Profile
Renowned occultist and demonologist, Jason Blood resides in Gotham and is happy to consult with anyone on matters relating to his areas of expertise. Wealthy enough to be a socialite, Blood is rarely seen in public and attending social gatherings of his 'peers', preferring to focus more on his own interests and his work, though he has been known to teach classes at local universities regarding occult history from time to time.
Timeline
Timeline:
* Summer 668 AD - Jason was born in the small village of Norwich in what is now England. His father tended livestock while his mother raised he and his siblings. Not the oldest, nor the youngest, he began to dream of a life of adventure and as the years passed and news of the surrounding lands would pass through town, he promised himself that he would not be bound to this village.
* 683 AD - Now a 'man grown', Jason leaves the village and heads towards a new kingdom being built, Camelot. When he arrives, he manages to become a squire, a position he serves in for a few years until being knighted by Arthur himself. His childhood dreams seem to have all come true for him as he know lives a life of adventure and glory in the service of Camelot.
* 700 AD - Jason is mortally wounded during the Fall of Camelot. He and several other knights rode a sortie out of the gates to try and buy time for others to escape and live, but his comrades were quickly cut down. Left for dead, Jason managed to crawl his way to relative safety where he was found by Merlin, who was handling problems of his own. The old sorcerer seemed to sense something about Jason and then ritually bound Jason's body with that of the demon Etrigan, thus saving his life but changing it forever.
* 750 - 1200 - Blood travels around Europe and the Middle-East looking for answers about his new condition. Something about the ritual has given him a bit of mystical power as well as long life, and he makes it his mission to study any texts he can come across dealing with magic, mysticism, and demonology. This has the unfortunate side-effect of sometimes getting the church against him, but he manages to elude church officials. A few times with the help of Etrigan.
* 1250 - 1600 - Blood settles down in southern France during this period, continuing his studies of all the scrolls, tomes and artifacts he has managed to collect during his travels. One side effect of his studies is knowledge on herbs and medicines, and he lets a local village pay him in food, water and money while taking care of the sick and injured. No one ever asks too many questions about him, and it lets him save up a nice nest egg.
* 1620 - 1990 - Jason Blood returns to England and has a number of encounters with cults, occultists, hedge magicians and the like who prey on locals. He even lets Etrigan come out more during this time, especially during troubled times, including a particularly grisly affair that included some Nazis who were trying to infiltrate the island.
* 1990 - With the news of the Fantastic Four and Dr. Doom, Blood decides that Europe has held enough excitement in his life, and he travels to America, where he settles down in Gotham City to begin further study and research into mystical problems. Etrigan seems to be a bit eager to get into fights, but Jason promises the Demon that the time for battles will be at hand sooner than they'd both like (though Etrigan thinks now would be soon enough).
* 1992 - Now settled in Gotham, Blood openly assists anyone who seeks any sort of advice or counsel on anything mystical. Many believe he is a nutter, though a wealthy nutter.
* 2005 - The appearance of Batman is of some interest for Blood, though Etrigan seems to be more appreciative of the fighting people part.
* 2012 - Etrigan makes sporadic appearances at random along the eastern coast of the United States, often battling the Alien Alliance in fierce and gruesome combat. Many cannot believe the sight of a demon cutting aliens in half with a sword, so some reports seem to be unreliable at best. Blood continues to try to keep his association with the Demon a secret.
* 2020 - Jason Blood seeks out new opportunities to continue learning, while seeking out opportunities for Etrigan to flex his muscles. It's been a long time, and the two have gone through a lot of emotions about their situation, but Jason feels a lot more comfortable letting Etrigan out now than he did even a few hundred years ago.

Personality
Blood: Honorable:
Blood is a man of his word and will not give it to someone if he doesn't believe that he can come through. He will also help others in need when they come to him, considering it as something of his duty as a knight.
Blood: Serious:
No matter the situation, Blood is often without humor and is totally focused on the task at hand. Likely he has spent too much time on this earth to view silliness or other antics as anything but a titanic waste of time.
Etrigan:
Etrigan is a gruff demon who enjoys battle for the sake of battle. Often when he speaks he will do so in rhyme, but there are plenty of times when a terse one or two word response will suit him just fine. He was once a lot more violent and evil than he is now, but thirteen centuries fused with a mortal man has softened him a little and made him realize that there are plenty of wicked to fight here on Earth that one doesn't need to fight -everyone-. The Demon even has a grudging respect for a few superheroes as well, seeing that their willingness to fight to the end and no matter the odds as worthy of that respect.

Blood: Etrigan:
"Gone, gone the form of man. Rise the demon Etrigan." With these words Blood transforms into the Demon that is bound to him.
Blood: Immortality:
Jason Blood does not age, and has been alive for a very, very long time.
Blood: Magic:
Something happened when Blood was fused with Etrigan, it opened up the world of magic to him. While he is no where near as powerful as many who are natural sorcerers, he is able to use his knowledge and experience to his advantage. A few of his magical tricks include:
* Blasts - Can be used as a weapon, if need be. Not his preferred method of combat, especially if a sword is around.
* Telekinesis - Handy when you need to to float a bottle of wine from one side of the room to another.
* Clairvoyance - Easier when using a mirror or a nice scrying bowl, but useful for finding people or items when you're being asked to consult.
* Summoning - While he CAN summon entities in this world, his experience makes this extremely rare.
* Exorcism - Being a Demonologist comes in handy, so does having a Prince of Hell merged with you.
* Wards - Jason's most common form of combat magic, useful in defending himself, or to keep himself alive long enough to bring out Etrigan.
Etrigan: Claws:
His fingers end in sharp claws that are capable of doing serious damage to others while in combat. They also make climbing a bit easier if need be.
Etrigan: Hellfire:
Etrigan is capable of forming bits of Hellfire with his hands, or to shoot it out of his mouth. He can even breathe a stream of it like a flamethrower if need be.
Etrigan: Immortality:
Etrigan cannot die of age.
Etrigan: Superhuman Dur.:
Etrigan enjoys pain in battle, and it helps that he can take an absolute beating and continue fighting. He also has accelerated healing which makes bringing him down more difficult.
Etrigan: Superhuman Str.:
Etrigan is one of the strongest demons in Hell. He can battle some of the strongest superheroes and villains in a physical encounter.

Blood: Equestrian:
The Knight can't leave the old soul, and riding horses is one of Jason's favorite activities when he needs to clear his mind.
Blood: Multilingual:
Jason Blood has lived a very long time, and in that time he has learned a great deal of languages. French, Spanish, Latin, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic. There's quite a list, but it's come in handy when consulting.
Demonology:
Both Blood and Etrigan are well versed on all the denizens of Hell. And there are many names that both of them would like to put an end to.
Etrigan: Intimidation:
Etrigan is a squat, very fierce looking demon who enjoys fighting. He is very intimidating, even to other demons who are aware of his reputation.
Occultism:
Blood has a lot of experience with magic and the occult. Over a thousand years of it in fact, and he uses it to do his consulting. It also helps to have a demon friend who has quite a bit of knowledge of magic and the occult from an entirely different perspective.
Swordsmanship:
Once a knight of Camelot, always a knight of Camelot. He also has over a thousand years of lived experience to keep up with his craft, though it's not often that Blood will try and fight someone himself. Etrigan is also an expert swordsdemon, the sword being his preferred weapon when doing battle. This shared love of the blade has been part of the developing bond between Man and Demon.
Resources
Etrigan's Sword:
Etrigan can summon a large bastard sword forged from Hell when called forth. It isn't special or anything, but it probably really hurts if you're on the other end of one of his swings.
Library:
Jason has an extensive library on the occult and demonology that he amassed over the centuries, it is the foundation to his consulting business.
Signet of Camelot:
Jason Blood wears a ring bearing the crest of Camelot. It was given to him by Arthur upon his knighthood. Though it has seen much better days, he cares for it deeply and never lets it leave his person.
Sword of the Blood:
Jason's sword from his time as a knight of Camelot. He was able to magically enchant it to keep it looking the same now as it did over 1200 years ago. It has no other special properties.
Wealth:
Jason Blood has accumulated a nice chunk of wealth over his extended life. He's not Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark rich, but he's got enough that he doesn't have to worry about working.
Weaknesses
Blood: Immortality:
Jason Blood may be immortal in the sense that he does not age, but he can be injured, and even killed.
Blood: Vocal Spells:
Jason can only use magic via incantation, including the spell that releases Etrigan. If he cannot speak, he cannot use magic.
Etrigan: Powerful Magic:
Etrigan can shrug off a lot, but there are certain individuals who's magic is so great it can stop the demon in his tracks.
Etrigan: Summoning:
Although bound to Jason Blood, it -is- possible for another to summon Etrigan forth by taking control of Jason, and it can cause the demon to fall under that summoner's sway if they are powerful enough.
Etrigan: Time On Earth:
Although Etrigan would love nothing more than to spend all of his time on Earth fighting and killing, he cannot replenish his own energies here and must return to Hell in order to regain strength.
