Mutants and Master Molds - The Alien Acquisition
Date of Scene: 07 March 2024
Location: STAR Labs Facility
Synopsis: The X-Men respond to a Sentinel raid at a STAR Labs facility. They manage to mostly drive off the Sentinel infiltrators.. But they can't guarantee that their robotic enemies haven't gotten away with something bad. Very, very bad.
Cast of Characters: Monet St. Croix, Wade Wilson, Tabitha Smith, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Patty Sloan, Quentin Quire
Tinyplot: Mutants and Master Molds

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Over the years, technology developed by the metahuman and military community would pass down to civilian researchers to start their own investigations of. Among the most well regarded of these agencies by all parties was STAR Labs. A recent raid on the Triskelion for items in storage from the Savage Land (among others) had lead to increased monitoring of things passed on along.

So at late night when a STAR Labs facility flagged a security breach in the computer network that was tagged by the X-Men's monitoring as Sentinel hacking, it gathered immediate attention and investigation.

It was late night at a highly secure warehouse in an isolated suburb where rolling power outages had the entire area sheathed in darkness, the only lights being from emergency responders spread throughout the area.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Wade Wilson got a motorcycle for Christmas! It was shiny and red and had his face-emblem on the frontplate. It could go six hundred miles per hour, had heavy weapons, rockets, grenades ,acid blasts. The Deadcycle was sick af son.

Unfortunately, Wade crashed that into a wall in Mexico City and it went boom boom by by.

Which is why Wade is getting out of an Uber, with a duffel bag full of weapons on his shoulder. What, something wrong with the classics?

He leans back in the window of the car, "Stephanie, sugar, break up with him. Finish that novel. I'm telling you, time travel vampire alien ghost hunter romance is THE big genre of the future. Love you, girl. Hit me up on Insta!" he says, trotting off towards the ominous warehouse and the robotic doom (dum DUM dum) that lurked within.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
While it might be a time to be sneaky, it just means that Tabitha Smith went with mostly black in her uniform. Synthetic leather latex mix with yellow padding at the back, chest, shoulders and arms of her cropped jacket, showing off all that work on her midriff while the same black material clings to her lower half. With yellow for her boots. The blonde's long pony tail mostly out of her eyes while red tinted Wayfarer style shades keep the rest out of her view.

It's the sort of outfit that she could get away with on the streets as actual racing gear. Just add an X-Logo on a belt and she's good to go. "So great, now we're going to what, see Cyborg Sentinel Brood? Everything I frigging hate the most in one gross ass package!"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue sits behind the main pilot station of the Sr-77, dressed in her green and gold bodysuit, with her leather jacket zipped up halfway over her bust line, and a pair of aviator shades over her eyes. With her white bangs framing her face, and the chestnut locks tied up in a bun on the crown of her head, Rogue is chewing on a toothpick while she directs the VTOL systems of the Blackbird in to a landing pattern just outside the perimeter of the propert they've come to investigate.

"Setting down, Prepare for disembarking." She announces to the crew, and passengers who may be seated in the back of the transport and recon vehicle.

With her yellow gloved hands working the controls, the Jet touches down on the soft grass outside, the turbine engines winding down with a added bonus of stealth features that makes the whole process considerably quieter than one might expect.

In the back, the ramp begins to lower down, and a gust of the night air washes up in to the jet, as the atmospheres combine with one another.

The southern belle sets up the jet in to a standby systems mode, before she moves to rise up from her pilot's chair.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde is wearing her X-men costume, with Lockheed riding shotgun on her shoulder. Brown hair pulled back into a pony-tail, she sits in the Blackbird's seat as it comes in for a landing. "Not good, if something connected to the Sentinels is getting into a high tech area like Star Labs," she says with a frown as the stealth plane touches down.

"Nice landing Rogue," Kitty says, pulling out some bubble gum and opening a piece for herself, then offering a piece to Rogue before turning towards the ramp down.

"Let's try to be discrete to start with, figure out what's going on," she suggests as she strides down to the grassy turf outside and turns to eye the facility.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty was having a night out. After last night she REALLY needed a fun night. That lead her to go clubbing. Of course she can't drink, she is only eighteen after all. Still a night of dancing and what not is a fun way to spend the late evening. As the club she was dancing at closed, She was suddenly in need of an Uber. She calls one and winds up a plus one with a guy in a red suit. She doesn't say much in the car, she simply listens to the story of Stephanie and her novel.

Stephanie happens to take Deadpool's advice to heart. She kicks Patty out of the car and peels out to go work on her novel. Patty is now left standing outside of a warehouse with a guy in a red suit with weapons. What's more, there is an overwhelming feeling of dread going through her, especially as the first responders go racing by. "Umm I don't think I am supposed to be here." She states loud enough to be heard. She has no idea the X-men are arriving or who the guy in red is. All she knows is that she is very likely in danger. Wind starts whipping around her, not enough to harm her or anyone. Its just instinct. at this time.

Quentin Quire has posed:
Quentin already had mostly black in his uniform, with a bit of grey for good measure. Not a single bit of eye-bleeding lavender anywhere. Not even any stylish little 'X' insignia, just one big one across his chest. Totally subtle.

He's playing on his phone as they make the flight from Westchester, but it disappears into the pocket of his leather jacket as the jet touches down. Kicking himself up out of the jumpseat he grabs at a handle hanging from the ceiling to steady his balance as the Blackbird gives a little bounce on landing. "Let's see what kind of problems the normies might pose..." he says, his eyes giving a pink glow as he reaches out to scan the building telepathically, trying to get a lay of the land.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Despite the power outage, things are under control. There are sirens in the distance from emergency services, so everything is being tended to. The STAR Labs facility is on automated generators and automatic lockdown - the way it's supposed to be when there's a large scale power outage. Inside, guards are moving to their posts. Quentin is able to pick up if he is scanning a sense of normalcy from them. Routine. This is all very tedious and automatic. They're pulling out flashlights to help guide themselves about.

Outside, Deadpool and Patty are left staring at one another while Stephanie abandons them to work on the great american novel. It may be the future source of an avant garde screenplay/parody about the process of trying to find an idea for the great american novel that has nto already been done by Stephen King.

Near them, dim lights flicker, and then go totally off as everything in several blocks suddenly goes out that's electronic. Lights, cell phones. Anything with batteries in it goes completely off. That's probably not a good sign.

The Blackbird is (if anyone is on sensors remotely) picking up more power outages of a highly localized nature now. As if cutting off the complex.

Quentin Quire has posed:
"Well, whatever it is, it hasn't actually hit the labs yet. Either that or they've got the most chill security staff on the planet. No one is freaking out." Quentin reports, the psionic glow fading from behind his glasses as he ends the scan. "Not even the slighest." he says with a shrug to the others.

"Could it have been a false alarm?" he wonders aloud, just as everything outside of the Blackbird turns off in a decidedly unnormal fashion, "Man, if someone just EMP'd my phone I'm gonna be pissed."

Wade Wilson has posed:
Wade Wilson realizes Patty has gotten out behind him and turns around. "Hi. I'm Deadpool. You may have heard of me from...okay, you probably haven't heard of me, not unless you're secretly part of the elite brotherhood of mercenaries for hire, and if you were, you'd be super new and probably didn't even hear my legend yet, so yeah, uh, nice to meet you!"

"I'm here to, like, blow some things up, possibly save all of mutantkind, that sort of thing. If you'd like to help with that, I do have a spare gun or three. At the very least you should - oh, crap, I need a can of silver spraypaint. Is the WITNESS ME meme dead? It's dead, right, that movie came out in 2016, god, how time flies, it's so crazy - OMG LOOKIT THE JET IT'S THE X-MEN what are the odds it's not like I'm following them..."

"HEY GUYS IT'S ME DEADPOOL!" he says, running towards the jet and waving his arms over his head.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
When the plane lands Tabby joins the rest of the X-Men in walking down the loading ramp and onto solid ground. "So, what, like power outages and looting and all that crap, and now a heist. Bet all the emergency service stuff is totally a distraction. Like how you wanna rob a bank in Gotham while there like League level stuff going on in Metropolis.

The blackout in the blackbird going off comes with the blonde wincing and pinching the bridge of her nose. The blonde's powers tend to generate a lot of bioelectricity as part of the plasma generation. "Dangit! Ow!" she groans.

There's a quick scowl of concentration to make sure she can still use her powers.

The arrival of Deadpool gets a frown. "Uhh, you're not here to rob the place are you?" Double checking is probably a good idea while there's no shooting going on yet.

Rogue has posed:
The blackbird has shielding against EMP attacks, but most of the devices likely used by the X-Men probably don't.

Rogue had thanked Kitty for the gum, and was in the process of popping it in to her mouth, when the pulse went out, causing an alarm to sound off on the jet's control bank. With a look back, Rogue returned to the cockpit, and leaned over the controls to study the information.

"We got a blackout, looks like a weapon went off. Did they already find out we're here?" She asks back over her shoulder, before she flips a few switches on the control board. "I'll make sure the AI pilot system is on, so it can respond if needs be." She further states, before deciding to head out to join the others. "Time to take to the sky, see what I can spot from the bird's eye vantage..."

Out of the ramp of the jet, the Belle flies at a fast rate, one leg extended behind her, one with her knee pointed down at the ground, the knee almost clipping Wade's head when he rushes up toward the jet.

Surely by accident though.

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Ummm Hi Deadpool. Nice to meet you. My name is Patty. Patty Sloan. Nope not a mercenary. Just a college girl who was out dancing the night away and now... I have no idea what is going on." She reaches for her phone to call whoever she can at the school. Nothing. "My phone is dead." She comments to the Pool guy.

Oh you are here to blow stuff up? Thats cool and all... Save mutantkind, wait SAVE MUTANTKIND?!" That gets Patty's attention. "Why would mutant kind need saved. What is actually going on here? I... I don't know how to use guns. I can do other things." She is now properly panicked. She is getting plenty of info from Wade until, Oh look the X-jet! She looks at the jet that just landed. Quickly she follows Deadpool. Why? Because she doesn't know where she is and there is a lot of craziness going on. "Ummm Mr. Deadpool, What did you mean save Mutant Kind!"

She suddenly finds herself under a very cool looking plane. Whats more, She is around some people that she recognizes. "Ummm... Hi?" She waves nervously suddenly feeling like she is very out of place. She isn't even in a uniform. She is wearing her tie dye shirt and a pair of jeans. "Ummm... whats up?" She nervously says as she tries to make herself smaller than she is.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde crouches as she looks over at the warehouse, nodding over to Quentin as he shares the information about the guards. "Seems like something is definitely going on," she says. And then turns as she hears Wade rushing over and waving at them. Kitty face-palms and motions at Wade to keep it down!

"Stealth, Deadpool," she says quietly when he gets near. "Well, I can phase us all inside as a group if we want, and then we can spread out from there. Quentin can you guide us to a spot without any guards around?"

Kitty looks over to Rogue. "You want to come in that way, or go check out the roof and windows?" She nods as the Southern belle takes flight. Kitty blows a bubble, popping the gum and then doing a double take. "Patty?" she says softly. "What are you-" and then she stops and looks at Wade, giving a sigh. "Patty, we're investigating something that got into the security at this STAR Labs warehouse." She hesitates. "You can come with us, or stay in the plane. But if you come with us, keep your head down and if we say run, get out and back to the plane. Ok?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Tabitha is right. The rollouts are going along strategically. Isolating the lab, spreading emergency services thin. There are no huge explosions, no fires, nor any indications of sabotage or catastrophe. It's still quite, quite effective as rolling blackouts of cell phones lock down areas.

Quire can telepathically pickup inside that the security guards within are still going about their business automatically and boredly. Everything is going according to training and they have a heavy disinterest, just going through their routine. Just going through the routine.. No sign of psionic interference in them, but some quick scanning would come to the conclusion that they'd all been quite heavily drugged, minds pumped up on dopamines.

The Blackbird is taking note of a localized communications blackout even beyond the power outage. No Internet transmission. No analogue transmission. No satellite uplinks. The highly encrypted comm systems of the X-Men can still cut through without interference. But over roughly a half mile radius, not a single squawk is going in or out beyond that.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
As the X-men sneak forward, Kitty follows Quentin's lead until he's picked out a section of wall on the warehouse to target. Of course any fencing they just walk through, Kitty having everyone touch her so she can move them through.

Once at the wall, she does the same. "Hold your breath going through," she whispers for those who might not have done this before. And then she phases them and leans forward, peering through the wall to the other side.

Once she's sure there's no immediate danger, she draws everyone else through, making sure they are clear before letting them go tangible again.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Wade Wilson ducks the Shining Wizard from Rogue, letting out a tiny little 'eep' and putting his hands on top of his head, "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maximum effort culpa!"

He hears Kitty tell him to be stealthy and he puts a hand on his mouth then turns back to Patty.

"Be vewy vewy quiet. We're huntin' robots," he says. Then he looks back and forth between Kitty and Patty, "Wait, you guys know each other? OMG! Kismet! Oh, f*ck, I mean..." dramatic whisper "kismet".

And he doesn't mean the feminine clone of Adam Warlock, formerly known as Her. That's what they call a 'deep cut'. Somebody used to read their Unofficial Handbook of the Marvel Universe. I know, you're very impressed.

He salutes Kitty as he joins the others in passing through, "Hold your breath going through - ah, memories of Camp Woebegone."

Quentin Quire has posed:
As they get closer to the wall of the labs, Quentin reaches out again, scanning the guards to guide Kitty to a deserted portion of hallway. As they pass through the wall he frowns, glancing either way down the hall. "Okay, on second glance, these guys are way more chill than they should be..." he says, quietly and circumspectly. "...someone's drugged the guards, big time..."

Moving a step away from the group, he reaches out again to try and find something other than doped up guards to scan.

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I don't want to hide away this time. I have to be of some use right?" Patty states as she falls in with the X-men. She then makes a quick choice. She turns her top around and rips a slit in the back of it. She quickly undoes the belts holding her wings down and lets them out. She drops the belts and breathes deeply. "I'm ready to help out if I can." She exhales an unknowingly held breathe and a gust of wind whips through the area. Its not a strong gust. Its enough to tussle hair and draw attention.

"Wait Robots?" She looks at Deadpool curiously, "What sort of Robots are you hunting?"

At being told to hold her breath, she does so. Then the next thing she knows she is drawn through the wall. The girl exhales deeply as she looks around the interior of the building. She turns her attention to the loud Wade. "Yes we know each other, I am a college student at the school." She comments softly. Her attention goes back to the person who told her to keep her head down. "What do you want me to do, Kitty. I don't wanna be in the way." She is very nervous but eager to prove herself.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
There's probably some extra funky Shi'ar tech to help against electromagnetic attacks against the Blackbird. It's a bit beyond Tabby's skill level.

At least they don't have to get their burglar on when infiltrating the warehouse. A hand is placed where it needs to be and they start heading through matter once breath is held. It's a funky feeling no matter how often she does it. <<So the guards are stoned? Okay, so what now, we hide out till the hit happens? Lie in wait?>> Tabitha asks and ponders plans over a mind link shared with everyone.

<<Hi New Girl? Welcome to the voices in your head. You won't need to say anything out loud. But try to keep any stray thoughts to a minimum.>> Crash course in telepathic communications.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's voice crackles over the comm network, the channel fighting through whatever interference was playing off the electronics in the immediate area. "I'll keep a watch outside, as ever. If I need t'come in, I'll just Kool-Aid Man my way in, cause I'm sure if I need to, it means somethin' has gone awfully wrong..."

As the other szip through the various barriers meant to keep them outside where the flashlight wielding guards could find them, Rogue is up good and high in the darkness of the night time sky.

With the wind whipping her white bangs about the sides of her face, she glides in toward a tall structure, her yellow booted feet touching down quietly upon it. Wedge heeled boots work the Belle around a bit of scaffolding, as she turns to peer out at the warehouse property. Blowing a bubble with the gum, she lets it get good and big before it pops quietly, and is drawn back in between her lips, all whilst her emerald hued eyes watch what activity she can gander from her high up vantage point across from the spooky warehouse of killer robots (allegedly)

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Quire's not finding /anyone/ in the base that's not been drugged up to the point of borderline functinoality. Short of straight out going up to one and dumping a bucket of water onto one, they're barely reactive to anything going on. And yet still moving about in a slipshod fashion, going about (what they perceive as) their duties. It's rather morbidly effective. But the place is empty. Security crew, janitorial staff.. No one else. Every other human in the general area is hunkering down thanks to the power outages and trying to keep warm in the confusion with everything being offline.

As the group goes to arrive in quickly and scan about, they hear clicktering. Clicktering? Dozens upon dozens of small, rapid clicks of metal on wall, floor, and ceiling. Small sounds of buzzing, low pitched hums indicative of small plasma torches.. Presuming they poke their heads around the corner, they would see heading towards the storage rooms and network hubs.. Disks?

Rolling disks consisting of a large central glowing red hardened optic about a half meter in diameter, with a half dozen reinforced spindly mechanical limbs with modular ends consisting of drills, laser cutters, or other things..

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde peers around a corner then leans back. <<ROgue, looks like small disc-shaped robots in here. With cutting arms and such for whatever they are after. That's probably our target. Keep an eye open for anything larger though, everyone. Patty, we'll explain more later. Just try to stay behind us. Help people as you can,>> she sends via Tabitha's telepathy.

Kitty checks to make sure everyone is ready. If they are, she nods. "Let's get them," she says, and rushes forward towards the nearest one. She just reaches down, swiping her phased hand through the robot, knowing her phased body passing through it's memory should shut it down quickly.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Wade Wilson has a plasma rifle sideslung on his body, along with a bandolier of grenades of various types. The bazooka isn't in his pocket, but he is happy to see you.

"What robots? Them robots to start!" he says, pointing at the rolling disks with teh clicketies and the red optic and the oh boy that's bad.

"Don't wait for the whites of their eyes! Their eyes are without whites, just pure red, like a college boy coming back from Coachella!" he cries, using his hip to plan the stock of his rifle while he tries to decide what kind of grenade to use to start.

Please continue mutanting in an orderly fashion.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Well,, it's not brood sentinels. But spider robots are still pretty creepy. It's enough that Boom-Boom doesn't even hesitate to explode the first one she sees, making a finger gun gesture as a stream of condenses and very volatile plasma is directed at it.

<<How much of one do we need to keep so you can like get your haxxor on Kitty?>> she beams over the link.

She'd rather leave them, and the whole place as a heap of rubble and molten slag, but they might want to find out who's been setting all this up.

<<At least the guards won't be a thing. Bet they'd all do with a nap in the break room. Hint hint>> which might be directed to Quire while she blasts away. <<I should start calling myself Extraordinance!>> she ponders maybe another new codename.

Quentin Quire has posed:
<<Well, that's particularly nasty...>> Quentin comments as they round the corner onto the mob of rolling robotics heading down the hallway to burgle. <<On the upside, no interference from the guards...>> he adds, lifting a hand rather needlessly as he raises a telekinetic barrier to either end of the hallway. To Patty and everyone else, his voice will be stronger than the non-telepaths sharing Tabitha's link, instead using his own voice.

As Quentin tries to play crowd control for the robots he agrees with Tabby's thinly veiled suggestion to play crowd control for the guards as well, reaching out to telepathically nudge each and every one of them to the break room.

All the way on the other side of the building from the invading robots and mutants.

Patty Sloan has posed:
<<Okay this is weird. Sorry. Understood. I will stay in the back.>> Patty comments over the telepathic line. She quickly moves to the back of the group. That's about the time she sees the robots. Something about them makes her shudder in fear. As the robot is bashed and or plasma'd she lets out a sigh of relief.

The girl watches and listens as things continue to go crazy. She is on the look out for more spiderbots, not wanting to have to deal with them but is ready if she must.

Rogue has posed:
Outside on the scaffolding surrounding a corner of a nearby building, Rogue can hear the comms, and some of what is happening in the warehouse. She runs a gloved hand through her hair before she gently shakes her head side to side. "Ya'll been in there less than ten minutes, and the stealth has already failed? We gotta work on our tactics an' approaches more." She comments, before huffing softly. "Cyclops gettin' in my head more an' more..." Which, she of course, mutters that last part to herself.

"I'll come in if needs be, just say the word. No sign of anything bigger at this site, unlike the last place we did this kinda thing to. But that's not t'say that there ain't some bigguns inbound if they do know somethin' is up."

Rogue steps over to a metal railing, and places her right hand upon it, her gloved fingers dusting some of the dirt and building detritus from its surface, as her eyes scan the horizon, looking to spot any telltale signs of incoming Sentinels, or otherwise.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Deadpool's shots go to split down two of the spider-sentinels down the middle, the plasma blasts instantly coring them. Three more go to jump at him, two leaping along the walls and ricocheting along the ceiling to try and turn into literal bouncing buzzsaws, intent on slicing through him over like a slasher movie setup run by Kevin McCalister as the third hits the ground, retracting it's limbs and starts to roll along at high speed, all of the edges of it turning to a serrated, rolly polly armored hacksaw!

Kitty goes to phase through one, even as she goes through it and it's electronics go offline, the internal power core hissing and then detonating! Blasting about as the fuel cell would erupt! It's not going to hurt her at all, but if she's not got her eyes closed it would be incredibly blinding along with the shockwave!

Tabitha goes to Boom-Sterminate through them, immediately blowing off two! Another pair of them go full evasive, rolling along at high speed in darting volleys, bouncing about.. While the laser bits on their prongs would charge, and if she doesn't deal wtih them quickly she would have a dozen continuous high power beams of energy lancing over at her to try and cut through her and make her fall apart at the seams!

Patty goes to duck back and move away from the group, going to cover. Right in time to hear a loud, high pitched -buzz- that's indicative of one of the drones cutting.. Right above her. Along the ceiling, it goes to suddenly start to fall down towards her, shifting to a full discus andflying through the air like ahover-frisbee! Where every bit was an edge trying to saw and skewer her!

Quentin goes to effectively seal off the area, blocking it off from the guards that actually for once aren't getting in the way or needing rescuing. Maybe something to consider for the future? A trio of the drones go to approach him, seeming to.. Glow? They're blasting at him not with laser bursts, but with something.. Shiny? SMall? And incredibly fast. Silvery darts? Long, long and thin silvery darts. Small needles just a centimeter or so long and a few millionths of an inch wide. Launched at him by the hundreds at speeds like they were being fired from a machine gun.

Outside? Outside Rogue can make out several of the robots likewise triggering, buzzing up and out of the ground and rapidly digging their way out. They're going not for her - but a dozen or so are rapidly making a beeline over towards the parked X-Jet, rolling, rocketing, or flying along towards it!

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde hears the whine of the cells a moment before they detonate, managing to only partially turn her head away from it. She's left with her vision partially obscured, but not all the way at least.

<<Well, I probably hang around Wolverine too much then,>> Kitty responds over comms and telepathy both. <<Boom Boom, worry about taking them out first, they are self-destructing so holding back might not help anyway,>> she sends back.

And then she's running forward, seeing a bunch of the shapes, though blurrily. Kitt drops down to a bodyslide across the floor while phased, passing through several of them at once. This time she knows to look away and plug her ears!

Quentin Quire has posed:
The first burst of flechettes peppers the wall next to Quentin, throwing up a shower of powder. The TK walls to either end of the hallway stay up, even as the Omega Kid flinches back from the blast.

<<Son of a bitch, these things got a bite...>> he grumbles, backpedalling away from the tracking blasts of silvery shards hitting the wall.

He's powerful enough to snag each and every individual silvery shard of metal as they launch from the robots, but sometimes things just need a heavier touch. Another wall of pink psionic energy forms between Quentin and the drones that have focused on the telepath, scattering shards down to the floor and up into the ceiling before pushing forwards like a plow, rising up and extending around to try and trap the drones in a psionic bubble. And if he catches them, he crushes them.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Deadpool wrestles around with the robots. Rock 'em, sock 'em, oh that's a sawblade ouch oh that's my spleen I was using that oh god watch out for the splatter Patty. I warned you there might be a mess.

He has really nifty keen swords that are sharp enough to penetrate most regular metals. Not adamantium, he's not going to infringe on Logan's copyright. His lawyers are so nasty.

"Take that! And that! And a large one of these! OH HEY NO ENTRY NO ENTRY THAT'S AN OUT DOOR ONLY SIR!"

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty hears the buzzing right above her. She quickly looks up, << I got one above meeeee!>> She lets out an eep As suddenly one of the spider sentinels comes down and targets her. She quickly dodges the inbound attack. It comes at her again and she quickly drops to the ground. "I've had about enough of you!" She states softly. A very strong gust of wind slams the sentinel with the force of a tropical storm. The girl quickly recovers and falls back in line. She hopes that was enough force to take the spider sentinel out. << What are these things!>> She thinks to the group while she breathes heavily.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
<<Heaven forbid they didn't account for guards having a drug tolerance. Last thing we need is a high functioning drug user.>> Tabby considers the idea of a guard opening fire on robots. Or them.

The robot spiders keep getting blasts of Taboom Brand Plasma aimed at them. The woman keeping her feet moving as she runs, jumps, and dodges any of those very dangerous lasers. <<Yeah I mean I could probably breakdance in a volcano, but lasers always seem iffy.>> Considering what might be powering them, she doesn't really want to test any limits to her durability.

"You really should stop getting robots to pick your nose Wade! You don't have many exit only spots." she yells back over the ruckus.

Rogue has posed:
A grimace falls across Rogue's face, as she knows things are not going necessarily smoothly inside. But a bit of movement draws her eyes back toward the empty field that they had parked the jet in. "I knew I should've parked further away." She mutters beneath her breath. From her jacket side pocket, the Belle pulls out her smart phone, having been inside the jet when the EMP went off, it's still functional...

She pulls up a remote connection to the Jet's systems, and with a few glances up from her phone screen, to the black shapes moving toward it in the distance, Rogue activates a feature on the jet, angling it away from the fuselage and toward the approaching robotic menaces.

It is the de-icer feature from the turbo fan engine pods, meant to clear the wind screen of the jet in moments of severe cold flight. But in this instance, Rogue has the gust of hot air dialed up to 11, sending a severe cone of melting metal wind toward the approaching enemies...

"Suck on that, you little shits..." The Southern gal mutters from her perch.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The lasers go to spiral along after Tabitha, even as she leads them on a merry chase that ends in theme xploding! As she goes to detonate them, they go up in limited eruptions - not around one another, but they're spraying the general area in shrapnel and fire. It's chemical in nature, and is smearing over to the walls and the ceiling. There's no triggering over of the sprinkler or fire suppression systems either. For now it just seems to be layering thick on the ceiling and the walls like jelly, firmly splattering in place.

Deadpool goes to slash his way over and moves to skewer through another pair! These ones don't detonate as he pastes through them. THere must be some sort of trigger within for them to register how they go off. This also denies him the chance to charge through anime style as things explode off around him from sheer badassery.

Quentin is able to block off things and catch them in a large bubble. Yes, he might be able to stop hundreds and hundreds of projectiles oging at him, but having a huge shield take up most of them might actually be the more effective way to handle them. Alas he's not playing the proverbial Green Lantern and throwing them back with a huge baseball bat or catcher's glove.. But it's still taking a lot of focus, quite possibly.

Patty goes to whip-wind around to take the one attacking her to smash it hard into the ground, into the wall, into the floor.. Hundreds of bits of it are scattered throughout the hallway.

Rogue's rapid actions save the Blackbird from being in the line of robot - it goes to lift up and the huge burst of wind goes to send the dozen or so Sentinel-droids scattering over to the ground! They would bounce and hit hard. The thing was that they wouldn't be /down/. Rapidly retracting their parts in to form balls and buzzsaws, they would then go to blast towards her with intense bolts of laser energy, a half dozen beams from each quite possibly quickly adding up..

Inside, along the doors to one of the server rooms, several of the drones are cutting through, going to head towards the wholly inert server hubs. Where if not stopped, they might be nearly impossibleto track, chameleon fields along them matching the mirroring of the walls with the minimalist emergency lights.

Others are breaking through to the storage rooms. WHere things are held in stasis fields and locked containers. Inert alien technology, remnants of aliens (particularly dangerous Brood taken from the Savage Land), technological specimens from various extra-planetary threats in containment.. Likewise also moving to try and go to a full concealment style to spread out and separate.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde spots the small sentinels going for what appear to be their targets. <<They are heading for that storage room, and over there where the sign says server room. Boom Boom come with me into the storage room, let's wipe them out or at least save what we can.>>

Kitty is already starting forward as she finishes, <<Quentin take Patty to the server room. Try to protect the servers. Deadpool, gives us cover and then help them in the server room. Keep an eye on Patty.>>

With that she jumps through a wall into the storage room, phasing through a sentinel and then slapping it away towards the others so when it blows up it might take a few with it.

Quentin Quire has posed:
Well alright then. Kitty barks out marching orders as the group mows through the drones in varying cinematic means; telekinetic shields keeping the worse of shrapnel and napalm from reaching any of the gathered mutants. Or Deadpool.

<<Sure. C'mon, new girl.>>

Quentin gestures for Patty to pick herself up and follow him as he makes a break down the hall towards the server cavern. As he rounds the corner and spies the drones cutting through the heavy fireproof doors, he'll reach out with another telekinetic shield to try and cover the door from their various stabby, burny, melty, and cutty bits.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
<<Huh, think they might be designed with evidence clearing arson in mind! Little creepers splashing napalms of something everywhere. Try not to get any on ya.>> she sends over the line.

There's a look up at the sprinklers for the fire suppression and a hmm. <<Yeaah, this place is burning down. We're super on the clock. anyone wanna get the doped up guards out of here before we have ourselves a long pork barbecue?>>

With the plan to split up, Tabby heads to the storage room. <<Don't think we can save much, but we can at least make sure nothing bails with anything snagged.>> she considers while blasting as many robo-spiders as she can. Adding some extra heat to the blasts to just cook off any of the chemical accelerants that might get splashed and make things more on fire.

Rogue has posed:
With the Blackbird in the air, moving on AI pilot mode to keep itself off the ground, and thusly not a target, Rogue ducks back behind the bricks of the scaffolding-covered building that she'd been nestled up against. The various weapons fired at her begin smacking the facade of the building, as the Belle disappeared behind the construction work...

Within seconds, chunks of brick, cement, plaster, and otherwise begin to break away, followed by the upper levels of the scaffolding, as Rogue is flying up in to the sky, taking a healthy amount of wall with her...

A traveling shield, Rogue flies in to the night time sky, carrying with her that section of the building, with yet more chunks tumbling off of it, as it begins to fall apart. However, the bulk majority of the wall stays together, as she flies it toward the little pests that had attempted to harm her jet, and herself! When she flies in lower over them, her gloved hands release the grip upon the wall, allowing it to fall down toward the robots, clearly intending to see how they handle being potentially crushed!

"It's heatin' up out here, ya'll. I'm gettin hot under the collar." Rogue's voice says over the team network, crackling from the continued interference.

Patty Sloan has posed:
<<Coming!>> Patty gets to her feet and quickly follows Quentin. She makes her way down the hall And to the server room. She watches as Quentin makes the shield to protect the door. << I'm going to blast em. >> She tells him as wind she unleashes a windburst at the door. The heavy door would be strong enough to withstand the shock of the sudden sixty mile per hour wind. The spider sentinels? She really hoped weren't strong enough to withstand it. She keeps the wind up, buffeting the robots and hoping to smash them.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The team goes to scatter out as orders are given, chasing robots down as they would roll about merrily! Zigging and zagging, chasing them into server farms, into storage rooms, into places with exotic, inert samples and equipment. To the group going into server rooms, there's the sound of.. Chirping? Like an old school modem. If anyone is quick enough in spotting one, they would see a sentinel roller.. Swallowing up bits inside of one. Right before it would be blasted, disintegrated, or smashed in whatever manner it was neutralized. This was just going old school - squishing and skooshing everything.

As Tabitha has noted in warning, the fire suppression system is down. Everything in the place is likely going to go up in a rather nasty sort of flambe unless there's a way for them to restart the systems quick. But the guards and late night staff are in a state of lethargy. They're at least easy to take command of if someone is going to puppet them psionically, but actually dragging them out would be required or they'd be moving at the speed of a crawl.

Tabitha quickly blasts them off containers and equipment, but as plasmoids would light up and flash fire, she would see them before detonation.. Seeming to swallow bits of whatever they would come into contact with a chirp-deet. Right before she would blast them if they got that far.

Kitty's plans with taking them out with thier own built in destruct device is rather effective as she would phase through. They're hardened, but not hardened enough to take the point blank detonations of whatever thier internal fuel source was. She's able to take out a chunk even while running through them. SHe can phase through things to stop them - but as she does so she also is at risk of taking out some of the stasis fields or other things used to preserve the samples.

Outside, things can best be summarized is 'Rogue Smash' even as she would go to work hre way around crushing, smashing, bashing, and brutalizing things as her precious jet is saved. Whatever small scale detonations would go along about from thier lasers spraying about is quickly stopped as they're crushed over by the falling wall, squishing them like pancakes. The outside area is secure, even as all electronic signals and power systems are still down.

Patty going door to door is effective as she goes to be the wind razor, going to slam a door through to flatten several of them, a sizzling hole in it where they had drilled ont hrough!

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty swipes another sentinel and tosses it into a mess of it's friends, though takes a cut on her hand in the brief interval it isn't phased.

She shakes it, drops of blood splattering on the floor. <<Boom Boom, I'm going to try to get the fire suppression back online, if you can cover me.>>

The phased girl heads over to a network port, hooking the phone of her own design into it. She begins tapping away. "Give the system a quick jolt of juice if you would, I think the power is too low for it to function," she asks Tabitha.

Rogue has posed:
With the spider bots dealt with outside, Rogue hovers in place for a moment, as her eyes look out to the horizon where the Blackbird is moving on a wide circle several miles out now. She sweeps her gaze back toward the warehouse where the team is located. "Ya'll better stop havin' a rave in there, and start gettin' your butts back out here. I think we gotta go, this party is gettin' way too hot to handle."

With her body leaning forward, the Belle shoots off toward the crumbling sections of the building she'd been perched upon earlier, and with a landing skid on the roof, she struts over to a pile of construction equipment, and supplies. Without hesitation, the heaviest items are picked up, and summarily lobbed toward the warehouse, with the intention of slamming heavy shit against the walls, to draw sentinels outside!

With grunts, groans, and muttered colorful words, the Belle just paces back and forth, gathering up a new heavy pile of construction crap, carrying it to the edge of the building, and letting it fly!

"Trebuchet! Courtesy of Mighty Woman!" Rogue shouts, after throwing a giant container of cement bags, the weight tremendous to the average person, but when you can lift up to 75 tons, it's no more than a basketball toss.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
There's a hmmm as she watches the spiders seemingly eat whatever tech they find. <<Think I see how the bastards are getting their score out of here. They're like eating stuff. So like don't let any get out of here if ya can see them!>> she sends out to everyone.

That just leaves Boomie to keep the spiders and their lasers away from Kitty. And herself. <<Sure this is gonna work on a chemical fire? Don't wanna end up making more fire because water made it worse.>> and no way the hand held extinguishers are going to manage to neutralize all the current blaze.

The thud of Rogue throwing stuff against the walls getting wide eyes and raised eyebrows. <<Rogue? Are you fighting something big out there? Don't kill it yet. I wanna piece!>>

Quentin Quire has posed:
Sparing a moment to send the various drugged up guards conga-line out a side door and down to the sidewalk out front, Quentin holds the shield in place between the drones and the door, giving Patty a nice flat surface to flatten the buggers against. From the holes in the door, though, some had already gotten into the server room.

Sweeping the debris away with a gesture, the telepath telekinetically kicks the double doors open; hopping backwards as they rebound off the walls with a BANG, flying back in his face, "Bitch!"

Another gesture to pin the doors open, shimmering in pink psionic energy, Quentin stalks into the pitch black server room. <<Guys, I don't think this is a normal smash & grab. None of them are really making any move to escape...>> he points out as he stalks down the center aisle of the server cavern. <<To save themselves or to save their loot...>> he rounds the corner on one drone that looks like it's carved a hard drive out of a server rack and is trying to stuff the platters into what looks like a mouth full of lasers.

He snaps out his hand, snagging the drone in a bubble of energy and pulling it off the rack, spindly arms pinwheeling for purchase as he brings it closer.

<<I think they're just scanning everything uploading it.>>

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty quickly follows Quentin into the server room. SHe quickly gets an idea, "I'm gonna make sure they don't come in through the door." She whispers. The sound of rushing air can be heard as she makes a downburst right in the doorway. Anything that tries to come through the door would be met with a very strong wind slamming downward on them. << Anything I can do to help? >> She asks Quentin as she watches him thrash a few of the of the spider sentinels.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Kitty is able to rapidly dive over towards the system. It's not dead - just completely drained and disabled. It's not damaged - just completely out of energy and inert. So upon her giving it a quick start - but more importantly the jolt of energy from Tabitha giving it a quick charge of plasma which kicks it online.. THen the system is activated. Rather than water, it's blasting everything down with fire retardant foam and gel capsules designed to contain chemicals and splatter the entire area to coat it in thick resin. Even as the jelly goes to line the walls, any sort of detonation and flame is contained by the thick residue rapidly coating everything.

Of course it means that anyone out in the midst of things is getting sprayed down in thick cream and goo and coated ith it.. But now they're fire proof! But they're definitely going to need to burn the uniforms and perhaps for once appreciate that all the cameras in the area are shut down.

Outside Mighty Woman goes to rapidly yank and pull over with the wall! Any remaining Sentinels that aren't already in the storage areas or server rooms (where they're being mashed by the rest of the team) rapidly go outside over where she goes to lift.. Hoist.. And HURL as she goes to launch it through whatever one sof them are left out there! Now the area is quiet.. Well, beyond the sounds normally associated with Mighty Woman doing her bit with suburban renewal.

Quentin's rapid analysis is right as he looks upon one of the drones that mid-consumption of something is rapidly blasted and detonated over as the psionic blasts would rip it apart. They weren't bothering to pick things up and flee - just trying to get in contact with whatever they could. He's quickly able to lift a drone to bring it closer for analysis, separating it from the hard drive even as it goes to spin about, trying to blast at him with a small laser bolter that would do nothing over within the psionic container.

The group is on the last spread of Sentinels - they can probbaly finish off them all now and quickly. But they also have to make sure ont op of suppressing the fires that anything dangerous inside remains inert! Jean might have psychic-fried them to kingdom come but there was no sense risking a broodlet waking up.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde finishes with the fire suppression system, and gets sprayed with fire-retardant gel for her troubles. <<Good job, Boom Boom,>> she sends, and then pauses as Quentin points out what is going on on their end.

<<Looks like most of them are down, just a few left. Too late to start jamming them I'm afraid, by the time I get the Blackbird doing something that might have a chance, we can just have eliminated them. Let's finish them off!>> Kitty sends.

And then she's hurrying through, frying their memory with passes of her phased body through them. Sheltering her eyes from the resulting blasts.

Rogue has posed:
With the western wall of the warehouse completely bashed up, covered in dry cement, and pieces of machinery, or boxes of tools spilled out across the yard, Rogue jumps up on to the ledge of the building she'd been atop. Covered in dust, and grime, she puts her hands upon her hips, and speaks over comms again. "I'm ready for a fight, but everything out here is too small time for me t'bother with." She responds to Tabitha. "Ya'll better shake tail, and get out here though, before the main event does arrive. I'm guessin' it'll be like last time, except tripled!"

The Mississippi Magnolia steps off the edge of the building, dipping low in to a hovering flight path, that has her headed toward the field to the south.

"Jet is comin' back in for extraction. If anyone needs a lift, let me know, either roof or yard outside, I can swoop in and get ya."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
If anyone asked Boom-Boom, she'd be happy to let the place burn. But with the fire suppression going after a little extra charge from Tabby shoving her hand into some wiring, it'll mean bombs from here on in.

<<Gonna have to go old school on the spiderbots.>> she states and starts generating tangible spheroids of glowing plasma. The sort that could bounce a ways before exploding.

Thankfully her telekinetic control remains even with them. So when they go off, even with foam coating them, the blast waves do plenty of damage. <<Do we really wanna know where they're going? Or at least uploading to?>> That'll probably come with the sample Quire caught while she blasts the last few things.

Her concern for collateral property damage really low. She doesn't want normal brood anywhere, let alone the posibility of cyborg Brood. <<Hey New Girl, you okay up in this? You got a name so I don't keep calling you New Girl?>>

Quentin Quire has posed:
"Well shit." Quentin says to himself even as he contains the drone's little laser bursts. "Calm down, Sparky..." he grumbles, telekinetically patting the robot down for any self-incendiary devices to try and keep it from self-destructing.

They're going to need some kind of lead, since the rest of them are just scanning and dying.

Shielding himself and Patty from the worst of the fire suppression gunk, he gives the winged girl a thumbs up and a <<See if you can smash any more of them in here...>> as he kinetically crushes Sparky's laser emitter.

To the rest of the group <<...we've basically dropped the ball here, folks.>> he points out, mmostly agreeing with Kitty as he crushes a different drone; keeping Sparky safe for electronic interrogation. <<...If they've just been scanning shit from the get-go, they've already gotten away with dronefulls of data.. Security mooks are stoned out on the street corner, we should clean up and clear out. Emergency services is gonna twig on pretty soon since you guy's managed to get the fire surpression system going. Those usually have dedicated shielded lines for just such an emergency.>>

Patty Sloan has posed:
<< That I can do! >> Patty focuses and starts trying to manipulate the remaining spider sentinels. Using her wind she pulls as many of them as she can together. It is taking a little time and its a challenge for her. Still she is doing the best she can. As soon as they are grouped up, She unleashes hell on them. Hell in the form of tropical storm force wind blasting them down into the ground. Patty keeps going, Trying to smash as many of them as she can.

At Tabby's question, Patty smiles. << Ummm My name is Patty but I guess Sylph works too. >> Totally botched the whole being cool with the name thing. She shrugs and continues smashing spider bots.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The group had managed to fight their way through and in those final few precious seconds take out the final Sentinel Drones (Spider-Bots might get them threatended with copyright infringement if they were called that) and the fire systems are up and running. There are definitely alerts being put out - even with all of the communications and power in the area down, the facility going completely off the grid will have been noticed and a response team be coming. The damage is contained and specialists can handle containment of any of the possible hazardous things stored there.

As a matter of fact there are the sounds of assault helicopters inbound - definitely not standard STAR Labs issue. They're right on time when it comes to getting out at the right moment. But the Sentinels are also showing something dangerous.

Learning.

If they hadn't been thorough in their surveillance no one might have everknown of the breakin. The Sentinels had been extremely sneaky, covered their bases, and done so subtly. And with the damage to the place they might not /know/ what had possibly been nabbed.
