Picking up the pieces after N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
Date of Scene: 04 January 2022
Location: Level 4 - Recreation - The Roost
Synopsis: In the aftermath of the attack on the Roost by N.O.W.H.E.R.E., the remaining team has to reckon with the absence of Red Robin, Superboy, Balm, and X-23 while also protecting the Outsiders from potential discovery. Thankfully, with a little bit of adult supervision (and medical aid) by the Archivist and a surprise special appearance by Karen Starr, Honey Badger secures the Roost with the help of Impulse and Miss Martian. Injured and unconscious Bluebird and Pixie are both evacuated. NOTE: This scene is forward-dated to some point in the future to avoid scene-lock. Date of Scene will be updated at the conclusion of the arc! (This scene is still technically pending a future timing!)
Cast of Characters: Conner Kent, Megan Gwynn, Gabby Kinney, M'gann M'orzz, Harper Row, Jonathan Sims, Karen Starr, Tim Drake, Bart Allen

Conner Kent has posed:
Those with Outsider communicators or in certain lists (which of course include the Hall of Justice) would have received the alarm signal from the Outsider's den, the Roost in Gotham. Not many heroes have the address to the Roost besides Superman and Batman, but there are emergencies measures, and as the alert level rises in severity, the messages get to more heroes and hero groups.

Gabby actually was nearby, a few minutes motorcycle ride from the building, but that is a few minutes too late. The whole battle was barely two minutes long.

The fight was loud enough someone has called the cops, probably because a number of the residential level windows got shattered. And... can the fire be seen from outside? Maybe not, but although the sprinklers are top notch Wayne Tech, they are not Kryptonian/Speed Force proof.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn had ported to another room in the Roost, where she searched for other members who might be able to help. It took a while but eventually she heard the villains leaving and rather hesitantly returned to the scene of the crime to see if there were any survivors of the aftermath.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Ten minutes. That's how far away the GPS had said she was from her destination: Ten minutes. Gabby had been out on 'patrol' if one were to call it that. Gotham as a whole was Batman's area, but it didn't hurt for her to be out just familiarizing herself with the lay of the land. So while she wasn't on duty in an capacity, she was at least awake, aware, and increasingly worried as she finds herself racing back to the Roost. Cutting over a few sidewalks with the all-terrain motorcycle, she finally turns a corner with one leg swung out to pivot the cycle quicker. The Roost was in sight. And not in the best of shape from what she saw, either. Was Ten minutes too long? It seemed so as there was no sign of the assailants anywhere outside. The bike skids to a halt and she barely waits for it to come to a full stop before she's launched herself off of it in a run heading right inside not even bothering to yet take her helmet off. It's inside where the true damage starts to become known as well as the smoke and damp of the fire systems activated.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
It is perhaps a case of some of the worst timing ever. M'gann didn't get the alarm, not at first. She was too instilling a healthy fear of the Martian species into an A.I.M. creation that had been uplifted beyond anyone's control using physics theories that might as well have been magic.

It is only when she begins coming down from the intense surge of dark emotions that the sounds and buzzing vibrations of the Outsiders communicator at her side actually manage to register.

Not bothering with the device, her first instinct is to reach out with her telepathy trying to reach her friends. No Tim. No Conner. No Laura. No Phoebe. The Martian girl's eyes go wide, this is a completely different fear than she was battling just minutes ago. Fire can't hold a candle to the thought some of her closest friends might well be dead.

Telekinetic energy nigh crackles in the air around her and her eyes flare with a bright crimson glow once more as she bursts upward into the sky, where the Bioship is waiting.

<<Get us there! NOW!>> She orders the ship, the image of the Roost clear in her mind, as the ship surges forth at hypersonic glass shattering speeds.

During the flight she finally remembers her Outsiders Comm, <<Team check in! Who is at the Roost?! What's going on?!>>

Harper Row has posed:
In the chaotic remains of the combat scene within the recreation room is a pile of collapsed drywall and ceiling material Bluebird's boots can be seen to be sticking out from blow the rubble. Sharp ears might hear her groaning. A telepathic scan would find her to be in pain -- injured but not gravely so as the collapse was more dramatic than damaging to her... more bark than bite so to speak.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
It's pure luck that Jon was in Gotham today, visiting his old haunts with his husband. The moment her receives the Outsiders alert he excuses himself--no problem, they're both used to this--and takes the car to the Roost. (Martin can get home by Hyperloop, he's done it before.)

Shattered windows in the neighborhood, and he can't see the fires, and he can't feel as far afield as Miss Martian can, telepathically, but he hears the comm as he's pulling up. The tone of her voice is really what makes him bolt on inside, mostly following in Gabby's wake; he's only just met them, but two of the Outsiders are people he cares about a great deal and the rest of them, well... here's here to help, right? He'll start scanning the place telepathically as soon as he's inside, looking for... survivors? That's not a pleasant thought.

<<"Archivist here, I'm going inside to check... I expect the Gotham PD will be arriving unless you've got them diverted elsewhere.">> Who's he even talking to? Who's even still alive and okay?

Karen Starr has posed:
On any other day, the likelihood of someone like Karen Starr being in Gotham is limited to moderately publicized discussions between tech giants like Wayne and Starrware... But today is a different sort of day. Today is the day that Karen Starr is going to introduce herself to the Outsiders proper- she expects of course to meet with Red Robin, who should theoretically be present... Little does she know.

She's arranged a lot, making her way down a freight elevator into the Roost from one of its secret entrances- one of the only ones that she has been informed of- and much of the initial equipment that she's prepared to assist the Outsiders with training programs have been loaded onto a floating transport that seems to hover quietly a foot and a half off of the ground.

Riding atop it is the person in question, the platinum-blonde, somewhat-zaftig build of tech mogul Karen Starr, cuts an intriguing figure in her usual businesswear of a salmoon pink, pinstriped pantsuit. Standing atop this pallet of gear, Karen keeps her arms at her side, doing her best to pose heroically as she hovers into what she figures is going to be a warm welcome: After all, she's here with free stuff. Who could argue with that? Brilliant green eyes shielded behind coke-bottle thick glasses have not even properly lit upon the carnage before her, and as a result, the first thing she does to address the assembled young heroes is... Not the most tactful move.

"Everyone, everyone, you may rejoice! I am finally here, Karen Starr, and I have brought-" mid sentence, she pauses, a sudden stark look of terror and concern flashing over her features and locking in. "Holy /shit./"

Scrambling to get herself off of the pile of boxes and crates and down from the pallet she'd brought- as if she had never really considered how she'd get down from where she was standing- she eventually hits the ground and starts pushing into the Roost beyond the elevator. The pallet behind her floats obediently in the elevator.

She hadn't paid attention to the emergency vehicles on the surface- and wasn't present for the fight- with little ability to know what has gone on, she simply calls out: "Hello! Who's here! Is everyone okay? How can I help? I have robots that can- uh, lift the rubble!" Her voice cracks here and there, showing directly the strain and panic of walking into a disaster.

Conner Kent has posed:
The damage in the lower levels is minimal, although the lights are out but for the flashing alarm ones. It is the residential section, where the outsiders usually hang out when off duty, the rec room, the kitchen and some of the private rooms. The damage there is extensive despite the reinforced structure, with holes even in the ceiling and the floor, broken windows and the kitchen pretty much gone. There are several large blood pools, and Bluebird boots sticking under a pile of rubble. Likely Pixie is also around, trying to dig Harper out.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn glances around and sighs, "What a mess.." but she's certain that the villains didn't nab everyone. Surely some others escaped..? "Hey, is anyone here? Hello?" she flies around! peering this way and that and catches sight of Harper's boot before she hears her, "Heey! Are you okay? hold on!" she tries to pull off chunks of rubble, although a lot of the bigger pieces are pretty heavy.

When people start talking on the comm, she pauses a moment to respond. <<Hey, Pixie here..Some bad guys broke in and attacked us..They took Superboy, Balm, X-23 and Red Robin. Not sure if Impulse got away, but looks like someone is buried in the rubble.." she was never formally introduced to Harper and does not yet know her name.

As Karen arrives first, she waves to her, "Over here! Someone's buried in the rubble!"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches up to yank her helmet off dropping it carelessly to the floor as she hastens her way inside. Some of the flooring had caved in which then became the portion of the ceiling that had collapsed close to where Harper was. It's here she pauses with an ashen look on hr face at the pool of blood and boots sticking out from beneath. "There's fire and I smell gas burning," she informs the footsteps behind her which a quick glance had confirmed was the Archivist. Likely he would smell the same though---She didn't have the heightened senses some of her family did. "Going down, careful," she offers just before she lowers herself in, grasping at an exposed cross beam to swing down in trying not to land anywhere too bad. The radio from M'gann crackles in her hear and she's quick to add her own response. <<Honey Badger. Just arrived on scene. Fire, and there's been a fight. Lower levels are bad. Collapsed. Local law and fire are incoming.>> Pixie's calling out to Karen snaps her attention to then other woman just as she begins to bristle at the unfamiliar face--Wait. Was it? Whoever she was, she didn't look terribly threatening at the moment at least. "That's Bluebird," she informs Megan only to ask, "They got my sister?" That would have to wait to process. She's already moving to try and duck her head as far beneath the rubble as she can with a pen light flicked out from a pocket to examine beneath. "We need to get this off her, there could be crush damage if she's under too long."

Harper Row has posed:
Beneath the rubble, Harper groans and tries to move -- as evidenced by the slight movement of her feet. "<<Anyone get the number of that truck?>>" she asks over the comms. "<<Hurting, woozie. Who is out here and why did Conner attack us?>>" follows the first question in a slightly slurred and breathy voice.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
As he follows Gabby down into the rubble, a steady litany of 'oh god oh no' starts up in Jon's head, which he very firmly quashes off to one side. Despite the damage, he's actually seen worse. The trouble, of course, that this is people he /cares/ about. So he has to consciously shove away his worries.

The list of who "they" took makes Jon stop for a moment and put his hand to his chest. Tim /and/ Phoebe? He has to focus, though. Panicking isn't going to help them.

He comes up behind Gabby and crouches down to peer beneath the rubble. "Don't move her," he says. "Move the rubble, /carefully/. If she's 'woozy' she might have a concussion, and that means a head injury. As soon as we can, someone needs to get in there and hold her head still. Does she have an advanced healing factor or anything?" How is his tone so /calm/ in these situations? He's terrified, the fear like a beacon to any other telepaths in the victinity. Fortunately only one of the Outsiders on-site is such.

He raises his voice. "Bluebird? This is the Archivist. We haven't met, but I'm a doctor. Don't try to move, okay? Can you tell me exactly where you hurt?" To keep her aware, and talking. 'Conner attacked us...' well, that they can get to. Good /lord/.

Karen Starr has posed:
"Someone's buried? Okay! Okay! I have, uh," there's a mild panic, as Karen for a moment considers breaking off this whole charade. The idea is fleeting, though: She can't go back in time and stop this from happening, and even if she could, part of her intent here, her role- well, it's to help. To help them stand on their own. To do more than involve herself as Karen Starr might be disingenous- even if it really, really hurts to be so mundane right now.

Regardless, though- that doesn't mean Karen Starr can't help. "Uh. Uh. Uh." she rifles through some of the stacked crates, until finally finding the right one: "Drones drones drones...." she mutters to herself, pulling the crate out and setting it down. "Okay, let's, uh," a little frazzled, Karen manages to open up the plastic box, and unleash from it a pair of dog sized flying... Things. She takes a small puck from within the box, and does her best impression of a person who can't throw the moon: hurling it up and over the debris and landing it around where Bluebird is buried. The drones fly off as she calls, "Search and rescue!"

The drones do not, of course, remain that way for long: Karen had repurposed these things to serve as combat drones for testing and training the capabilities of the Outsiders, but they were, originally, search and rescue drones. So, that's helpful. As gently as they can- they are robots, after all- the flying things, joined soon by another pair, and then another, scan over the area around the puck with bright blue wavy lights. Soon after- especially soon if aided by the others near Bluebird, they fire drill-pins into the rock and rubble to hook in and drag larger rocks away.

It isn't to say they make quick work of it: They're not large drones, and will need help finding, and moving, larger pieces of debris... But at the very least, there's a way to get /at/ Harper now.

"Okay, uh..." she calls, "Is everyone else okay, is anyone injured, who, uh, Jesus, Who did this?"

Conner Kent has posed:
The blood on the floor is not Harper's. Phoebe, Laura and Tim didn't go down without a fight, and they were all injured. Who were the enemies? Tim probably had cameras in the rec room, so most of the battle can be seen, although only Gabby and M'gann would have the access needed.

Megan and Harper saw most of it, of course. But only Bart saw Conner becoming Match.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks as Harper responds, "Bluebird? Hey..Don't move! We're coming to get you!" she continues to pull off rubble but heeds Jonathan's warnings to pull it off more carefully, stepping aside as those robot thingies start dragging chunks away. "Oooh, so cool.." she murmurs, but doesn't have a lot of time to ogle, nodding to the others that arrive. As for Connor, she frowns, "I don't really know why he attacked us. Or why he was dressed funny or why I never noticed it sooner.." granted, she doesn't know Superboy that well, but..

To Karen she shrugs and sighs, "Umm well there were what, six villains? I'm sure you could replay it on the security cameras? Maybe get some clues there?" Megan sighs, "They were too strong..I should have ported everyone out sooner. But, at least they seemed to want to keep them alive. They could have killed em but they didn't." well not yet anyway.

"Impulse! Did they catch him too? I don't see him.."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
At hypersonic speed, the BioShip crosses the distance between the Mojave Desert and Gotham City in a matter of minutes. Stopping on a dime above the roost, because air breaks, M'gann doesn't even bother to land the ship. Instead she tells the ship to land itself, while she phases through its floor and drops through the intervening space.

The roof of the Roost, as well as several upper levels are each phased through in turn as she blankets the entire building with her telepathy searching for conscious minds and their current conditions.

<<What happened here?!>> It is a question broadcast to every sentient mind in the area of the building and one tinged with far more anger than anyone who knows her would otherwise expect from M'gann.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I'll get under. I'm small," Gabby assures Jon at mention of needing to hold Harper's head. True to her word she tucks the flashlight between her teeth before laying down to shimmy and wriggle very carefully beneath the rubble. The work of the drones makes it easir though she's still careful not to do anything that might dislodge or disrupt any load bearing debris. Soon enough she's near Bluebird and mumbles, "Doc says don't move your head so... Don't okay? You say Conner was dressed weird? Like, how? I don't think Conner would attack any of us." But there were always explanations. Thankfully it seems neither is under there long with the combined work of Megan and the drones.

Harper Row has posed:
With the rubble removed it can be seen that Harper is wearing an armored costume with ceramic plates protecting her vitals... likely much of her pain is coming from impacts with that but there is a visible contusion on her forehead above her mask.

"Head and back," Harper replies to Jon's question, "Connor attacked us after a bunch of people exploded into the place..." She then says, "I'd just showered," as if that was an important fact also.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods to Gabby and continues to carefully remove rubble, "Ah, there she is! Thank goodness you're wearing armour!" she seems relieved, nodding to Gabby and Jon. "I don't think her injuries are too bad.." but then he's the pro, not her and she steps aside to let him take a look. "Hmm, well Superboy was wearing all black outfit with some weird glowy red stripes that made him look like a TRON character..And you're right.Maybe he was brainwashed or mind controlled? I dunno."

She frowns, glancing around. And now that Bluebird is taken care of, Megan scans the rest of the room for anyone else. As M'gann arrives, she nods to her, "Some bad guys broke in and attacked us. Superboy, Laura, Balm and Red Robin were kidnapped. Not sure of Impulse yet. I dont see him here, Ill keep looking.." and with that she heads out of the room to check nearby areas, calling out for him.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The repeated statements about the kidnappings, and Impulse being missing... and then Miss Martian's /fury/ is what finally gets to him, and he reaches for the bracer beneath his left shirt sleeve. Twists it, and with a flare of light he's wearing a pleated cape that looks almost like feathers, a gold ibis mask with a black beak, a crown with a feather on it, a beaded gold-and-blue docie over white linen, yellow-gold pleated skirt, wrapped sandals. An honest-to-goodness superhero outfit, with magical girl transformation flash to boot.

The Archivist, at least, can be dispassionate about all of this. He stays crouched down, watching Karen's drones uncover the rubble. "Her her head in place," he calls to Gabby. "One hand on either side, carefully. Don't jostle her at all. Bluebird, did you recognize any of the people who 'exploded in'?" His gaze flicks about for a moment. He recognizes the traces of Balm's magic, but not some of the others. Curious.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I got her. And yes no moving your back either," Gabby agrees while waiting for the rubble to be cleared. One she can she hooks one arm around the far side of Harper's head creating a crook with her elbow to ensure that her head doesn't move. The light of the penlight she brought was bright, but pinpoint, and inside the awkward angles of the rubble it didn't have much of a clear shot at giving detail. It did at least add illumination to the gloom, and dust, and damp. Even so she squints when more is cleared letting the actual light in. "Let me know if I'm doing anything that hurts, okay? I... I can't feel pain myself so I don't always know."

Karen Starr has posed:
The drones must be careful. They cannot risk allowing the rubble's careful bubble in which Harper is laying collapsing on itself- so after they move a piece of rubble, they then take a moment to scan as a team, reassessing each time to make sure that they're pulling the rocks and debris away in the proper order to keep Bluebird- and now Gabby- safe.

"Okay, uh, they're gonna do drone things, uh, let me just..." Of course, step two of any training scenario involving superheroics is going to involve first aid. "Medical medical medical..." she mutters again, as she had before regarding the drones. Eventually, after shifting some smaller boxes this way and that, she uncovers a dog-sized red box, with a white cross on the front.

Frankly, it looks like something out of a video game, and she hasn't the foggiest if it'll even be useful. Jon had said he was a medic, but what that means in context is unclear: Guy could have magic powers. He could also have the power of knowing how to use a medkit. These are equally likely, and not mutually exclusive. Karen just goes with what she knows.

Box in hand, Karen starts trudging around the perimeter of the destruction, until eventually she's sidling up next to the man still outside of the rubble.

"I have a thing! It's got lots of medical stuff in it! I didn't pack it, so I have no idea what's not in there, but I did say comprehensive to the people who did the packing so, uh, yeah!"

Harper Row has posed:
Harper, with her visible head injury and concealled bruises up and down her back, shakes her head slowly to address Jon's question. "Didn' recognize dem no not at all," she slurs her answer and then her eyes flutter closed as she passes out unconscious.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann listens as the contours of the situation are explained. Her eyes continue to glow bright crimson as she watches the drones work. Far from her usual caring and nurturing self, her demeanor is almost sinister as she lends a hand in her own way and reaches out with her telekinesis lifting the falling debris and just flinging it aside into various corners.

The key phrase that they were taken alive seems to stay her growing anger at least a little bit, but the fact she still cannot find her missing friends telepathically remains a source of endless frustration for the Martian redhead.

When the sound of sirens begin to be heard in the distance, M'gann looks to the others present. "Find out what you can. I will deal with the authorities." That might not be the best idea in her current state, for the police anyway, but she doesn't exactly wait around for anyone to stop her, going back out by phasing through the ceiling again.

Tim Drake has posed:
The alarm is still sounding within the Roost, though its volume has slowly decreased in the intervening period. As emergency services received calls from several onlookers noting the smoke and damage, automated failsafes go into place: a few well-timed fake calls that rerouted GCPD and GCFD elsewhere. It hasn't lasted forever, but it gave everyone time to arrive and see the immediate aftermath of the battle, such that it was. With M'gann's efforts, there will be enough of a delay to get a cover story in place. There are already several options primed and waiting for someone to log into the system and initiate.

There is minimal external damage, to be fair: it's more the smoke than anything that will have attracted attention, and indeed the Roost has some of the best fire suppression systems in place that money can buy. There's real potential to cover this all up as a minor event if people work fast enough.

Several of the rooms are in lockdown, too. While the Rec Room and the kitchen area see the most damage (rest in pieces, AHAB) there has been some structural damage in the hallway leading to the nearby dorm rooms, though thankfully nothing past that. There blood in the rec room, which is a significant amount, is both Phoebe's and Laura's. Nothing of Tim's unless someone goes into the stairwell and finds the spray there. The stairwell is also the only way to access the labs, right now, as that whole level is on lockdown to prevent access to the medbay and computer lab, though the computers within are already in the process of being restored from a factory reset as the danger has passed.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The Archivist turns to look at Karen, glowing eyes under the ibis mask. "Oh, thank you. We haven't met. I'm the Archivist... and I'm a medical doctor, among other things. Do I know you from somewhere?" It's half a rhetorical question. "Well, bring the med kit, in case we need it."

He watches Miss Martian leave, nods as if to say 'well that's taken care of,' and strides on in to the rubble to kneel down next to Harper. "Damn it, she's unconscious. Definitely a concussion, hard to say how bad... Gabby, can you move, please?" Once the mutant assassin has done so, he waves his left hand along Harper's body, conjuring up a stretcher beneath her. "Let's get her to the med bay. Someone needs to find out what happened here, and..."

He hesitates, while grabbing one end of the stretcher, waiting for someone else to grab the other. "I... could. It's... it's what I /do/. I see events that have happened. But... I don't want to, if there's another way." That was a difficult admission, by the sound of it.

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen holds out the medbox to the man, as if presenting it more intensely would result in it being required. In her head, she is running around with the idea of how exactly she should introduce herself, and eventually settles on the reality of the fact that Karen Starr should be losing her shit right now.

    Thus, it is entirely lost.

"HELLO I AM KAREN STARR I OWN A COMPANY WHERE IS RED ROBIN?"

Having effectively shouted that at Jon she looks momentarily at the stretcher, and then up at her drones. "SEARCH AND RESCUE." she shouts again, and the drones flit in, each one dislodging a manipulator arm that reaches for a corner of the stretcher, so that Jon and Gabby don't have to carry Harper. It was what they were originally designed for, and while they don't have their built-in stretcher attached anymore (RE: Guns RE: Training) they can still do the deed.

Looking back at Jon "Please take this it is heavy."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney keeps rigidly still at least until she's given leave to let go. Then she rolls back raising her arms up. It was such an awkward position to have lain in for awhile though she makes no complaint for doing so. "Yeah, she's out, but her breathing is steady. That's good right?" It was an attempt to find a silver lining, to reassure, much as she could. Rolling to her feet, dusty dirty and damp, she brushes her hands off on her thighs a moment regarding Karen, then the stretcher that Jon had crouchd beside. "It's fine, Arc. This place is covered with cameras. We can use those. I promise there's none in the bathrooms though!" A joke to try and alleviate the tension much as possible before she nods her head toward Karen. "Hey. Thanks. I'm Honey Badger. Red Robin is... Gone for now from the early reports," she adds with a complete frown. As the drones take over the other side of the stretcher she starts for the more secure areas below. "Medbay is this way. Let me take point though, there's still a lot of damage--" Her voice carries as she heads into the rec areas where the main fight was. It's here she pauses, arm stretched out suddenly over the doorway to keep others from following. At least for a moment as she assesses the situation. There was so much blood. Too much for someone to survive in one case where Laura had been shot through the heart. "... The doors. I. Let me get the doors. Lockdown requires access from a full team member so lucky for you I fit the bill! Oh hey did you hear about the kidnapping? He woke up!" Not the best dad joke for the moment but she keeps chattering trying to distract the others as best she can from the sights they might see when passing by. "Medbay, this way. Hosiery, upholstery, kitchenwares downstairs!" Her eyes linger on the rec room a moment longer as she tries to figure out how to determine whose blood was where. Who may potentially be in worse shape than Harper. If only she could. If only... "Archivist? I'm going to ask you to do something and I need you to do it without questioning or worrying. Just trust me, okay?"

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The Archivist actually /is/ losing his shit, just, internally, which is why he did the magical girl transformation, so Jonathan Sims didn't break down crying about /Tim/ and /Phoebe/ being /kidnapped/ and maybe /dead/ and oh /gods/ what is he going to tell /Chas/ and... no. No. Stop that.

At any rate, this is the real reason he snaps at Karen: "Good gods, pull yourself together." He steps back to let the drones take the stretcher, and takes the medkit from Karen as requested, and then follows Gabby on into the living area.

Where he has to stop, and pray, and, forcibly, /forcibly/, keep his Sight closed and not /touch/ anything because he does /not/ want a statement about this. He does not. (He does.) He does NOT. "Great Mother protect them," he whispers.

Then he blinks at Gabby. "I... what? Yes, of course, what is it?" He's not going to break down and cry. That's why he /transformed/ in front of a /stranger/ damn it.

Karen Starr has posed:
There is some degree to which Karen sympathizes. Frankly, she sympathizes a /lot./ Conner's gone, and if everything else were different but that, she'd still be /furious./ Hell, it's taking every last bit of self control she has not to find out on her own what this whole 'Superboy attacked us' business is about. He's the most aloof member of the House of El, but he's still one of them.

If she ever finds out that it's /these/ people that are misuing /their/ DNA? That's going to be bad for some people. Really, really bad. Luckily, for NOWHERE at least, the role that Karen has designed for herself within this organization is one that will not find out about these things until after the fact, unless something goes perhaps amazingly wrong.

This is why she winds it around in her head to perhaps give Jon a bit of confidence- hopefully enough that the man doesn't collapse in on himself right now. She's seen situations like this before. She's /had/ these breakdowns before. Losing your home twice hardens you: But this all still hurts.

"Right! Right! Together! I have a lot of things that could be useful, uh, I was coming down to hand over some stuff for training, but, if we need to get through the building, the drones can use lasers, and there's other stuff, on the pallet, that we can use."

By this point, despite her babbling, she's following along, and starting to list out the things that might be of use... Which, honestly, is quite a bit.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches out to take hold of Jon's arms while giving him as reassuring a smile as she can. Locking her eyes with his she tries to keep his attention from shifting back to th blood around them. It worried her, too, but she was used to seeing blood. Used to dealing with sisters going missing. Used to so much of this compared to him, it seemed. So she remains calm and tries to take care of the others who were needed to ensure Harper would be all right.

"There's a lot of blood but there is *not* enough to account for three people dying. I *promise.*" One person yes. Not two. One severely hurt, one potentially dead, and the rest just injured. But not dead. "My sister is one of the people taken. X-23 is a trained assassin, and a mutant regenerator. The *only* way they could have taken her is if they had ktried to kill her--And that won't kill her permanently. We're tough to keep down but her healing factor is slower than mine. That means Red Robin and Balm are alive. We can, and will get them back, and figure out who is framing Conner. I know he wouldn't do this. Clone intuition."

"Now, I need you to punch me in the nose as hard as possible. It's okay, I can't feel pain."

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The Archivist is used to all of this, and Jon's more used to it than he wants to be. He'll break down later. He always does. And this time, nobody's /dead/. This time, they can /save/ these people. And Gabby's /sister/ is gone. So he takes his own advice and pulls himself together.

He nods to Gabby. "Whatever's going on, I am certain that you, that /we/ will handle it." Damn it, he's supposed to be the Responsible Adult. Start adulting!

Which... evidently means punching Gabby in the face?

He glowers at her for a moment. "Alright, then. Ms. Starr, have the drones put Bluebird in the med bay and I'll see about healing her concussion. I suspect we're going to need her awake and at full capacity." Healing, yes, he can do that. Sure. "And assess any further structural damage, so we can be certain the whole place won't fall on us."

As he speaks, he reaches to his side and pulls what looks like a baton off a loop there. Shakes it, and it extends into an ankh-topped quarterstaff. Gabby can't feel pain. She just needs the blood. Or the adrenaline? Whatever. He can do this.

He doesn't punch her. He hits her with the staff, with as much magical force behind as he can muster, which makes it /feel/ like a punch, anyway.

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen nods a few times, and then moves towards the drones. "Uh, okay, maybe this function will work, uh- Search and Rescue, identify medical equipment and deposit patient on an available bed." she states, starting to calmly pace back and forth. "I think we got the bed part working." That's... A legitimate worry. She doesn't wholly recall. Despite this, she turns from the drones, the four of which begin to make their way into the base, and head towards the medbay, scanning all the while to identify the hallmarks they need to identify they're where they ought to be.

They're drones, of course, so they go the wrong way the first time before backtracking and finding the medbay. Nobody ever said they were perfect at the search and rescue thing. They're probably better at nonfatally wounding superheroes in training scenarios.

That fact should probably be alarming to Karen, but she'll think about it later.

In the meantime, she jogs- hilariously, because she's basically someone's chunky aunt- and makes it back to the pallet on which her equipment still resides. "Survey survey survey," she mutters to herself, before hauling a larger crate off of the pallet near the bottom, marked Construction. "SURVEY." she shouts at the box, which pops open and starts disgorging a worrying amount of small metallic spheres. "Scan the building and identify structural weakpoints, I want to know what's going to come down and what SHOULD come down, so we can shore these levels up."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney watches Karen jog off to tend to more things... But it was good, right? That meant she wouldn't necessarily be here when it comes to Jon cracking her across the face with that pole. It does what's necessary though--There's a sickening crunch of bone, and a quick instinctive gasp from her sucking in a breath of air due to blood trickling down the back of her throat. Maybe she should have considered that part first. Turning to the side she spits out a bit of the blood with a quick nod and a croaked, "Thanks." Bloodied, nose broken, she grins. "Let's get to the medbay," she instructs as if this were the most normal thing in the world to have occur. "Before our new friend gets back with more stuff."

Turning away it's her turn to lope down the corridors calling out, "This way, Dronies!" Well what else was she going to call them? When she does arrive at the doors where they flutter and attempt to gain passage she pauses to tend to the keypad nearby. "It's okay, let them through. Got wounded to take care of," she informs out loud talking to the computer itself. Even though she's actually typing in her security access. It was just. Well. She tended to anthropomorphize a lot of things. By now though the broken nose? Was already healed.

A quick sniff is taken to assure her of this, and she reaches up to tap the side of her nose again. "Might need to keep doing that," she utters. "As many times as necessary." Necessary for what? "I've got the same genetics, and I know from experience mutations can be spurred into occuring with trauma."

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The Archivist... stares at Gabby for a long moment as he follows her to the medbay door. "I... wait, /what/? Keep /doing/ that?" He chews on his lip. There /has/ to be a better way to keep hitting her than to... keep hitting her. For one thing, he has a /patient/ to take care of.

He closes his eyes for a moment. Ponders the interval it took for Gabby's nose to heal. "This is going to be hard," he mutters. "Hurting people is /hard/." What he conjures up, therefore, isn't /really/ meant to hurt people. It's a jack-in-the-box, the sort with a big ol' boxing glove inside to punch the person holding it, hard. Triggered to go off just outside the interval it took Gabby's nose to heal.

He hands it over to Gabby. "There. It'll keep punching you. Just let me know when you don't need it anymore, it's going to take some concentration to keep it... existing." Healing Harper should be easier, one hopes.

That done--presuming Gabby /takes/ the thing--he turns away to the bed where the drones have, one hopes, put Harper by now. "Umm... computer? Can I get a reading on the patient?" That's how this works, right? Tim designed this place. Tim's as big a nerd as he is, if not moreso. There's a computer, right?

Karen Starr has posed:
When Gabby arrives at the medbay doors, the drones are in a... Bit of a loop. They've identified the medical equipment beyond the doors, and are currently moving to the doors, bonking off of them, scooting back a bit, identifying the medical equipment beyond the doors, moving to the, bonking off of them... Luckily, it does not at all seem to be jostling the bedborne patient of Bluebird, as the arms are gyroscopically stabilized. Bonk. Bonk. Bonk. Then they're in!

The drones move over to the first available bed, and then settle the stretcher onto it until Harper is safe to dislodge from it. Then they float there, contemplating their life decisions until told what else to do. They're good boys, really.

Karen, meanwhile, has deployed some amazingly futuristic spheres reminiscent of a certain Terrific individual- her best approximation from back home, really- which emit a 360 degree scanning light that is highlighting cracks in foundation and loadbearing pillars. Now that she's deployed them, she starts scuttling her way to the medbay, which is luckily open now.

"Okay. I'm scanning the place now, uh, what's next? They'll tell me what needs doing, when they're done."

Tim Drake has posed:
The door panel blinks from red to green after Gabby enters her code.

    USER: HONEY BADGER
    SECURITY ACCEPTED
    LOCKDOWN LIFTING

Then the door slides open to allow her, the drones carrying an unconscious Harper on Jon's astral construct stretcher, and Jon himself into the labs. The lights shift from emergency red to their standard bright, cool white, and both doors to the computer lab and medbay also unlock.

Once in the medbay, straight through to the trauma room. There's only one bed, but admittedly until Jon joined as an adult advisor they only had one person who operated the equipment in it regularly--and Phoebe's been kidnapped.

As Jon questions the computer, it beeps an acknowledgement and a light sweeps over Harper's body, scanning her. Concussion; fractured bones; multiple contusions, superficial cuts, and the like. But no serious, life-threatening injuries, thankfully. It lists out a series of suggested medical procedures, but it's nothing beyond what Jon himself would know to do with the supplied diagnoses.

The other drones, the ones upstairs, note that the internal shell that seems to surround the hidden areas of the building--those that make up the Roost--has been compromised. It plays both the role of providing additional security and protection for the Outsiders' headquarters as well as structural support, so they'll no doubt identify it as needing the most immediate repairs first.

The computer terminal in the lab blinks. On its screen, it reads ATTN: HONEY BADGER.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Even as she mentions it may be necessary multiple times, apparently, Gabby's eyes slide over to Harper. That took priority after all. Her attention snaps back to Jon when he offers out the punching... thing. Eyebrows raise a few times only for her to nod. "I could just hit myself in the face but I'm trying not to be self-destructive," she explains matter-of-fact. Nevermind she's seeking out having her nose repeatedly broken in the hopes of spurring on her olfactory mutation in the first place.

Moving off to the side with the staff she sets it to the side with a sigh. "Next?" A small frown creeps over her bloodied lips as she runs through a few quick thoughts. "Next we stabilize Bluebird, then we contact--"

Huh? Attention her?

"Just a sec," she mutters to Karen as she trails off of her ideas on how to proceed in favor of heading over to the computer terminal. Sinking down into the chair in front of it she reaches absently for the drawer on the desk to fish out some gummi worms. One is popped into her mouth as she activates the screen. "Next we find Red Robin who likely has a tracker on him. Otherwise I keep trying to activate my own innate tracking ability."

Then she keys the computer to bring up what message may be there for her.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn had stepped out of the Rec Room in search of Impulse, having forgotten in the excitement that her arm had been singed by a lightning attack. Somewhere in the hallway she had finally succumbed to the pain and passed out.

Eventually someone had found her and brought her semi-conscious body to the medbay where she is laying down now. But ouch, that arm doesn't look so good. Fortunately, she's only suffered superficial burns and her clothing offered some protection but there are a few blisters on her lower arm and red skin that needs medical attention.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
"So contact Batman, is what you're saying. Terrific." The Archivist's tone is wry as he looks over the readout on Harper, considering. Medical procedures, but there's little to do for a concussion except time. Unless...

Absently, he calls to Karen, "Have the drones search for any other survivors. And check on the animals, Impulse... Impulse said there are animals." He swallows, then focuses on Harper. "Computer, scan the other patient?" He gestures toward Megan. "And report."

Then he conjures up a globe of water, much more easily than he's done anything else. The stretcher fades into nothingness at the same time, leaving Harper on the medbay bed. He takes a deep breath. "Computer," he says, "I need a scan of the patient's brain, and an immediate alert if anything touches /inside/ the surrounding membrane." The brain is tricky, and he doesn't want to touch it at all if he can help it. Focus on the bleeding in the outer cavity and that should stabilize her.

Then he sort of... puts the globe of water around Harper's skull, like a cap, and focuses his attention on healing the concussion damage.

Karen Starr has posed:
There's a moment there where Karen gets to thinking. Of all the people she can confide in regarding her involvement, Bruce is probably the one that would be most furious if he didn't know. Looking over a tablet that is now reporting to her the extent of the damage, Karen looks up from it as soon as Jon and Gabby state the obvious: Someone has to talk to Batman.

"I'll do that." she states, not immediately elaborating on how, "If one of you guys does it, it might get bad, but I'm not really involved yet, while I do that you guys can work on whatever you need to to get the people they took back, right? I have it right, they took people? Plus, he can't get angry at me, I'm a civilian, a normie, I'm not one of you cape types. You don't need to deal with that right now. Won't be hard to get in touch with the guy, it's Gotham. I'll put a light on a cloud."

    Haha, wrong.

Nonetheless, Karen is League. If a member of the League were involved and didn't /immediately/ tell Bruce, there'd be an absolute shitstorm. She has to go no matter what. "There's a lot of damage to the structure, uh, listen- no matter what, you guys can't /stay/ here right now. These people know where you are, so it's not safe, and the building isn't safe, uh... I have..." she pauses, to think- genuinely, in fact- "Metropolis or New York? Take your pick, I've got space."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen has ran and now that he makes sure he has lost them messages are sent out for aid. He is heading back in but makes sure others know whats going on. "Outsider's base attacked, Most of the team taken, by NOWHERE, with a Fake Superboy, I am heading back in to see if I can get to anyone." And with that he is back towards Gotham. He stops in the apartment, heading to Tim's room first. He grabs Tim's spare utility belt, wearing it like a bandoler. He grabs all the extra throwing Rs and even the extra staff. At this point, he wishes he knew were Hope kept some of her extra equipment but he does not. So Bart not realizing he did a minor time jump starts vibrating down into the main rec room, multiple pellets held between his fingers ready to throw them. "Release my friends." He shouts out planning to draw attention before throwing the pellets, and stops when he does not see bad guys in the wrecked rec room.

Tim Drake has posed:
The medbay computer can only do so much. Many of the procedures listed in its medical databank are really just instructions for an actual user to perform with guidance from the system, to the point that someone like Phoebe, who is self-taught, can manage without having to involve medical professionals from outside the team.

And then there's really nothing more to do but hope that her (and now, Jon's) healing abilities can handle the rest.

But it can do what Jon requests of it. Monitoring. So it keeps that light beam aimed at Harper's skull while Jon does what he can.

Another similar light scans Megan's body, identifying the burn on her arm. But it can do no more than that, as she's just on one of the recovery beds. Maybe they need to get another trauma bed.

    Renovations incoming.

The computer terminal at what is basically Phoebe's desk turns on.

    "Hey, HB."

    It's Red Robin's voice.

A second later, a video player pops up, and centered on the frame is the Outsiders leader himself, expression grim. "If you're watching this video, the Roost has been breached, and the team leads aren't available. I hope that means Conner and I are just on vacation or something, but what are the odds of both of us doing that at the same time?" He smiles, though it's a tight expression.

"I've always wanted to make him play tour guide for me in Hawaii." On the screen, he sits back a little bit, head tilted to the side like he's looking somewhere other than the camera. "Well, anyway. Right now, you're in command at the Roost. There are a few things you need to do, depending on what's happened."

As the video continues, Red Robin lays out a series of contingency plans based on various potential scenarios that might have occurred. The important one, however, relates to the Roost's containment shell being breached, with the possibility of civilian discovery of their headquarters. It goes thusly:

    1. Shore up the damage so the Roost isn't visible from outside.
    2. Activate one of the pre-arranged cover stories (options given) that fit the circumstances.
    3. Enter the Core at the bottom of the Roost. Its security has been temporarily recoded to answer to Honey Badger's codes and biometrics.
    4. Leave the Roost. Lockdown will initiate on her order, until she judges the situation safe for people to return.
    5. Alert all members, full, recruit, and allies, of the compromised Roost.

While this is being explained, Karen's drones will have fully mapped out the extent of the damage. Very little of it goes beyond the Roost itself, though parts of Tim's apartment has been compromised. Just a hallway that links up a few back rooms, thankfully, though as the smoke begins to dissipate, the Roost's inner shell will be exposed to the open air.

In fact, when Bart appears back in the Rec Room, he'll be able to see a sliver of the Gotham sky.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney remains seated watching the recording being played over the screen. Her fingers lace together in front of her face as she rests her lips against them paying rapt attention to what all is being said. Most of it was things she already was rolling over in her head how to respond--And that actually gives her a great sense of relief that she had been on the right track with her thinking. It's being told that she was in charge of the Roost right now that finally sinks home the severity of the situation.

Not that she wasn't already aware of it. It just finalized it.

The security that runs throughout was still active enough to alert her by a little blip at the corner of the monitor regarding Impulse's arrival. That at least takes care of one loose end. <<Impulse. Medbay. We're locking the Roost down soon as Bluebird and Pixie are stable or healed.>>

Drawing a deep breath she flits her gaze up to watch Jon tending to Bluebird a moment, and nods at the way the bed seems to have taken over Pixie's care. Then with a grin she smiles toward Karen blurting out the first thing that comes to mind.

"Miss Starr, the only one that can vouch as to your presence here is currently gone. The fact that you're here, with equipment that would have improved the Roost is kinda sus though. I'm not going to pry as to your identity, but let's cut through some of the bull at this point. You're in-the-know one way or another, aren't you? No one says 'I'll contact Batman' without an actual means to do so." She sits back in the chair reaching up to gather her hair at the nape of her neck. It's twisted in hand and pulled through itself to tie it into a knot through which she jabs a random pen plucked up off the desk.

"I know he needs to be contacted but I would ask that you give us the chance to do so first. Please. I don't want us to be seen as a bunch of kids too inept to know when they ought to reach out for help. Besides," she adds with a nudge of her chin to the computer screen. "Apparently there's already protocol in place. That I need to tend to since my codes are the active ones right now. If you can, a great way to aid is to inform authorities of a natural gas leak. That ought to keep them in the area offering some protection from above while we see to the rest. But, yah, we're not wasting time. Also if your drones can start to hide the secured areas from view? That would really a big help."

"Is she going to be okay, Arc?"

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Some time passes before M'gann finally returns, phasing in through the ceiling again. There is less urgency this time well she's not rushing into a completely unknown situation, but that simmering dark anger is still there. "The police have been dealt with." She informs everyone, slightly ominously.

Her attention then turns to Gabby, "What is the situation here, was anything further discovered during my absence?" And her eyes drift to Karen as well, "And who is she?" Maybe she just didn't notice the first time, a lot has been happening, it's all a lot.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
"Not New York," the Archivist says distractedly. "There's too much danger there just now, and too many potential enemies of both Balm and Red Robin that might want to hurt their teammates." He doesn't look 'round at Tim's voice coming out of the computer terminal. But he does add, "Looks like Honey Badger's in charge, though, so it's her call." Deferring to a teenager isn't /that/ strange for him. And this is what his role is on the team, after all--advise and consult, and help with trauma. And, presumably, come help save kidnapped team members.

The globe of water slowly shrinks as he uses its energy to encourage Harper's brain to heal, and then he takes what's left along the rest of her body, making sure the contusions and lacerations are dealt with. A silent telepathic command to 'rest' keeps her asleep for now, just in case she needs a little more time. He didn't touch her brain directly, after all.

"Bluebird's going to be fine. I'm leaving her asleep for now, just in case her brain needs any more time to heal--the brain's finicky and I don't know enough to trust myself to try to heal it directly. But she can be moved." As he says this, he's walking over to the bed where Pixie lies, looking over the readout. Burn, blisters, passed out... from pain and shock probably? She's newer, maybe she's not used to this? He sighs, and conjures up another globe of water to start healing her with.

"Honey Badger's right, Ms. Starr. The Outsiders are capable and resourceful in their own way. We are here to assist." A pause, and then he adds, "But I can also assure you, Honey Badger, that she's not 'sus.' She's here to help, for certain." He taps the side of his head with the hand not currently wrapping water around Pixie's arm. "Empathy."

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen snorts a bit, letting out a small bit of laugh- ostensibly at the idea that she's in-the-know- that is decidedly uncharacteristic of what a human should be doing. It's more shrill than it ought to be, and reaches this obnoxious cackle that she, sadly, designed to be offputting when she was putting together the identity of Karen Starr. It's not meant to be endearing, but it might just be disarming.

"I'm only in the know inasmuch as I live in Metropolis. Listen, I did some research after I was attacked in Gotham, and I found a group of people I wanted to help out. Took me a while, you know, to get in touch with Red Robin. I had to do a whole bunch of things that are probably frowned upon by a few regulating telecommunications entities, let me tell you, but- I know a whole lot about Batman and Robin. They're /legends./ You can't /find/ 'em anywhere if you're looking... That's why you just gotta make 'em look for you. I'm something of a big name over in Metropolis. I can just walk into the police station, throw a few hundred grand around and get them to put the light out there."

All of her joviality fades, then, as she leans up against the wall. "Then I'll tell Batman that you guys sent me. That you're doing exactly what you're doing to get everyone back, safe. I can even do that /while/ I'm visiting to smooth over the gas leak in a building I was considering buying and rennovating into a new office for Starrware. You just tell me the message to pass along, and I'll pass it along, but if any of you guys go, then maybe... Maybe you don't get to come back and handle this yourselves. I wouldn't blame you if you think that you ought to- certainly, this looks really insane, and I just /got/ here, but he can't detain me." WRONG. "If he thinks that this is suddenly a job for, I dunno, the Justice League or something, if that's what you want to do, I'm down for that, normally we just have Superman lift something, or punch a guy. But if you want to handle it yourselves, I think the best way to do that is to send the person he can't stop or hurt, because I'm surrounded by police and not part of your circle."

There's so much of that that is patently incorrect, but luckily, the incorrectness isn't particularly blatant. She's six-foot-three and can /literally/ move the Earth, but confronting Bruce is a thought that sends her right back to when her onesie was blue and had an S on it and Kal was telling her this guy was the scary guy.

"If nothing else," she pauses, nodding to Jon, "Thanks, uh, Horus-Man," another pause, back to Gabby, "If nothing else, you guys need, /need,/ to be working on recovery and hitting back harder. I'm here to drop off equipment, make... A whole lot of repairs, now, and leave the punching to the people who can do the punching. You don't have time and spare attention to try and hold off Batman, but I do, and if I tell him not to get involved, if you /want/ me to tell him not to get involved, or that you'll reach out if you want him involved, his hands are tied, what's he going to do?"

He's going to tell Kal and she's gonna get a talking to is what.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will do a quick patch job on the roof it is mostly plywood and spraypaint but it will at least keep pigeons and blimps from looking into the secret base. He then searches the base till he comes to the room with everyone in the medlab. "How did you get everyone in here so quick and they get away so quick? " He then notices the clock and says "Dang it." As he realized he must have lost some time. "Ok, what do you guys know so far?" He looks around them, and says "I was here, it was agents from NOWHERE, I got here right after it happend, Somehow a group of them, were here and the pool table was blown up. There was Thunder, Lightning, Dr. Trmplar, some girl called Brighteyes, a woman who was all plastic manish, a guy with claws, someone who controlled winds, and a fake Superboy named Match. He was like SB+. He was paler, think he was a NOWHERE clone, but he seemed to have SB's power, and Superspeed too, I was faster than him but not a lot. " He looks around and says "Red Robin, Balm, X, were all here as well, as these two." He motions towards the girls. "I had to run, but seems I ran a bit father than I was trying to."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney listens to Karen with a stoic expression. Other than her eyes glazing over at the continued conversation trying to convince her that Karen isn't somehow in-the-know as she suspects. Finally she puts a hand up. "Phones exist, Miss Starr. 'Taking time to find him' isn't an issue. Also... I'm not suspicious of your intentions. You got this far, you're obviously here to help. I'm just asking you how to do it. I said I wasn't going to pry and that means I'm also not looking for an excuse or explanation." A tip of her head is given to Jon along with a flashed smile at his addition. "Thanks, Arc."

"M'gann, we need to shore up the building to keep the Roost itself from being discovered. I'm... Uh. Temporarily in charge of the Roost itself it seems because my code was used to break the lockdown." Here she pauses, obviously conflicted. Miss Martian had WAY more seniority than her. So did Impulse. Was she stepping on toes right now? The worry flits through her mind, niggling at the back along with worries for her teammates and sister. Beyond that? A slow roiling rage that she wanted to lash out at someone with. It was kept well in check though through much practice. Unlike the rest of her family she had the temper in check.

"You're more familiar with the Outsider resources. Do we have a secondary base or safehouse? We'll need to retreat there after I get down to the Core. Gonna get the camera feeds of the issue, put out any immediate fires as it were, and then we're locking up and booking it out of here." A pause before she adds, "Red Robin, X-23, and Balm have been taken by-- We'll figure out who. Miss Starr here was arriving to deliver upgrads to Red Robin it seems. Anyway, I..." God could she just have a minute? Another tug is given to her quickly made bun of hair ensuring it's snug. "I'm going to the Core. Miss Starr, please have your drones secure the building damag as much as possible and see about hiding any obvious entrances to the lower levels in the process. Thank you. Miss Martian, Archivist, Impulse. Please protect things until we're ready to lock up and go. I'll get the info we need from the Core systems, and THEN we'll see about how to get the information to Batman. But we're still moving on our own with or without him after that."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann's expression becomes annoyed as the argument about who will contact Batman and how continues. "Batman is already aware." She finally says, not elaborating how. Though there is a non-zero chance she contacted him telepathically while everyone was discussing it.

She then nods to Gabby, "There are places we can go. BioShip is waiting on the roof when everyone is ready. I am currently reinforcing the building telekinetically, so you don't need to worry for the time being, but we shouldn't stay long." She doesn't want to stay long, there is a look in the young Martian's eyes that she'd really like to do some terrible things to NOWHERE and its agents.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
Pixie's burn and blisters were much easier to heal, so that's done, and the Archivist grabs his staff and shakes it back down to the baton-size. He tucks it away at his side again. "It's not 'Horus-Man,'" he says. "I'm the Archivist. I serve Thoth and Ma'at. Horus is not involved in the weighing of the heart in the Duat, where I... am. Particularly, in ensuring that those who do not die in the normal course of matters have their souls judged." Well, then.

"Miss Martian, Impulse, can you help me with Bluebird and Pixie, until they wake? And then, wherever we're going, I'll prep it for incoming wounded." He's thinking about all the blood. They're going to need medical attention. He's already picking up Bluebird, since he's certain she won't wake for a little while longer.

Karen Starr has posed:
Karen leans in and down a moment, speaking to Gabby as directly as she can. "Listen, I don't know any more than your average person about how to talk to Batman, and I'm really, really trying to keep my cool, or else Horus-Man is going to clock me over the head with his staff of judgment. This is the ONE thing I can do if I try hard enough to that will /help./" It's, honestly, a plea that comes from the heart.

Ain't nobody need a talking to from Clark and Bruce.

Karen takes that moment, pulling up from Gabby, and looking to M'gann. "Oh, well, that works I suppose. Didn't know you had his, uh, Brain Number. Do brains have numbers or is there another esoteric concept you use to reach out and touch somebody, you know, brainally?" Her attention shifts to Jon, and she gives a genuine salute.

"You got it, Archivist. Anyway, I need to get the real construction bots here. I need clearance to start repairing the building and the number of bots was enough for a room. For a building I have to get a few more, which means a few hours automated drive to Metropolis and a few hours back. I also need clearance into the building so that I can work on it."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and will tell Karen the places he fixed "I tacked up temp fixes, but won't hold up to major checking just enough to keep accidental finding." He will name off a few places where they might be able to go. He does move to help with the injured people and says "We will need all SB and Rob's files on NOWHERE. I think I have read all of them but back up will help. If you know of anyone who can track on a trandimensional level it might help, most of NOWHERE bases are set up such."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney blinks a single time, slowly. "... Did you seriously just crouch down to talk to me?" Forget trying to be stoic and calm. This was sheer astonishment at Karen. Before she can think of saying anything else though, M'Gann speaks up about contacting Batman earning a quick, thankful nod and a rush of gratefulness sent the telepaths way. "Perfect. We've been wasting enough time here." A step to the side is taken to stride around Karen heading for the door. "I think I've been too polite and not clear enough. You're not getting access to anything Miss Starr, outside of the exterior building itself. NO ONE is getting access to the base once I lock up behind us. It's going into lock down again." And then she's gone through the door.

Tim Drake has posed:
With M'gann's interjection, there's little left to discuss in regards to Batman. Of course everyone is functioning under the belief that the various systems that alerted the team wouldn't have also alerted the Dark Knight himself, but... well.

    Things to be discovered later.

What is important now, though, is sticking to the plan. Gabby's already making headway, with the help of Karen's drones, Bart's quick covering of the exposed areas of the building, and M'gann delaying emergency services. The story about a gas leak will satisfy them once they do arrive. Reinforcing the external building where it was damaged is all that's needed to avoid anyone discovering what the renovated theater in Chelsea is really hiding beneath it's facade.

    Now, onto the Core.

It's a long trip down the stairs, all the way to the very bottom of the Roost. The core room is within the foundations, the most secure place in the entire building. It's practically a vault, and it takes several seconds after Gabby has submitted her codes and her biometrics have been scanned before the door opens. Inside...

Well, probably nobody is expecting the Beast to run out, right between someone's legs. Phoebe's new pup Idu is there too, as is Mr. Murder Mittens, who is perched atop one of the server cabinets, hissing. He is not happy. Even Bart's snails are there, relocated into small terrariums in a tidy stack. Several Bat-drones are docked in the ceiling around a now-sealed vent, apparently where the animals were transported through to safety.

Tim does think of the details, after all.

As the team enters, a faint whirring noise emits from one of the server towers, and after a moment of that a portable drive is ejected, a light blinking to indicate it should be retrieved.

Meanwhile, video feed of the Rec Room during the attack plays on the monitors. The system has already processed the footage, highlighting images of the various N.O.W.H.E.R.E. intruders. Among them, the Conner lookalike is given special prominence. As well as what he looks like once the disguise was removed.

But all of that? To be dealt with later. Right now, they have two dogs, a cat, and several snails, as well as two unconscious Outsiders, to get up onto the Bioship. Once that's done and Gabby gives the word, the system begins to shut down.

Soon enough, all is dark and quiet. The Outsiders have flown the Roost...

    ...for now.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
The Archivist raises his brows behind his mask as he goes past Karen, carrying Bluebird. "Ahh... tip from a parent, on dealing with teenagers--treat them with the same respect you would an adult, at all times, unless they've actually done something to warrant otherwise. They'll be grateful, and they /are/ more capable than most adults give them credit for."
