Date of Scene: 08 October 2021
Location: A gloomy mansion outside Gotham.
Synopsis: Kind of hard to tell if this was a win for good or evil. Some bad folks all around. Anyway Mairin has a job!
Cast of Characters: Thomas Blake, Michael Hannigan, Tynan Ireton, Mairin Moran
Tinyplot: Theme_of_the_Crime

Thomas Blake has posed:
the producer of Theme of the Crime had made a request of Thomas Blake. A fan of sorts had an item the producer wanted to rent for the season finale. The fan was a devotee of theme criminals. Therefore thomas was dressed in his classic Batman rip off outfit. Michael Hannigan was accompanying him in his guise as Music Master, a popular character on the show. After a few beers, some autographs and a cheese platter the rental should proceed smoothly...

or maybe Blake would steal the item or beat on the guy till he agreed? The producer felt pretty confident Blake would not return empty handed.

Catman pulls their company car up to the gate, peers then gets out. He looks at the mansion beyond, then the claws extend and he tears ivy away from a plaque that reads, "Blake Manor." He ponders it for a long moment, cowl pulled back. "I live with a succubus... so obviously God has t in for me... not that he did me any favors before. C'mon Music Master... let's meet this fanboy and get back my gear."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Opposing the cowled man is one in a Will Scarlet-esque outfit. As a member of the entertainment industry, Mike is no stranger to odd requests. And he's done Make a Wish a few times already so, if he just tells himself that the person they're meeting is just one big kid, the request to come in costume is not that odd.

And at least he got to talk the folks out of making him wear the hat. The wavy haired musician looks over to Thomas. "I guess I got pulled in with this via guilt by association then." He comments, giving a shake of the head, he closes the door on his side. "Just, how often did you use the gear this guy is supposed to have?"

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Well, Nettie did warn Ty. Ty had gone home, got her gear, and pulled out her Ducati streetfighter. The woman went through her armory, and got a few...toys to bring as well. As the motorcycle pulls up to the gate, one can see that this is sombody who might actually fit in Gotham. The figure is wearing semi-loose military pants with slightly armored shoes, an upper torso princess cut body armor over a fitted shirt, and a sleeveless long coat with a cowl. There's a picture of Shiva the Destroyer wth Bahb Cartha perched on his shoulder on the back of the coat. The cowl is pulled up, and held in place by a half face mask that covres the person's mouth.

"Hello gentlemen.", she says through the digital masker. "Should we wait for Lord Locksley to arrive before dealing with this?", she asks. Yes, Ty went there. Then she settles herself a it before she looks at the mansion. She pulls out a small scope, and tries to look at the mansion a bit more, thinking. She's now settling into professional mode.

Mairin Moran has posed:
Mairin is working. I mean, of course she's working. It's really all she ever does. But in this instance she's working somewhere she'd really rather not be. Gotham? Well... yes. But even worse than just ordinary Gotham. This is some random idiot's... lair. Or is it a sanctum? No... That sounds too nice. This is more like a lair. But back to the point. She's working...

And she's scared. Scared wnough to show it? Of course not. Outwardly she is a model of focussed intesity. This is no different from every other job, she keeps telling herself. If every other job was to fix some idiot's stupid, out-dated, piece of crap cat! But just gte it done. Do what you have to do and do it well. That's all. But inside.. Inside she's scared. And angry. Very angry. Because this idiot could have just called her and asked. But he had to force her into a car like she was some animal...

Thomas Blake has posed:
Wendall Dodds paces about in his prized Cat-man outfit. He glances over at Mairin and makes a fist, claws popping out as he does... ow. He looks over at Marin, annoyed. "I will severely reprimand you my girl if you make one more crack about fixing my cat. Oh joy! I have guests..." He peers at a CCTV camera showing the front of his gate.

A minute ago... Thomas glances at Mike and says, "You forgot the haaaaaaaaaat."

He blinks at Tynan as she pulls up and gets first quip in. He assesses her and immediately realizes she's better armed than North Korea and about as approachable.

"Uh-hunh look here... I planned on going in there and retrieving some personal property from the owner... Could you please wait til we conclude it before you blow the place up or kill him? Whatever. I just need a few minutes to do this. Maybe a half hour. I'll even let you in with us. Just say you're on season two of Theme of the Crime. "

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike turns his head as the voice speaks up, greeting them. Being his attire doesn't COME with a cowl, the eyebrow arching is not lost to those paying attention. He turns his head towards Thomas. "That's WHY I said no to the hat..." He murmurs.

Small victories.

He glances back, assessing Tynan, "Makes sense. They'd probably think of some marksman character if there's a season 2." Big if.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty blinks a few times as she listens to the pair. She rubs her eyes a little bit. "Ok, well, I have a job to do in there. It involves getting a young woman out of there, unharmed. As for whatever season of whatever is, not my concern.", she says. "And if there's cameras around, you better state that now, and turn them off.", she says. There's a glare there. Maybe a frown, but given the mask...

Ty turns her attention back to the mansion, watching it closely. What lights are on, any shadows, obvious traps, and how much area is seen versus unseen on the approach. The woman kills the engine, and moves the motorcycle off to the side.

Mairin Moran has posed:
"Look, this thing is a piece of trash. Why don't you just let me build you a new one? I figure maybe... just maybe... I can get enough of these servos working to get it walking, but without knees. You want knees? Then I need more motors. And that's not even starting on the power core. I--" She stops as one of the thugs threatens her. ANd goes back to work, muttering to herself. How much of it is bravado? Hard to say. Deep down, she might even be kind of enjoying the work. It isn't often she gets to get dirty anymore.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake frowns a moment. "Stop glaring at me. I been glared at by the best. I been glared at by a she demon for leaving the seat up for her to fall in... even funnier the second time." The cracked ribs were not. He leaves that out. "C'mon... I'll show you the Catacombs. There was a main entrance he probably has bugged but I had a couple escape hatches..."

Cat-Man looks at the screen... "Where'd they go... oh my gosh... he's infiltrating!" he grabs at Mairin's arm. "I'm being trespassed by my favorite villain!!! Squee!!!"

The Catacombs are in fact several huge connected rooms. Entering them the trio sees enough collected theme criminal weapons and paraphernalia to rearm Dr. Doom, should it prove necessary. In the main room a man not built for a Cat-Man costume nonetheless is wearing it and hurling abuse at two thugs and a diminutive lass in a pony tail working on a giant robot cat. "Wendall Dodds... I advise you to let that young lady go and let us have the robot for what was agreed on. How about it?" The thugs pull Uzis and aim them.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike frowns at the mentioning of there being a need to get someone out of the building safely. Glancing back to Thomas. "...Sounds like this guy might be TOO much of a fan." Mike mutters. Insisting on people coming in costume is one thing. But doing something that merits someone sending in a rescue... well. That's a bit much.

He looks to Tynan, "What does she look like?"

Thomas shows them through the Catacombs. Getting a glance of all the memorabilia accumulated in the rooms they pass through. The fiscally responsible portion of Mike's Psyche screams. Oh God. HOW much did this all cost?!

Description given of the woman or not, it becomes apparent what she looks like when they reach the final room. There are not many unarmed options of the female variety in the room. Speaking of unarmed. So is he at the moment. And he's in human mode.

Shit.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty shakes her head a bit, and then looks to Mike. She gives him a quick description of Mairin as they walk through. As they walk through, Ty also looks at a few of the items there. God, if she wasn't working right now, a few things might of disappeared. Oh well, possibly later. Well, not really. Ty has agreed to be good for a bit.

As they move into the room, the two thugs aim their uzis, the woman reflexively puts her hand under her long coat. She makes a quick motion inside the coat before her arm comes back out. There's a gauntlet on her hand/arm that wasn't there before. The woman brings her arm up towards her head, defensively.

Ty lowers herself a little bit, and slips her other hand inside her coat for a second, and makes another motion. She pulls out a M1911 Colt, but keeps it under the coat. "Be good gentle lads, and hand the lady over, and nobody dies. I'm not here to kill anyone. Just here to get the girl, and leave. Thats it.", she states.

Mairin Moran has posed:
Mairin jerks her arm out of the man's grasp and just tries to scootch around the other side of the cat. Still working, mind you. She's not about to let a little thing like being rescued get in the way of trying to make this rustbucket actually function again. It's a challenge now. And she can't resist a challenge. Unless of course that challenge has anything to do with anything other than engineering. But if it does! She is all over it.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake takes in the devices, umbrella guns, freeze blaster, moth signal, catarangs... What the Hell... that was his original equipment, diamond tipped and capable of cutting one of the Bat's d-cel lines. "Just a sec..." He pulls a lockpick out.

Cat-Man seeks cover and says, "If they move shoot. They're trespassing. I'm afraid, Catman I have no intention of giving up Fluffy. I wanted to get YOU here to demand the title from you. I mean you're not using it anymore, are you?"

The case opens with a click. "What's that? You et the title one of two ways. Beat me in combat or with my death, dumbass." Wendall jumps onto the cat robot.

"Chaaaaaaaaarge!!!"

"I kind of figured you'd go for death, dumbass." Fluffy groans and grinds forward."

"Dumbass!!! You got the parking brake on!!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike blinks as the woman that supposedly is suppsed to get rescued seems a bit more interested in other things. "...Are you sure she wants to leave?" He asks Tynan.

As the back and forth banter between The Real Catman (TM) and Cat-Man starts up, Mike ends up shifting to the side to let the goons and wannabes focus on those actually engaging in combat. So Guys with guns, Gal with Gun. Gal who wants to work on the cat robot. Guy on the cat robot trying to charge Thomas with it. And Thomas goading him on... Right. This is going to be a busy area.

With the high sound of the grinding noise, Mike grimaces, bringing his hands up to cover his ears. Oh God! What a HORRIBLE SOUND!

With a Furl of the red and black cape, Mike spins, the mismash of reds and black giving an almost hypnotic dance as they seemingly reverse. Interesting how that looks. That's some fabric style. But the cape soon rests, as Mike's spin stops. The lions on the pattern seem off from before. Little spin on the *ahem* catwalk done, he starts striding towards Mairin. No Cat robot to fix... No reason for her to be here, right?

"Miss." Mike addresses, giving the patented Nick Drago charm to his tone. He holds out a hand towards her. "It's time to make our leave."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty winces a bit as she hears the grinding. "Trust me lad, when this is over, she's going to wish she never got here.", the merc promises. Oh no, Mairin is going to get an education on how to not be abducted. And its never a fun course! The woman looks at the men with the uzis. "Last chance. Drop and leave.", she tells.

Ty lowers herself lightly into a combat pose. "AVALON!", she yells out. The energy shield on her forearm flares to life. Its about the size of a standard shield, quite a bit bigger then a buckler. Ty slowly advances as she draws the pistol out. Her focus is on the uzi goons.

Mairin Moran has posed:
The cat robot lurches into motion and Mairin screams at almost the exact same pitch. But she still has enough wherewithal to jump backward and hide behind a large... mouse? "I haven't finished yet!!" she screams after Catman. "The power lines are all frayed!"

As Mike walks up and galantly offers his hand, Mairin wheels on him. "Tell that idiot that it isn't fixed yet! I still have to calibrate the bearings!

She turns back to the cat-men.. "STOP!"

Thomas Blake has posed:
The big thug fires a single shot that pings off Tynan's shield. He looks at the smaller man, who looks back. They shrug and run for it. "You should have sprung to medical, Wendall!!" he yells over his shoulder.

Thomas gets up from behind the case, "I'm a little busy right this moment. Hang on." He dives out of the way of Fluffy, who destroys several display cases as Cat-Man attempts to stop it and turn around. He frowns at the smoke coming from... where you'd expect it. Eeew.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike's head cocks to the side as he listens to Mairin's protests and mhmms. "Right. Okay, I'll tell the idiot that after we move you a safe distance away. Because that person over there..." He gestures towards Tynan, "I would not be surprised if they shot more holes into what you were working on IF you stay within range of all this when all this is going on."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty takes a moment to watch the men run away. Ok, so those two have brains. Good for them. Less murdery tonight. The woman smiles behind her mask before she walks over to Mairin. She glares down a long moment. "Mairin, get up. We're going to have a very very long converstion about my contract, and having to save you from abduction. HOW DO YOU GET ABDUCTED?! Don't they teach you how to not get kidnapped in science school? Or is there a class that requires you to learn how to be kidnapped before you get a degree...", she says. Ty isn't happy.

She nods her head to Mike, and starts helping Mairin up, while keeping her shield between the Kittehs.

Mairin Moran has posed:
"But..." Mairin sputters and gestures at the smoking robot. "Look at what he *did*!!!" She flails her arms but lets Mike lead her away. "I was so close," she confides. "I just had to align the rotors and calibrate... and maybe put in a few more power conduits... And now it's all ruined..." She really does sound like she might just cry.

She looks up as Ty approuches and starts lecturing her. And her face slowly morphs from outraged.. to confused. "Laili?"

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake watches the robot being taken through a K-turn. He knows the cat's skin is at least 50 millimeters of armor but he throws the catarang. Ah so much better balance than the newer models. The catarang k-Tangs off the side of the robot as he turns it around and slips off the side. He lands on the floor with the saddle, its belt slashed by the catarang.

Cat-Man looks up at Catman.

"Yeah... I was going to get that costume off you too... <sniff sniff> Second thought -you can keep it. You will be happy to know... that is actually my robot. It should have been dropped into the Atlantic. So... you received stolen property out of the police yard. And you have similar swag that should have been destroyed. Gotham takes a hard line on theme weaponry. I... wouldn't report any of this to the cops... but I will be reporting aaaaaall this swag you collected to the previous owners. I might have even seen a Doombot. Good night, Cat-Man."

He goes over to Fluffy and releases the parking brake. "I think he can make it to the flatbed we rented. If we go slowly."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike gives an understanding nod. "It really stinks when people mess up your work." He agrees, "But, maybe we can make arrangements to where you can finish your work later if you want. Only, it'd be more voluntary. None of this-"

He nods to Tynan's words, "-abduction bull. That stuff is just annoying."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
"Dark Caliber. I don't know who Laili is.", Ty says. "Now get up, before I have to call your teacher.", she tells. The woman helps Mairin up to her feet, and glares. "And you're paying for the fuel.", she says. The woman looks around, and shakes her head at all this. "Also, I may have your teacher take us to Madripor, for your lessons.", she tells.

Mairin Moran has posed:
Leans into Ty, ignoring Mike completely now. Wait... was there someone there that she was talking to?

"Don't do that... She'll make me do the laundry." She cranes her head around to look over Ty's shoulder, obviously still obsessed with the cat robot, then launches into the same complaints to Ty that she'd given to Mike. "I could have done it you know. I could have made it... beautiful."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake pricks his ears up and turns around to approach the two women and Mike. He rests a very large, heavy and hard hand lightly on Mairin's shoulder. "Why are you being so mean to this little bunny of a person? She didn't get abducted on person. Are you cold? Here, sweetie." He whips his cape off and settles it around Mairin's shoulders, the hem and several inches of material dragging on the floor. "You come to Gotham cable in the morning and I'll see about you finishing the job on the robot. Bring the cape with you, please."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Message received. Mike looks over towards Tynan, "I trust you got her for the rest of this." Performer spinning around, the cape remains surprisingly still as he starts to walk back towards Catman. He makes about one step before realizing Thomas was heading towards them. He stops moving, letting Thomas finish his walk over and reprise what Mike had been saying earlier. With, just less loss of clothing.

The lady in charge of the costume department is scary. God help him if he comes back with part of it missing.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty looks at Mairin a bit. "Doing laundry is better then what I got planned for you. can't have you getting abducted anymore. I have an image to uphold.", she says with evil intent. She looks at Thomas. "We're training under the same teacher. We both joined at the same time, but I have a bit more...combat traiing then most.", she tells. The woman looks over at Mike. "Thank you, and you guys might want to edit out any portions with me in it. I'm not sure your show can have you be seen with an internationally wanted mercenary...", she says.

Mairin Moran has posed:
Mairin turns to look at Thomas and her brow furrows. "You! Why did you let him ride it? Ride it?! With the interlocks pulled and everything. Do you realize what your idiotic fight did to the motors? It will take--" she stops short... and her whole demeanor shifts. "Wait... What?"

Now even Ty is getting the cold shoulder at the prospect of being able to work on the cat again. Wasn't she just saying what a piece of junk it was?
