Date of Scene: 10 November 2023
Location: Abandoned Mansion, Robbinsville, Gotham City
Synopsis: A Joint Bat and Outsider operation ends with Saif Hassan in custody, Rook (Damian Wayne) not liking Flux (Kiden Nixon). The path is laid out. What could happen to the next stop?
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Conner Kent, Damian Wayne, Bart Allen, Essix, Austin Reese, Kiden Nixon, Emiko Queen, Helena Bertinelli

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
WHEN LAST WE WERE -- Saif Hassan had disappeared with the distraction of a bright flash of light, stunning Outsiders and members of the Bat Family alike as he seemed to disappear into thin air, beyond the senses of no-time, the Speedforce and even magical senses.

The word was out, and information had come in via networks that have been built up. There was going to be a meeting in one of the ancient, crumbling affairs on Park Row in Robbinsville, where once there was a bustling 'city house' center for the old money families that lived out past the city limits, and now was simply crumbling foundations and desperate attempts to repair to low-income housing standards.

    It wasn't working well.

Up on the rooftop, Balm, wearing gray armor with her snake-on-a-staff symbol on it, her hood pulled over her hair as she works, is re-assembling something that looks like a middle school science demonstration; a metal orb on a long shaft, with little generators attached to the bottom of it, attached to a quartet of car batteries.

    Magic is messy.

<<So -- if this works, I should flood the local atmosphere with enough magical energy to give our man of the hour a headache should he try to teleport out of the area. In theory the more energy is in the atmosphere the *easier* it would be, but I've reversed polarity, as a good Time Lord once said.>> pause

<<That also means my magic is not going to work out so well if needed. So we're going to have to keep the 'injuries incongruent with life' to the bare minimum and rely more on first aid that magical triage.>>

<<We have two teams. Team Endless Violence is going to be coming up from the extended sewer system; like the last warehouse they've extended the bottom structure. Unlike the last warehouse it's being held up by a lot of wooden posts. Be careful of cave-ins and guards. Team Distract-and-Destruct is going to be handling the ground level floor and keeping everything pinched in tight, setting flashbangs that will react to anyone that doesn't have a communicator signal matching our own. We have a couple new faces tonight on the teams. Those of us who have enabled dominos -- and really, they're so fashionable, everyone should be wearing them -- I've uploaded them to yours. Everyone else, I've got your phone signal and have texted you who we're working with tonight.

She stands up, thunder cracking above the whole of the area as she makes a face.

    <<Team EV and Team D&D, let's go!>>

Conner Kent has posed:
"No domino masks, thanks". They are not that fashionable! Conner doesn't look too happy tonight. It might be the magic stuff, but it is likely the sewer stuff, because it is always sewers in Gotham. Sewers, and endless raining, and crazy clowns. And now a hacker/magician making drugs. Magic is messy, said someone.

Conner takes point without asking. He is not very stealthy, but he is invulnerable, and he has super-hearing, which is nice to hear the bad guys before they can see you. Sometimes. Ninjas are annoying with the whole not being heard bit. But this is about magicians and drug pushers, right? Right.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Team Endless Violence.

Rook will remember this, Balm/Oriole.

Skulking through the sewers of Gotham is nothing new for the former Robin now in Night Force Batman colors of black, grey and red with a yellow lined cape. His footfalls are almost silent as the drops of the rain wash from above finds itself into the overflow channels and into the water lines.

In these conditions, even turtles would err on caution to trail. And yes. Domino mask. White lenses. His lips are pulled into a thin line as he moves on Conner's flank, incidentally being a bit annoying with his silence.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen is in his normal outfit, and since he is in distraction team, he does not go change. He has his own mask with sensors, so he can see what he sees. Bart looks over the area and says "Ok, so where all do you want me to plant the flash bangs, and then tell me when to go all lightning and no thunder.

Essix has posed:
Essix was no where to be seen, at least not yet. When the time was right, she would emerge from Balm/Oriole's pouch and add herself to those helping Distract and Distruct.

For now she kept her comm somewhere inside the ball of aqua viscous liquid and felt sorry for Endless Violence going into the sewers. She'd been in those sewers, and though she couldn't smell, just feeling that place was enough.

Austin Reese has posed:
<"Hard disagree."> Replies Osprey behind Conner, blinking at him in disbelief from behind his own white lensed domino mask He's definitely not too happy about the sewer part either, as he carefully moves his way around something. His hood was pulled up over his white hair to keep whatever dripping goo there was from getting onto him.

Unlike a certain broody compatriot, however, Osprey is actually quite happy about being put on team Endless Violence, <"I'll have you know I intend to live up to the team name."> He notes over the team comms, quickly pulling up a map to check on how far through the sewers they were.

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Kiden doesn't own a domino mask, or costume of any sort really, so she's slogging through the sewers in some of her 'old' clothes... the ones from her street days, that really can't be made to smell any worse. She's slightly behind Conner and Damian, offering, "Wouldn't consider myself violent, really.. but I guess my ability for it is pretty big."

She glances to Damian, then up to Conner, nudging him lightly and lifting both brows before tilting a glance towards the person she doesn't know. Then again towards Austin, who she also doesn't know. Not that it's crucial, but she's curious!

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko Queen adjust the settings of her own domino mask to sync and then slips it back on, pulling the red hood of her cloak up over her head afterwards. Then reachs back to tap the concealed controls of her quiver that manages the more technologically elaborate arrow heads. <<Everything syncronized here.>> She crouches down in the shadows that seem present everywhere in Gotham, bow at the ready. <<Red Arrow ready to move on signal.>> She was already in assassin mental space and all business.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress listens to the update in silence, kitted up in full body armor. The initial briefing Oracle passed on to her suggested probable sewer encounter so she knows better than to wear anything less. No belly windows here.

As the teams and objectives are finished, the dark haired vigilante looks toward Conner as he sets off first. There is no protest from her. If Chibi Killer Croc pops out and glomps onto his head, it won't be fatal. Probably.

Reaching up to tap her more-than-a-domino-but-not-full-face maks, enhanced optical lenses cover those baby-blues quickly and then she falls into Team EV.

Endless Violence. Except EV standing for Electric Vehicle is what that abbreviation reminds her of. Pushing aside the thought that Electric Mayhem is probably a better codename she focuses and begins picking her way through the sewers with the rest of her team.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The teams are in position. Phoebe takes a deep breath. Let's not let this go to pot.

The generator hums as it comes up to speed, and the atmosphere around the magical girl charges. She looks down to her side-pouch, where Essix is goopin' about.

"We're ready." she states, and then she slides down the roof, graps on a bit of old metal that might have been a flag pole or support beam, twists herself around and lands near Emiko and Bart.

She holds up some of her own charges.

"No closer than six feet. Ayone not with our signal is going to trigger them. Be safe." she states "Impulse -- kitchen and library, double check the upstairs for anyone. You're the lightest on your feet. Red Arrow, take the side door and through the dining and front rooms." she states.

    And of course, there's guards.

Downstairs in the kitchen, Guards One, Two and Three.

    Library, Big'Un and Twisty.

Dining Room has Video Lad (currently playing games on his phone) and two other noname grunts.

And then there's the sewers. In the area directly over the sewer entrance, there are four. Eeny, Meenie, Miney and Paul.

    They're probably not metahumans.

Meanwhile in the main room in the basement, secure behind a steel wall and bank-vault style opening blocking access from the sewer, six people -- including Saif -- are sitting down for a meeting.

Damian Wayne has posed:
When Damian catches sight of Kiden glance aside of him from across Conner, his thin lips pull from neutral to full-on frown. His hand moves to a pouch on his utility belt and drops an item into it. He quickly crosses over and shoves the item in her hands. A domino mask. It's nothing special, but it will hide her eyes.

"He," A thumb jerked at Conner. "can handle whatever and whoever discovers his identity. You." A finger back to Kiden. "Would be a liability. To him. To his group. Do not be a weak link. Your identity is the most important thing to protect. I'm the least of the threats to who you are."

A deeper frown. "I thought you people were taught this on day one." Batman 101, right?

And with a snort, he turns his attention to the large vault door that is blocking the access to the house. "I assume you have the key?" he asks Conner as he moves back and out of the way.

Essix has posed:
As Phoebe is performing her amazing gymnastics to land near the others, Essix expands out from the pouch like a string of aqua color taffy being pulled, then comes to take a human form on the roof beside the two people she doesn't know.

Her human form is perfect, save for her face, but that is concealed behind a mask right now. She's wearing her 'hero' costume, which is an aqua colored body suit with hood over the head, and a domino mask (not one of those domino masks).

She offers Red Arrow and Impulse a nod, a broad smile on her face. She seems overly excited to be here, to be helping, but she is paying attention to everything said. "I will stay with you," she says to Balm/Oriole. "When you need me to be distraction, I will be."

Conner Kent has posed:
<"Knowing Balm, the team names are a pun, or possibly poking fun to someone of the gang"> Who knows who? Not Conner. Wizards are a mysterious bunch, and often exaggeratedly pun-y.

"Despite the name, lets try to limit the havoc and destruction. The Gotham City sewers are prone to blow up a lot." He suggests, out of the comms. "They are probably holding together with chewing gum and paperclips. I bet smugglers and homeless do more maintenance here than the city hall employees."

Then he pauses, having heard something. Back to comms and subvocalizing. <"I hear two, maybe three people ahead. Also, air is warmer. Maybe a lived space."> And there is a vault door? Then again, it is the Gotham sewers, there might be some BIG wild life here.

Now, Conner might be able to break through, but vault doors are designed to be opened, and with tactile telekinesis, the inner locks and bolts can be shifted. So, instead of punching, he just places his palm on the metal and lets his powers do their thing.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods his head, and starts off. He starts pushing himself, to keep going as fast as he can to keep people from seeing him. If he sees a lot of people, he may pause hiding behind a wall, before waiting till they look away to zoom past them. In the Library he sets up the flash bangs, and checks out the books the man has, and then into the kitchen to set up more bangs and also to raid the fridge.

Austin Reese has posed:
A quick glance over at Kiden from Austin, "I'm kind of with him on this one." He replies, as he jerks a thumb at Rook. For the moment, however, he's just kind of keeping an eye on Connor though. While they continue to move through the sewers, he clocks the four people, tagging them all on the domino and map, <"Four hostiles. Marking positions and moving to intercept."> Just because he's team Endless Violence doesn't mean it needs to be LOUD endless violence.

Osprey maneuvers himself up onto the same level as Eeny first, crouching behind a pipe and tossing something down the sewer a ways to draw his attention. He waits, and assuming the goon actually goes to look at what that noise was, despite being in a sewer and there being all kinds of noises, Osprey will pounce on him and take him down, hopefully without alerting the others.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Got it." That's all Emiko really needs, useful information and a directive to take. When Essix oozes out to join them she's unphased. She's been at this long enough to see weirder things that a bunch of ooze come out to form another person(?). She looks at her for a moment, then nods towards Balm. "You take care of her, getting her magic scrambler into place is important." And by the time anyone has looked away for a moment then looked back, she's already gone on her way. Though most of people here are use to the sudden exits certain types of people are fond of.

She makes her way through the desolate outskirs while keeping her low-profile to avoid being noticed just like she was trained. But it doesn't take her too long to find the side door to the dining area, and giving it just a nudge to give herself a slit to peek inside. Two goons and one techie on his phone. Likely don't notice the speedster currently buzzing through the building.

She nudges the door a bit more, slowly to avoid making noise, so she can slide one of the flashbang charges inside.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress is quite familiar with how flammable and explosive the Gotham sewer system is. Most probably not because of any actions she may have taken in the past, of course.

Listenning to Conner's update she reaches for her crossbows. Maybe there will be havoc and destruction after all. EIther way she'll be ready. Knowing that meta humans were expected to be on the guest list, she came prepared with a selection of bolts for the occasion.

Staying clear of the doors, she scans the sewers briefly while waiting for Conner to lay hands on the locks.

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Lifting a brow at the mask, she looks back to Damian and shoves it right back at him. "I'm a mutant, dumbass. My identity is meaningless. And *you* don't know *what* I can do, so shove it, bird boy. I thought *you people* were supposed to be smart." Rolling her eyes, she pushes forward through the sewer, muttering under her breath.

She'll move towards the vault door, shaking her head and putting herself into a position to be able to slip into the vault as soon as it's open.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
<<They are totally Evolution Values from Pokemon and a joke on Dungeons and Dragons. You got me, SB. I'm a nerd.>> Balm replies over the coms as she begins to set her own charges.

Impulse breezes through his part. He sets his charges. There's people there, but they don't exactly see him. One Two and Three are busy eating pizza. Big'Un and Twisty in the LIbrary are looking over what few books remain. Bart's review of the library would be pretty quick -- mostly they're reference books, and they're old, rotting, and a lot of them have mold. The fridge is in a similar state. That MAY have been Creamed Corn at one point, it's definitely not deviled ham, and whatever it may be it is buldgy and full of Nope.

Between SB, K, H, D, and the door, there WERE four guards.

WERE because one of them is now Got as the goon is tricked by one of the Oldest Tricks in the book as SB manages to telekenetically work those tumblers of the thick steel door into place.

Eeny goes down. Meenie, Miney and Paul all turn when one of their compatriots goes down.

And that's when Kiden gets a decent sized chunk of Sewer Wall slung at her by Miney, as he rips out a section of concrete and brick the size of a sports motorcycle and launches it at her!

Meenie decides his automatic rifle is set to SUperboy. That's probably a bad move.

Paul turns and takes aim at Huntress with his weapon -- at first click it's just a |BANG!| flag.

The second click launches the flag-bolt at her! Damian is ignored for the moment. Maybe he's too short to be a threat. Or they just didn't notice him.

"UGH! I knew I shoulda known better than ta buy from Da Joker!" he complains about his weapon, and then sweeps in to try and just smack Osprey with it!

    CLICK. The big door opens.

Emiko on the other hand is handily exhibiting the art of invisibility as she slides the flashbang inside the room. The goons and the techie don't seem to give too much mind, no one's raised the alarm. Yet.

And up on the roof, Phoebe gives a couple of the charges to Essix.

"Put those in the doorway of each bedroom up here. We can't be too careful. Don't jostle them too much, all right?" she offers to Essix.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner is not too worried about automatic rifles, no. Then it occurs him they might have magical bullets, given there is a magician around. But even so, his telekinetic forcefield is up, and it should be enough for a bullet. He just needs a few seconds for the door, and that should be enough for the bat-people bat-karate and Kiden time-out tricks to knock out the goons.

Unless one of the goons is strong enough to rip a chunk of wall. Oops. "Flux, stop time!" He yells, moving to try to cover the girl. < "We got a superhuman here"> he notes on the coms.

Damian Wayne has posed:
When Kiden shoves the mask back into his hands, Rook looks down into his hands. "Tt." he rumbles. A dangerous noise as he tosses the mask aside. "I don't give two shits that you're a mutant." he spits.

To Conner, he turns. "She's going to get someone in your group killed." He knows all about Tim's push to make sure everyone has a secret identity.

With that, he leaves it alone - at least for now, as his focus returns to the mission at hand.

And since he's even being disrespected by the bad guys as much as this group, Rook falls silent reaching behind his back, dropping a small sword into his hand. With Paul taking aim at Huntress, the youngest Bat comes in low and fast, his feet barely splashing into the puddles of water on the cobblestones of the sewers as swings behind Paul.

His back is open to him and Damian's sword flashes in the darkness before finding a home into the kidney of the henchmen where he gives the blade a twist and yanks it back with a splash of blood. If he gets medical attention in time, he can be saved.

Essix has posed:
Essix accepts the charges, taking a moment to let her natural ability of discovering how things are constructed get a 'feel' for them. Offering Phoebe a nod, she pokes the charges inside herself, creating a safety pocket for them to reside in that will keep them perfectly still, even as she moves.

"Bedroom doors," she repeats before she melts down from her human form into that of a really large, thick and long snake.

Slithering the top part of her body over the edge of the roof she starts looking for an open window to gain access. Spotting one at the far end of the second floor, she moves back up to the rood then along the edge to just over that window. Looking over the edge again, she snakes her thick body down to the window, nudges it open with her nose while her tongue flicks out as if tasting the air, and then she moves inside.

Inside the room she moves across the floor far faster than a snake would normally move, and at the door way pauses to listen for noise in the hall. One of the hockey puck sized charges appears at the end of an aqua color tendril and is placed firmly in the door way as she was instructed to do. If the hall is clear, she will move into the hall and go in search of other doors that will get a puck of doom added to them.

Emiko Queen has posed:
With the flashbang set in the dining room Emiko pulls an arrow out of her quiver. But rather than use it in her bow she just sticks it through the open door gap. She's using the small digital camera on the head to get a bead on where the doorways between the dining room, kitchen and front living area are, the feed flicking a small display along with the others in her mask HUD. Strategic gears turn in her head in analysis, computating the situation to most effectively deal with the three in the dining room and move on to join the rest of the team when the time comes. Then slips it back out the door gap and returns it to her quiver. Now it was just a waiting game for the others to get in ready.

<<Red Arrow in position and waiting for the light show.>> The bare whisper over the comm is the only thing to say. The small assassin is tense, ready to move when the moment arrives.

Austin Reese has posed:
Osprey hits Eeny a few times, then looks up at the others, who are now rather angry, it would seem. Because there's flying walls and big guns and things have rather quickly gotten out of hand. He is back on his feet after a moment, finding himself face to face with Paul, who's trying to bash him with that big, apparently fake revolver.

He shifts backward as the swing nearly hits him, "You get what you pay for!" He replies, going low and trying to take both of Paul's legs out from under him, tackling him to the ground and trying to pin down the arm and knock the makeshift weapon free. He'll follow that up with punches and kicks, trying to pummel Paul with punches and put him down and out.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will say over the com softly "You would think goons staying here they would have food." He is then heading to the other rooms upstairs as he hears the fighting starting with his friends. He will give locations and count of the people he has seen as he went about.

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Kiden doesn't pause even a moment when the wall chunk comes flying at her. Or rather... she pauses ALL the moments. For a moment, anyways. Slipping into No Time, she strolls her way aorund the wall chunk and slips right into the vault room.

Walking around the room, she takes note of the people in there. Faces, descriptions, studying them carefully. Noting insignia and colors for some, pausing curiously at the woman and examining her more closely. She takes another pause at Saif and studies him very carefully. Taking a count of the weapons that are held or worn.

Strolling back out of the room, she glances around to get an idea of where people are and where is safest to re-enter the timestream. Putting herself away from the fighting and stepping back out of her rainbowy alt-time existence.

<<Six inside the vault, five men, one woman. Head of the table is a Middle Eastern man matching the description of Saif Hassam from the last encounter. Four mean wearing gang colors, Latin Kings, MS-13.. the other two are local, I think, but their colors are (Dockyard Dogs) and (Los Royos). The woman in white seems.. bigger. Mob or Syndicate, maybe. Definitely higher class than the men. All have pistols except Saim, he's got a sword.>>

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
When the vault door opens and the action starts, Huntress moves in quickly with the others. Crossbows in hand, she sees Paul aiming at her. Diving forward and tucking into a roll just before the second, apparently real, shot is fired. The flag-bolt hits where she had been standing. Instead of her body, it does hit her cape but the cape does what it is supposed to, wrapping around the impact and slowing the projectile instead of being punctured by it.

As she rises up, she frowns as Damian stabs through Paul's side. She murmurs quickly, yet loud enough to be heard as she communicates with someone not part of this mission, at least physically anyway.

"... Oracle when did Batman begin endorsing killer midgets in his family?"

She takes aim at Paul's wound and does him a solid by firing a bolt tipped with a rapidly expanding sticky foam. It strikes him near the wound, crudely sealing it. At least it should help slow down some of the bleeding. Meta human or not, killing wasn't part of the plan. A noteworthy mindest given her own history.

As Kiden communicates the occupants of the vault, one being possibly with the Mob, she scowls. This suddenly got more personal.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe can just imagine Babs saying 'Ah, you met Rook. He's Batman's son.'

    He's also taller than Phoebe!

<<Superhuman noted! You've got three down there with yourself. Saif is magical, but his magic *shouldn't* work so good -- in theory -- I'm on my way down! Impulse, Red Arrow, clear us an esc-->>

And Balm suddenly cuts off. Everyone with a domino with a HUD will get a little warning. Something's interrupting her communications array, though her biological tracker is still going strong.

Down to the vault, Saif has stood up and has begun barking orders in Arabic. Damian would definitely hear him say things like 'arm the bombs' and 'don't leave the briefcase behind' to someone over a communicator.

He's being loud and working on an assumption that no one's gonna speak Arabic at the meeting.

The bullets bounce off the shield. They ricochet and hit the bricks and concrete, creating a hazardous breathing environment.

Paul screams and collapses as Rook threatens his ability to clear out toxins from his blood -- and also stabs his kidney and threatens a bleed out. His joke gun gets sent flying. That'll show him for ignoring Rook.

Paul then gets kicked and punched by Austin, and is probably not going to survive this encounter. A+ job guys. That's when Paul seems to sink into a pile of sanguine goo and reform himself -- smaller -- and runs away into the sewer yelling 'I QUIT! SCREW YOU SAIF!"

The others of the four guards are quickly subdued by the Bats and the Outsiders, leaving the six in the vault scrambling to escape out the upper levels.

Which one of the goons in the dining room has noticed the flashbang.

"Hey, is this one of your thingies?" he asks the technie on his phone, and then brings the butt of his gun up, and down to whack it.

The fun things about these pucks, is that Phoebe had them set to go off in a pattern. The dining room lights up with a brilliant light and loud sound first. Then the kitchen. The Library. And then the upstairs bedrooms (all the while being flung out with a massive amount of ultraviolet-dye covered glitter. That stuff don't wash off).

The fellas upstairs all give varying cries out, grabbing their eyes. Someone's gun goes off. There's a scream of violent pain as someone attempts to find the refridgerator and ends up touching live wires in what used to be a microwave.

It's a right horrible mess upstairs.

Downstairs in the vault they're trying to work out who to teleport out first as Saif readies his hankercheif tricfk and throws the hankie in the air, not caring about the other five -- and looks ESPECIALLY PETURBED when he's still there when the hankerchief hits the table.

Taht's when he draws his sword.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner takes the broken wall on his back, which leaves a large smear of sewers... thing, on his new leather jacket. Maybe it can still be saved! It has been only two weeks since the Toyman ruined the previous one. Still gets Miney a punch in the face. Where was the guy with the rifle?

Then the light (and bang) show starts and he hurries inside. The goons are goons, but the villain(s) are inside, and they are usually more dangerous.

Emiko Queen has posed:
The comment from Balm wasn't finished, but there's more than enough context. Emiko peeks inside, and sees one of the goons pick up the flashbang. Things are about to take an unexpected turn. She readies her bow, and turns her head from the door gap when she sees the guy go to smash the flashbang, setting it off.

Brilliant light and glitter fills the dining room, likely followed by screams of surprise and pain from the three.

That's when she kicks the door open, and fires her arrow at Tech Guy to skewer his phone. Never leave an enemy's asset usable even if they are disoriented.
It's followed by swinging her bow into one goon's midsection, and as he reels over twists around to bat him into the other gook off to the side.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"He can live with one kidney."

That's Damian's response to Helena on 'killing'. Instead, he's already moving on. With the announcement that everything is about to shut down due to magical EMP, Damian reaches up and clicks his off at his temple.

He may not bother to turn it back on for the rest of the fight.

<<You are going nowhere tonight.>> that in Arabic as the visor flicks back on, with the whites of his lens coming back to life as he has his blade held in repose to his side.

To Comms, >>There's a briefcase. It's probably the detonator for the bombs. Find it. I'll deal with Saif.<<

'Sora', that's what Ra's-al-Ghul named the blade when he gave it to Damian, flashes in his hands. He had been wanting to try it - to figure out what his Grandfather's intentions were. It felt good in his hands. Nice. Right, like an extension of itself. And he could do so much more with it. And against someone else using a blade?

He doesn't have to hold back.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen is starting to do the distraction. He slows down a bit so the white and red blur can be seen, trying to pump out his aura a bit so it looks like a lightning storm running through the halls. He is listening in and as Balm's voice goes out he calls "Checking on Balm." And that is what he does, comes running towards the room, but instead of coming in through the door, he vibrates his way through the side wall, that way if someone is in there with her, he hopes to get a surprise on them.

Austin Reese has posed:
There's a moment that Austin realizes that his punch into something feels way too soft. That's because he's not punching a guy, he punched a glob, which then scrambled out from under his fist, "Damnit. I hate fighting metas." He mutters to himself. At least that's one more out of the fight. He gets back up onto his feet after a second, quickly glancing around to see who else might still be up. He quickly heads over towards the main vault, looking for the briefcase that Rook just called out about. It won't be easy to find, no doubt. Especially if it's what's holding the detonator. A quick change of vision modes to start looking for electronics.

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Kiden frowns, listening not to Saif but to the others. They're going to start a bloodbath soon if they don't get out of that room. And they won't be getting out of that room, thanks to the magic dampening field. But that's okay. She has time. She has ALL the time.

Slipping into No Time, Kiden looks around the area, then moves into the vault. Before anyone can draw pistols, she moves in, carefully plucking guns from holsters and tossing them carefully aside. Replacing them with items from her own pockets, but not without a snap and shake first!

Then she strolls her way out of the vault! The briefcase is better left to someone with better training than her.

Once she slips back into the normal timestream, a number of things will happen, semingly at once.

Every pistol held by the gangers (and the Mob lady) will FLY out of hands or holsters and slam into the walls of the room, lodging firmly into the walls themselves. And each one of them will pull... a glowstick! Each one a different color, and already brightly glowing! RAVE TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Ka-TOING! The phone is skewered, the tech gives a high-pitched scream of horror, feeling the phone jerk out of his hands and stick, sparkingly to a wall as the disoirentated crew in the dining room attempt to zero in on their attacker. One ends up smacking the other one with the but of his gun. It quickly devolves to a fist fight. They're not the smartest of goons here. There is a briefcase that the techie was supposed to be keeping an eye on to one side.

Saif eyeballs Rook. He draws his sword as well, and he answers back in Arabic <It doesn't matter. This is all just a minor distraction. You will lose in the end.> and he finishes, imitating Damian's <tt> sound.

Bart finds Balm, and Essix. Balm looks as if she was knocked back, her left hand up and sparking, arcing like a bad electrical outlet about to short out.

And there is a figure also in gray, who is currently wrapped up by an aqua-colored goop, who is also sparking as if about to explode -- and then the goop hurriedly unwraps itself from the figure, draws back and retreats to Phoebe's sidepouch. The figure in gray stumbles backwards, falls to its knees, and slowly begins to ash away until there's a puff of air, and there's nothing left. The anti-magic generator gives a wrrrrrr... and then goes down. It seems to rust along all its edges and then slowly break down, its batteries leaking acid onto the rooftop.

Osprey would see that there are electronics in the wall, connected to powerful charges, that would have brought the house down on the heroes below -- and probably injure the heroes baove as well. They're laced through the walls here and through the ceiling of the meeting room!

And all five of the members of the gang look very, very confused as they pull glwosticks instead of their weapons.

Saif looks around, and then he looks back to Rook, and does a very strange thing.

He drops his sword. The sword hits the ground with a leaden thud, and then slowly begins to disappear into ash.

"Well. That wasn't meant for you anyway. It would have been a waste." he states.

The outsiders and the Bats have won this round. Saif and five gang leaders and one member of the Mob are in custody. NO one's going to talk for a while... but soon.

Maybe they'll give something to go on.

And for tonight, all ends well.

Save for walking down the streets, a lone preacher begins to cry out about a gathering darkness growing in Gotham's rotting core.

        Soon...
