Titans Tower: September Meal
Date of Scene: 24 September 2021
Location: Main Room - Titan's Tower
Synopsis: Caitlin feeds the Titans, and she gets a nervous breakdown for her troubles (Good Job, Terry)
Cast of Characters: Caitlin Fairchild, Terry O'Neil, Kara Danvers, Kaida Connolly, Donna Troy, Bart Allen, Irie West, Pol Hevonen

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
The so-called 'one pot chasseur' is a meal that takes on some new scale with the Titans. The sheer scope of feeding the Titans means that you don't RSVP to one of Caitlin's meals if you don't intend to show, and you *definitely* don't show up with Wally's appetite without having informed Caitlin ahead of time.

The 'dinner bell' alert goes out to everyone around 4PM, and by 6, it's about time to set the table.

Caitlin's not quite in full June Cleaver mode (that was an awkward phase) but she's definitely in her happy place in the kitchen, humming pleasantly to herself while getting the last of the food ready, and she starts pulling steaming ceramic pots out of the oven bare-handed. Pre-warmed bowls are set out and ladled with broth, a third of a chicken, and fresh-cut bread that's been baking most of the morning.

"Foods on," she sings, and reaches over to flick a fingernail against a literal triangle. The house VI repeats the signal to all the dorm rooms and labs, letting the Titans in the tower know that dinner's on!

Terry O'Neil has posed:
A Rabbit Hole opens up to reveal the Cheshire Cat. "Caitlin, did I just hear you made din-din, or was it a visitation from the angels themselves?" he says. He is carrying a fanny pack, of all things, in both hands, held away from him as if afraid of its contents.

"I've been trying to catch you anyways. I have things for you. Things of great importance--- though not as significant as the deliciousness you have prepared, I wager." He grins and goes for the hug, before the hungry masses yearning to eat free arrive.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Leave it to the cat to appear when the can opener's going," comes Kara's voice as she floats down the hallway. She had been in the training room earlier and was actually famished. Not Wally/Bart/Irie famished, but still hungry. "Thanks for cooking, Caitlin," she says as she settles down to the dinner table. Part of her wished she had the proper ingredients and equipment to share Kryptonian food with her freinds. But that would mean less of the yummy Earth food.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
And then there was Kaida. She heard the sound of the dinner bell before it was even relayed. Those big ears can catch sound. She zips in and spins to a stop with a skid and a grin. She rushes forward and smiles at Caitlin.

"What's you make? It smells really good!" She casually runs up a wall to hang off it and peer over at the food from on high.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna is late. Donna is not there to help Caitlin with the last phase of the Titans-feeding operation. Not there to shuffle plates and food around with that almost military precision she and Caitlin so often manage, that elaborate kitchen dance that's part Amazon training and part years of Titaning together. Caitlin must perform the ritual alone, or rely on Terry's Rabbit Holes to send dishes around the kitchen, or Kara's super-speed table-laying. It's probably not a great hardship.

Donna's late because she has been out all day. She arrives back at Titans Tower just shortly after the dinner bell goes, riding one of the Titan's bikes back from Manhattan where she has been working at the Themysciran arts center today. She might have been alerted to the fact that the dinner bell was due to go off had she been checking her T-Com, but she has been distracted.

Thus when Donna arrives at the Main Room at five past, she's slightly surprised to find food on the table, but her surprise rapidly turns into a smile of pleasure. This is Caitlin's cooking, after all. Caitlin's a really good cook.

"Smells great, Cait!", Donna announces, striding over to the table with a spring in her step. "Hey everyone! Hope you left enough for me."

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
"I don't know if there's enough for latecomers," Caitlin tells Donna with a regal sniff. "/Some/ people were thoughtful enough to text me their dinner plans."

"Tonight, we're having chicken chasseur," she tells the others, and helps Kaida with a relatively accessible bowl. It's still a lot of food for a mouse. "And homemade garlic bread."

"Oh, and dessert, but it's not done chilling," she adds, and puts a bowl of food in Donna's hands after the others have taken their first plate.

Who is Caitlin kidding-- there's *always* extra food made, and it never goes to waste.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry smirks at Kara, "I have better manners than that. I just wanted to make sure Cait got what I had for her... Caitlin." He slides over to her and offers her the fanny pack. "Please look inside. This is something I've been saving up for you for /weeks/ now..."

The cat grins at the others, "Kaida! Donna! Guess what? I've got a second job now!" He says tat like it's a good thing.

Kara Danvers has posed:
When Cait mentions desert is chilling, Kara zips to the refrigerator, seeming to telport there. She opens up the door and finds the delectable treat cooling within, under a piece of cling wrap to keep it fresh. Keeping the secret treat a secret, Kara lightly blows on it a few seconds, then replacing it and shutting the door. And just as suddenly, she's back in her chair. "Desert's cool," she reports to the mistress of the kitchen.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A grin and she doesn't ruin the surprise and instead races to her bowl that is set out, almost immediately tearing off a piece of bread and dipping it. She smiles as she noms and sits by her bowl with a smile.

"Thanks, Cait!"

Donna Troy has posed:
Caitlin's not kidding Donna, that's for sure. She knows far too well how much Caitlin generally makes when she's cooking. Wally, Gar and Vic in particular have Caitlin well trained -- when you're cooking for the Titans, you make big portions - for three times the number of people you're expecting to show up. Caitlin's regal sniff get a very adult tongue stuck out at her by way of Donna's reply, but it's quickly replaced by a broad grin when food is placed in her hands.

Donna carries hers over to the table, smelling the steam rising from the dish with an expression of pleasure. "Mmmm. Thanks Cait, smells fantastic. And sorry... I kinda wanted a day off, wasn't checking my T-Com. Had stuff to do. Things to think about."

She takes her place at the table next to Kara, who gets a friendly hip-bump as Donna sits. Kara's strong enough to avoid her food being spilled. "Really Kara. Did nobody ever tell you never to interfere with a cook's work? Especially when that cook is Cait. Very few people know this, but back in the early days of the Titans, we had another member briefly. Guy called The Trembler. Dumb name. Dumb guy, too. He'd show up when Cait was cooking and whip things off the heat, declaring them ready. One day when the dinner bell went off, we came into the main room for Cait's meal, there was a person-sized hole in one wall, and we've never seen him since."

She says it with such /sincerity/.

Donna flashes Kaida a wink and takes a taste of the chicken. "Mmm. Tastes as good as it smells. Maybe even better. Thanks Cait. Terry, don't you already have two jobs?"

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
"Kara, wait, you--" ZOOM

"-dessert is for--" Caitlin sighs. Kara's already come and gone and gone right for the fudge torte. Oh well. The redhead removes her apron (which once said +12 Grillmaster, though the print's largely faded over the years) and hangs it by the fridge.

"Dessert's for people who finish dinner," Caitlin says with the obstreperous tone of someone hanging onto an axiom for its own sake. She gets herself a bowl, last, and fills it up with about twice of what anyone else has in front of them. Caitlin's caloric needs aren't much different than Wally's; ten thousand calories a day, on the *off* days. There's a reason there are always gallons of Snacky Shake(tm) on tap in the kitchen.

The gift from Terry's brought with her and at the table, she finally takes a few seconds to examine it. "You ... got me a fanny pack?" Caitlin gives Terry a confused look that lasts for a half second before she grins at him. "Oh, it's /inside/ the fanny pack," she says, and unzips it to produce... a pen.

"Oh thanks, Terry!" she tells him. "I'm always losing these. I found four in my hair the other day at the lab," she says, and beams a smile of gratitude.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Donna, Being a Journalist Titan is my /first/ job. As of yesterday, I am now a copy writer at Starr Industries for their tech products! I'll actually be able to afford things now!"

He starts on the chicken, and grins "Oh... tres beaux, le poule chasseur. C'est merveilleux, c'est..." he makes a gesture in the air, and leaves it at that. Glancing at his fellow Titans, he then looks at Caitlin. "Cait, that's not just /any/ pen. Go ahead and try to write in the air with it. No, really, go ahead. Then I'll tell you where it comes from," he says, beginning to chow down, looking like the cat who ate the canary-- and rather glad Kian is having chocolates back at the apartment, otherwise he'd faint.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara looks a bit distressed at Caitlin's distress. "I didn't touch it," she protests. "I just helped with the cooling process, that's all..." She smiles a bit, trying to stay positive. She does pout a bit at the news fro Terry, though. "I'm glad you got a better job, Terry. Although I was kind of looking forward to working with you at the Planet. But, if you're happy with the new job, I'm happy for you." And she starts to eat the stewed chicken and veggies in her bowl.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A wider smile and Kaida pumps a small fist up into the air, "Awesome, Terry! I'll eat to that!" She nods her head and dips more bread before chowing down on it. She then suddenly leaps up and points to Donna with a smile.

"Hey! When can I go back to Themyscira and train some more with the Amazons there? I really enjoyed my time there." She nods her head and casually grabs up a spoon as big as she is and scoops up food to slurp at it more directly.

Donna Troy has posed:
"Journalist and Titan are two jobs, Terry," Donna says. "Two different things. You can't just smoosh two job titles together and call it one job. Like I'm the Ambassador Titan? Doesn't work like that. Two different things, two different jobs. Otherwise you could claim you still only have a single job still, as a Journalist Copywriter Titan."

"As for you, Kara, you should be glad of the opportunities at the Planet that will come from Terry being around less. You'll be able to step out of his shadow. I remember when he dragged you to the Themysciran embassy that time when he arranged to do an interview with me. He had you hauling equipment around like some lackey! I was outraged. Nearly refused to answer any of his questions."

Donna stops talking to attack her food, but finds herself unable to get very far, because Kaida's question has reminded her of something. "Oh! Kaida, we'll definitely get you back there before too long. But that reminds me. You busy tomorrow? Apparently there's a package at the Embassy arrived today. Has your name on it."

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Caitlin blinks at the odd request, but... well, it's not even the weirdest thing she's been asked to do this *month*. The pen's uncapped and she waves it through the air, leaving behind a clear swathe of black ink.

Caitlin blinks. "...Woah. That's... is that a hologram?" She looks at the pen, waves a hand in front of it; when nothing happens, she swings her palm through the air. It gathers a neat band of black ink over her hand.

"That's... incredible. Gravity-defying-ink," she muses. "How the heck does this even-- wait, Terry, how did you /get/ this?" she inquires of him, brows aloft.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Who says I'm leaving the Planet, Kara? Oh no, I could never- I'm just pulling double duty. Since all of my material comes out of the time when I'm acting as a Titan, I'm just switching schedules. Copywriting in the mornings, and then crime fighting slash reporting at night. And then I sleep. I mean, no offense, but even if I get made a full staff member, I won't get paid much. If it weren't for Gar sharing the rent with me, I wouldn't be able to afford a place to live."

The secret is, of course, that technically speaking he can cheat. He has two bodies, and time stops for whatever body he isn't using. Pulling long shifts is possible- even if juggling the sleep schedules might get tricky. "And Donna, that is an outright mischaracterization- she insisted in coming so she could see the Embassy... I mean. I thought that's what she did, because at the time I didn't know she was..."

He stares at Kara and raises an eyebrow. "Oh my god, you totally punked me, didn't you?"

Even with that realization that he was massively pranked by Kara, there is still time to joke. "Did you hear that, Kaida? You got a package at the Embassy- and they shipped it via Amazon Prime!" and to avoid getting walloped by Donna, he turns to Caitlin to deliver the piece de resistance.

"You are holding the pen of the Archangel Suriel, whom I had the distinct pleasure to meet when a portal to the celestial dimensions was opened by a certain wizard. She used that pen during the... briefing, I guess? It was about prevending the end of the world- mission accomplished but anyways-I asked her for a gift for you." He takes a sip of his drink, and grins. "And after she left, I found the pen in my satchel with a little bow. I also touched it by accident and was drunk for, like, eight hours. So it's the real, celestial deal."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen comes over to check on his friends. He has made a stop along the way to pick up a few things. So along with his current costume he is wearing a backpack, and carrying canvas bag with him, that makes a soft clanking noise as he comes to a stop. He looks around the room. "Hey guys what's up?" He asks and waves a bit goofily.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara stops mid-bite and looks confused at Terry. "Punked? No...how would I be punking you? I legit thought you were leaving the Planet for a new job. I mean...I'm happy you're not, but I'm also happy you're getting a better job. So...I guess...are you sure you can handle workgin two jobs at the same time?"

She goes back to eating her food, smiling. "Really great, Caitlin," she compliments the chef. And then the speedsters show up, and Kara starts eating her food faster. Because when the speedsters are around, the food goes *fast*

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Yeah!" Kaida responds to Donna and then blinks at the ink int he air, "Is that a other dimensional pen?" She asks and looks to Terry before looking back to what Caitlin has done before looking back to Terry.

She sits down then to watch while eating and bounces just a tad. She then rolls her eyes at Terry and shakes her head.

"I am hoping it is what I think it is." She grins and seems to be vibrating just a bit as she eats.

Irie West has posed:
There's a flash of yellow and red with arcs of speed force lightning and suddenly Irie is there with a plate loaded with food. "Hi guys!" she says, her mouth already full of chicken. "What's up?"

Donna Troy has posed:
"Pretty sure it is Kaida! Catch me tomorrow and we'll go find out, huh?" Donna says this while watching Caitlin's performance with the pen curiously. When Terry explains what the pen is, she looks surprised. "Huh. I was about to go with lighter-than-air microparticles self-adhering through an electrostatic charge generated by the pen tip, but it's just magic. I think I've been spending too much time in America." Her eyes narrow slightly, as she considers Caitlin's possible reactions to this news, but she decides not to try to anticipate.

"He meant punking him with the Embassy visit, Kara," Donna says. "Pretending you wanted to take the opportunity to visit the embassy. He didn't know you'd been at a reception there only a couple of weeks previously. After all, that was Supergirl, not the new Swedish intern at the Planet."

The arrival of the two speedsters gets a big smile of greeting from Donna. "Hey you two! Chicken's up. Caitlin's chicken. The best kind! How have you two been? No more time traveling I hope?" She reaches a hand out to give Irie's hair a light scruffing. "There's dessert too. You have to wait until the rest have finished eating before we get to it though, we want some too. You'll just have to content youselves with seconds, thirds, and fourths of chicken for now."

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
All of Caitlin's fingers turn into proverbial thumbs and the pen hits the table with a clatter. At least it avoids the soup. Caitlin's palms rest on the table and she gives the innocuous looking device an expression that could best be described as 'wary awe', eyes wide with alarm.

"That's-- it's a-- an archangel? An actual archangel, /gave/ you this pen-- for me?" Her left hand twitches a little towards the pen in an aborted motion, as if unsure whether she should even be allowed to hold the thing, deaf to the reactions and commentary of the others nearby.

Pol Hevonen has posed:
Someone mentioned food?

Pol's actually come by the Tower because he wanted to use their obnoxiously advanced gymnasium, but also to see Irie and maybe Kaida if she's around. Oh and Terry. So he's humaniform for now, and he comes off the elevator following the scent of potluck, a thing every Michigander, even a yooper, knows by instinct. But the room is full of Impressive People, so the giant guy stops, awkwardly.

"Uhm. Hm. I shoulda brought hot dish, I knew it."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will look over and sets the bag and backpack down, before moving to get his own plate of food. He comes back in looking about the area. "So whats been going on?" He asks the group as he watches the pen being dropped, and hearing Pol's words, his own plate is set down and he comes back out rubbing his hand on the bottom of a plate letting friction heat it up "Here ya go, didn't want to get it to hot, but if it helps." He offers the plate to Pol, and adds "Oh Hello I'm Impulse, and you?

Irie West has posed:
Irie does the >.< face when her hair is scuffled. "Nope. Still in this timeline. Haven't broke anything yet!" Pol gets a tilt of the head when he enters. She knows him from somewhere but she just can't quite place it. Slowly she holds up a hand so she no longer sees the bottom half of him and then it dawns on her. "Pol! Centaur guy! You're no longer a centaur!" She actually sounds rather disappointed in this. "I guess that makes getting into elevators easier, though."

Suddenly she's beside Caitlin, looking at the pen. "Hey, Cait. Neat pen. Archangel gave it to you? Cool. So what's it do?"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"At this moment," Terry answers Irie, "It seems to be breaking her. Oh god Donna she's in shock... get her some water. Fan her a bit. If she faints we'll never get her off the floor..." the Cheshire cat stands up to hug Irie and Bart in welcome, and then to drag Pol over to the food. "Quick, grab some food before the Hunger Twins decimate it all. We're lucky Gar is still over on the West Coast or you'd have come back to bones. If that."

He peers at Caitlin, and then at Donna and Kara. "... I should have asked for a hallmark card instead, shouldn't I?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Ah, got it," Kara says when Donna reminds her. She turns back and smiles at Terry."Of course, I knew that was what you meant all along. But you didn't know that I knew what you meant. So....PUNK'D" And Kara grins. Just. As. Planned.

When the speedsters race in, Kara gives them a wave. "Hey, guys. How you doing?" She distinctly doe not mention the precious fudge torte in the refrigerator to them...

When the large man enters the main room, Kara smiles and gives him a wave. "Hi! Are you a new Titan? I'm Supergirl. But you can just call me Kara. Everyone else does."

Pol Hevonen has posed:
Male child looks like Rule 63 Irie. Huh. PLATE IS HOT. yow.

"I'm also called Myth. Not mything link though. That's a videogame elf. Hot dish is a recipe," Pol says, and grins at Irie. "Let me have a quick snack and I'll turn ... ack wait," and is dragged to food. Amazingly that tiny part-time cat guy can drag a nearly 7 foot wall, but that's how it works.

"I'm provisional? Uhm, I'm Pol, or Saj if I happen to be half horse."

Pol realizes that that probably IS an actual Amazon, and Caitlin is familiar... Every time he comes here he meets another impossible person.

Donna Troy has posed:
"It's funny, I'd kind of expect an archangel to have a feather quill pen," Donna says. "But I guess even archangels have to move with the times." She flashes Caitlin a sympathetic smile. "Look at it this way, Cait. If an archangel gives you his spare pen, that's probably the Big Guy's way of letting you know he isn't mad with you for consorting with Athena. They still like you up there. All good."

Donna can't help but grin at the face Irie makes, but her attention is on the newcomer. "No need to bring a dish," She tells Pol. "Caitlin is a superb cook, and always makes more than gets eaten. When we have three speedsters on the team, that means she cooks a lot. Grab yourself some and make yourself at home. Terry has told us a bit about you, but maybe you want to say some more? I guess you already know Irie, so... the mouse is Kaida, the spaced-out redhead is Caitlin, and I'm Donna. Or Troia. Take your pick. I think that's everyone?"

"All kinds of things," Donna tells Bart. "As usual. World-ending catastrophes, battling the forces of evil, that sort of stuff. Some of us got sent to Hell, but we escaped."

Irie West has posed:
"Yeah," She tells Donna. "I heard about that. I wish I was there to help. I coulda gone ZIP! BOOM! BAM!" (she punctuates this by zipping across the living room a couple of times) "and y'all would have been home in no time."

"Oh!" she says, looking at her plate disappointed. All the food is gone. "I got to go into space! A friend of mine at school lives on an asteroid and he took us there to show off," she says, going into the kitchen for round two. Then she winces and says, "Aaaaaand I'm not supposed to tell anybody so forget I said that."

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Caitlin looks up with an fond and exasperated smile for Terry and Donna, and picks up the pen before anyone decides it needs more examination. "Gosh. I ... I don't know what to say, Terry," she says, and her voice is numb enough to mean it.

"I'm ..." she gets to her feet, awkwardly, eyes fixed on the innocuous looking object. "This is-- this is too much," she tells Terry, and carefully curls the pen close. "But thank you. It's ... wow. Just ... wow," she says, and for lack of more intelligible words, excuses herself quietly to head towards the dorms with her eyes firmly fixed on the pen in her hands.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Forget what? I heard nothing," Terry says to Irie, but then watches Caitlin excuse herself to the badroom forgetting to serve dessert. That's a first for Caitlin. Glancing over at his friends, he says "... did I screw up again? Are we going to have to send for a father confessor to get her out of the bedroom? I swear I thought it'd be something she'd like..."

He realizes he needs to fill Pol in. "A wizard called an archangel for a meet-up at a pub I frequent. Cait is, like, super Catholic, so I asked for a nice souvenir from Suriel for Cait. I think it might have overwhelmed her a little..."

He gets himself some water, "... maybe it wasn't a good idea for the Gayest Of Them All among the Titans to ask things from Archangels?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hugs Terry back, and looks to Donna, and says "Oh I brought some treats for any pets anyone has, we were learning about dietary needs for different animals in class, and I may have went a bit overboard, on making and experimenting with them. Speaking of which I need to talk to Kori about Silkie, I think might be neat to learn about him..her... I am not sure which silkie is." He then looks over towards Irie and a brow raises "Going off into space with guys? Do I need to come to the school and meet this guy?" She might be his cousin but he tries to watch out for her.

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"You didn't say who it was, you're still safe," Pol says to Irie, finishing his snack. Not a speedster, eats that fast just from mechanical advantage.

"Good to meet you, Donna. I met Caitlin once before -- we were making food at each other... Wait is Terry buring the lede here? Archangels? Not the X-Man?"

Pol sits down. Or more likely does that Japanese kneeling thing because most likely the chairs here are too short and it's easier.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara knows some of the basics of earth's religions, but isn't exactly sure on all the secific details. Still, she can emphasize with Caitlin. "Just a bit, maybe," she says to Terry. "I mean, I know I'd probably have the same reaction if one of you managed to give me an artifact from Rao. And Kryptonians stopped seriously believing our star was a God milennia ago." She doesgive him an encouraging smile. "I'm sure it's just the shock. She'll apprecate it later."

When Bart starts talking about pet treats, Kara's eyes light up; but not in a destructive way. "Oh! Streaky loves salmon jerky. I can't keep it in stock at home for him."

Irie West has posed:
"Yeah. That'd do it," Irie says to Terry. "I'm not really religious. I mean.... there's too many gods to choose from."

She shakes her head at Bart. "It's nothing like that. He's just a friend that hangs out with me and Maddie. I don't even know if he likes girls or not. Oh! You should totally take me to the zoo so I can feed the cheetahs.!"

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna gives Irie a brief side-eye -- like Bart, she is contemplating whether she needs to have /words/ with one of Irie's classmates, but decides to let it pass with a smile. "My lips are zipped," she assures Irie. "But honestly I'm glad you weren't there in Hades. Not that your help wouldn't have been welcome, but it's not a great place for a vacation. Getting out was tough on people. Particularly climbing the staircase at the end. I'm glad you didn't have to go through that with us, Irie."

She nods in agreement with Kara. "I mean... my sister owns a lasso that kind of sort of used to belong to an actual goddess, but she has had time to get used to it. Give Cait a little time, she'll need to think about it. But you didn't screw up, Terry. It was a thoughtful gift."

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"My friends all went to Hades and I didn't even get a tee shirt," Pol drawls. Not that he expects there to be a tee-shirt-porium at the exit from the Alepotrypa cave. But the remark is inescapable.

"Wait, you gave a good Catholic girl a quill from an actual Archangel? You know she can't write poison-pen letters with that, right?"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"I know that lasso. I touched it and I tripped balls for hours-" Terry stops and his eyes widen. "Wait. Wait. Maybe that's what happens to Cait when she touches holy stuff too? She's all oooooh and Aaaaaaaah- so she's like me, except that instead of getting drunk she gets..." he pauses. "Nunny? No, that's not the right word. Help me out here, guys..." he glances around the room.

And glances at Irie. "I know how you can find out if a friend likes you! You just hang awkwardly around him for, like, five months, constantly misunderstand each other, talk at cross purposes at each other, then you get him accidentally injured so he has to move into your apartment for a few weeks, have a few heart-to-hearts, then you save his life when he's about to be killed by a mechanical spider- and then, wham, romance!"

He pauses and seems to think about it for a few seconds. "On the other hand, that might apply only to very specific situations..."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will go over to his bag and pulls out a small tupperware container and offers it to Kara "I take it streaky is a cat?" He offers her the treats "Take these, and I will look into making some salmon flavored one special for you." He smiles and makes a mental note for future reference, and then to Terry, he will says "Oh so thats where I have been messing up, good to know."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara has the last bit of her chicken halfway to her mouth, when she remembers....

"STREAKY!!! I forgot to feed him before I came here. Oh, poor guy....and the apartment's going to be trashed. Gottagobye!"

And Kara flies ff quickly with awoosh of air and an after image of red & blue...

Irie West has posed:
Irie puts down her plate of food specifically so she can fold her arms and glare at Terry. "Just because you and Gar had a weird courtship it doesn't mean that /I/ have to. Besides! Why does everybody think I have a thing for this guy! I don't! He's /just a friend/," she huffs. "We hang out at Maddie's place and paint minis and watch movies and play board games and /before you can say it/ no, I don't have a thing for Maddie either." With that settled she picks up her plate and resumes devouring food.

Donna Troy has posed:
"You tell 'em Irie," Donna says with a smirk aimed at Terry. "To be honest I suspect Terry's trying to say that even he knows that you shouldn't ask him for dating advice. Definitely don't follow his method though, when you /do/ meet someone you have a thing for. They'd got through most of it by the time I rejoined the team, but I have heard things. Too many things.

Donna calmly puts out her hand to catch Kara's plate, just before it gets caught up in Kara's slipstream and be hurled across the room. It still contains some chicken. "Bye SG," she says, smirking slightly to herself - Kara is already gone when she says it.

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"Aro solidarity forever," Pol says, offering a fist-bump to Irie. Because reasons. Side-musing from Cas: <Why is the current aromantic spectrum flag so obsessed with green? Green Arrow isn't known for that at all.>

"Also what is a Streaky? Sounds ominous for a pet. Kara's kind of flighty huh?"

<That is TERRIBLE I hate you Pol.>

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Just because it took the concentrated efforts of Colette, Lois Lane and Harley Quinn to get us to admit our feelings for each other, it doesn't mean it was a /bad/ method. I mean, I still do have that diamond-encrusted speedo that I can sell to go to college if I really need to. As long as I can convince Harley it was for a good cause."

And he sips his drink then, not explaining any more than that. "But Impulse, that only works with guys. To date a woman, you have to do the exact opposite. Except when you don't have to." This, incidentally, happens to be the name of a well-known advice column in Wonderland.

Pol's pun, however, causes him to slowly glance at the towering teen. "Pol... reminds me to never let you near Gar. The two of you might cause Robin to break out into a rash from all the punishment and we'd have an angry bird on our hands."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "Have not had a lot of luck with my own tatics, but oh well." He looks over to Irie and says "I am sorry if I assumed, your friend was your boyfriend, had John Constantine assume that about a friend of mine and ticked me off, so seriously am sorry." He gets himself another plate of food and finds a seat listening for now.

Irie West has posed:
"Diamond... encrusted... speedo?" Irie asks. Her minds eye turns to what Terry would look like in such a thing and she sputters out laughter, "Ppppffffttt ahahahahaha!"

When she manages to finally control herself she turns to Pol. "No, I'm not aro, I don't think. I dunno. Maybe. I liked looking at Nightwing's butt, but I think everybody does, so I dunno. Anyway. I'm only 5."

She grins at Bart and chucks him on the shoulder. "It's okay, Cuz. I know you're just watching out for me."

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"Nightwing has the Platonic Ideal Ass. It is objectively attractive. Also, how are you only five in any realistic sense? You're a time warp."

That could come off as harsh except for the utterly gentle tone of voice. He looks carefully at Donna.

<Yes, she's an actual Amazon, but I can't tell what all that means. We need a better divinatory pattern, this one's broken,> Cas complains where other people probably can't hear him.

Donna Troy has posed:
"She's a speedster, Pol," Donna responds, while mopping her plate clean with some of Caitlin's freshly-baked bread. "Speedsters have a curious relationship with time. It's best not to try to figure it out or question it, you'll only give yourself a headache that way."

After eating the casserole-soaked bread, Donna gets to her feet, taking her plate to the sink. "Bart, don't listen to Terry. His tactics are bound to be worse. I mean when he just said to date a woman do the exact opposite, as if he would know. But take it from me, no woman is going to be impressed if you save the mechanical spider's life instead."

Donna opens the fridge and pulls out the fudge torte Caitlin had prepared earlier, dishing up a portion for Caitlin and setting it aside before anyone else can finish off the dish. "Who's for dessert?" she asks.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Pfff. Don't mind me, I'm just reminiscing. And I miss my green guy. We just turned a year together and he had to go and take care of stuff for that anti-social grouch of his adoptive dad. Bleh." Terry smirks and takes a bite out of his bread. "But I'm going to agree with Pol. You can't just /not/ look at Nightwing's butt. It's like the Mona Lisa's eyes- it follows you around the room no matter where you go..." he grins, "It must be an acrobat thing. I've started taking acrobatics lessons with someone fron Xavier's who can teleport- and he's got The Butt too. It must be some sort of trade secret."

His ears perk, "Oooh, I'm up for dessert! But... we should save some for Caitlin. Once she is done with being shocked."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over to Irie, and says "And I am 9." He tells her as if the 5 means much to him." He nods a bit to Donna, and says "Well, I need to find someone to save or not save. But thats not here or there. " He looks over to Terry, and says "Oh, wanted to ask you something. When your in cat form, do you know if your body acts more like animal or human?" He does get in line for dessert.

Irie West has posed:
"Well." Irie says in the kind of tone that's reserved for teachers educating their students. "Since I was born in the Speed Force, (don't ask. It's a complicated story and it contains major spoilers for, like, /everybody/) my body has these little, I dunno what you'd call them. Age hiccoughs, where my body and brain just kind of age up. It's happened a couple of times, so even though I have a body of a ... seventeen year old I think? Somewhere around there. I've only been alive for five years. Also, I was born in 2036, so depending on how you count, I'm either 17, -15, or 5."

But then all talk of Speed Force shenanigans gets immediately dropped because, "DESSERT! YES PLEASE!"

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"Which somehow manages to more than offset the very short amount of actual lived-time due to the massive time dilation you should be experiencing because you're moving too close to lightspeed," Pol says. "Both of you. Breaking physics like a destruction worker."

He adds whipped cream to his dessert even if it's not already available. It needs to be a thing.

Donna Troy has posed:
"Already done, Terry. I know you hungry reprobates, of course I've set some aside for Caitlin," Donna says as she starts portioning out the torte. "I mean to be honest I did wonder if you gave her that pen at the table in the hopes she'd be too shocked for dessert and would leave more for you, but I'll give you credit for remembering she gets some too."

Donna hands out dessert to everyone, providing double portions to Bart and Irie. "I'd say you're seventeen, or approximately, Irie. It's just that those seventeen years too less than seventeen years to happen. You got to dodge some of the more awkward bits of puberty and you could see that as a bonus. I'm not entirely sure that Wally agrees with my assessment, but it seems to me that you're short on experience rather than being short on maturity for a seventeen year old. Wally worries too much, though I guess in the circumstances I can't really blame him. I have no idea how I'd react if I was in his place."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terru blinks at the question, and glances at Bart. "Well... yes, I do perceive some things very differently depending on what body I'm in. And my reactions are sharper when I'm like this," he gestures to his feline self, "and before you ask, I do not have a fright response to cucumbers."

And then he glances at Donna, his Impending Sass Meter going off. "Not. a. word. out of you, Donna!" He gets dessert, so all is good.

"Pol if you think /they/ break physics, remind me sometime to tell you about what I can do with the Rabbit Hole."

Pol Hevonen has posed:
Chocolate overrides all this discussion of Wally (whoever he is) because Pol has to give Cas the chance to take over so he can also get dessert. Then of course they have to see whether it's equally good for Saj -- which means the tall human transforms in a slight flare of moving constellation lighting to a centaur. Who strangely enough, can take or leave chocolate. Weirdo.

"Well, yeah, chocolate isn't as tasty in this form," Saj says.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods a bit to this and says "Was not thinking about the cucumbers, but was more thinking about needs of human and animals hybrids. I mean, Gar is either in human or animal, butt you are sorta a mix, and he nods to Pol "Our new friend seems to be as well, so I thought to see if what I am learning in school can help me help my friends.

Irie West has posed:
"I've gone faster than the speed of light once," Irie says casually,  as if that just a thing you /do/. "Got me stuck in the Speed Force, which is totally a thing that can happen if you're not careful. When I finally got out I was in the past."

She gratefully takes her plate and nods along with Donna. "That's kinda how I see it, too. There were a couple of ... um ... surprises that I was totally unprepared for when I got this body, but fortunately mom was able to have that talk with me before I ricocheted back into the past."

The mention of Wally draws a sigh out of the girl. "I've been calling Wally in this time Wally, instead of dad. Every time he tries to be all dad like I get a little sad for him. He didn't ask for this, and it's unfair to expect him to fill those shoes. I don't wanna cut him off or anything, but I wanna let him live his life instead of trying to take care of me."

Pol Hevonen has posed:
"I'm actually even stranger than you think. I have a nutritional dependency on alcohol in this form, just because it makes the calories in grains more accessible."

There. Rule 63 Irie now has things to think about. Saj grins and washes down the stuff that he found adequate with some of that really NICE tasting coffee.

(Note: it's not THAT good, if he isn't being a half-horse.)

Donna Troy has posed:
"You don't want me to tell people that Gar has indeed confirmed the thing about the fright response, Terry?" Donna asks, wearing such an innocent expression. "Though put a cardboard box on the floor and watch Vorpal go," she says to Bart. "We tried the thing with making a square of tape of the floor, but he didn't seem interested. Maybe squares are too ordered. He is a chaos cat, after all."

Donna remains entirely calm when Pol becomes Saj, despite the whole thing of recently being at war with an army of centaurs. She has been forewarned. She doesn't start hacking. Instead she rests a hand on Irie's shoulder and gives her a gentle squeeze.

"It's very brave of you Irie. And kind. And one of the reasons why I am certain that you really are a young adult, not a little kid. But he's still family, even if he's not really ready to be your dad. We're all family, and we'll look after each other, okay?"

Donna picks up her bowl and the spare she'd prepared for Caitlin. "Okay, I'm going to go give Cait her dessert and check up on her," she says as she makes her way towards the dorms. "If aliens invade, Terry's in charge of saving the planet while I'm gone. If they don't invade, he's in charge of cleaning up and doing the dishes."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Polishing off the last of his dessert, Terry stands up. "Alright, then. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the monitor room trying to get through to the Shi'Ar flotilla to convince them to have another go-again." He grins. But actually starts gathering dishes to get them cleaned.

He is going to use chaos magic to clean them, because The Sorcerer's Apprentice is /not/ a cautionary tale at all. No siree.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods a bit and says "Interesting I knew alien animal types can be different, but magical ones as well." He hmms and says "Might have to work on that maybe make a paper out of it for school." He finishes his food, and looks over to Irie, and says "You know you need me I am here for ya cousin, remember your not going into totally uncharted territory just mostly uncharted." He offers her a grin "Not that any of our family would run into anything before charting it out." He will offer to help with the dishes.

Irie West has posed:
Irie, having finished her double helping of desert walks over to Bart and gives him a hug. "Yeah, I know. I lost my family to the future and I picked up a whole new one here. I still love Wally even if he isn't my dad yet. C'mon. I'll race you to see who can do the dishes the fastest. If we leave it to Terry the kitchen will be covered in sparkles by the time he's done."
