Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
IT. IS. SCIENCE FAIR TIME!

The Happy Harbor High School Science Fair has been something that has been a staple for the school since it opened. It allowed the teens to exercise their imaginations while inviting others from around the state to also show off what they could do. In the end, it was a good time.

This year there was a College level to the science fair that was also being used since Happy Harbor Community College was now part of the Happy Harbor school chain.

Morrigan is here...but the Dean looks like she went through a blender. She's been off talking to Tyler, Declan and Delia while keeping a low profile given her color is still bad. Being possessed by ancient anger spirits it not the best trip.

Tables and floor space have been sectioned off for students that have entered and there is the public that has come to see things as well as judges that have been going around as well.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike is here neither as a participant or a judge. But he is here nonetheless. By this point it is tradition. Each year, participants bring in various projects and each year there's a different type of event causing for the event to be caused short.

Now, this is neither a confirmation or denial of there being a pool going on as to what type of 'disaster' it will be this year but-

Well...

If the sprinklers go off today, he won't be entirely mad...

Assuming he's awake for it. Right now Mike looks tired and is sort of standing, sort of leaning against a support beam and sort of dozing.

Huh. Musicians really can sleep anywhere.

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
The work of a lifetime! (or several, many, LONG months). But finally given shape, form, presentation!

And not stomped into flat paste by giant attacking Nazi robots.

Potted flax plants, common linseed, simple flowers potted and set next to a non-professionally kitted out box-frame filled with the odd grey strand-strings of fluffy material, packed together in a firm whole. The notecards hastily scribbled and attached: "Flax plant: Linum usitatissimum, of the family Linaceae. Processed and Developed as part of the Spaceborne Heat Infrared Neutralizing Operational Biological Installation: Project SHINOBI."

Belinda Gutierrez, dressed in her best Sunday clothes, stands beside the presentation, looking unbelievably pleased with herself. At last!

The last, briefly added in marker: "Do not apply water".

Lucius Fox has posed:
Lucius Fox comes in dressed in suit with his hand is resting on his cane slowly he makes his way around looking in those glasses of his with look of trying to find something truly amazing. His badge from Wayne tech, reading Lucius Fox. With each step and he stops to examine each thing on his way, taking out a pen slowly to note on a clipboard things about it, he is seeking something it seems but what that is will not be disclosed, till the paperwork is in of course. He looks behind him at a youth that is tagging along. "Mr. Wayne, do keep up we have much to see today. This is not a playground or place to linger." There is a stern tone, but under it all it is almost fatherly, loving but there is little time for the man to slow down yet. So much to see!

Damian Wayne has posed:
Sometimes a little outreach is necessary and that's what puts Damian Wayne in Happy Harbor, visiting the high school gymnasium's annual Science Fair. He's dressed in a neatly tailored suit, designer shoes shined, and his hair slicked just-so to create the impression that one typically has of a billionaire's son. He wanders into the section of the gymnasium floor that's been cordoned off for the general public with a stoic expression, but watchful bright green eyes. While he's not there as a representative of his father, it's entirely possible that what he notices might end up mentioned to the elder Wayne.

He's in the company of none other than Mr. Lucius Fox and it seems that the Wayne heir is following along the elder Wayne Enterprises employee, rather than the other way around. The chiding that he receives earns a glance out of Damian, along with an expression that seems as though the young Wayne is trying his best not to smile, "I'll keep up, Mr. Fox, you needn't worry about that. Are we keeping our eyes peeled for anything in particular? Or is this a matter of 'wait and see'?" The younger Wayne asks inquisitively.

Jaime Reyes has posed:
Jaime Reyes is hanging around. Or just kind of passing through. There could be any number of reasons why he's decided to come through Happy Harbor and take a gander through the gym of science and splendor. He's not exactly making a spectacle or anything of himself, just rocking jeans and a distinctively blue hoodie, he's just wandering through to see exactly what these smart types have come up with. Science can be fun. Especially when someone else is doing it.

Full disclosure, he also just wants to see if anyone actually makes volcanos at these things or if that's just on tv?

As he makes his first lap, Khaji Da is in his head pointing out the inaccuracies and potential flaws in everything Jaime looks at. Because of course she would! Jaime's response is often the rolling of his eyes. Which may not be the best look to give when looking at somebody's project.

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler certainly doesn't /look/ as bad as Morrigan, at least. He's still up, and about, smiling at students as he walks by and commenting on the various displays up. But it wasn't hard to catch the dark rings under his eyes, or the few times he apologizes, and asks a student to explain something again. The way he takes a moment from the patrol to close his eyes, rub the bridge of his nose, and take a pull from a rather large tumbler of coffee. It's not as if they can choose to skip something this important.

Belinda gets a bit of a nod as he walks by, before he stops and takes another look at what she has set up. "Once again, looking excellent, and well researched. Though I feel like a good amount of it might have been trying to come up with a good acronym. Nothing wrong with a /bit/ of pride, but..." He says, trailing off as he adjust his glasses to look at the data available. "...But one of the issues is it can be a bit obfuscating. Care to go over results?"

A quick look around the room, before he's back on Belinda. Just something to note where people were. Who could miss Wayne Industries taking a bit of a patrol around. Corporate head hunting at colleges used to not get a frown from him, but enough time in the public sector had given him a bit of a natural distrust of the concept. At least Damien was there to keep him in line.

Jane Roe has posed:
Not everybody attending the Science Faire is students or jurors. Some might be seeking for people to sponsor in college, others might seek employees. And yet again others? They are just there to see what people have to show. And then there's those that just are snarky and want to see the fails and disasters. Who's Jane part of? Well, not the Hydra Robot fighters. No, Jane is just there with a hand in the pocket, not even eying the exhibits really. She's looking for network traffic...

In with a mischivious smile swaps a jock's fime names. What used to be his presentation about how cool steroids are now references to his secret folders, earning him the cane from an outraged christian grandmother because he showed corrupting images. And an F from his science teacher. Why do you secure your network again?

Hackers. Like Jane have their own fun. Do not add water? Don't give someone ideas, they might use it...

Lucius Fox has posed:
Lucius Fox nods slowly towards Damien with a little chuckle and a wink at the boy. "Oh dearest, Mr. Wayne if I told you would not enjoy it as much. So we will go with that second option, you will know it when you see it." With that he moves towards Belinda to examine it slowly, his eyes moving over it all with a little chuckle. "Project SHINOBI?" His voice is tests out the word, as he looks over at the notecards, taking it all in thinking on for a long time. "It is a fine idea, but what is the purpose?"

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb had something big planned for this Science Fair. He had even asked for some leeway regarding the space for his project. And it's there. Just...

He's nowhere on sight.

But then, the outside doors open, and a vehicle enters, making a beeline for Caleb's spot. This vehicle has a futuristic look - a quadricycle, cylindrical in shape with the wheels placed in a losangular pattern, but the top is lifted open to provide a screen and protection against wind. And, driving this vehicle, is a person with a helmet, who leans back and forth or to the sides in order to drive it - no wheel; and it adapts accordingly to the movements of his body.

When he sits, the vehicle comes to a halt in the place alloted for the young man.

The person pulls out the helmet, and it's revealed to be Caleb.

"Greetings", he looks at the people that're starting to or are already gathered around.

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda beams at Mr. Stadler. Also, does not squee at the opportunity to explain! Too much.

"Muy pequeno stretch, Professor," she replies, hands folded firmly behind her back. She gestures to the simple display, speaking in very carefully enunciated and speech'd English.

"The idea grew from the concept of natural insulation," she explains, pointing to the small pottery of plants. "This, these are very common plants that grow very easily on Earth, and probably be grown in a space environment as well. At present, space insulators preserve heat and protect against certain radiation; with proper processing, a crew of personnel already in space could use these to perform emergency repairs, should their original station's interior covers be compromised or damaged in some way."

Her hands moves towards the box, the stringy substance inside. "There are better ways, I am certain, but these were cut up with shears, a cheese grater, a shredding machine, and--" She pauses, blushing briefly. "...well, many simple ways. I think there are specially-designed machines that make much better cuttings than seens here. SHINO--er, the biological insulation provides good to excellent protection, in theory, and can be made in advance. The growing plants can be stored, or used to craft bandages, and provide oxygen as part of a life support system. Also, en peor de---in worst case, you could take just the plants by themselves, lace them together. Worse insulator in this case, but workable as a very temporary repair."

She bites her lip, grimacing finally. "However, water is the first means of helping them bind together. Add more, and the whole thing can... slump. Fall over. Collapse. Though that is in gravity; in space, in free fall, this problem might not exist. It requires future development and field testing."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's drinking from a straw given her lip is still split in a few places, but she wasn't cancelling this. "SHIELD issues." she tells Tyler. The three college students were more than aware of some of the things at the school over the years. She does raise her drink to Richard when he passes by, "Sir you have had an eventful work." she comments.

Then she tells something to the Trio of Terror and starts to do the rounds. Making sure that everyone is doing alright.

She's also making sure there are no dog sized Ants to make her cry later. The vision of someone assaulting one of her students though makes her appear in the space next to the old woman suddenly, she reaches out to block the second cane strike with a stitched up hand, "Get. Out. Or you're going to jail for assault." is the agitated tone. She then turns back to the student, "Shut it down now." the Irish woman states in a calm tone. "Apologies on that everyone, technical difficulties." she tells anyone else who was offended.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Hearing the uttered protests of the student and the swatting sounds, Mike's eyes open as he starts moving in the direction the sound of conflict is in. Unfortunately it does lead to him missing the entrance of the tron-cycle. By the time he gets to the display, there was the sense to turn off the display screen at least. He ends up positioning himself between the grandparent and the student, waiting for cooler heads to prevail.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian can be found moving alongside the elder Lucius Fox, but he doesn't lurk in his shadow, nor charge ahead. He stays abreast of the Wayne Enterprises employee and the little wink that's cast his way earns an amused, albeit quite soft, expression in return, "Very well. Keep your secrets," he answers back with a bit of good natured playfulness. As the pair approach one of the display tables and the note cards, Damian's attention shifts from the project details and back to Lucius. It seems that the young Wayne heir is watching and learning from Lucius to some extent, placing great value and regard to the opinion Lucius.

The question of the purpose of Project SHINOBI results in Damian looking expectantly back toward Belinda. While she begins to offer her explanation, Damian adopts a more comfortable position to stand and his hands slip together. He interlaces his fingers for a moment, but realizing he's done so, just as promptly slips them apart and permits his hands to lower back to his sides. He doesn't speak nor interrupt, but instead listens and invests his attention into the offered explanation.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz walks in in his teacher form, wanting to support the school and looking over the exhibits before wanding around; nodding to those he knows, smiling relaxedly.

Lucius Fox has posed:
Lucius Fox looks over from the display watching the older woman and the kid, and now this new teacher with a frown. His eyes move back to Belinda with a dipping of his head. "That is a lovely find, that is good it will make the world a better place it seems, looking between Michael and the Morrigan out of his side profile. But for now he listens to learn about these plants. "That is lovely, there is a new thing I'm working on that might be very useful with, do you mind speaking with me a bit later?" He produces a card slowly he offers it towards Belinda. "We are working on a new armor for the troops and the officers of Gotham."

He turns to look at the cycle, nodding at Caleb with a little wave of his fingers. But than her turns back waiting to see if the card is taken. He looks over at Richard with a dipping of his head in respect. That card is simple black with just his name and his position, and his office number in the center of it.

Jane Roe has posed:
A little Chaos here, a little error there... and the grandmother demanding that the sprot student with no security on his laptop be thrown from school are left in the wake of Jane as she eyes other exhibits. The cycle earns at least a nod from the young woman in the suzuki jacket, but so far... only the do not add water was really enticing....

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb is about to prepare his exhibit, but he's cut short with the altercation between old woman and young man.

He notices Lucius, nodding, "Mr. Fox, glad to see you!" And to Damian, "Damian... How's it going?"

But his attention returns to the chaos, "Uhh... What'd I miss?" He looks around for fires that broke out nearby...

Jaime Reyes has posed:
Jaime continues to make the rounds after offering some 'quiet' apologies to anyone that may have thought he was rolling his eyes at their project. He's trying very hard to not be in the way or cause any sort of ruckus. Especially considering there may be a bit of a conflict going on over in a different part of the gym. He just kind of offers a humble and apologetic smile at anyone he locks eyes with too long, not even sure if he should be here right now.

When he comes upon some of the more interactive science fair projects, Jaime very much tries his best to not break anything. Or ruin anyone's project. When asked to throw a dart at a thing he hits it almost too well but remains humble in his post throw celebration.

Eyes still searching for that volcano in a science fair haystack...

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler, of course, has to turn to look at the sudden opening of the doors themselves, the way the vehicle wheels in... well. Rather impressive, to say the least. Personnel convenience, obviously, but... certainly something for those looking to jet setting about. But he does have to Belinda. It was... heartening to see students looking to apply their sciences in ways that would benefit mankind.

"Rather impressive work, Ms. Gutierrez. With some interesting applications. I'm not a botanist, as I've said before, but I do know something about constrained supply chains, and the ability to manufacture something like this simply, without the use of many chemicals, from a process that seems to similar to other textiles like cotton, seems like it would have some excellent applications. And I see I'm not the only one noticing it." He says.

The smile on his face falls a bit. It's clear he wants to say more, and that it might be a little more in the terms of... constructive criticism. But he knew better than to do it in front of the representative of a multinational that was looking to put her on the map.

There was other chaos he noticed, of course, the stern words of Morrigan from a few stalls away and the slight hubub flickered over with concern. Morrigan had it in hand, and he had to let it lie; She'd been through a lot as well, and it felt like they were both stretched a bit too thin.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Being positioned between the student and the harpy grandmother, Mike is very much aware of the volume in which the protests are being made. As for the general argument, he's picked up enough hints to come to a conclusion. However he was tired enough to voice them.

"What kind of Christian woman does not understand the concept of forgiveness?" He asks, staring directly at the Grandma, giving a blatant stare that quite clearly implies that she is the Christian woman he speaks of. "I do think you lost your chance to be casting stones."

Damian Wayne has posed:
The ensuing chaos between elderly woman and presenter seems to be expertly ignored by the young Wayne. As the discussion between Lucius and Belinda seem to be drawing nearer to a close, Damian's attention begins to drift away and toward the cycle that Caleb is presenting. The greeting earns a slight nod, along with a greeting spoken in return, "I'm doing well enough. How're you, Caleb?"

He shifts his footing and a few steps later, begins to draw closer to Caleb's project and display. For a brief moment his bright green eyes slip and sway, drifting along the curves of the small vehicle. After a moment of thoughtful consideration, Damian's gaze flicks back toward Caleb and a question is asked as his hands slip forward to clasp together once more, "What sort of propulsion does it use?"

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda nods gratefully to Mr. Fox, accepting the card with (barely) contained joy. "Si, yes, thank you sir," she beings, glancing down at the dark card--

Focusing. Staring.

"I-- Ah--" she begins, eyes widening as she opens her mouth, closes it again with a firm click. "I am still learning, sir," she begins again, rallying quickly as the hint of a blush begins, growing swiftly towards her cheeks. Damien alongside gets a MUCH closer look now, even as he steps away; if anything, the blush swells on her cheeks, threatening to swarm down to her neckline and up to her brow. "But muchas gracias, thank you very much."

Doing her subtle best not to run behind her display tables (especially in front of everyone!), she instead sets the card down to the side of the display, plaintive and plain but in clear view. Subtle advertisement of (maybe) approval!

"Thank you, Mr. Stadler," she adds, beaming with pleasure. "I hope it is useful one day!" She knows the gentle criticism is inbound, but it is expected; a project in the works! At least it was not a baking soda volcano.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz walks up to the exhibit that Belinda is showing and nods, approvingly. He looks at the card and looks at her reaction, and smiles though he looks at the presentation and nods. Its interesting and he isnt a judge, but that doesnt mean he cant influence the judges; but wants to see the whole thing of course.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"You know what, Jesus has already risen for the year, I don't have to be nice on this day." Morrigan states as she finishes helping the student get his tech turned off. She then raises her hand to wave over security, "Escort her out, if she gives you any issues turn her over to the police. We don't beat students for mistakes here." she states. "Thank you, Mike." she tells Michael.

Then she's off to put out the next fire, "I'd take ants over this." she whispers to herself.

Lucius Fox has posed:
Lucius Fox nods slowly with a little chuckle watching Belinda throwing up a little thumbs up with a wink before he starts towards the car. "Good day to you, Mr Dykstra. I see oyu brought out the big guns, it is lovely." He nods at Damien and than back at Caleb. "You two already know each other that is good, that is very good." His voice is friendly, as he looks over at it now with a little chuckle. His eyes move towards the teachers and that older woman with a little sigh of displeasure. "There was a time, but we all advance if we are wise." His voice is calls out towards the older woman, with a shake of his head.

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler keeps smiling, and it's a real one, to be honest. "That card's well earned." He says, after Lucius leaves to, hopefully, bestow more funding on Caleb's project, as well. "And it's important to open up a lot of doors. And I think you know where your weaknesses in the design lie already, so I don't have to mention to them too long. It certainly works for space; Mars and the moon have exceedingly dry environments, meaning you're not going to see a lot of water generating on the outside; and it's self regulating enough to keep any sort of condensation that the dehumidifiers don't get away from the walls. Bandages, though, are going to get wet with blood, as is body armor or textiles, and you /are/ going to see penetration from higher caliber firearms. It's a problem to be addressed, certainly; there are a number of hydrophobic compounds you could treat it with, but it may increase the complexity of a supply chain supporting it."

Morrigan had it well and hand. And Mike was here to help! As much as Mike could help in a situation of a Christian grandmother. Hopefully it wouldn't be one of those situations that required the police.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"No problem, Dr. MacIntyre." Mike responds to Mo. He glances briefly as she heads off. But Mike lingers near the student and the display for a bit longer. His attention shifts, watching the grandparent as security comes to escort her out.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz smiles thinly at the irony of the situation, but nods, "You are correct. Space is dry, and Mars is almost drier. The iron oxide in the soil tends to soak up the moisture at a phenomenal rate." He listens with curiosity at the body armor comments and reads the presentation. Its a field he doesnt know as well.

Jane Roe has posed:
Looking at stalls, Jane isn't actualyl caught by anything new, yawning as she gets herself a snack on the way out... and chuckling at the downfall of self proclaimed good grandmothers.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"It's electrical, actually", Caleb replies. "And I do mean, fully electric." He points out, "With the rising technologies nowadays for photovoltaic plastics and even silicone structures, I thought the same principle could be applied to a vehicle for personal transportation." He points out, showing a diagram of the panels on the projector, "They are shaped as the very chassi."

"But, now someone is going to say, 'oh, but bad weather wrecks it', right? I mean, no sunlight, no moving." He shakes his head. "Not exactly so. These panels are taking in even ambient light."

He still adds, "And, should all else fail...", he pulls the dynamo principle, but associated to mechanical system of gears, each connected to their own dynamo, "Kinetic recharging is also a possibility."

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda practically shimmers with joy as she nods to Mr. Stadler, the new teacher she hasn't had the chance to meet. (James? Jones? Jaminez?) "Things to be worked out," she agrees, sighing proudly as she gazes down on the card. Dark, rich-- one could almost be forgiven the tiny "awoo!" sound of pleasure she expresses. "To fix those things though, you would need a proper lab and development. Workable simulation of the things you would run into on Mars. Asteroid--" A pause as she points up. Asteroid M. "--it does not have the same considerations, so not so good a testing ground as one might wish." She sighs again, this time more wistfully as she turns back. "I cannot test atop the roof of the Candle. Grow plants, si, yes! Make complicated things? No, not so much."

Pause, glancing. "....he made a /car/?!" she manages to whisper, quivering. A car!

Jaime Reyes has posed:
Jaime stops. Right there. In the middle of the gym. Or, well, as middle of the gym as he can at this moment because maybe Khaji Da is making it happen or maybe there are lights aimed in that direction but there it is. The holy grail of science fairs...

The Volcano.

Jaime almost sheds a tear as he takes some steps in the general direction of the volcano. He probably should've tried to make one of these when he was doing science fairs but that time has long since passed. Instead, at this moment, he just reaches for his phone because he has to get a picture of this. And video when it erupts.

It's going to erupt, right?

... Right?

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz looks at the Volcano nervously and opens up his coat, and takes out a comfort Oreo, shuddering in glee and then putting the bag back before anyone can see his shame. Its surely just Baking Soda. He goes to Caleb's exhbit and makes a note of how to help Belinda get access to a Mars simulation lab...STARlabs maybe?

Lucius Fox has posed:
Lucius Fox stands there his hands behind his back as he nods at Caleb. "It is a lovely, you have done well." There is no giving of a card this time, turning now to move to the next stop on his journey. His eyes moving from experiment to experiment with a nod of his head at a few, taking down a few notes on his clipboard with that giant W on the back of it.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Kinetic recharging as a supplementary energy source?" Damian Wayne's lips bow, clearly considering the prospect and the utility of it. He nods along after a moment and his hands part, gesturing casually toward the small transport. "How long would it hold a charge? Both through standard charging and the kinetic charging?"

The question is offered to Caleb and Damian's bright green eyes drift away. He considers the cycle for a moment more and then with a small smile tugging at one corner of his mouth, his gaze shifts back to Lucius, "We do, Mr. Fox. Casual acquaintances," he explains with a small, closed-mouth smile.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan is watching the old woman being escorted out like a raven that you have offended. If she was still possessed that would have went far differently. She just got released earlier in the morning.

She makes a stop by Belinda's experiment and there is a smile, "Sorry I haven't been over yet." she tells the young woman. "You all have outdone yourselves this year." she admits. She catches sight of Damian and his friend and there is a note made to head that way next.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"As for the driving...?", Caleb still puts an in. "The body motion and balance." His next slide shows how computer-generated 'skeleton' activating multiple pressure sensors ellicits responses via computer programs for the vehicle to move forward or backward or to the sides - no code, though.

Someone's been catching up with his studies, for sure...

Michael Hannigan has posed:
When the threat of Granny is removed, Mike glances over in the direction of Caleb's bike, cracking a slight smile for the apparent amount of interest being brought their way. But, he'll have to look at it later. His attention shifts back to the student who just got hit. He'll be taking a bit of time to ask some follow up questions to what just happened...

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler looks over to Caleb as Belinda does, and nods. "I think it's more of a one main triwheel'd motor cycle, but yes, it seems that way. Sometimes you can scorunge the right amount of resources if you know where to look and talk to the right people." He says, before looking over to Belinda again, tapping the table next to the card itself; not on the card, as it wasn't his to touch. "This is something that might give you access to the laboratory space you need. I know you're still managing the Candle, but with... well." He says, pausing for a moment. "Ms. Crowe's current sabbatical, you may want to... redirect your efforts. There are worse companies to try for an internship for." He says, grimacing, "And this gets your foot in the door. We're... space is going to become... rather important, soon."

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda nods swiftly, eagerly, brimming over with joy. Mrs. Morrigan! Stealing an unobtrusive scenting again, because-- was dead? Still seems like a dark dream, Egypt so briefly ago -- She exhales in quiet pleasure, bowing her head with a nod.

"It was very important to her," she says of Ms. Crowe's departure, frowning softly. "She was very specific in that I could not come with her. I think she even disabled the chimes, the crystals to prevent... sneaking after." She bites her lip, glancing about carefully. "I am talking with Joshua, discussing what we shall do. I fully intend to pursue thinkgs, opportunities, but will not shirk responsibilities..."

She trails off, shrugging helplessly. Steeling herself-- rally!

"But still planning to visit La Luna!" she vows, grin returned in force. "And Mars, too. Interplanetary Tourist!"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to Belinda, she was indeed alive, but she did smell a lot like someone elses blood. Not really weird given she...yeah well that's a gory detail.

She gives a look to Richard as he speaks and there is a smile, "Ah, is Nettie still kicking around?" she asks. Then there is a look over the other tables and students, "Need to keep moving before I get stiff again, I'll be back around." she dips her head to them and heads off to go see what trouble others are getting into.

That leads her to Damian and Caleb. "This is a rather exciting creation, Mister Dykstra." she tells him. Then there is a look to Damian and a smile given to the young man, "Damian, always good to see you." she tells him.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Caleb, I think your idea's going somewhere and I hope that you keep pushing for further innovation. Good luck," Damian offers with a warm smile. He's just about to turn and slip away when Morrigan draws near, offering a greeting, Damian offers a polite nod of his head in return, "Doctor MacIntyre". He pauses for a beat while he considers one of his former instructors and then answers, "It's good to see you too. What was all of that about?" He asks simply and directly with a nod toward where the whole ordeal between student and granny had transpired.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz says, "A very interesting and promising design" he says of Caleb's exhisbit, "I am glad I am not judging this year; it saves me having to choose." He smiles and keeps eyeing the volcano but tries to not appear he is doing so."

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler looks over to to Morrigan for a moment as she mentions Nettie, opening his mouth a bit. "She's... well. Out on a bit of a journey. We're hoping to see her again."He says, nodding as she moves along., before looking back over to Belinda. "I... well. I would agree with that. There's journey's and adventures you should go on, but where she's going..." He looks... helpless, for a moment. "Lord. I really should carve out more time for a visit to the congregation, one of these days. Sometimes I lack the tools for it. But, for another time.

"I expect to see you on the moon one day." He says, changing the subject. "Perhaps soon. We have a lot of ships at the Starport right now..."

He looks off a bit. God, there were a lot of mine fields to tread through, and for a moment he just looks... tired. Before shaking his head. "In any case. Great work. I'm going to follow Morrigan with the patrol. I'm sure that vehicle's mobile; why not invite Mr. Dykstra to take a look?"

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda exhales slowly, letting drawn breath free. Better now, different things-- tangs that she has a name for now. Alcohol. Compounds. Blood.

"We should!" she says with certainty, grin fading briefly. She watches Ms. MacIntyre with care as she walks away, a frown of concern briefly clouding her features. "You should rest soon," she adds for Mr. Stadler's benefit, eyes tracing back. "You are all very tired." She points to some of the other adults, staffers, the gathered whole rallied to the importance of their cause. "Also, the new teacher?" She tilts her head towards mister... Juardo? Jimenez? Something.

"...he has cookies!" she whispers, sighing dreamily. "So many cookies."

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz looks arond, not liking people to know about his addiction but on hearing the whisper (of course he hears it, he doesnt need to read minds since he hears and sees almost everything by default) hands over a small stack of oreos. There are, after all, plenty more where that came from. He holds a finger to his lips.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I think the student was showing something lewd, but that doesn't mean you can just beat them." Morrigan states to Damian. "Rather dark ages of her to be honest." she shakes her head. She looks over to Richard as he is speaking to Belinda still and there is a soft look. He needed a vacation.

"I need to get with the judges so we can announce winners. Will you all excuse me?" the battered woman states as she goes to gather judges and get ready for Duncan to announce things to folks.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Thanks, Damian", Caleb says. "Maybe soon a few like these will hit the streets." He loiks at J'onn and Morrigan, "It is possible to make them, and be affordable." He also presents another design, "By the same premise, smaller transportation vehicles can be created, optimizing time for people to travel when walking won't cut it, or for instance, help the disabled.

The model shown is rather straight, and could fit through your average door; wheelchairs would be far harder by comparison.

Richard Stadler has posed:
Stadler pauses again, midstep from the booth, and turns to Belinda, giving her a more tired smile. "Sorry. We've... it's been a very busy week. For all of us. A lot of..." He says, trailing off for a moment.

When he talks again, it's clear he doesn't want to bring it up, "Ms. Gutierrez... If you... needed to leave the city. Away from the coast. Is there somewhere..." Another trailing off, before shaking his head. "Just... for the next bit of time, just.. be aware of your surroundings, all right?" He says, before forcing himself to step away.

J'onn, though, gets a bit of a look as his eyes flicker down to the sleeve of oreos he's handing her. "Watch the chocolate. I don't know if it's the best for her." He says, leaning in and giving J'onn a suffering look.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Yes, of course, Doctor MacIntyre. It was wonderful seeing you again," Damian offers back to Morrigan following her explanation regarding the brief scene that had unfolded nearby. Again Damian glances to Caleb, offers a soft nod of farewell, and then slips away. Damian Wayne then spends a little longer browsing and considering other presentations, but does eventually slip out of the gymnasium and ventures elsewhere.

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda accepts the offered cooklie sleeve with grace, care, and relish. Properly dutiful, she tucks the package under arm...

And sticks her tongue out at Mr. Stadler. TOUCH NOT THE WHITE STUFFS.

Innocent.

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz nods in approval, silently to Richard Stadler's statement. He is curious now at the wellbeing of Belinda, sicne such matters are his primary concern at the school, but doesnt open minds with a can opener. Yet. He blinks at Richard STadler's statement on Chocolate, and briefly gets a 'What is Wrong with you son' look but remember sthe concern showed for Belinda and nods sagely, understanding the concern but does not does not take the chocolate back. "Jon Johnson, History Teacher." He extends a hand.

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Johnson! Belinda sighs happily (Teacher name: GET), accepting his hand with her own free grasp. "Belinda Gutierrez," she returns, smiling cheerfully. "Senior this year. I was not able to come to the Science Fair last time." SHe squeezes, releasing her clasp to wave her hand in the air. "...things. Distractions. Plus, a giant robot stepped on my science experiment. It was very diverting."

She glances towards Dr. MacIntyre, tensing with a grin. "Is it almost time? It's almost time!"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan stands over in the corner with the judges and there is some back and forth. She gives a nod to them once they are done and then she heads off to deal with a security call. Apparently some were upset about Granny.

Duncan, the ever smiling assistant to all of the Happy Harbor family takes the tabulated scores, "So we're doing something a bit different this year. Since we had no College entries, we are going to be awarding the College prize to the first place winner of the High school division. For those who don't know, that is a 50,000 dollar grant to go towards research and other things for your project." he states.

"Our third place in the high school division is William Mason with his water purifier. Second place goes to Miss Belinda Gutierrez with Project: SHINOBI she'll be receiving a 25,000 dollar scholarship to the college of her choice or if she chooses to Happy Harbor Community College it will be fully funded." he states.

"And without further ado, our first place winner is Mister Caleb Dykstra with his very impressive build. He will be receiving his choice of a 50,000 dollar scholarship to the college of his choice or have a full ride at HHCC. He also will be receiving a 50,000 dollar grant for his project." he comments.

"On behalf of Happy Harbor schools and our faculty, we thank you for coming today and we hope that everyone has a safe trip home." Duncan announces as it brings things to an end.

Belinda Gutierrez has posed:
Belinda bites her lip, quivering with unabashed delight. Met Mr. Fox! Won second place! Against a /car/!

She bites her lip harder, visibly vibrating. Must not crow, or cheer, or howl delight. Must not!

....tiny awoo permitted. And black card ensconced safely away!

J'onn J'onzz has posed:
J'onn J'onzz politely clabs, impressed at the restulsts and interested in the futures of all three of the winners.

Richard Stadler has posed:
Of course, RIck is clapping with the best of them at students getting those college scholarships. Both Belinda and Caleb certainly deserved. And it meant that Belinda would have a place here at the Community college.... Though, Rick had decisions to make. It was certainly cheaper than Columbia, and it would do well for her first 2 years... If there was a Columbia inside of a year. Things were... tough.

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
And... Caleb is impressed! No doubt about it!

At first, he even considered if it was a good idea to bring in a vehicle into the Fair - it was a Science Fair, not a Car Expo, after all. But, everything went better than expected.

"Wow... I just wasn't expecting this..." He needs to sit down, so he leans against the car. "Oh, man..."

He didn't expect to win, but the implications a fully self-sufficient car have... It could throw the economy off-ballance, if ever produced!

And it's not like it won't be another mark on his back or anything, courtesy of anyone who wants to keep the status quo!
