion myself, just to see if I can catch Jean in the right mood to talk about the next semester." With that, she waves, "Nice to meet you, Patty. And I'll see you later Monet."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Okay. Ruffled hair and bright red glasses. I think I saw him around once." She smiles. "Thank you for the advice, Betsy. Nice to meet you too. See you later." Patty waves and then turns to Monet, "I met Alex Summers once. We talked once and he gave me some advice. It wasn't bad advice so that's cool right?"
