Better known as Hawk, Hank was one half of the famous duo Hawk and Dove. Hank and his twin brother Don Hall were empowered by the Lords of Order and Lords of Chaos as an examination of the duality of the human spirit.

Stubborn, aggressive, and hot-tempered, Hank was a difficult teammate to get along with. His attitudes were often expressed with political extremism, often getting the Titans in trouble with his outspoken support for groups like the Brotherhood and their leader Magneto in their fight for mutant rights. His loyalty to the Titans was unquestionable and his terrific strength made him a valued front-line ally. For several Titans he was a valued confidant-- temper aside, Hank had a good sense of empathy and a knack for creative instincts.

Hank was injured badly by Doomsday when the alien's rampage entered Metropolis. After three weeks in a medical coma, he awoke to discover his brother was dead, Caitlin Fairchild had been taken out of the country by Diana Prince, and the Titans had stopped pursuing their work as heroes.

Afterwards he rarely spoke, if at all. The last he was seen, Hank had piled his and Don's uniforms on the ground in front of Titan's Tower and set them afire. After that he left Metropolis and has refused any connection with the remaining Titans since then.
