Empire Diner For Dinner
Date of Scene: 30 March 2024
Location: Empire Diner
Synopsis: After a performance by a Wakandan singer visiting the US, various members of the Avengers along with a helpful Mary Bromfield meet up at Empire Diner for dinner. Joshua Foley and Jane Roe introduce themselves.
Cast of Characters: Steve Rogers, Mary Bromfield, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, T'Challa, Joshua Foley, Jane Roe, Pepper Potts, Scott Lang

Steve Rogers has posed:
Tonight was a night out for a few of the Avengers. T'Challa had told the group about a singer who was coming over from Wakanda to spend a semester teaching at Julliard, and they were holding a concert for her. Most of the Avengers weren't free for the concert, but Steve had happily volunteered to go. While Natasha wasn't able to attend with them, Steve did his best to exact a promise from her that she'd meet them at the Empire Diner afterwards to eat.

Since T'Challa had the extra tickets, Steve also decided to try to hasten getting the adware off of his laptop. And so he'd put in a call to Mary Bromfield who had offered to help him with it. Telling her about the concert, and dinner after, and asking if she'd like to be his "plus one", as Wanda had referred to it.

And so the trio arrive at the diner. Steve though is looking a little the worse for wear. He's got a cast on the lower part of his left arm, and the arm is hanging from a sling. Most of the bruises he had are almost gone, but can just barely be seen still. "T'Challa, she has such an amazing voice. I'm glad you invited us to go see her," he says as he moves to hold the door for Mary and the Wakandan monarch, and any of T'Challa's guards he has along.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary was, well, not doing anything on her streams as it was a day off. And for once she wasn't doing anything as Thunderbolt either. But when Captain America called to ask her about the laptop, well... you don't say no to a chance like that. And being invited to the concert after was just a bonus!

So Mary, in her secret identity, smiles over at Steve and T'Challa, "That was amazing! I never thought I'd get a chance to go to a concert like that." She's trying really hard not to geek out about this, but well... she can't help but be a little starstruck with the situation. "Really, that was one of the best shows I think I've ever seen."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha is not the type to socialize normally. But she still occasionally gets out. After a recent report of a stand down with the Juggernaut over in Times Square that had ended without casualties or collateral damage (she had offered him backstage passes to a Dazzler concert) she had some time to spare after finishing with SHIELD trainees. She's arriving at the diner just a little bit later than the rest of the group surprisingly.

NOrmally she gets there before anyone else does to scope it out.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Bruce Banner met up after the concert. Bruce's musical tastes tend towards white noise and classical for the most part. He does like diners, though, having acquired a taste for greasy spoons during his days on the run. He spent lots of nights with no shelter nursing coffee while waiting for the next bus or just the energy to put his feet back on the pavement.

That was years ago, but the mark still remains.

He smiles and raises a hand in greeting to his fellow Avengers, introduces himself to Mary with a handshake and picks up a menu to hopefully look for something worthwhile. "I'm tempted to order breakfast. I love places where you can always order breakfast."

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa takes his time and continues to smile in the direction of those that are gathered and heading into the diner. There is a moment where T'Challa offers a knowing nod to both Steve and Mary, "Her voice is quite beloved." Perhaps T'Challa has heard this woman so many more times. Perhaps he has one or two of her albums. Perhaps she used to be one of the Adored Ones. There are quite a few options that could be.

What is not a question, though, is the Dora Milaje. While Steve being a gentleman is something that would normally not be an issue, the four Dora Milaje that are with him are not going for that. One reaches for the door while another one nods for Steve to go inside and the other two wait for that to happen before they lead the way inside for T'Challa and then for the other two to follow him. There's a good chance they have already checked out this Empire Diner as well. Like Natasha.

Joshua Foley has posed:
Already seated in the diner, Joshua Foley had finished a shift at the Bushwick Medical Center. Tired, but hungry, he is ready to get something to eat before he heads back home to the Avenger that he lives with. As more people - some recognizable start to arrive, the golden mutant looks up from his coffee cup and even from here, he can see the injuries to Steve.

They're healing, that much he could tell - Steve does have a fast recovery, but it still takes time. For a moment, Joshua considers not getting involved.

But he could hear Sara facepalming from here if he does that. Setting aside his coffee, the young man rises from his seat, and heads over to the group. Of course, at first he may very well come across as an autograph hound. "Hi... uh. Huge fan." he offers to the table at large, before he glances over at Steve and offers his hand. "I ah, am Joshua. Joshua Foley. You may know my girlfriend, Sara Pezzini?" he asks, and then to the arm. "I can speed that up for you. My power's accelerated healing of others." offers the golden mutant.

Jane Roe has posed:
Not everybody in the diner did listen to the amazing singer, and one of them was staring onto their laptop screen, a tesseract on it folding and folding and folding and never seeming to stop as the twodimensional projection of a threedimensinal projection of a fourdimensinal hypercube was doing its best to show the facetts while fingers danced over the keys. Keys that didn't even seem to result in characters getting added to the screen. What was the pixiecut woman doing? Well, Jane was for one compiling a file, typing up a report that summarizes some guy's online activity. 90% of hacking was social engineering after all, and she was hired to tell where a network of people spreading misinformation was sitting. Baku.

On the other hand, she was watching the tesseract spin and turn, the faces showing glimpses of what was happening around her. The Tesseract was more a representation of the surrounding network data. People's phones arriving, cellphone numbers called, unencrypted SMS, internet traffice and such.

As the group of Avengers started dripping in, the clackering of keys slowed, the tesseract's faces seeming to turn a more orange color as the encrypted traffic rose. Then the typing stopped as Jane reached for a stale cold coffee at the side, then turned the head to look at the entry and... Mr. Rogers.

"Look what the Cap dragged in..."

Pepper Potts has posed:
It's true; Pepper Potts is late to the party, though not by any fault of her own. Well, okay, absolutely her fault. There are no set hours to her work, and communications with subsidiaries from all around the world means being available at strange hours. So, finally a black sedan pulls up along the side of the road, stops, and the driver runs out to open the back door.

A familiar (to some) redhead exits the car, and once the door closes behind her, begins her path towards the rapidly filling Diner. Familiar faces are seen, and as she approaches, Pepper's smile begins to grow warm and genuine. She's still dressed in business, but at least her hair is now down, lending a little bit of a casual air.

"Good evening all, I'm sorry I'm late. And I'm really sorry that I missed the concert."

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve Rogers has no problem yielding the door holding to the Dora Milaje, passing through and following the hostess over to a table. They get a large round one in a corner at the urging of the manager as he recognizes famous people, giving far more space than they need.

Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanov are greeted warmly as they arrive. "I am too, Bruce," Steve says with a chuckle about the temptation to order breakfast. "It's hard to beat eggs and sausage and pancakes. So Natasha, have you met Mary Bromfield? She was kind enough to help me with some issues on my laptop," he says, making that introduction as Bruce has already introduced himself.

Steve glances up as Joshua Foley comes over. Joshua's golden skin only gets the briefest glance from Steve. "Why yes, of course we know Sara," Steve confirms, shaking Josh's hand. "Very nice to meet you. Will have to come by the Mansion sometime," he says.

The explanation about Joshua's healing ability causes one of Steve's eyebrows to go up. He glances about at the other Avengers, and gives Joshua a nod. "If you could, I'd appreciate it. Broke a bone on a mission," he says of the cast and his arm in the sling. "Do I need to do anything? Or would this be better for after we're done eating?" he asks.

He spots Pepper coming over across the diner and flashes her a warm smile. "The concert really was amazing, sorry you missed it, Pepper," Steve says, rising back to his feet as the lady arrives, before taking it again. "But we're glad you're here now. This is Joshua Foley, Sara's boyfriend. And this is Mary Bromfield, my savior when it comes to my laptop," he says, introducing Mary to Pepper.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would gie a nod over at Steve, "Good to see you. I hope that all has been well." She would listen over to the description of Joshua and his abilities, going to add it over to a mental file. The Avengers and SHIELD were mostly on good terms with Xavier's, but still this sort of information was alwyas useful to have when it came down to things.

"I'm glad to see that all of us can get together sometimes. IT's been too long.." Even Natasha is going to admit that (theoretically) the team could stand to use some social interactions together. Well.. Moreso than she's prone to, at least.

Joshua Foley has posed:
A brief smile as Sara is recognized as an Avenger. Okay, good. She wasn't just teasing him about that! But when Steve asks how long it will take, Joshua gives a shake of his head. "Nothing to do, will only take a second!" And in fact, while Joshua is shaking Steve's hand, he had gotten a more comprehensive read on Steve's injuries. "Yeah, the broken bone seems to be the worst of it." he agrees easily.

And retaking Steve's hand, Joshua's skin starts to glow and eminate a soft golden color as he starts the healing process, knitting the bone back together without ever having to do any kind of surgery, and healing the bruising while he's at it. Once he's done, he releases the hand and he tilts his head to grin. "You're in remarkable shape!"

"Ah, so, you're good!" he offers quickly. And with that, it seems he's about to just retreat to his table and coffee now that he's done what he came over to do.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles a little shyly as she's introduced, "Wow, it's nice to meet all of you, and hello again Doctor Banner. It's been a little while." She doesn't sound too surprised that she's not remembered, since she's not exactly all that memorable at the moment. "But yeah, after having dealt with a lot of hardware it wasn't too hard to get all that adware futzing up your laptop Miste.. er, Steve." She looks a little not used to calling people by their first names just yet.

Though when Joshua does the healing for Steve, Mary's eyes go wide, "Wow, that's super cool!"

Steve Rogers has posed:
Cap's head tilts a little bit as he feels a tingle running through him even before he catches the glow about Joshua. His eyes widen just slightly. "That's... remarkable," he says, a hand going to his cheek down by the jawline, where there was a mostly faded bruise that disappears completely under Josh's touch. Steve pokes at the spot, it must have still been a little sore for him to notice it's gone.

He flexes the hand at the end of the cast a few times. Then pulls his arm out of the sling and moves it around a little bit. Steve lets out a laugh. "Joshua, that's wonderful. Please, join us if you're free," he says, motioning to one of the myriad of seats around the table. Steve nods to Mary Bromfield, "It really is," he agrees. "I think Clint in particular would definitely enjoy meeting you," Steve says to Josh then. "You really should come by the Mansion. I imagine our medical team would like to talk to you if you're willing?"

Steve rises to his feet and says, "Will you all excuse me for a moment?" He removes the sling as he heads off for the restrooms, going into the men's room. He comes back out about a minute later, the cast gone, Steve rolling down the sleeve that he'd left unbuttoned and rolled up due to the cast. He returns to the table to take a seat again. "Thank you Joshua, feels good as new."

Pepper Potts has posed:
"Doubly so. I understand she is amazing," Pepper enthuses. "Mr Foley," the redhead repeats as she arrives at the table, "A pleasure." Then, "Ms Bromfield. Thank you for rescuing Steve." It's an honest tone she takes, if not a little teasing at Cap's expense.

Though, the cast is noted, and there's a moment of shadow that creases her face. There's that /look/, expressing that she'll be asking about that injury later.. and healing?

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod at Pepper< "Ms. Potts, I hope that all is wlel. And have you had to corner Anthony as of late to keep him on task? Or are you starting to find more proactive ways to get him away from his workshop at four in the morning when he can't sleep and he had an impulse?" As far as Natasha was concerned, it was the type of things that geniuses did when they were bored and needed distraction that were amongst the most dangerous things.

Maybe he needed Darcy as an intern assigned to the graveyard shift to sit in the workshop with a firehose? No, then Stark would just move his workshop elsewhere.

T'Challa has posed:
The Dora Milaje keep a close distance near the big table but otherwise seem to be more focused on keeping an eye on the diner and any patrons that do not look as though they belong. They also may have dedicated a couple of Kimoyo Beads to the area around the diner to keep extra eyes on the place. They simply stand there and allow their presence to be focused and intimidating with a dash of protective.

T'Challa takes the opportunity of the diner's flood gates opening up to offer greetings to those gathering amongst them all. "You certainly know how to draw a crowd, Steve." T'Challa offers a bit of a teasing smile in the middle of looking back in the direction of some of the other individuals that have come in since his own entry.

"Everyone? Order whatever you like. I will be taking care of tonight's bill." That's T'Challa seeking to beat the Captain to the gentlemanly punch.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Bruce Banner raises an eyebrow at Joshua, "That sounds like a remarkable ability indeed. Is it pure biokinesis or do you activate a process? An ability to manipulate the biology of other people could be...quite potent," he says. Bruce's scientific curiosity can't help but be a little bit triggered.

He orders a stack of pancakes and some bacon, "One of the few benefits of my gamma irradiated physiology is I don't have to watch my cholesterol," he says. He regards the bodyguards around T'challa with a nervous regard. They no doubt see him as the threat he inevitably is. Bruce will never be a safe person to be around. That's why he's so often anti-social. Better not to put others in danger by being near him.

But he's still human and so, tonight, he's eating breakfast food with the Avengers in a diner while powerful warrior women lurk at the perimeter. This is what passes for his normal now.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve Rogers grins back at Pepper at her teasing. "I know, it was all my own doing," Steve says of the barrage of pop up ads that would assail him every time he tried to use the web browser. "Mary took care of it though. I tried to follow what she was doing. But all I managed to do was become sure that she's very intelligent," he says, flashing a smile to the young woman.

His eyes go over to Jane Roe for a moment as he's talking about laptops. Seeing her working on her own machine. If they meet eyes, he gives a friendly enough smile and nod of greeting.

Steve puts in an order for breakfast as well, a hearty mix of eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and a small platter of pancakes. "Thank you," Steve tells T'Challa as he offers to pick up the bill.

His order placed, Steve relaxes back in his seat and takes a moment to look around the diner. The group in the corner are definitely getting some looks from the other patrons. A few pictures being taken now and then.

Pepper Potts has posed:
As Pepper settles herself and finds a spot at the ever growing table, she's acknowledging everyone around her with a nod and a smile, even if she doesn't actually //say// anything. Natasha, however, gets a hint of that grin and she nods slowly, her words following just as, "Tony is.. Tony. I have very little control beyond the slight nudge, so I can't take credit for much of anything." Modest? Probably. "I'm hoping he'll show, but when he's on a project.." She'll bring him something to eat, no doubt.

"Oh, coffee please." That's all that Pepper wants. It's a social night, and wine is not on the menu.

Steve's response bring a quiet laugh from the redhead. "You'll get it, one day."

Joshua Foley has posed:
There's a glance to where Joshua's coffee was, and already, another waitress has policed it up and now, well, he's table-less. Guess he's taking a seat after all. "S-sure!" he offers quickly. Now that he's over his original bravery and need to help, he is retreating back into the shell he usually hides in.

That is until he gets the blinders off and notices Mary and offers her a grin. "Oh, you're Mary, right? Marie-Ange showed me one of your streams to get me to subscribe to try to game with you sometime." he admits with a laugh. "We... ah work together at the Candle, Book, and Belle?" he offers to her, hopefully she - and anyone else that knows the name of the Justice League Dark's base, will recognize the connection between Mary's girlfriend and him.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary blushes a little, "Aw shucks, it wasn't anything big, I mean, just had to go in and..." She then breaks into a fair amount of focused technobabble, before she blinks and stops, "Er, I mean, yeah, I've seen way worse. Since I do streaming for a living my foster family tends to come to me for tech support anyway." She smiles over at Pepper, "Thanks, Ms. Potts. Honestly, I'm just happy to be here. But um, I'll take a bacon cheeseburger with the over-hard egg, all the trimmings." That last said to the waitress as she takes the orders.

And then she brightens at Joshua, "Oh, you're THAT Joshua! Yeah, Marie couldn't make it, otherwise she'd have loved to see that concert." She looks positively /thrilled/ that someone knows she's a streamer, at least, "Yeah, heard about that. Really need to swing by sometime and check it out, honestly."

Jane Roe has posed:
Watching the people mingling and discussing, the math screen behind her shoulder spinning on and on. Was it really folding? In 4D space it was technically rotating around some axis, but it sure looked like folding and bending and the whole thing collapsing back in on itself... math is strange.

As Steve looked over to her, she tilted the head for a heartbeat, then nodded. A glance that told pretty much 'I know you.' The rest though? Half the faces she didn't recognize... There's of course Steve, there's the Wakandan Ruler T'Challa, the Angry Doctor Banner. and there's Miss Potts. The rest? Some random student and a colorful mutant. Oh, and a redhead, probably... uh... For a moment, she chuckled, getting up, the laptop unattended but continuing its little spinning screen as she closes in on Cap.

Offering her hand like it held a dictaphone clearly not in it, she clears her throat. "Mr. Rogers, one question to a veteran, if you allow. Ain't the redhead compannion a little young for you?" The glance with the eyes to the side was to Nat, not Mary.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve Rogers smiles softly as Joshua recognizes Mary, and then Mary goes into some technical details on what it took to remove the adware from his laptop. The waitress returns with drinks and food for those who have played orders. Steve and Bruce Banner both having gone with the 'breakfast any time' option.

Adding a little syrup to his short stack of pancakes, Steve glances up as the woman he saw working on her computer approaches. He gives Jane a pleasant smile, and after she's asked him about Natasha being too young for him, Steve can't help but break out into a mirthful grin.

"Well, I was always taught it's not polite for a man to discuss a woman's age," he says. Though his lips are quirking at the edge with an obvious attempt to hide a grin as he looks towards Natasha Romanov, the only person at the table anywhere near to his age.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Bruce Banner listens but doesn't add much to the conversation. Not that he's brooding. If anything, he's having a 'good' night and he doesn't feel particularly stressed or overworked. He did finally get through a few tough hours on the computer, as he had begun, in his middle age, to decide to learn to code. Something to keep the mind busy.

Hence the coffee.

He arches an eyebrow at Jane's question to Cap, "Steve's a little old for all of us. Not his fault he kept his looks better than most," he says. "Benefits of a good rest."

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott isn't fasionably late, that requires being fashionable. Scott's just wearing a simple dark blue button down shirt, untucked and a lighter shade of blue jeans. His pale green eyes look over everyone. He gives a wave, "Not too late am I?" he asks. Scott is always afraind of intruding when he's late. Yes, he's part of this team, but social protocols.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would go to fold her hands together ands mile, "What? Is there something wrong with liking older men?" She would query over so casually. "After all, there's something to be said for having experience and knowingw hat you're doing. That can make for quite a bit in the hands of someone you get along well with."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Yeah, things are in a bit of flux." Joshua admits to Mary. "Mom... I mean, Nettie, had to go on a thing and with Miss Lydia off on a book tour, Sara's managing things while Belinda and I try to figure out how to run things." A soft breath of thought, but somewhere in there, he realizes there was an invitation. To the Mansion.

"O-oh. Avenger's mansion. I mean, if Sara's okay with it, sure!" he manages finally. "I mean, I'm just... I just heal people. I'm not very you know..." a broad gesture to the table at large. "Superheroic. King or Captain, or super smart or or..." he might be having a moment of trying to figure out where his brain is.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary gives Joshua a wry look, "I mean, I just helped fix a laptop, so..." She shrugs a little bit, then looks over at Jane with a bit of a wrinkle to her nose. Though Nat's answer causes Mary to actually laugh slightly, though she does give Bruce a wry look at his answer to Jane.

T'Challa has posed:
"Healing others is vastly more important than most people realize. Vastly more heroic than causing thousands of dollars in collateral damage because an individual in a funny costume has decided that they would like to skip the line at the local banking establishment."

Those words are sent in the direction of Mr. Foley with a bit of a smile attached. Clearly, he wants to encourage the young man but also maybe he's laying it on a bit thick about the silliness of what heroes have to do when fighting villains.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Natasha's reply for Jane draws a soft grin from Steve. The grin turns to a gentler, warmer smile at Joshua's reaction. "Healing people? That's a pretty amazing thing to be able to do, Joshua," Steve tells him in a more serious tone. "And some of the bravest people I knew were medics who risked themselves to give medical aid to others."

The short stack of pancakes has a wedge cut out of them and Steve takes his first bite. He eats slowly, carrying on the conversation as he does. Though the arrival of Scott Lang causes him to set his fork down. "Scott, glad you could make it. Grab a seat," he says, motioning towards the few remaining seats at the big corner table they were given. "His Majesty has said this is on his tab," Steve says of the food and drinks that are on the table. And a waitress comes over to take Scott's order.

Jane Roe has posed:
"How sweet of you, Cap. I mean, who else can boast a Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, Bronze and Silver Star, and half some dozen others, and still look as good as you today? Well, Audie Murphy sure got the bling, but not the skin." Turning the head a little left after an almost friendly wink, the pixie musters Bruce.

"Ahh, the doctor. As I just said, Doctor Banner. I heard you have a little anger problem, right? What pressing socioeconomic matter is nagging at you today, so I can advise people to stop being bigots and assholes and for once try to be better people in fear of retribution by Him? I hope it is hunting Elephants, because I am truely digusted by what happened in Kenya." Banter banter banter, and another almost teasing wink before the eyes wander over to Natasha.

"If something is wrong with liking older men? Of course not! Especially not if they look like they chould grow out their hair and film Conan part Three."

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott's quick to take the first available seat. Steve brings up the tab, "So does that meant we can get two, or three, of everything then?!" there's a little too much joy in his voice. Tony could afford such a tab. Plus, it would help the palce out, wouldn't it? An order like this would just help out the place. That's how he ationalizes it. Scott may not pull the trigger though.

He leans over his spot then waves to people. A few new faces stick out. "Hi. I'm Scott!" he's being open on that front. "Nice to meet you...," his voice trails a little bit hoping to get some introductions. Those eyes just rest on each of them.

Bruce Banner has posed:
Bruce Banner frowns at Jane's remark, "I...don't know what to say to that. I do have an anger problem, yes. I'm working on it. I don't ever mean to threaten anyone."

He doesn't have to.

"I'm not a fan of elephant hunting either. Animals deserve our compassion and our protection. It's a shame some people just have to be assholes for money."

Steve Rogers has posed:
When Scott takes a seat to join them, and comments about ordering more than one, Steve gives a quiet chuckle but will let T'Challa answer that part. "Scott, this is Mary Bromfield. She helped fix my laptop and was gracious enough to accompany us to the concert. And this is Joshua Foley, Sara's boyfriend," he says.

"I believe you know everyone else," Cap tells Scott, "except for," and then he turns back to Jane Roe with an expression as if he is referring to Jane, and asking her name in doing so.

Jane Roe has posed:
"I am sorry doctor Banner, some people should feel threatened that their hideous doings could anger the Hulk. And that should stop them in their tracks and make them consider being better people. Trying to get the 'big 6' full is no reason to kill an elephant, especially not if you are just a teethpuller from new jersey. I mean, What's the Kantian Imperative today... Do only to other what you want others to do to you to. And don't anger the Hulk."

Yep, she hadn't introduced herself. letting Cap's question linger like two, three seconds, she shrugged. "Good question, I have no idea myself actually, so... I guess I am nobody? But since I ain't looking like Terrence Hill, I can't be Nobody, so try the alternative. Jane Roe, because that sounds better than daredare for 'somebody'."

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary gives Scott a warm smile, "Hey Scott! I'm just a streamer... and apparently, technical support. Which I'm totally cool with, honestly." She waves over at him, and she seems to be gracefully ignoring Jane at the moment, since she's not much of an anybody unless you like gamer streams. Though she does keep an eye on Bruce to make sure he's not getting riled up by Jane.

Joshua Foley has posed:
When T'Challa addresses him directly, the color would drain from Joshua's face, if it wasn't for his golden hue. "Thank you, Your Majesty..." he manages, a brief bow of his head with a quick glance down to try to hide the snicker at the joke made, he's not doing a good job of it though. Damn charisma. After the small laugh, when Steve joins in, he realizes he can't hide in his hoodie forever. "Okay, okay, I'll visit, I promise. But I have to admit, I don't really know everyone about how my ability works." he conresses.

"Most of the time, I just have to imagine what the wound healed looks like... and as long as I have contact, I can... you know." A gesture to Steve's healed arm. "I used to have to touch someone to read their medical status, you know, like... a human EKG and everything... but I can do that at a distance now... and that's how I saw your arm. And... I'm overexplaining. Sorry."

Before he orders a fresh coffee, he hears his name and glances to Scott. "Hi!"

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper nudges Steve under the table as Joshua explains his ability. "I think there's another Avenger that might need you on the roster." One that usually gets hurt at least once, or twice.. "I do worry about him." The coffee is lifted and tasted for the first time, and just over the top, "It's not Tony."

Steve Rogers has posed:
"That is a very useful ability, Joshua," Steve replies to the golden-skinned mutant. He flashes a quick grin over to Pepper. "And yes, there's a member of the team who would probably appreciate you even more than most," he says. The open ribbing about Clint's propensity to get injured, and how that brings the team together, is an ongoing thing at Avenger's Mansion.

Steve may not have quite followed all of that from Jane, often missing out on more contemporary references. But he tells her, "Nice to meet you, Ms. Roe. So are you working on something for school over there on your computer?" he asks, having seen the tesseract shape on it apparently.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would listen over to the others attentively and go to fold her hands together and then gesture at Pepper. "Ultimately, that might nto be your place to discuss the matter on." Softly. It was also something of privacy and willingness.

Scott Lang has posed:
"How very Dane Joe of you, I like the name," Scott honestly does think Jane Roe is a clever name. Then his voice gives away to something a bit more serious, "You got the Captain on this one. He'll help you remember who you are, if you want that," and he firmly believes that.

Mary's up with the introduction, "I don't mind gamer streams. Let me know if you need help on the eletrical side of things," he is an electrical engerineer. So, running cables, making things run properly, all of that is in his wheel house.

He'll give Pepper and Natasha nods of greeting as it is good to see them again.

And then he waits his turn to address T'Challa. There is an idea forming in Scott's head. It's more of a request really. Nothing too bad, just different.

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa continues to keep his facial expression as even keeled and friendly as possible during this suddenly quite crowded dinner at the diner. He, of course, blames this all on the presence of Captain America and very likely someone posting on social media about it. However, if it is driving business to this place then he's all for it. T'Challa is a big fan of working hard to achieve your own success and glory. It's all about making sure that everyone is having a good time.

"Do feel free to order to your heart's content. If you would like to take some food home, by all means."

Jane Roe has posed:
Jane Roe says, "School? Nah, I ain't in school Mr. Rogers. I mean, What got school to offer to someone that ain't got no existance on paper? And believe me, I had my brain picked in once already by 'certified experts'. While they got out soem chip, there ain't nothing of remembering in between my ears." Jane shruggs, the laptop behind, totally unattended, starting to show a quick stream of pictures, before the flickering tesseract returns. Brain scans, surgery photos, a few other things...

"Game streams... Do they have proper programming streams on that platform or just people trying to break the games?""

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Nah, I don't break the games, but I'm not much for streaming programming. But I mostly do RPGs and stuff like that, occasionally do a livecast of my local group playing too, which can be fun. My little brothers have a superhero podcast they do." She pauses, then chuckles wryly, "Billy and Freddy are gonna be /so/ jealous of this."

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott waits for T'Challa to speak before a request will come forward. "Can I see some of your tech one day? Wakandan tech is fascinating. Music theorist don't get a chance to ask people like Mozart why they made their various choices. From my perspective, it would like seeing a Mozart at work," Scott's just going to be honest here. He wants to see how the Wakandan tech work from an engineer prespective. IT cane anything, but cutting edge would be preferred. It would be a mind blowing read.

Jane Roe has posed:
"Billy, Freddy... Mary..." The Eyes of Jane seem to cross a moment, the tesseract thingy on the screen flickering but not fully vanishing as page after page flickers throguh in muted colors. If someone would actually pay attention... someone was using it for research while standing a few feet away.

"ContraryMary. 495473 people subscribed to channel updates. According to the statistics, the last stream had 2462 viewers concurrently tops. Apparently, just sitting there and talking pays. Though they don't pay in bitcoin and require a registred bank account and a tax number. Bureaucratic brownnosers."

T'Challa has posed:
"You are going to want to chat with Shuri about the nuts and bolts of these things. She loves to talk about it. I will make sure you two get in contact." That will also give T'Challa an opportunity to pick and choose what technology he's going to allow to be looked at by outsiders. Even allied ones. There are some Wakandan tips and tricks that do not need to fall in the hands of those not of Wakandan descent.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins over at Jane, "Yeah, you got me. It's a bit of a weird living at times, but it is a living. Works out pretty well too, but I guess people just like what they see when I play." She flashes Joshua a grin, "You should have seen the time I had Marie on playing Elden Ring for the first time. I think that's one of my highest rated streams."

Scott Lang has posed:
"Then can I set up a meeting with Shuri?" Scott is trying not to overstep boundaries with a friend, that happens to be a king. It's a respect to Wakanda, T'Challa and his authority. And so he just waits to see if that will be welcomed or not.

"Neat! Elden Ring," Scott has tried that one. IT's one of the few games he knows about from recent times. His gaze just slips between T'Challa and Mary.

Jane Roe has posed:
Jane was clearly not looking up anything on the phone, or looking to the laptop standing over on the table, but it seemed to still do something. "Your best rated stream... that'd be last June. And no, I have not seen it. Don'T plan to, You wouldn't understand how boring computer games are if opening their files presents you with all the exploits and flaws right on the nose."

Sighing a little, the pixie cut woman shrugs as she finally looks over to the King. "The Ph.D. T'Challa, King of Wakanda, Black Panther, Chosen of Bast, ain't cutting red tape for anyone it seems. Though your armband's traffic is heavily encrypted, the protocol is music on the skin."
