Hyperion has posed:

Three Mile Island. What an accurate name. But this is a part of Pennsylvania that has been for the most part abandoned. The residents of the region have never felt comfortable around the site of the 1979 meltdown. Ironically, it was only last year, in 2019, that the full facility shut down for good. But that is a history lesson, and not -precisely- pertinent to today's events.
Sensors have been detecting energy spikes coming from the general area. Up until the facility closed, it was assumed this had to do with the nuclear power generation itself. But even after the shutdown, these spikes have been growing. Not so much that locals noticed anything. But it has registered on some of the specialized sensors used by the metahuman community.
As investigators arrive on the site, it looks like a cross between a high tech facility, and an old west ghost town. One might imagine tumbleweeds rolling across the area but... that would just be the imagination, right? The road and bridge to reach the island is shut down with warning signs to that effect, and the parking lot on site is perfectly empty. Zero signs of life in the area. The silos of the Nuclear Power Generation Facility lie quiescent. It's quiet... too quiet.

Dawn Granger has posed:
The feeling had been growing all day, making Dawn restless and unable to study. She had picked up and put down Cohen, Karol, Noel, and Zaller, The Party Decides: Who makes presidents and why? - none of it really sticking because of the unease tickling her stomach. She knows the Lord of Order wants something from her.

"Alright," she mutters to herself, puts the book down and heads for the roof of the Titan Tower.

An hour later: a blue and white streak follows the Susquehanna River, ten miles behind her the suburbs of Harrisburg sprawl along the river. The streak slows resolving into a silver-white haired woman settling to earth near the perimeter of zone around the defunct power plant. Once she had gone to the top of the tower, the Lord of Order had let her know that there were disruptions in the order of the world.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Something's off.

Wanda's used to feeling things she can't always explain, and this was certainly something she couldn't. It was steadily growing stronger, enough so that she couldn't ignore it. It seemed prudent to cautiously investigating. The crackle of red magic in the air is the only indication that something's about to happen before the Scarlet Witch and her companion arrive. She's placed them down where she feels is a reasonably safe distance to allow for a more cautious approach.

"I don't like this," she says softly. "This is something that's not supposed to be here. That shouldn't exist here. I do not believe it to be entirely a passive force either, whatever it may be."

T'Challa has posed:
As they arrive, T'Challa is wearing his Black Panther habit, though his head is currently exposed without the cowl on. He looks around the area, even draws in a deep breath as if scenting the air. After that he lifts one of his arms, turning it over so the inside is upwards. Above his hand a small representation of the area appears, looking like something substantial, not just a hologram. He touches to the location they are, and then does a little more manipulation and some charts and graphs come up. "There have been growing energy readings in the area for some time," he says, raspy voice tinged with concern.

T'Challa turns to look over to Wanda. "Your concern is well warranted, my friend. Shall we investigate?" His mask forms over his head as T'Challa prepares to start forward along the bridge if Wanda is ready.

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen Starr had been tracking strange energy signatures from Three Mile Island for quite a while. Sure, most are mistaking it for residuals from what the island has been doing for years, but there's something odd about them. Something frankly quite odd indeed.

Eventually, these spiking readings get to a point where she can't allow them to remain, and their source should be pretty well obvious when she gets there. As a result, zooming through the sky and arriving only slightly later than the others who exist closer in proximity- She is coming from Metropolis, after all, even if she's doing so at Mach 50- the blonde form of Power Girl descends quietly from the sky close enough to Wanda and T'Challa to be heard.

She assumes they're here for the same reason she is, and they're effectively co-workers in the Avengers regardless. "Be careful. Whatever's producing these readings probably won't be pleasant to get close to."

Hyperion has posed:
And so we have a red wizard, a blue and white force of order, a white suited and red caped visitor from another world, and the King of Wakanda. What a disparate group of adventurers indeed.
The moment they all appear, by speed or magic, what felt so quiet, so calm... well not calm, more like the calm before a storm, proves to be just that.
Alarms begin to blare. The sort of alarms that the residents on either side of the river have been fearing they would hear for decades. Alarms that issue forth from the plant as if it was about to go into a meltdown. In all honesty, it's more about the presence of intruders, but the civilians do not know that. Panic is going to start to spread -very- soon.
And then the ground seems to shake for a moment in a way that doesn't really -feel- seismic. But not everyone can know that. Either way, concealed positions reveal what they have been concealing. Experimental weapons. Stealth was not the ONLY defense of this base. These are weapons designed to channel some of that siphoned power into their workings, and within moments, it is a killing ground as pulse blasts of cosmic energy (and yeah, if anyone has felt the touch of the power cosmic, there is a similar energy signature. Not the same, but similar.)

Dawn Granger has posed:
Dawn is young to her powers, young in the world of super heroes. She looks at each arrival with a real sense of wonder, her recognition is more a sense of rightness than knowing their names. Power is here and it compounds the feeling that she has arrived at where she should be.

She nods to each in turn, just as she gestures to the plant the moment of quiet rightness shatters. Only the closest to her might hear, "It brought you, too?"

The first blast shatters the ground nearly at her feet. She obeys her first impulse and rises straight up in the air, searching for the source of the energy.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
The red-garbed witch nods towards T'Challa. "Of course." Wanda's attention is drawn towards the approach of Power Girl, who is offered a nod in turn. "I agree. Caution is wise." Especially because she's not entirely got a grasp on what she's feeling. The cautious approach, however, doesn't seem to be working as well as they'd like.

While there's little real warning for what's about to happen, her reaction is equally quick. There's a red glow from her hands and in the air as a force shield blocks a set of blasts from nearby. While she's channeling her energy into the shield, though, the situation still doesn't sit well with her.

"This is not exactly the sort of energy I would have expected to find here," she echoes her previous sentiment of discomfort. "It must be drawing from something nearby."

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa looks towards Dawn even as he waves a greeting to Power Girl. "Good to have you on hand," he calls over to the latter in his melodic, accented English. He looks back towards the facility in the distance, then to Dove. "Yes. We welcome assistance in investigating if you would join us," he says, as if recognizing her by her costume.

"Should it prove to be radioactive? Wanda? Would you be able to-"

Whatever question that the Black Panther was about to ask gets cut off as the sirens start going off and then defensive turrets are popping up and opening fire! Panther sees a turret aim towards him and he dives out of the way as a hole is blasted in the ground where he was standing, and peppering him with bits of concrete that result in faint purple glows where they hit his Black Panther habit.

He doesn't wait but immediately goes on the attack, sprinting forward at an angle and pulling a dagger-like shape from his costume. The vibranium energy dagger flies towards the nearest active turret, the blade itself rippling with energy that it delivers with a great destructive force when it hits. "Not at all what I was expecting," he agrees before jumping to the edge of the bridge to evade another blast.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl's expression goes from moderately intrigued, if serious, to maximum serious in a matter of moments. As she arrives, things seem to shift, and though she has much to say to the others, she can only offer a pause, holding still and listening. She wants to be the personable type, but... The alarms.

"Be careful," she states, as the alarms begin, "I can hear things moving, but there's no guarantee where they're going to-" Ah, the problems of having to speak at human speed. By the time she's finishing that sentence, the ground beneath them is warping, and turrets are springing from the concrete.

Power Girl's arms raise, and the first volleys of energy bolts strike her dead on- yet, despite that she protected her face, and that she's being careful about their might, Karen is Kryptonian. Invulnerable doesn't really seem like enough of a term to cover it.

A cloud of smoke erupts around her body as the energy strikes her, hitting her suited flesh and exploding in loud puffs of noise and smog, that for a few moments obscure most of her- then, in response to their aggression, the cloud turns bright red for a fraction of a second, before two thin red beams burst from it, raking across the turrets that had just fired upon Power Girl.

Hyperion has posed:
The heroes separate and do their things. Energy blasts far more powerful than a normal turret should be able to produce, slam into Scarlet Witch's shield, and even invulnerable skin will feel it. IT's not like it's going to knock out a Kryptonian, but think of it like wearing a good strong bullet resistant vest and getting shot by a bunch of handguns. It might sting, but that's all for now.
Dove's rocket move straight up stymies the targeting systems a bit since not all of the targets are on the same plane now. In response, a few of the guns traverse upwards, but that is all... tracking systems trying to predict where to fire as those weapons strafe the sky with golden yellow energy pulses.
Panther's dagger sinks into the workings of the machinery, and it is evident that these are not designed as hardened bunkers so much as quickly kit-bashed things. In fact, the designs of the turrets are not even uniform. And the dagger slides into the workings of one and that turret goes offline as its power feed is interrupted.
Heat Vision from Power Girl destroys half a dozen turrets in one sweep. I mean come on. It's Heat Vision. And in fact, there seems to be another added effect. That dagger's energy seems to have caused some disruptions.. and a few seconds later... the turrets start making noises like they are trying to discharge, but someone pulled the ammo out of them. And then they go silent...

Dawn Granger has posed:
Metal cooling pops and tings in the abrupt silence. "Wow," Dove exclaims from on high, lowering herself gradually to the ground near the dagger shattered turret. She turns to T'challa with a thumb in the air then walks over to one of Power Girl's targets. It is too hot to approach, slubs of molten alloy steam in the grass around it.

"Was that an AI on automatic or someone who just plain doesn't like us?" she asks in a lilting British accent to the others.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda grits her teeth as she holds up the shield near her. One glowing hand is held out towards a turret, the red energy seeking out the metal to try and crumple it, to force any further blast to potentially be stuck inside the machinery and cause it to overheat or explode.

She looks back to the others, shaking her head. "These are far too powerful, we should find the..." But her words trail off at the sound of the guns attempting to fire and then not. She looks around. "I do not think it matters who it is doing the firing, but that we make sure that this battery is not recharging and getting ready for another round. We need to find the source."

Even as she says this, she's already seeking out the energy, feeling for the strongest indication of that 'wrongness' she'd felt before.

T'Challa has posed:
Black Panther stops dodging as the weaponry seems to shut down. Though he's still wary as he approaches the one that he hit. His claws rend the surviving metal of the turret's outer shell with almost ridiculous ease as he peels it open to examine the inside of it.

A circuit board is pulled out and looked at, his kimoyo beads scanning it and relaying the results to his mask while he reaches in to pull out one of the energy conduits inside and study it. He discards it and turns back towards the others.

"This turret seems makeshift," he says, pulling out his energy dagger. "But made to channel staggering amounts of power. Clearly that was where they focused their efforts. At the cost of other aspects," he says, pushing aside the energy conduit with his foot.

He crouches down, sweeping his hand slowly over the ground, though actually he's scanning with his kimoyo beads. "They are powered from beneath, the power sent to them. And those conduits are still going. Building up a charge. This could become explosive if they continue unabated," he says in his deep rasp of a voice. "We should move quickly to shut down their power source."

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl steps free of the smoke, wisps of it trailing around her form as she emerges, seemingly unscathed. In silence she moves forward, taking to the air momentarily and flying delicately towards one of the turrets. "Good work everyone..." she states, not exactly shouting, yet at the same time, she seems momentarily distracted, as if she's deep in thought.

It's only a few moments later that she calls out- "Everyone get away from the turrets!" It's at that point that T'Challa does his sweep, and Karen nods. "Think of it like a hose with a kink in it, except all the water pressure is being allowed to build infinitely. If we don't move quickly, they'll be the least of our worries."

She takes to the air, and the shift in color of her eyes is, at that point, difficult to register- but she begins looking through the surface beneath them, tracing things that she can see, so that she can route them a path to where they need to go.

Hyperion has posed:
Down below. Down below is what is indicated for everything. Power conduits coming from there. X-Ray Vision can also perceive something that the supremely vigilant Dove can sense. That there is activity below, and that there is a freight elevator rising with two fourteen foot tall combat robots on that platform. Whomever this is here, they did not take X-Ray vision into account. Except for down below. Nuclear reactor, lead shielding and all.
There are a lot of people down there scurrying around in bright yellow beekeeper type suits. Oy... commence facepalm now. A.I.M. Those gits.
The robots on the raised platform do not seem to have giant extension cords. But the surface of the platform seems to be radiating that same power directly into their feet.
On the surface, the parking lot breaks open... the asphalt tearing like cotton fabric as the top of the freight elevator breaks through. Loudspeakers come online as the sirens cut off. They were stupid loud of course.
"You should have just stayed away. Now it is too late." Oy, is this person monologuing?

Dawn Granger has posed:
Eyes screwed shut, Dove crouches near the turret, aware of the heat radiating off it. Another form of energy, otherwordly, is affecting her. Fingers and thumb massaging her forehead, she takes a deep breath, smelling the tang of metal mixed with the cool air from the river. T'challa's words put form to the inchoate threat. The power is itself, whole and untainted, but someone has bent it to evil. Now, she understands what prompted the Lord of Order to send her.

Rising, she nods emphatically, "It's underground." She points to the ground below the spool shaped concrete containment nearest them. It's underground becomes an understatement as the asphalt of the parking lot splits open like a black seed case sowing the peaceful ground along the river with juggernauts. Okay, robots.

Dove takes a running leap into the air and lands behind the one farthest from the containment. The platform that they arrived on gives no appearance of danger but she doesn't take the chance. She pushes off, straight for its back, wary of its defenses, it totters but doesn't fall. Yelling to the others, "I want to get down there to the power source. Figure I can get down the way they got up."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
It's not hard for Wanda to see just where these combat robots seem to be drawing their power. Disconnecting things from the power source itself is the end goal, but the robots are in the way of that. "It is a good plan," she calls to Dove. It seems she's got the right idea.

The red glow of magic swirls around her hands as she sends out a powerful magical blast of red light towards one of the robots, intent on shoving it in the direction of the other robot and knocking them both off of the platform itself. "We need to get down there quickly."

T'Challa has posed:
Black Panther lacks at the moment a way to dislodge them from the platforms so the leaves that to the others. Instead he makes himself a target to try to give Scarlet Witch the time she needs to bring her chaos magic to bear upon them.

He uses an energy dagger to shoot a beam of energy at one. It manages to punch a whole in its armor but other than hitting a key weak point, there was never much hope it would be more than a means to get it's attention.

And does he ever! The mechanical construct turns, pointing it's weapon at T'Challa. He is starting to dive out of the way when the blast rips through the air and hits the ground near him with explosive results. Black Panther is flung through the air, bouncing off a concrete barrier and rolling across the ground several times before coming to a stop. His black habit has a distinct purple aura infusing the vibranium weave, but a lot of that blast got through his kinetic barrier. Black Panther stirs, dazed, making it to hands and knees before slowly staggering back to his feet.

Karen Starr has posed:
There's a short pause with Power Girl in the air. She memorizes as much as she needs to- a route from the freight elevator coming through the stone- which she notes, but won't deal with just yet- that leads to the core of the facility.

Once she's traced that- and committed it to memory- she brings herself down to ground level. The freight elevator reaches the surface, breaching from the stone. As the others take position, Karen calls out to the pilots within.

"You're going to want to surrender. That's really the only way this goes well for you."

With that stated, one of the robots raises a cannon, and fires off a shot. AIM troopers might not have the best aim, but they are not the most virtuous of enemies. The blast hits Power Girl square in the window, causing another explosive upkick of dust and dirt around her. There is silence, for a moment...

Then, there is a thunderous /CRACK/ as Power Girl accelerates heavily, surging forward with unheard of might. She breaks the sound barrier- just as the others are out of range for it to be deafening- and turns all of that momentum into a single punch delivered with a not-insignificant amount of her strength. Steel for her would be like soggy paper.

Hyperion has posed:
First Point goes to Dove, who is already in position behind one of the mechs when they come up. They had hoped to catch folks off guard. Maybe this particular chapter of AIM doesn't know much about Kryptonians. They certainly know little about representatives of Order and Chaos. They'd likely scoff at the very concept of that. Not like those representatives are allowing them time to breathe, let alone scoff.
.... Did I mention that the fourteen foot mechs look like just oversized yellow beekeeper suits? Yeah, not a lot of imagination on these guys. You'd think any group that can make such amazing things as the Super Adaptoid, could come up with -something- new. Either way, those cannons are ripping up the parking area. Those who can see through the ground can see that there are personnel evacuating down side tunnels using maglev rail cars. Okay, so they did come up with something new. Either way, the robots start to get toppled over and ... okay, let's talk about the window. The costume window on Power Girl's suit. Or we could -not- talk about it. But with a Kryptonian, showing a vulnerability there is like the Punisher and his skull. It's SHOOT ME THERE STUPID bullseye. Right? See? I knew it! But then the supersonic ramming speed happens, and the robots finish their topple.
Now mind you, one was teetering, but about to recover with a foot coming down on the King. Not Elvis, the -real- king. WAKANDA FOREVER! Okay... but that is done now that both mechs are about five hundred yards away and in the river.
Meanwhile, Dove's hypervigilant senses are drawn to what looks like a hatch off to one side of the elevator platform. A hatch that leads to an emergency elevator.
Normally, it would take long minutes to climb down said ladder, but with folks who can fly, that worry is alleviated.

GOING DOWN?

Dawn Granger has posed:
It's a sweet word surrender. Dove hopes for the best but this once doesn't believe the people running the robots will succumb to Power Girl's words. The ground shakes under the weight of the robots slamming the broken parking lot.

The robot's platform is not a solid plate of metal but has a hatch which helps Dove hatch a plan. Landing beside it, she grabs a ring to pull it upward. It flips open on oiled hinges revealing a stairway and enough space to fly.

"Any takers? I'm going to the power source!" With a wave of her hand to the others, she tips forward to disappear into the dimly lit tunnel.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
When Dove indicates the most direct route down, Wanda's headed over there moments later. Her hands glow red and she's dropping into the tunnel as well. She's going to head down to the power source, letting her senses draw her ever more towards the strange sense of energy. She's not delaying, not when she can't shake the feeling of how off it feels, the way it never quite feels like she expects it to.

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa is back on his feet, and shaking his head to rid them of the cobwebs as of the blast. "Thank you," he says in gratitude for stopping the robot that was looking to follow through on the whole "Ant, meet boot" analogy with him.

Black Panther trusts to Wanda and Dove on the way down, rather than taking the time to scan further. He follows Scarlet Witch over, pausing only to check on Power Girl that she's alright after the collision with the robots.

Afterwards he jumps into the hatch, claws rending the walls of the shaft where needed to slow him down from time to time as he otherwise lets gravity drop him down towards the bottom, able to fall substantial distances with his suit absorbing the impact.

Karen Starr has posed:
Having shoulder-checked the armored thing into the river, Karen lingers in the air to make sure that they're both incapacitated, before heading to do the thing that she'd figured out beforehand.

She's a little charred- and T'Challa can see that she's dusting herself off from where the beam hit her- but otherwise, Power Girl doesn't seem much the worse for the wear after being hit, despite that it hit her dead on. Her attention turns to him on the way, and she offers a nod, but slings herself off at a more reasonable speed towards the hatch Dove had opened.

She intends to out pace the others- primarily because she's the one that's particularly invulnerable, but on the way down, she calls out to Dove- "Thanks for the hatch!"

Before, then, accelerating as such to make her way to the bottom of the pit, and follow the path and take point, if allowed- She's planning on being the shield, here.

Hyperion has posed:
Down down down, into the darkness and the unknown. Okay, not -so- unknown. The path itself is a form of order, and few understand order like Order's chosen agent. It might be a maze down here, but it's mostly abandoned. Dove knows the turns and twists instinctively.
But she is not the only gifted one here. The wielder of the Chaos Magic can feel it too. An incursion, chaos that did -not- originate from her chaos... and then there's the King and the Girl of Power. It's not like they are lackwits. In the end, one can follow power conduits in the ceiling or floor. They all lead to a chamber that is glowing in pulsing golden light.
Standing in the middle of the room is a man who looks like he was wearing that beekeeper outfit. Yeah, the one with the headpiece tossed in the corner, and the top lying next to it.
He has conduits connected to a variety of Rubber Science doohickies. Most of them connected to either needles or electrodes. So they are either connected to the bloodstream, or to the flesh. Most of those electrodes are on the head too, leading to the brain somehow. Those who have Avengers file access can see similarities between the connections and how MODOK's mental power devices work. Then again, MODOK was created by AIM so there is that.
Either way, this man has been injecting a fluid containing the raw power, and seeping it in through his skin for the last few minutes. Finally, he lets out a scream ... or is it a roar... or is it both? Either way, he steps forward, the 'trodes and IV's slipping free of his body... eyes glowing with power, muscles looking like they are trying to rip out through his flesh..... "I gave you the chance to leave." his voice says... sounding like four voices at once, echoing in the small chamber. "All that is left to do is to decide what order to kill you in." he says as he charges forward. But..
Something is wrong. Each of you, for one reason or another...
Dove: Out of hyper-vigilant senses...
Power Girl: Out of sped up senses picking up every little detail
Wanda: Well, she's Wanda, do I need to say more?
T'Challa: The King knows things. You have to know these sorts of things when you're King. But seriously, he watches people move all the time. Something about this man's movements is just... wrong.
Either way, everyone is aware that something is wrong here. It goes down when the guy gets about ten feet away. The energy begins to consume him. It is obvious this was a prototype and an error. This energy... were it what it seems like, should have worked fine. But it is unstable, not resonating with anything in the universe correctly... and every ounce of matter that makes up Super Scientist's body is converted into energy in an instant, causing an explosion of raw power..... now is the time for a shield...

Dawn Granger has posed:
A change of temperature, a breeze coming from the left, conduits, foot prints, are details in the gestalt that Dove reads. Each thing has its place in the order of things. She looks back over her shoulder twice for the others, slowing imperceptibly to find the way into the chamber that resonates with power. Moving to one side of the door to make room for the others, she stands open mouthed in disbelief.

It's a horror movie scene being enacted before them. Tubes twist and bubble, the room pulses with surges of power. Above all is the absolute sense of wrongness. It distorts her vision.

Dove takes a step backward then advances, face grim. The scream is like a hot wind blowing in her face. She charges the figure. "Death is not the answer," she yells, in reply, hands outstretched as she runs full force into the figure.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl arrives first, landing from a short swoop out of the hallway and taking a few steps into the room. She sees the man hooked into so many different devices, and her alien intellect- combined with no small amount of understanding of what AIM's goals are- allow her to understand what this Scientist has had done to him.

"Okay bud, I know you're going to start power-tripping any second," she begins, trying to talk some sense into him before the power really takes hold, "But you can't control all of that energy. Even if you do manage to do some damage to us, it won't be long before it burns you up." After all, the Scientist was human beforehand- and it is clearly unstable.

Still, the man lets out his scream, ripping himself out of the machine and starting to charge. It's mid charge that the speed of Power Girl's perception increases dramatically- as the first signs that he's collapsing in on himself, she knows she has to put herself between the blast and everyone else. Dawn, for all her good intent- is running forward. Power Girl has to make sure she does as much as possible. Within atmosphere it's harder- she can't get the others all the way out of the facility. Instead, she does the next best thing...

It's a small nudge, really- They're coming through the door anyways, and nothing's going to be exact, because that's impossible... At speed, Power Girl just gives small positional corrections, making sure that instead of the heroes fanning out, even with Dove charging forward, all the heroes are in a line.

At the head of the line for a moment is Dove- but, Power Girl places herself there, in Dove's path, between the younger heroine and the eruption of energy.

Quietly, she braces herself, bringing her forearms up in front of her face. Power Girl can withstand nigh upon anything. She is pretty sure this is included, but it's probably going to sting.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda's senses have been screaming as to just how off it feels, so the moment it escalates, she's ready for it. Even as Power Girl moves to take the blast, her hands are glowing, red with crackling magical energy. The area around the cluster of them is surrounded with a rippling shield of magic, with the Scarlet Witch pouring energy into it in anticipation of the strength of the blast.

"Everyone stay close!"

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa knows when something is above his grade in this department. He does take one scan with his kimoyo beads and yells, "He's going to detonate!" giving the others a scant warning, but maybe the extra seconds or two help.

His instinct is to grab Wanda and pull her down to the ground and cover her, letting his body and costume provide whatever extra protection they can. But he also realizes her shield is the far better option for keeping Wanda and the rest of them alive, and so he doesn't risk disrupting it. He just positions himself in front of her and braces himself as best he can!

Hyperion has posed:
For those at ground zero, were they unshielded, it would be devastating. The energy released is akin to being struck by a full force Heat Vision from Kal-El. Not precisely, but for the amount of energy released it is a good enough analogy. But it is an instant release that pushes at the walls of the room. But much like a balloon having air released from it, the energy tends to funnel into any place that is open. But with Power Girl's body, and Wanda's shield in the direction of the hallway you all came in... there really is only one other way it cam go.
There is a curve hallway leading out the far side of the room, and the energy washes around that curve and everyone can hear the door that was at the end of the hallway collapse inward as the eruption shoves it off its frame.
And then it is over, and quiet.
One note, there -was- a power conduit running around that curve. A conduit that seemed to be delivering power to the FrankenAIM dude's setup. But when that curve is followed, there appears to be something akin to a simple medical bed in the next room. A room that has some debris in it now, but was likely a clean room until the explosion blew in the door.
Lying on the medical bed is a man in black and gold. With yes, a cape. For someone who has been essentially in a coma, he doesn't appear to have atrophied at all. But on his head is something -very- similar to the MODOK thing. Again, anyone familiar with engineering and Avengers files (that's you Your Majesty!) can identify the thing as something similar to MODOK's tech. This one is accessing the brain's receptors in a way that can only be psionic energy generated through technology... to forcibly keep the body inert, either entierly in a coma, or... the more likely alternative is keeping the man locked in some sort of induced dream state.
Meanwhile, a whole host of mechanisms, conduits, hoses, etc.. are attached to his body. And they are pulsing with energy, apparently siphoning it from him. Above the man is a small cylendrical shaft leading all the way to the surface, lined with mirrors. This is obvious because of the narrow shaft of light striking his body. A body that absorbs cosmic radiation and processes it into raw power. Enough to run all of the guns, robots, and the body conversion mistake... and it is still producing power. The good news is that when the Amazing Exploding Scientist went up, he severed the conduits to the turrets outside, preventing them from exploding like a dozen micro-nukes. The conduits are now just venting raw power into the room.... power that doesn't belong.
Up close, both Order and Chaos's representatives can sense that if the energy is contained -within- the body, it'll be fine, but when it is infused into -anything- in this universe, it will destabilize it and cause the breakdowns that have been witnessed. And both come to the simple unavoidable conclusion that this comatose man... is not from around here. Not a far off planet. Not another galaxy. But a parallel universe with a resonance juuuuust a bit off from our own. Close enough that he can exist safely, but different enough that his energy cannot combine with the matter and tech from this universe... safely.

Dawn Granger has posed:
Dove finds herself curled into a ball behind the shield of Power Girl, having realized too late that she shouldn't have run TOWARD the incredible exploding crazy man but AWAY. It's a moment for one's entire life to pass before one's eyes. All the heat of the universe whooshes by them accompanied by all the sound, funneled away by the open door. Or so it seems. A feather drifts to the ground.

"Are you alright?" Dove mouths unable to hear herself for a moment. She reaches for Power Girl, it takes a century to turn her head to find out how the King and Wanda fared.

Staggering, she points to the door, realizing her mistake. This wasn't the source of the power, the conduits leading to it are directed here from someplace else. Follow the pipes, young woman, a voice seems to say. She tries and zig zags to the door, recovering more of her strength with every step.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl was right. This is going to sting.

Still, she can survive swimming through the core of the sun, even if it didn't fuel her. This energy that washes over them is intense, but she neither buckles nor breaks. Gritting her teeth, she rides it out and provides the shield that the others need.

Momentarily deafened, Dove doesn't hear when Power Girl responds, but the other woman does at least feel that she's still there, and still alive. Karen turns, rounding on the others to make sure that everyone is alive, and conscious. If so- she'll look sympathetic, and speak up. "Sorry to say, but you're going to have to walk it off." she notes, before turning back and following the pipes along with her mental image of the route they need to take to the power source.

Power Girl doesn't recognize the man on the table, but as an Avenger- and someone who's met MODOK, herself- Karen does recognize the tech involved on his head. Turning to T'Challa, she speaks. "Do you think your suit can survive in there? Seems like all the energy is being vented into the room. I'll be fine, but I wager I'm going to need two sets of hands, just in case."

T'Challa has posed:
Black Panther's suit protection kicked in when he knew the blast was coming, muffling his ears, though it was the combination of Power Girl and Wanda's chaos magic forming that protective barrier that is the only reason he survived.

He says in his raspy voice, sounding quite tired, "This... has not been one of our better days. I think." He reaches over to Wanda's shoulder and tells her, "Thank you." He turns and Power Girl is given a similar expression of gratitude. Black Panther turns to Dove then. "You are well, yes?" he asks her, making sure she's ok to go on.

He then looks around the area, soon settling on the room that is blown open. "The room is alright, at least for short term exposure," he says to Power Girl. T'Challa walks into it, eyeing the man that is laying there, hooked up. He moves over to investigate the device on the figure's head, using both his own eyes, and scans from his technology. A soft murmur is given. "I wish I had your eyes for a second opinion, Shuri," he says to himself. "I can try to remove this. Doing so is likely to release a being of immense power."

T'Challa pauses. "I do not know that we have a choice. He may continue to generate this energy even if we block the shaft above him. And he may be the only one who can leash what is already coursing around us before something catastrophic happens."

T'Challa stops and looks to Wanda and Dove. "Your powers may be the only thing to stop him if this goes wrong," he says. He'll give them time to prepare before carefully removing the device that is keeping the figure unconscious.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda's first priority once the explosion of energy has occurred and she's dropped her shield is to check on the others. Dove seems a little worse for wear, but she's still on her feet which is a good sign. Power Girl is also assessed, but she's also on her feet. Two for two. She glances to T'Challa and offers him a soft smile in response. "That is okay. We can do better."

Her attention drifts over to the other room, following the others to investigate the figure. She observes for a moment, concern in her expression before she looks between the room's occupants. "It is like mixing oil and water," she murmurs. "Him and this don't go together."

Letting out a slow breath of air, she nods, her hands glowing as a soft crimson flow of magic rests between them. Her magic's ready and waiting. She nods to T'Challa.

Dawn Granger has posed:
Last into the room, Dove approaches the caped man tentatively, eyebrows furrowed in concern for his state. He glows with power, the light shining on him dim compared to what he radiates to her senses. Here at last is rightness. And wrongness. Something holds him in its thrall and it is beyond Dove's abilities to undo the force that holds him. Turning to the others, her gaze passes from Power Girl to Wanda and on to T'Challa, she lifts her hands in question and in hope that something can be done to free him.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl nods along with T'Challa, but enters the room alongside him. She can forgive the "offense" of relying on Wanda and Dove- for a multitude of reasons, none the least of which is that she's aware of how powerful Wanda is -rumored- to be, which she is safely assuming doesn't really do it justice. The other is, of course, that everyone doubts you can lift a continent until you do it. It's hard to really grasp the capabilities of Karen's people until, well, they're /right/ there.

Either way, she makes her way into the room alongside T'Challa. She looms over the man on the table, and rests her arms on his shoulders. She applies only strength insomuch as it would be incredibly difficult to sit up withouth her removing them- Essentially like being restrained without contact... She is not so much pressing down into him as she is holding position with, well, a whole lot more strength than is particularly sane to calculate.

To T'Challa, she merely nods, ready to hold him in place.

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa retracts the mask of his Black Panther habit, revealing a reasonably kind face with an immaculately groomed beard. When he speaks has a voice with a quiet rasp to it, and an accent that is African though with bits of British English noticeable also.

"We are not part of a Squadron, no," he replies quietly. "You appear to have been held captive. By a group using you to power weaponry," the African says to Hyperion. "We have stopped the worst of them and caused the others to flee. And we removed what was keeping you in a coma, I believe."

T'Challa looks Hyperion over. "You are well though? Well enough to tell us who you are then, and where you come from?" he asks.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda's ready in case of emergency. Even as the energy returns to its rightful place, the soft glow of red light lingers between her fingers for a moment more. A security measure. When he speaks, the glow fades and her hands return to her sides. "Take it slow," she says gently at the mention of the dizziness. Her gaze moves between him and T'Challa, then to Power Girl and Dove.

She studies Hyperion with a careful glance, though her eyes are soft. "I believe you are far from home."

Hyperion has posed:
When the device comes off of his head, Hyperion lies there for a long moment. But then there are a few small changes. His eyes move behind his eyelids, like the dream was on the edge of ending. The energy suddenly -vanishes- from the room... withdrawn into him like he was a crushed sponge in a puddle of water that was suddenly released.
As that energy floods back in, his eyes open. Blue eyes like facets of a sapphire.
Those eyes move before the head turns and spotting T'Challa there, he focuses his eyes and then says, "That's a new look Hawk." Then he lifts a hand to his head and mutters, "I don't think that I have -ever- felt this dizzy."
He looks to the hand on his chest and shakes his head, smirking a bit before looking to T'Challa once more before he says, "Wait. You're not the Squadron. Where am I?"

Dawn Granger has posed:
Dove nods at the notion of taking it slow, returning Wanda's glance with an encouraging dip of her head. She smiles gravely at the man, saying softly, "Earth. In Pennsylvania, under a nuclear power plant. Most importantly. With friends. You might need some right now." Addressing the others, "It might be time for us to get him out of here. I mean, not that we can't handle the ones left."

Karen Starr has posed:
The hands remain where they are- not necessarily pressing down onto the man's shoulders, but hovering just so, such that any attempt to sit up, just yet, is going to meet some intense resistance. She holds onto a stiff, serious expression all while Hyperion regains consciousness.

"She's right, for the most part. We're not the Squadron, we're nobody you've ever met before, but several of us are Avengers. You might have heard of us. Now, we are all quite curious, who are you, and what are you doing here? Do you have any idea how you ended up as a nuclear reactor?"

Hyperion has posed:
Shaking his head, Hyperion closes his eyes a moment, "We were fighting. Invaders who dressed in strange yellow outfits. They came through a portal." A pause before he opens his eyes, "Doctor Spectrum theorized that this portal was a way into our world from another....." he pauses, "Parallel.... dimension." he says, his words slowed down.
"The portal imploded. That is the last I remember, the energy of it washing over me."
His eyes slowly traverse the room, studying each of his rescuers for a brief moment before coming to Power Girl. He studies her and then inclines his head like a dog that just saw something interesting. "Your body. You store such energy. Similar but not precisely the same way that I do. But.. all of you. You have a resonance similar to the invaders. Is it possible that.. I have now somehow accidentally invaded -your- world?" he asks.
Then he looks up to Power Girl once more, "My name is Hyperion. I am going to sit up now." he says, before putting action to his words. His power levels are stabilizing now, and let's be honest... he has never met anyone who could hold him down if he wished to get up. "We should leave, as your friend said. I would like to learn mow about these... Avengers."
The way out is easy. There are no AIM members who remained. They fled through tunnels which were demolished, or by other means. Outside, he looks around and says, "I've nowhere to go." softly, mostly to himself. "This is truly a similar, but wholly different Earth. Do with me what you will. For I -am- technically an illegal alien to your world."
