Profile
Doreen Green, AkA Squirrel Girl, is an internet personality and super hero currently attending college at Empire State University. She broadcast her involvement in the battle of New York against Frost Giants and Dark Elves all over Youtube and has since continued to do so. She also took part in the Alien Invasion to a lesser degree, and is openly known as a Super Hero with little inclination (or ability with her tail) to hide that fact.
Timeline
Timeline:
*2000 - Doreen Green is born to two loving parents in the Canadian north. With her prehensile tail and odd squirrel like abilities, she is suspected of being a mutant, during a time where such folks were looked upon quite unfavorably, and thus hid away in seclusion.
*2004 - After learning to walk, the full bredth of Doreen's abilities become more apparent. She's faster than other children, able to scale structures with ease, and rather agile.. but most importantly she begins to communicate with squirrels. Sometimes chittering at them in Squirrelese and sometimes not..
*2006 - Seeking help with raising their special child, Dorian and Maureen seek out authorities within the mutant community who determine, through testing, that the abilities Doreen exibits are not specifically mutantions, but some other form of gene alteration. She's officially labeled a mutate.
*2011 - Doreen is sent to learn how to use her abilities and attains duel citizenship between Canada and the United States. Not many people are willing to take on students, but someone did... someone out there who wished for their name to remain out of official documentations... There has to be someone. She learned, that's what's important.
*2012 - Twelve year old Doreen adopts the name Squirrel Girl after she, indirectly anyways, assists with the battle against the Alien Alliance. Her role is minor. Super minor. Some squirrels attack some aliens. It was mostly covered on twitter and youtube. Very cute stuff.
*2018 - Squirrel Girl features a littl emore heavily in the battle against Loki. No specifically /with/ the Avengers, though fat chance telling her otherwise, she is none the less involved in the fighting. Using her agility, fighting abilities, and squirrels to help defend earth from all them coocoo crazy giants and dark elves. Once again, she's covered extensively on Youtube... this time because she recorded it herself and started a web-series titled: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, which documented several altercations in which she was involved... none of the listed individuals are of any real note, but young audiences eat it all up.

Personality
Goofy:
Quite possibly along the same lines as her positive outlook is her off kilter view of basically everything. She's not always making a joke, but she's always trying to. Sometimes just to make people laugh during the darkest of times and sometimes to make herself laugh when fear tries to take root. She's a goofball and it doesn't always win her the respect of her peers. They love having her around, probably, but rarely take her very seriously. Which makes her crave their attention more, which makes her act even more goofy, so it's all a vicious cycle.
Opportunistic:
For some people this manifests as taking advantage of under previlaged peoples, Doreen rather uses her situation to profit. She knows that she's young, humorous, and appeals to young kids because of her abilities with squirrels, so she'll record some (if not all) of her fights to post onto Youtube. Further, she knows that she's often underestimated and has learned to capitalize on that fact during several battles where her stature and relative unknown name got her laughed at... at least until she popped their ego bubble! She's the positive opportunistic goofball Gotham/New York/Metropolis deserves.
Positive:
Doreen Green is a whole lot of things, but few people wouldn't agree that she's got a positivity that borders on infecteous. She tries to see the very best in every situation, even when it's world ending and life threatening, there's a glimmer of hope further down the road if people stay the course. It can come off as naivete, brought on by her sheltered upbringing, but rarely has she been wrong in her optimism once all the cards were down.

Powers
Buck Teefs:
Between Doreen's increased strength and her two elongated front teefs, she's able to bite through just about anything... with exceptions, obviously.. but she's able to crack a nut for sure.. or chew through thick ropes, wood, or just about any naturally occuring substance short of metals, diamonds, or coral. So mostly wood and wood based substances.
Peripheral Vision:
Doreen's peripheral vision is supurb and she can see things out of the corner of her eyes as if they were directly infront of her. It makes her difficult to sneak up on, but is also ties into her quick reflexes by alerting her to dangers others might not have noticed. She claims she has night vision too, but in reality she doesn't. She uses mundane tech to achieve this and writes it off as an ability.
Prehensile Tail:
A big bushy prehensile tail is impossible for Doreen to hide, but it's not just cosmetic. It actually surfaces a distinct purpose in her balance and agility, nevermind being used as a close quarters weapon in a pinch. It flicks from side to side as she runs along surfaces to adjust her footing, it waves quickly when she leaps to add verticle distance, and the bone inside hurts like heck when she slaps it against someones leg.
It also knocks stuff off table sand makes it hard to find comfortable clothes.
Squirrel Agility:
Genetics being what they are, part of Doreen's connection with squirrels is a duplication of their innate agility. She can move quickly, at least in short bursts, but this doesn't translate to enhanced speed persay. Her reflexes are quick, however, scale impossible angles, and balance on thin surfaces with relative ease.
Squirrel Strength?:
Okay, this one is kind of hard to explain. It just is what it is. She's strong. Strong enough to lift things twice her size, at least, but she's got no real metric for it yet. Right now it makes her a surprisingly versatile combatant, but leans heavily into her ability to leap long distances ala a squirrel through the innate strength in her legs and core muscles.
But she can lift stuff twice her own size. And under extreme stress, even larger. Upwards of a three or four hundred pounds depending on size of object and ability to manipulate it due to shape.
Squirrels Everywhere:
Doreen's namesake comes from her ability to commmunicate with and control squirrels. Some of them help her because they like her, some of them make regular guest appearances with her on multiple missions, and some are just the foot soldiers of the Nuts and Boots Army! A full run-down on regulars will come later.
She is able to speak to squirrels and understand them and they can understand her. Whether she speaks squirrelese or english, they seem to comprehend her, so it has been suggested she's communicating telepathically, though no studies have been conducted. She can, at least in theory, summon squirrels, but never more than there are in an area. And they may as well just be drawn to her presence because of her big bushy prehensile tail and squirrel like teeth.
Skills
Computer Science:
So she's no Oracle, but Doreen knows her way around a computer. She can hack them, program them, and generally use them as designers intended. She can upgrade them, repair them, and generally mess around with the natural order of computers. She's actually in school for it too! So that's a plus!
Fighting:
Who trained her to fight is the subject of great debate, but the fact is she can. Not at the level of some, obviously, but she combines all of her various abilities into something unique and difficult to stand against by most... between squirrels attacking from every angle, the surprise strength and quickness of her attacks, and general acrobatic style? She's pretty impressive for a tiny girl.
Leadership:
Doreen might be goofy, but she's sharp and picks up on things pretty quickly. Some would call that a leadership quality, but she can likewise find the silver lining in every dark corner.. It might not seem like leadership, since few people actually take her serious enough to say they're following her, but it is.. She's honed her positivity into an ability. The art of being hopeful when all seems lost? It's a talent.

Friends!:
A lot of people know of Doreen, and some of them will even acknowledge that. Regardless, she do have some friends that she can call on. Which is usually random and rare, but they exist and thus should be mentioned.
Gear:
Doreen has lots of gear, like her costume, which is just regular ol costumy.. but she carries climbing claws which can be used for combat as well. And a pair of goggles that have night-vision built into them. Her bomber jacket has lining hooks which she can attach to her belt to create a webbing between her arms which allows short gliding like a flying squirrel. Otherwise... just regular superhero stuff.
Nuts and Boots Army:
Generally this is the rank and file of squirrels that accompany Doreen at any given time, but it is also the name for her broadcasts and fan base. So it's multi-tiered. The generals of this army is Tippy-Toe, Monkey Joe, and Gadget-Gregg who have their own little divisions that they 'command'.. it's really indepth and weird.
Patreon:
Most, if not all, of Doreen's financing comes from lucrative internet presence with funding through Patreon and personal appearances. She is completely shameless, filming every fight or encounter and posting them to one web based viewing platform or another: Usually Twitter and Youtube. She does life video blogs on various topics from the state of Super Heroes in America, to current events, with frequent guest appearances by her Squirrels: Tippy-Toe and Monkey Joe.
She doesn't interview anyone though.
This is purely a marketing and branding venture.
It lets her live comfortably at a young age and generally has a following of teens and young adults who watch her on a semi-regular basis. The Nuts and Boots Army aren't all squirrels, dontchaknow.
Squirrels!!!:
Aside from the squirrels who come when she calls, a few have become permanent fixtures.
The Generals of her Nuts and Boots Army:
Tippy-Toe: Tippy Toe is a distinctly female squirrel with a bright pink bow worn around her neck to distinguish her from the others and is rarely not with Doreen. The two clearly share a symmpathic bond that goes deeper than her general control of squirrels and Tippy acts as more of a liason to the others in matters of warfare. She is Secretary Squirrel of War.
Monkey Joe: In truth, Monkey Joe is a replacement for an earlier Monkey Joe who was lost in the battle of New York. He wears a bow-tie, and occationally a tiny little top-hat, and is more of an entertainer than his previous namesake. He's often with Doreen as well, but more often accompanies her when she's interacting with fans or civilians on her web broadcasts. He is the Secretary Squirrel of Information.
Gadget-Gregg: Gadget Gregg is ... interesting. He presents as a lot more intelligent than other squirrels and can manipulate machines and computers with relative (if rudamentary) ease. Usually by smacking them with tools. He has a pair of bright goggles to distinguish him... The Secretary of Technology.
University!:
Doreen is enrolled at Empire Statue University in the Computer Science department. She has access to ... the library, the computer science lab, and homework. Plus she lives in the Dorms! Where there is high speed internets for her webshow! And a roommate who's name is... Bethany. Beth is a Goth and does not like Doreen's general positive demeanor and may one day become her arch enemy.

Weaknesses
Enemies:
There's a bunch of enemies she's made by just doing things... Some of them know who they are and needn't be named just incase later on they decide not to be her enemies, but generally anyone who wants to assume Squirrel Girl has upset their applecart can! Be her enemy! She's fun!
Personality:
Seriously, not everyone is onboard with the Squirrel Train. Some people find her to be kind of annoying and avoid interacting with her, which is unfair of them, but what can you do? Heck, when /staff/ tell you in your approval that your character isn't always liked? You gotta put that as a flaw.
Squirrels:
Doreen's greatest strength is also her greatest weakness. She shares an empathic bond with her squirrels and when one of them is injured, she has a tendancy to take it pretty hard. Nevermind that she's putting these creatures into harms way, she actually likes them.. they've been her companions when nobody else was... So she can get a little emotional over their harm.

It was literally raining pizzas! The robber himself was ranting about Angelo's Pizza until he slipped and fell on a pizza and twisted his ankle in a sewer grate. Doreen and Harley did their best to instill remorse in the guy and hope that he will change his ways after his jail time. Time will tell! The day is saved! |

Well it was a huge success other than the VERY obviously fake Doc Oc imposter in a poorly made, paper machet and one piece spandex suit, with dime store goggles trying to rob the money box.. his brief and failed heist ended after he lost his temper and punched Drax with all of his might... right in the stomach. With a very broken hand, the would-be criminal cried, and wept all the way to the hospital! Kamala Khan's donated sweets are also a huge hit! It was a good day and the money will reach the heroes who need it! |
