Tinyplot: Injustice For All

Barry Allen has posed:
After months of battling back and forth with the so called Injustice League, it would seem that the Justice League and their allies have finally caught a break.

After their latest raid on Belle Reve, after breaking free their captured colleagues and making their escape, the villainous collective seems to have finally made an error. Or at least had their tendancy to use portals to come and go come back to haunt them, as this time Superwoman managed to launch a probe through their latest portal and after some disruption, managed to track them.

To a rather unlikely locale. Of all places it would seem that their villainous counterparts have been hiding out in Slaughter Swamp on the outskirts of Gotham City. Certainly a suitably unpleasant environs to locate a headquarters to be sure.

The League and their allies no doubt waste little time, ensuring the area is blanketed by satellite coverage -- though unsurprisingly all sorts of interference seems to be coming from the site. Of course it won't take the League unduly long to arrive their either with all the various means at their disposal.

Certainly one of the first on the scene will be Barry Allen, the Flash, racing up from Lousiana and the site of Belle Reve to investigate just what they are walking into.

The swamp itself is much like one would expect. While the wintery weather might have mostly been wiped away, the swamp is marshy, footing tricky, paths few and far between as stagnat pools of water and dead, rotting vegetation tends to predominate, congesting what few ways there are few the area.

Even doing a little trailbreaking by superspeed is a little time consuming.

But finally, there up ahead, the apparent target of their search appears. In the middle of one of those stagnant pools of water, a dome of black perches like some sickly frog, draped in that same rotting vegetation that clings to it. Dark and ominous looking, it otherwise is still, with no sign given that anyone within is aware of the approaching heroes...

Monet St. Croix has posed:
This is it. Hopefully. The finale. Whatever their enemy's goals are, it's time for a stop to be put to them. It means that their enemies are ready for them, and are going to pull out all the stops. THere will be surprises on hand. Monet is flying with the rest of the gruop that's charging in on attack formation. She's spread out amongst the other fliers and away by several dozen meters and to the side. Using her telepathy to sweep ahead. Given the sheer number of magic users, telepaths, and those shielded against mental scanning that the group has run into, she's not necessarily expecting to pick up anything useful. However simply scanning ahead for 'blind spots' where she would pick up nothing was a tactic in and of itself.

She goes to fly along in an arc separating herself from the rest of the team. It means that when they run into hostiles, she's in a position where she can go to back up someone and pincer the attackers.. Or go down to help with those ground bound to give support. It's a fairly standard deployment maneuver.

Kate Kane has posed:
So the hidden base was in Gotham? Well, naturally the Bats would be involved in evicting them from their new locale. Which is why Batwoman was lurking there with... wait, is that a Bat-Boat?

Why yes, yes it is. Stealth-equipped and low profile with a silent running engine, what precisely you want when looking for the Injustice League in the swamps that they find themselves.

"Flash, it's Batwoman. Ready with the silent approach while Superman and the others bring the hammer. Just say the word." She keeps it short and sweet while she waits in position.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz has learned a thing or two in his travels and abscence, no new powers but cunning insight to help against his weakness, So it isnt Jonn who travels with the heroes, but tue Atom in a high tech Iet drone with leather goggles where most of Jonn is invisible and phased, shape shifted and physically appearimg as the small hero anf telepathically broadcasting an illusion to boot to see what they want tp see in case the smallest of details was missed.

Diana Prince has posed:
"Be ready for the unexpected." Wonder Woman's voice chimes in over team comm networks. "These villains like to believe they are ever a step ahead of us..."

The Princess of Themyscira stands within the interior of the invisible jet. the alien tech powered jet cloaked, and indeed invisible in the moment. Piloting the jet are two Amazon warrior women, both in dress uniform, save for their helmets which are set aside. Both women monitor the jet's sensors, systems, and report to Diana on minor alerts that they are observing so far.

diana stands behind them, donned in her Eagle armor, she holds her hands aside her hips, lightly flexing, and unflexing her fingers in to tightly gripped fists as she observes from behind the twin pilot chairs.

"I will deploy when a advantageous moment shows itself." She softly replies to her dutiful sisters seated before her.

The jet sweeps across the sky, unseen, its engine output at a minimal pace allowing the vehicle to move in a recon fashion over the swamplands.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Have they finally got the jump on the big, bad Injustice League? Will they finally be able to put an end to them once and for all?

Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, for one would not object. If nothing else it would be a measure of revenge finally for having been transformmed into a pig. And for having been tossed around. Even at Belle Reve he was nearly crushed by Giganta caving in the ceiling of the cell block on him.

And while he might have be rushed to safety at the last second, he is back in the fight, arriving with the rest of the team, dropping down to the ground from above to land in a quiet crouch near the more stealthy, infiltration team.

Some might say the squishies. Some. Not him of course.

Having reached out to contact his sister along the way, Ollie taps the comm unit at his either. "You on the scene yet Sis? Sending you our coordinates now," he murmurs, peering at the ominous structure close by. But surrounded by that dark pool of stagnant water. "We're going to have to wade through that, aren't we?" he mutters, as no dry pathway seems to present itself.

He probably should have hitched a ride wtih Batwoman.

Emiko Queen has posed:
A swamp was a horrible place. So a fitty place for a bunch of villains to hide out. Not an environment a lot of people would come nosing around in their bad guy business. So it wasn't entirely a shock to hear that's where they had set up their base.

But it wasn't going to be enough to stop those with the reason and detemination to venture into it's half-frozen depths to put an end to said sinister shenanigans.

While there wasn't much in the way of foliage there were still the gnarled trunks of swamp trees and their gangly branches allow for some means of avoiding the grudgy, gronky terrain, twisted roots frozen in the ground enough to keep it from toppling over. At least for the people that can't just fly at their leisure. Instead a grappling line tunks into one such tree, which creaks a little with age as the slender form clad in red reels up to land admist it's main bough. There she crouches, eyeing the dome still a modest distance ahead. One hand helps brace herself as Red Arrow taps her comm with a finger. "About 10 meters to your left, Green. Giving the sight a look over before we move in." A pause. "Would you believe swamp environment actually were a part of my training? Ninjas prepare to operate -anywhere-... and nature takes care of any bodies left in the mire."

She's using 'ninja' as a substitute just in case someone would take offense to 'ex-assassin'. It's not -that- far off, anyways.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann arrives with the crew coming from Belle Reve, no disguises or hiding for her. They already know she's part of it, no point in trying to pretend. Especially not with Grodd around. They've clashed a few too many times for her to comfortably be able to hide her mental patterns, especially lately.

So she flies right up to float in the air next to Clark, ready to provide the 'hammer' and draw the fire until others can get inside and start wreaking havoc. "Miss Martian on site, ready to ring the doorbell." Okay, so she's still working on the quips. Sue her, human-ing is hard!

"Do we have a plan of attack, or shall we simply start a full frontal assault on the dome?" After all the stealthing and attempts to sneak around, just breaking down the front door seems like an appealing option, but M'gann is deferring to the leaders on this one.

Barry Allen has posed:
"Copy that Batwoman. I don't think we're buying ourselves anything by delaying," Barry murmurs back over the comms as he peers through the murk at the dull finish of that black doom ahead that remains still, seemingly lifeless.

Yeah, he's not buying it either.

"I'm not seeing any signs that they're aware of our presence, but I find it tough to believe that they aren't," the Flash adds. Perhaps some of the others with enhanced senses or means of tracking down power sources might have been able to flag down some of the external sensors. But if they are out there, they are hidden well enough that a quick superspeed survey hasn't turned them up.

So while there is no real evidence that this is just waiting to be turned back upon them, it is probably best to be prepared for that eventuality. There was that inevitable delay between the portal passing through the portal and the signal reestablishing with Superwoman's scout craft -- likely a result of the magical forces at play.

But it is a good reminder that, thus far at least, the Injustice League has proven to have resources to very much match their own, including powerful magics and advanced technology.

The Flash shoots a tight smile towards the Emerald Archer. "You have to wade through the muck maybe. Some of us are fast enough to rush across the surface of it," he points out.

And then that's exactly what Barry does, stretching into an elongated red-yellow blur as he leaps forward, racing over that shallow, stagnant pool towards the waiting black dome.

Clearly they are going to go with the whole knocking down the front door. Oh, they number enough of the sneaky times who might choose to take a more nuanced approach to gaining access. But there is more then a little power on display here too.

But as might be expected, as the Flash races towards that sodden, sickly looking dome, it abruptly comes alive.

The air itself seems to hum, to vibrate and then a solid wall of concussive force simply radiates outward, slamming out across that stagnant pool, sending the sickly waters rushing outward ahead of it to drench the already sodden ground nearby. At it's first impact point, it is more then enough to slam into Barry, to draw him up short and then send him flying backwards, skipping over the now unsettled waters before slamming hard into one of the sickly trees that line the shore.

Lights suddenly flash to life on the dome, giving the entire structure the vague appearance of a menacing face, two large eyes outline by that glow and the entire base seems to swivvel in place, turning to face them as that hum in the air continues to build, to grow, a high-pitched whine beginning to join that more primal thrumming that rocks through everyone nearby.

That's probably not a good thing.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz keeps up the pretense quite well, broadcasting,"I say full steam ahead and damn the torpedoes..." and falls in right next to tbose who are flying, ready to use their "superior invulrnability" to "pilot the plane" behind them for cover. He slowly readies "Eject" on case the drone is shot down but will dodge and weave with seeming impossibpe skill if so.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
THe barrage of sonics doesn't -quite- catch Monet by surprise - they were getting ready for anything after all. So as soon as the seemingly hallucinatory, disorienting blast starts to hit Monet goes to do her best to mentally work through the others that have enhanced senses.. And then goes to try and work on a counter-pitch. It's not something that she can do over on her own - she can't remotely just whistle her way out of this with a matching counter-program.

But she can shut off that part of her brain that would respond to it. She goes to rapidly pass this along to the other telepaths with the group in case they feel it's necessary to do the same to the rest to help avoid if there's something nastier with it. Or likely Superman has some sort of Super-Whistle based ability he can use to counter the scrambling sonics emanating!

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman grits her teeth, but considering the tricks the Injustice League pulled before, was prepared for the sonics at least, quickly tapping something in her cowl to dampen it on her hearing. And that's when she slowly starts the boat out towards the dome, keeping away from the 'face' of it as she decides to try the low and slow approach. Trusting the stealth nature of the boat, which... well, /might/ be a mistake, but she doesn't exactly want to start wading.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Certainly Oliver has no probably just crashing through the front door.

He generally prefers to take that approach when it is something closer to an even playfield mind you. Given some of the foes that might be inside that structure, it's safe to guess that he won't exactly be on an even playing field at the very least.

He rarely is on these missions.

As Red Arrow emerges from the underbrush nearby, Ollie bobs his head at her. "Glad you could make it," he says quietly, if sincerely. "Though you might not be quite as glad. It'll probably be a messy one," he conceeds. As these things tend to be.

Then the blonde billionaire is glowering at his old friend as he races off, skipping across the surface of the pond as if it were solid. At least until he meets that wall of sound. Then he seems to come to a very sudden stop as he is instead hurled backwards.

"Well, I would say that answers the question of whether they know that we're here or not," Ollie says grimly, his bow sliding off of his shoulder in one smooth motion, an arrow nocked at uncanny speed and then released, flying true before exploding around that black dome.

To damage it? Maybe. Or perhaps just to give more cover as two more arrows fly in rapid sequence, each explosion providing a distraction if nothing else as the Emerald Archer races around the shoreline, looking to split up and approach from a different angle.

With a grimace, Green Arrow steps out into those cold, mucky waters, his boots almost immediately sinking several inches into the unpleasant muddy bottom, but he braces himself, pulls out another arrow and fires it at that dull, matte surface ahead of him. And when the arrow strikes home this time there is no explosion. Instead green, acidic goop spreads out in a puddle that begins to eat a hole in the side of the structure.

When in doubt, make your own access point.

Diana Prince has posed:
The Invisible Jet is making a wide sweeping turn around the northern edge of the swamplands, when the activity begins to grow in measure down below. "Remember our goal is not to escalate the situation. We want to find answers, encourage resolutions... and if we must, force our enemies to submit." The Princess' voice quietly rings out over the JLA channel.

But with activity growing in a direction that seems less likely for a peaceful resolution, the jet turns southward once more, its whining alien engines barely audible as it propels itself forward, quite a ways off the ground yet still, as the onboard sensors take in the sight of what is unfolding.

Diana, electing to make her appearance, simply fades in to view in the sky above, rapidly descending toward the swamp below.

Her armored boots impact a small natural landbridge over the muck and filth, leaving the Princess to stand there, contrasting in shining armor against the backdrop of a dank landscape. She observes the dark dome, from a good fifty yards out.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Red Arrow prefers the stealthy approach most of the time... but she's not about to try and stop anyone else from taking a more direct route. It allows her longer to observe, and formulate for herself.

Yes, she can 'observe' one of the Fastest Men Alive. Not directly of course, but the time she's spent with Impulse has helped her learn the cues she can, and look where she's expecting the Flash to go rather than try to follow him.

Up until the force wave knocks him off course and sends the swamp into a roiling mass of muddy water and mire, even when partially frozen. There's a wince at Barry being flung backwards. Then she grips her perch more firmly, as the wave is enough to finally wrench those roots free and the tree collapses down into the swampy terrain with her atop it.

"Well," she hops off before the tree sinks too deeply, finding a comparitively more stable stone to stand on while steeling herself against the eminations. "Now we know they left some security measures in place."

Red nods to Green, but doesn't immeadiately follow his charge. Instead she reachs for her own quiver to pull an arrow out, nock it, and take aim. It's fired in arc towards the black dome, but unlike her brother it's not a physical explosion. Rather hers detonates in an EMP shock in an attempt to scramble whatever cameras or sensors the base has in place, or what's generating that sonic emission.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Hovering, intangible against the concussive blast, M'gann shuts out the high-pitched whine of the sonic attack and focuses her not-inconsiderable mental abilities on the 'face' that's being show to them. Probing into the attack coming from the dome, where it's coming from, gaining insight into the emplacements around the dome that are emitting the sound.

She can't seem to pierce beneath the surface of the dome, but leaves that for later. Quickly sending out a mental image to all the Leaguers and Allies there.

<<I'm sending mental image of the emplacements around the dome emitting the sound. Focused attacks on the emplacements should destroy them and halt the sound.>>

Oliver gets shown one near to his position, Kate gets the image of another nearby hers. Superman gets one as well, and Emiko, too. The Atom gets an image of an emplacement. Even Diana, in her drop out of the jet towards the dome, gets a mental image of an emplacement that could be taken out from her trajectory.

<<Ranged attacks might be best, if those concussive blasts get stronger.>>

To Monet, she suggests they pool their resources and try a focused mental attack on the dome to try and crack the shell of psionic interference surrounding it. Whatever is going on beneath that dome, knowing what they're walking into is only going to be a boon.

Clark Kent has posed:
Superman was there. The call had gone out, and Superman has responded to Barry's call for help. The Assault on the Legion of Doom was about to begin, and there was no way Superman would not be there to help his team in this situation.

The Hidden Base was revealed. Superman allows himself a smile, knowing that they would not expect the heroes to show up on their doorstep like this. "Flash. I'm in position. Where would you like me? It's Hammer Time." Ok, Kal had been listening to some old 90s music. It happens.

Clark Kent has posed:
Superman was providing support, wherever he would be needed. It was good to see a lot of the best of the Justice League present, fighting the fight. With a nod, Superman waits for the battle to commence.

Barry Allen has posed:
Well, that pretty much went about as wrong as it could have.

Individual cannons, even lasers he might have been able to dodge with a minimum of difficulty. But a sheer wall of force is a little harder to avoid and in short order Barry is flying backwards, knocked asunder and left to slam into the tree with a wince and a pained grunt. Still, he gets back to his feet with only a little effort.

"Color me shocked. It's going to be the hard way then." Hands up from anyone that expected the Legion of Doom to go quietly, Anyone? Anyone?

The whine of those sonic generators only continues to build, adding another painful note to go along with those waves of concussive force that slam outward from the structure itself, though the heavy hitters at least seem to be able to tune it out, to resist the almost solid waves of force that slam outward.

Because while those defenses might be formidable enough, it will take a little more then sonic barrages to keep the world's most powerful heroes at bay.

So the counterstrike, as it starts to come, is effective. As one might have imagined. Red Arrow's EMP arrow bursts in front of that illuminated 'face' that fronts the ominous dome, dimming the lights there, dampening the sound and weakening those walls of sonic force that try to keep them at bay, though the emplacements unsurprisingly seem at least partially hardened against electromagnetic bursts.

But there is little hard enough to hold up against Kryptonian heat vision, especially when guided by Martian telepathy. Again and again those blasts of red descend from the skies above the swamp, searing down and melting the sonic emplacements until at last gaps begin to appear in that consistent barrage of concussive sound.

Gaps that allow Oliver to begin his approach, to start wading out into that pond of unpleasant water as the acid eats away at the outer layer of that doom, a sizable hole, easily large enough to crawl through burned into the metal in a matter moments.

Gaps large enough that allow J'onn and his drone to plummet past the defenses to near the headquarters of the Injustice League.

"I don't think these guys are big on de-escalating the situation Di," Barry says wryly as he regains his feet. "When we lock them away maybe we can insist that they attend courses. Increase their emotional I.Q. some," he suggests, rubbing the back of his head. "Ow."

For a moment at least, the exterior defenses seem to increasing collapse. Too easily? Perhaps. But then who knows what further surprises await them inside...

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz is meant to be a scout in this role, so he jumps out as the drone starts a distractionary path of apprpach and dodge until it lands and powers down to allow "A quick getaway" as he flies forward on a tiny jet pack with tiny jets bringikg him forward to land unannounced if possible seekijg a vent or emtrajce point or pipe.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The communication over from M'Gann is met with an acknowledgement from Monet along the mental bandwidth as the exterior defenses start to buckle. It seems all too easy. The Injustice League has never really relied upon external forces for defensive measures. Just to stall. But this is just attacking their base.. So maybe they've dug in? But it all seems like it's going so easily. Given the way that all the fights have been so far.. It doesn't seem like it will stay that way.

Monet goes to blast along in a loop, going to add to the barrage against the defenses, and hopefully as they go down the telepathic shielding does as well, and she can start to pick up things iwthin the interior if she's lucky. She goes to send out to J'Onn and to M'Gann <<Can you pick up anything from the animal life in the area?>> IT was still populated by insects, crocs, and Quebecois. So the far more practiced telepaths could get things that she couldn't. Even as she goes to backup Superman in case they're met with an ambush.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman decides that enough is enough, and then launches a pair of torpedoes from her boat at the rear of the base. Since the sonics haven't tracked on her boat's position just yet, she's trusting the stealth to hold up long enough for her to finish disabling the most external defenses. And possibly make a hole big enough for her to slip in and start infiltrating the base proper.

Clark Kent has posed:
That Kryptonian heat vision, directed by M'gann was doing its best, "Taking out as many of these emplacements as I can. Even I'm getting a headache. Thanks M'gann for the help." Superman concentrates, trying to give his team as much of a gap as possible for the next attack.

"I guess I'm providing overwatch. I'll keep firing the artillery and watching your backs everyone. Once more unto the breech, here we go!" Superman unleashes another barrage of heat vision.

"We know they will have something up their sleeves! Be ready!"

Emiko Queen has posed:
There was too many evil nerds in that group to be entirely unprepared for electromagnetics, but the sheer amount of tech and power they'd be using would make complete shielding difficult. So the results are satisfactory, if likely to be short-lived. "That was my de-escalating," Red Arrow replies wryly. "I'd suggest making use of it before they start escalating again." She hops off her rock and makes her way after her brother, able to manage the muck mostly by being light and agile enough to keep moving before sinking too much.

It doesn't need to be a big breach he's made, she's small and flexible she should be able to make use of it to get inside.

Complete stealth might be impossible but she's more than willing to take advantage of the big ruckus the heavier hitters are going to make to get a better grasp on what's up inside.

Oliver Queen has posed:
As that sonic wall of defense comes down, Ollie continues his trek through the mucky waters of Slaughter Swamp, grimacing as that water threatens to spill over the tops of his boots.

This is definitely not going to go down as one of his favorite missions, that's pretty much a given. "I want to fight the villains that have their bases on pleasant tropical islands. Maybe with a nice, white sand beach and crystal blue waters so we can have a little pleasant breather when it's all over. What's the point of being a villain if you're just going to hang out in a desolate swamp?"

"If you're going to provde reeducation to the bad guys, maybe you should give them some lessons on picking out their base strong hold," Ollie suggests, adding his own two cents over the comm.

Then he is joining his sister, making his way through the water as quickly as possible to slip through that gap in the outer shell of that menacing dome, taking stock of the interior.

Diana Prince has posed:
When the sonic emplacement information is given to her, explained as to the nature of what she's facing, Diana reacts by pulling a golden and silver javelin from her back. Clutching it in her right hand, she clenches its runic engraved shaft tightly before she wields it above her head. Waiting for the peak moment of opportunity in the pattern of the giant domed monstrosity's movements, Diana spaces her footing wide, the muscles of her legs flexing as she advances forward several steps, before unleashing the javelin with a grunt of exertion!

The silver spear tip twirls as the entire weapon soars through the humidity of the swampland's environment. It's sharpened Themysciran steel tip practically moving like a sonic weapon all its own, as it is sent directly in to the emplacement that Diana was warned of!

"Even if they do not take heed of our warning, it is our duty to offer it. We are the deliverers of peace and justice, we are bound to make the offer, even if they are bound to deny it."

A second after her response is given over comms, Dianaa's form is launched through the air, her body moving on an arch that takes it down toward the emplacement she'd just struck with her piercing javelin throw! Grasping hold of the weapon by its butt-end, the Princess yanks it free again, twirling it around her back and transfering it to her left hand before she begins to run toward another threat ahead!

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Working in conjunction with Monet, M'gann tries to aim a focused attack at the psionic dampener that's going to hamper at least part of their abilities once inside the dome. She can feel the effects lessening, but not enough to make it worthwhile to keep up the attack. Dropping it, she sends to Monet, <<We'll have to physically find the dampener and destroy it.>>

She offers a quick salute to Superman for the telepathic guidance system, then goes intangible to fly her way into the dome after the others. Her psychic powers may not work well inside, but that's far from all she brings to the table.

Besides, someone has to make sure Ollie doesn't end up a pig again.

Swooping down and inside the dome, she'll try to catch up with the invading party, sending one last mental message before entering.

<<There's a psionic dampener that will limit some of our abilities. If anyone can locate and destroy it, we'll be better able to assist.>>

Barry Allen has posed:
Again and again the Leaguer's pit their various skills, abilities and technology against the outer defenses of the Legion of Doom's outer defenses. Wonder Woman's javelin lashes out, Superman's heat vision slags those sonic projectors and even Batwoman adds her own toys to the mix, a pair of torpedos streaking across the waterline at the backside of the darkened dome, taking out another batch of emitters near the surface of the muck water -- and opening up another gap in the structure to give the attackers access to the base beyond.

And just what is waiting them? For the most part, darkened halls, lit by a bare minimum of light, most of which runs down the center of the corridor, leaving shadowy little nooks to gap ominously, filled with shadow and periodically spaced along the hallway that leads deeper into the structure.

Despite the seeming ominous shadows waiting for the first line of invaders into the base, nothing does immediately present itself as a threat.

Of course, while some approach from the bottom half of the structure -- Ollie, Emiko, Batwoman and soon enough the Flash as well, racing across those waters no longer having to worry about being swatteed away -- those seeking access from above, wehter via vents, tearing a whole in the structure or phasing through will find their way in as well.

But all will find it quiet. Far, far too quiet. It's never a good thing.

The darkened base occasionally branches off into subsections, the kind of things one would expect -- sleeping chambers, labs, meeting rooms, but the corridors all seem to lead to a central chamber where banks of computers line one end of the hall, a large sreen dominating that end of the room though it remains dark for now.

In the center of the room -- a long table, encircled by chairs. Solitary lights hang above the table, positioned just show to leave each seat shrouded in shadow. Then, as if by one, each of those chairs swivvel in place until the occupants of each are revealed.

Superman. Wonder Woman. The Flash. The Green Arrow. The Red Arrow. Miss Martian. The Martian Manhunter. Batwoman. M. Each of those who have come out to bring and end to the Injustice League today sits at that table. And as one, that rise up, expressions emotionless.

The screen at the far end of the room crackles to life, and present there sits Noah Kuttler, the Calculator, offering a pleasant smile. Clustered around behind him are a host of others, faces familiar. Grodd. The Reverse Flash. Dr. Psycho. Deathstroke. Dr. Polaris. And Ra's al Ghul.

Sorry we couldn't be there to greet you in person. But as you can see, I feel that we have arranged a suitable welcoming party. Though I suppose you may not be quite so pleased, I can at least promise you we will surely enjoy it. Ciao."

And with that the screen goes dark once more and the uncanny simulacrums begin to advance towards their opposites.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz does a remarkable imotation of Admiral Akbar as he shouts into the comms,"Its a Trap!" He moves to find the Damper, unsure why he feeps it is significant, triangulatong as best he can the source of central and greatest dampener, punching anything that gets in his way with just a LITTLE over the Atoms considerable strength.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
It takes her a few moments to realize what they're up against, and Monet St. Croix can't help but stare. "This is ridiculous. This sort of pastiche is practically vaudeville. What sort of pathetic drivel did you take upon for inspiration from this? Voyage of the Super Friends? Masters of the Galaxy? Saga of the Star Child? This is -banality-. One would have though that with your purported combined intellects you could have come up with something ingeniuos but instead you're reduced to banality. What's next, are you going to try and convince everyone that you're secretly heroic and we've had you under mind control the entire time to make people think you were evil?"

Monet's never had the experience of fighting herself when it wasn't in a Danger Room scenario. But she's focused mostly upon the sheer ridiculity of this and openly mocking their cooperating adversaries first. Then she goes to rapidly review the rapscallions and just can't flat out stare. Going to a defensive stance to fall back to run interference for the archers if they need it. Presuming that they'll be the priority target for the enemies as the most vulnerable in a melee of metas.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman blinks at the empty halls, and when the copies reveal themselves, along with the gloating villains on the big screen, she frowns a bit, pulling out a batarang she was saving for the central computers. But, well, if these are Amazo-style robots, this might work.

And so she tosses her EMP batarang into the middle of the table, hoping to catch them by surprise as, well... if they're robots, this might take some fight out of them. As it is, she shouts, "Mix it up. Don't engage yourself if you can help it!" Though with some of the heavy hitters, they might not have much of a choice.

But like her cousin, she does have contigencies. Even for dealing with something this absurd.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana was not overly quick to rush in to the shadowy interior of this strange swamp fortress. She spent a bit of time patroling the outer surface of the facility, as she found something to be off about the situation as a whole. None the less, however, she did enter through the holes punched through by Batwoman's weaponry, and found herself soon stalking down the dark interior corridors.

With her golden javelin angled across the small of her back, tip pointed down toward the ground, and her wedge heeled armored boots quietly impacting upon the hallway floors, Wonder Woman meandered the unsettling base with a determined caution.

She eventually appeared in the entryway of the meeting room as the screen deactivated, having heard the maniacle words from their off-site enemies prior to entering the room.

Seeing what enemies do await them, Diana raises her chin up, defiantly taking in a breath of air before she twirls her golden javelin around to clutch it in both of her leather wrapped hands, its silvery tip now pointed up to her right.

Diana spares a look to the others. "Make them submit. Take them in to custody."

She'll rush forward a moment later, her gilded weapon glinting within her grasp as she moves toward her mirror matched self!

Oliver Queen has posed:
The whole thing is rather eye-roll inducing, isn't it? But then maybe that's the point? Something cloying, something obvious. A distraction, to help take their eyes off the real prize.

And the real prize? They came here to finally take out the Injustice League. And if they're not here, then their real mission is to try and track down where they really are. That image on the screen came from somewhere, right? If the villains are gleefully watching them battle themselves, that signal has to be feeding back somewhere, correct?

So tempting as it is to just unload on his evil duplicate, that's pretty much what the bad guys want him to do. But Ollie can be an ornery type sometimes. Never doing what he's supposed to. It annoyed his parents. Now he can annoy the world's villains.

Probably a better target.

Reaching back, he draws and fires an arrow in a single motion, but instead of aimming for one of the evil duplicates, he fires it towards the bank of computers behind them, letting the arrow strike home into one of open sockets. "Overwatch, I've given you access to their computers. See if you can trace the linkup," he says over the comm.

Only then does he turn back towards the advacing horde, ready to join the fight.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann moves along the corridor with the others. Well, floats along? Slowly flies? It's neither here nor there, really. But she's here to support, to help, and wreck whatever needs to be wrecked.

When they enter the room at the end of the hall, she frowns faintly. This doesn't feel right. A trap, sure, but something is... off. Instinctively, she tries to reach out telepathically, only to be rebuffed by the dampener, causing a wince and a small shake of her head. Right. No telepathy. Okay.

Then the screen flickers to life and the villains are there, monologuing, as usual. The reveal of the copies is met with snark and force, which isn't unusual. But M'gann, she has a different idea. Scanning the copies as they stand, she uses her x-ray vision to try and determine if they're clones or robots or something else altogether.

THe results are surprising.

"NO! Don't engage! They're... hard light constructs. Something has to be emitting them. Controlling them. Find the controls! If we can take out whatever is creating them, they'll shatter on their own!"

M'gann doesn't waste time with her own 'copy', ignoring it completely as she starts to search the room itself. Looking for whatever has assembled and is controlling the constructs.

Emiko Queen has posed:
It's quiet inside. TOO quiet, even for the one that prefers stealth and subtly. There is little time to concern over that though, as Red Arrow just engages the lowlight vision filters in her mask and keeps moving.

Nothing about this feels right. Such a powerful external offense, but no one waiting to rush the heroes dealing with it? That there's not even some manner of mook patrols or drones inside? None of this is adding up, and it's making her more on edge rather than less while slinking through what is apparently a well accomidated hive of scum and villainy.... other than the lack of villains.

Until they finally come upon the main chamber with the table and oversized chairs. By this point Emiko isn't taking anything at face value though, which proves to be true when the occpants of the chairs turn to reveal some very familiar faces. She tilts her head a bit and snorts. "Well, we can add copyright infringment to their list of crimes."

With that, she's on the move. Holograms according to Miss Martian. So more of a confusion tactic, in hopes of getting them to get lost and friendly fire each other? Something like that. But instead of engaging directly she darts off to the side, trying to keep some attention on her rather than others trying to find their source. "Let's see if you knock offs can really keep up."

Barry Allen has posed:
Once more the scene explodes into chaos as tends to happen when the two equal and opposite Leagues come clashing together. And once again the Justice League and their allies prove their resillience with their differing methods to meet and combat the situation.

Of course they have Superman outside, hovering above, keeping a watchful eye on the situation as it plays out below, insuring the matters are in hand. And outwardly they certainly are.

Such things can quickly prove to be an illusion.

Within the central chamber of the Legion of Doom, a few choose to disregard their advancing duplicates, though each for good cause. In J'onn's case it is to seek out those psychic dampeners that are inhibiting the groups true sensory potential, as might be imagined the device is indeed to be found in the room. Acting swiftly, J'onn can surely smash it readily enough before anything can truly get in his way.

Ollie likewise has an interesting idea, keeping his eyes on the prize and as that arrow strikes home, as he calls upon the services of Team Arrow's tech expert, Overwatch will soon find herself pitted against the Calculator, striving to track down the Injusice League thanks to their arrogant little slip, their desire to watch the fall of their enemies.

Even before Miss Martian announces that their foes are nothing more then hard light constructs -- illusions, in essence, those ones that can surely still hit hard enough with no safeties involved -- Batwoman's tossed EMP batarang likely gives them some clue as it slams into the table, sticking there and vibrating back and forth slightly. And while the EMP pulse might not knock out the holographic projectors all on it's own, the images confronting them do flicker for a moment before resolving once more.

Resolving and racing as a collective towards the one amongst them who leaps to the forefront. Wonder Woman might intend to take on her 'evil double' only, but as the first into the fray she instead finds herself confronted by the entirety of this illusionary League. Superman lashes out with heat vision. Her own duplicate flanked by a pair of Martian's close in while the archers and the fraudulent Batwoman draw beads on the Amazon Princess with those bows and batarangs.

Not exactly a fair fight.

Though not every hologram goes after her, as M is instead confronted by herself -- who, sure enough, does indeed seem to be seeking out the weaker links in Green Arrow, Red Arrow and Batwoman, soaring across the room and finding herself intercepted by the mutant powerhouse.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian scans the room, seeking out those holographic emitters. Which she does indeed find. Dozens and dozens of them scattered about the room in layers, no doubt specifically to keep from being easily knocked out.

But she also spots a much bigger problem. Down, beneath the surface of the water that surround the dome, in the bowels of the complex, a nuclear generator powers the entire base. And it's reactor is currently going into meltdown.

That, it would seem, was the real trap all along.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz doth indeed seened the formerly coherent psychic dampner to so much scrap and if successfup immediately does a wide range scan to see if amy Villain had the hubris to watch live amd snatch their mind like a pupet if so, It is ossible they saw through his ruse, or, it is possible the league has a mole. He intends to find out.

Diana Prince has posed:
Even if the shadow enemies of the Justice League ARE Hard Light constructs. Someone has to face off against them to keep them busy while others find the source of the light projection, and shuts it off.

In this instance, it seems Wonder Woman is tasked with a large portion of that defense against the dangerous imagery.

Diana notes the flickering forms for a moment, but there is little one can do to brush it aside, when the attacks come.

The heat vision hits her left bracer with a powerful burst of sparks, and the metal of her Aegis bracer glowing brightly in the aftermath of the intense temperature spike. but she's flying from that spot with a graceful acrobatic movement that leaves her body tumbling through the air, vaulting from feet to hand, to feet again, before she launches her javeling toward the source of the arrows that she narrowly avoids the sharpened tips of. The arrows fly past Wonder Woman, who darts with a blinding level of speed!

She lashes out with her lasso, not to take the fight to them directly, but to buy her team time.

"We should go!" Diana tells the others. "This place can be destroyed from the outside, there is no success here!" She expresses as she tries to keep their mirror enemies busy with darting movements, protective blocks with her bracers, and sliding advoidances of incoming attacks, her armored boots gliding across the ground as she moves.

"Retreat back the way you came!" Wonder Woman advises the team.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
As her eyes widen at the nuclear reactor secretly built underground with the hidden base in the swamp no top of it meant to conceal it for hte purposes of an ambush involving holographic constructs to keep them pinned, Monet twitches. Then she goes to swear a kilometer a minute in Arabic that would steam the ears off anyone that would be able to translate it. Given the vast tonal differences between that language and English, even grasping the intent might be somewhat difficult for one not familiar with it.

But, she's going to fly along with the rest while trying to setup a group meld so that they could coordinate shutting it down quickly amongst themselves. Keeping up the mental link so that M'Gann and J'Onn could focus on shutting it down or picking up information from further along to work on it.

Even as she's simmering in midair while doing her best to keep up. Boiling over then and building up to a suppressed rage that for now she keeps contained from distracting herself over the fight as the group withdraws and is on a tihgt timeline from something that if allowedt o happen..

Could actually improve Gotham.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann is quick to finds dozens and dozens of emitters, making her sigh before starting to formulate a plan on mass eradication of them, even as she continues to scan for more. Or for anything else for that matter. And oh boy, does she find 'anything else'.

"We have a situation. There is a nuclear reactor beneath our feet that has begun the meltdown process. I don't suppose anyone is versed in nuclear reactor operations? I'm afraid that my majors are in linguistics and international relations..." Pausing, she glances to the rest of the heroes gathered. "Anyone that isn't immune to nuclear blasts or radiation should clear out. NOW. I'll have to open a hole to the reactor and I have no idea how well shielded it is. Or if its leaking."

Leaving them to stay or leave as their recklessness versus their heroics demand, M'gann will start to telekinetically force an opening into the floor, peeling back layers to make an open route to the reactor. It isn't SAFE, but it's as safe as she can make it.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman looks at M'gann, "I can try. Get Superman ready to toss this thing into orbit though, just in case." She looks at the holograms harassing Wonder Woman, "Diana, have some backup!" With that, she tosses another device in the midst of the holograms, before leaping down the hole that M'gann makes, cape spread melodramatically because...

Look, she's Batwoman. Even in the face of nuclear armageddon, it's a /thing/.

The device, meanwhile, beeps a little, then suddenly Superwoman flies in out of nowhere, hovering over the holograms as she says, "Why don't you pick on someone your own size, creeps!" She flexes, then flies towards the hard light constructs, looking to distract them from their current target.

Not exactly a cardboard cutout, but it should hopefully keep the heat off the rest of the League while they get the data. Or stop the explosion.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Somehow the revelation that their evil duplicates are just holagrams doesn't come as any huge surprise. Certainly it is the sort of advanced technology that they have called upon before, probably a trick out of Abra Kadabra's arsenal. Or one of the other advanced tech geniuses the Injustice League has access too.

But while their foes might be illusionary, they would still seem dangerous enough judging by the way that Diana's bracelets glow under the assault of that heat vision.

Definitely not worth the fight in truth, though Ollie keeps his gaze flickering between the port where that arrow still emerges from and those illusionary foes, making sure that nothing disrupts that effort to track them down.

Still, it leaves him at least somewhat free to continue to lend a hand as Diana orders that retreat -- something the Emerald Archer is more then willing to entertain. Even moreso when Miss Martian shares the news about the overloading nuclear reactor. "Yeah, I'm pretty good with bailing, provided that we can do something about that explosion. I know we're a little ways from Gotham, but that's still too close. If now one can stop it, maybe it's time for Big Blue to do more then melt face," he suggests tightly, backing towards one of the exits as he lets arrows fly, trying to help keep the holograms from overwhelming Wonder Woman.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko Queen abruptly stops at the edge of the chamber and pivots on a heel. Her arms snap up... but it's not with the bow and arrow that would be expected, that the doubles are most likely to be replicating. Instead its with several knives that she throws with the same deadly accuracy at the hardlights that have given her chase. Thrown in a quick and specific pattern that they will be hard to all shoot down, because she knows that what she or her brother would do. If the doubles are intended to imitate and emulate them? That can actually be exploited rather than struggled against. Even if the knives aren't going to inflict much damage, it's keeping attention away from the members of the team getting to the bottom of the real matter.

Which turns out to just be one gigantic boobytrap intended to explode. Via nuke. "Wow. I know Gotham can be a craphole but nukes this close to it is pretty low even for supervillains."

She doesn't need to be told twice, already backtracking away. "The faster we clear out, the faster the big hammers in the group can deal with that nuke." She throws a few more knives as she backs off, mainly to force the holo-doubles to keep responding to attacks and not be able to move to box them in from retreating to safety.

Barry Allen has posed:
While they might have decided to beat a strategic retreat, given the news of their imminent deaths in a nuclear explosion, that doesn't mean that they aren't able to accomplish a few important things first.

In J'onn's case, he finishes tracking down that psychic dampener and thoroughly smashes it, finally unleashing the full potential of several members of the team. With that new freedom, it isn't hard to scan the area for any hint of where their foes might be. But while the area is chock full of lesser intelligences, animals of all sorts, it would seem that any observation by their foes is being done from very far away.

Perhaps to be expected, given the imminent nuclear meltdown. A few of them might be able to survive that kind of thing. But not most.

Nor does Barry simply stand back as the others work to deal with the rapidly escalating situation. Instead as Miss Martian identifies the sites of those hard light projectors, he is racing through the room once more in that customary red-yellow streak, smashing those that he can get to. In particular he focuses on those around the computer access port where Ollie's arrow still juts, making sure that the connection cannot be easily severed. Then he is racing past the rest of the group, moving down their escape route to smash any projectors in the hallways beyond so that their hard-light attackers can't follow or reform in the way to block them.

With the rest of them starting to beat a retreat, those constructs continue to push them hard, though as they retreat towards the narrower confines of the passage, they also reduce the sheer amount of area that has to be defended. And with Batwoman tossing out her own holographic surprise in the form of Superwoman, the group is further reinforced, further defended, in particular taking on her 'relative' in the hard-light Superman.

More, as their retreat starts to take them into the passageway where Barry has already disabled the projectors, their attackers have to break off those attacks, lingering in the entrance way behind them, staring after them with those coldly emotionless expressions.

Outside, warned of the impending potential disaster, Superman streaks down from the sky, plunging down through that mucky water and into the muddy earth below, headed towards the base of the dome's structure and overloading reactor there. Ready to rip the entire thing out of the ground if Batwoman cannot find a way to stop the meltdown in time.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz immediately adds the strength of his will amd mind and vision to the shared link, while pushing his telekinetic shielding of anyone he cam see to the max.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Following Kate down towards the reactor, M'gann offers, "I can shield you while you work, stay with you to ensure if anything goes wrong that we both get out. Please do not be alarmed." Dropping the intagibility, M'gann instead floats directly behind Kate and opens a surface level link with her, so she can follow Kate's thought process and movements. And using that connection, she will carefully form a very focused telekinetic shield around them, one that's thin enough to wrap over Kate's hands and arms like a pair of gloves, so she can continue working.

Doing so, however, takes nearly all of M'gann's focus. It means that she's putting everything into this telekinetic shield and a minimal telepathic link. Enough to broadcast and recive messages, but little else.

<<I have Batwoman secured. She is working on the reactor. I will update shortly. Please move yourselves to a safe distance.>>

Diana Prince has posed:
With some of the Hard Light enemies chasing after their fleeing team members, Diana sweeps her eyes over to see M'gann descending through the floor toward the nuclear reactor below. "Do what you can, Miss Martian. But we must evacuate this facility in the shortest route possible." 62 miles up.

"Kal. I know that you are already on it, but it must be said anyway. Space this place." Wonder Woman tells the man from Kansas. "We have little time, and the fallout is not something we can risk."

Another incoming attack is blocked by Wonder Woman's bracer, before she spins around, drawing her sword from behind her back and delivering its blade not to the attacker, but to a bank of light projectors, intending to kill the source of the villainous mirror fighter attacking her.

Radiation, nor space, are a concern to Wonder Woman.

"The invisible jet is hovering near. If one needs it as a safe haven, simply call out and it will become visible to your eyes." She tells the others over the comms, as she dashes toward another bank of light projectors, striking them with her sword in a heavy slashing motion!

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman smiles, "Thanks M'gann..." She might have a few errant thoughts because, well, it's a bit hard not too at first, but then she focuses on the task at hand. And she works with a speed and thoroughness that Bruce would be impressed by, even as she uses every bit of technical knowledge she has.

Fortunately, she's an expert at demolitions. Which thankfully does include defusing them as she focuses on the nuclear reactor controls. "Sloppy... sloppy and hasty, they didn't plan /that/ far ahead..." She keeps working, watching the radiation levels and the stability of the reactor as she doesn't give up. Because she's not going to let a nuke go off right next to her home.

Not now. Not ever.

Emiko Queen has posed:
It's a strategic matter of clearing their way out, between holding off the doubles and disabling their projectors so they can do so. Red Arrow has no problem with this, considering there's a ticking nuclear bomb right under their feet. That and she's making sure Oliver keeps up.

Oliver Queen has posed:
The situation with the nuclear reactor seems to be in as good as hands as they can manage and seeing as Ollie is not a nuclear physicist and can't add much to the whole process himself, he is willing to clear out of the way with the others. So he tromps alongside Emiko until they reach that egress point, joining the others onboard Diana's Invisible Jet, looking on with some small anxiety as the seconds tick away and they get closer and closer to disaster.

Barry Allen has posed:
Even as most of the League and their allies clear out of the ominous dome that is on the verge of exploding, the ground around it shakes a little -- something that is probably even more apparent to the two remaining within the structure itself -- though by now they are beneath the surface of the earth. But then that shaking is almost surely caused by Superman's burrowing as he positions himself, readying himself to lift the entire base free of the swampy muck and hurl it up into space.

Within the reactor room itself, shielded by the radiation thanks to Miss Martian, Batwoman can track those seconds as they tick away, until Kal-El will have no choice but to rip the whole dome free of the earth and hurl it into space before Gotham suffers the consequences of the meltdown.

But no pressure or anything.

The Injustice League might have more then it's fair share of geniuses, but the fact that they clearly had to clear out just moments before the Justice League arrived shows here, in this jury-rigged effort and sure enough, with a good minute to spare the resident Bat on the team manages to bring the reactor back under control, the exposed rods plunged back into the waiting cooling system as the read line begins to sink back towards safer temperatures.
5rCrisis adverted.

Moreso, the battle between Overwatch and the Calculator seems to come to an end as well as the link is finally severed. But not until coordinates are sent on to the rest of the League. The real location of the Injustice League right at the moment. Coordinates that will be familiar to some of them. A place they have been before, right before the full threat of the Injustice League was revealed.

The dark heart of Africa. Gorilla City.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz telekenetically gives everyone a lift who needs one, but is troubled. Who does he share his susicions woth? Or should he share it at all....

Monet St. Croix has posed:
As the group disengages on teh Invisible Jet, Monet is quiet. This point.. "The number of times that we have been ambushed points ot something more involved than merely telepathic skuldudgery or electronic spying. I fear that there is a mole within our group. We've been hit too many time sover in advance now. The amount o fpreparation this scenario involved, the timing, the predictability.." She's paranoid.

But she may be on to something.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman keeps working on the console, having pried off the control panel so she can dig right into the circuitry and start cutting wires with clinical precision. All the while the countdown is ticking down. Seconds draining away before the point of no return.

Then, just as M'gann is about to rip them both out of there so Superman can launch the trap into deep space... Kate finds the purple wire. And smiling in victory, she cuts it.

0:00:04.2

The indicator flashes as it stops, the reactor slowly settling back down into a measure of stability as Kate takes a deep breath. "That... was too close. Please tell me that we got the data we needed?"

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann stays put with Kate, trusting in the supreme training of the Bats to win the day.. but with a backup plan in case something goes awry. Because even the Bat Family can't anticipate EVERYTHING all the time.

Still, she's waiting patiently, allowing Kate to work on the bomb, sending soothing, focusing mental waves through the link. Helping her to focus on the problem, not the timer. And perhaps it helps! Kate manages to end the threat, the reactor starting to go back into cooldown, stabilizing.

M'gann will carry Kate out through the telekinetic bubble, ignoring any lingering remains of of the hard light copies, but picking up Batwoman's holographic projector of Superwoman along the way. Once they exit the sphere, she deposits Kate back at her boat and sends out the all clear.

<<Crisis averted. Superman, please launch the dome into the sun where it can't hurt anyone else.>>

To Kate, she smiles, "We're going to Africa. You're welcome to join the party. I look forward to seeing Safari Batwoman." Then she's flying off to join her uncle so they can discuss the recent attacks and what it all might mean.

Barry Allen has posed:
And with the all clear given, with Batwoman and Miss Martian escaping the confines of the Legion of Doom, Superman begins to lift it free of the earth.

Even with the countdown to nuclear disaster stopped, it still represents a danger aso long as it is here and while it is possible they could make it give up more secrets, the risks are just too great.

So with that impossible strength the Kryptonian hero begins to lift it skyward, at a crawl at first but with increasing speed until the entire structure rises up out of the swamp, streaking skyward until finally vanishing from sight entirely, disappearing pas the edge of the atmosphere high above to be deposited in the sun where it can do no further harm.

Now it's on to Africa for the League and their allies. And to find out just why Solovar and the apes of Gorilla City are harboring his old enemy Grodd and his allies.
