Personality
Bastard:
Slade is, above all else, a bastard. He's going to get his job done via whatever methods it takes, and the collateral damage inflicted on those around him--more psychological and emotional than physical--isn't even an afterthought for him.
Code of Honor:
While he's a wily and goal-oriented mercenary, Slade nonetheless doesn't actually try to kill or maim those who aren't part of a given contract unless it's necessary. He views his work as being limited in focus and scope, and there's no reason for him to exert himself beyond the parameters of any given operation.
Deceptive:
Slade is an untrustworthy figure, in no small part because he's working plans within plans to achieve his goals however he can. While he's recognized by those who know him as a devious individual, he can still manage to surprise, deceive, and double-cross them through the subtle art of duplicity.
Family Failure:
Slade wants to be a good husband and father, but he's incapable of being that person. Instead, every effort he takes to be a good parent is undermined by his inherent bastardness, his having been honed long since to serve as a brutal and deadly weapon.
Character Sheet
Powers
Accelerated Healing:
As a corollary to his enhanced physique, Slade's body heals at an accelerated pace, allowing him to recuperate from all manner of injuries much more quickly than would a normal human. Torn muscles can be repaired in hours, and bullet wounds or broken limbs in a matter of days.
Enhanced Physique:
As a result of an experimental serum, Slade's physique has been improved dramatically in a number of ways, from his strength to his endurance to his speed and agility to mental processing & capacity. In essence, Slade operates at the very peak of human physical ability.
Skills
Deception:
Slade can, and does, lie with ease and frequency--to the extent that, unless one is predisposed to believe he's always lying, it can be nearly impossible to identify when Slade is providing half-truths or full-blown lies.
Firearms:
Just as he is a highly skilled martial artist, so too is Slade a well-trained marksman, whether from long-distance sniping to heavy artillery use to NATO small arms.
Martial Arts:
Slade is an expert in a range of close-quarters combat, including a number of formal martial arts disciplines (including kung fu, krav maga, and judo) to mixed martial arts styles and improvised techniques. While he's not necessarily the best in any of these individually, he ranks among the most fearsome practitioners in the world for his use of such variety in equally skilled manners.
Melee Weapons:
Slade is a superb combatant with a wide array of melee weapons, but he is particularly skilled with swords, knives, and staves. This includes excellent accuracy with throwing knives as well. Even outside those specific weapons, his superhuman capabilities, instincts, and experience make him quite dangerous with just about any common melee weapon, including improvised varieties.
Stealth:
Deathstroke is a disciplined stealth operative who can not only infiltrate highly secure and heavily protected areas but can do so without his presence being noticed. He's not necessarily a ninja, but compared to most, Slade is an incredibly sneaky individual.
Strategy:
Slade is an incredibly skilled strategist and tactician, able to outmaneuver and outplan most opponents with relative ease. Further, his experiences and training, combined with his enhanced physique (including improved mental acumen), allow Slade to improvise and change approaches on the fly in a variety of efficient ways.
Resources
Arsenal:
Deathstroke has an extensive arsenal of weaponry from around the world, which he regularly maintains and restocks. This arsenal includes a wide range of conventional firearms and melee weapons but also some atypical and unique equipment, from lasers to EMP grenades to his signature sword and custom-built pole weapon (both of which are outlined in their own entries).
Deathstroke:
Slade has a custom-made sword, named 'Deathstroke,' which is forged from Promethium and that, because of its composition, is capable of redistributing energy absorbed from attacks that it intercepts.
Energy Lance:
Deathstroke frequently makes use of a telescoping pole weapon that is activated by Slade's biometrics. It can fire energy blasts, conventional bullets, and a kind of concussive grapeshot.
Ikon Suit:
Deathstroke's outfit, a prototype 'gravity sheathe' suit lined with Promethium, is designed to absorb focused energy from most attacks that increases the suit's (and thus the wearer's) resistance to damage temporarily. However, attacks that aren't so focused and thus distribute impact across the suit, are able to drain the suit's reserves and leave the wearer more vulnerable. The suit also contains a number of miniaturized computer and communication systems.
Mercenary Networks:
Years of completing contracts efficiently and successfully has allowed Slade to cultivate extensive professional networks (albeit of criminal organizations, government operatives and diplomats, fellow mercenaries, fences, and so on). While none of them is trustworthy, per se, Slade knows how to work contacts in these networks to obtain crucial information, find work, and so on.
Safehouses:
Slade has places he can live and lie low scattered all around the world. Most major cities and perennial 'hotspots' have at least one. They can range from hidden bunkers, to a simple room with a cot, toilet, sink, and weapons lockers, to luxury homes filled with amenities. All of them contain varying degrees of weaponry, currency (usually local and neighboring countries), first-aid supplies, fake IDs/documentaion, and non-perishable food, and are protected by strong security systems (sometimes the security system is worth more than the room itself).
Wealth:
Slade Wilson is possibly the most highly paid mercenary in the world, and he's very good at his job. He has assets available that easily put him on par with multi-millionaires though nowhere near a billionaire.
Wintergreen:
Slade's right-hand man is an old military friend who's spent the last several decades assisting Deathstroke with his contract work. If there's any person who Slade might "trust"--in the sense that he's open with the man about his devious machinations. Slade understands that, when push comes to shove, Wintergreen will protect himself and work in Slade's best interests even if it doesn't seem like it, making Wintergreen the best ally Deathstroke could ever have.
Weaknesses
Family:
While Slade has innumerable enemies, perhaps his most dangerous foes are those closest to him, those he cares--or at least believes he cares--about the most: his ex-wife and children. While Slade rarely lets his guard down, it is for his family that he's most likely to be vulnerable ... and they know this, just as do many of his other enemies (who might look to hurt Slade through injury to his family).
Loads of Enemies:
As Deathstroke, Slade has spent decades cultivating a nearly countless number of enemies, from family members of his victims out for revenge to costumed heroes in pursuit of justice for some past act of his. The range of angered foes also makes it unlikely that Slade can reach out for any strong alliance with others, since it's probable that he's screwed them over in some way in the past.
Monoscopic Vision:
While he deals with it much more effectively than most with the same condition, Slade does only have one eye and thus lacks depth perception--which can, from time to time, compromise his ability to engage his surroundings in the most effective manner possible (judging distance, targeting something with hand-eye coordination, and so on).
Public Identity:
Deathstroke's identity is public knowledge, and given his reputation as a merciless assassin, he can expect to have authorities of all stripes on his tail whenever he shows his face in public.
