Youngest of seven, Belinda has come to New York to attend Happy Harbor, living with her grandmother in a place a little more cosmopolitan than San Juarez, New Mexico. Recently aware of her lycanthropic heritage, she takes great pains to hide it- to be as 'normal' as possible. Despite this dark mark on her life, she races through the days with eagerness and exhuberance; hobbies and interests run a gauntlet from martial arts and aerobics to cooking and a growing interest in chemistry. Yet with the threat of the full moon ever-lurking, it is an open question if she will be drawn into the greater superpowered community-- or if her secret will lead to greater, more terrible revelations.

2006 - Born to Eduardo and Antonia Gutierrez in San Juarez, New Mexico, last of seven children.

2020 - Family legacies come to an unexpected head-- Belinda experiences her First Shift as the curse rears its head. Patriarch Hanz, himself sharing said curse, instructed Belinda on how best to control it, teaching what he retained through his fading faculties.

2022 - Belinda went to live with relatives in New York, cutting off the less scrupulous family members from misusing her abilities for their benefit.

Loyal:
One thing sticks close and dear to her heart-- family is everything to her, and friends a close second. Once her word is given, she'll stick by it through thick and thin; betrayal hurts worse than anything, leading to mournful regrets and doubts and self-recrimination.

Zesty:
Taking up new challenges, new risks, acts of daring-- all are eagerly met with great relish. For her, school is the perfect place to try a host of new things-- sciences and athletics, maths (shudder) and different languages galore. All are met with equal determination, and loss accepted reluctantly, if ever, from one unwilling to yield. Intense and energetic, she rarely leaves anything half-done-- including her own, eternal quest for self-improvement.

Lupine Regeneration:
Weaker in her human form, she can rapidly recover from injuries, with poisons barely having any effect without extraordinary doses or exceptional potency. Her hybrid form amplifies this; barring restrictions of aconite, silver, or heavy burns, she can regenerate the most brutal wounds in seconds, up to lost limbs.

Lycanthropic Senses:
In either wolfman or human form, scent and hearing are sharper than human limits-- both are keen enough to sense everything a regular canine could, including the ability to track by scent (up to hours old) or hear in the ultra frequencies. In addition, her vision is spectacular-- she can percieve to further ends of the light spectrum than human;; ultraviolet and infrared frequencies of light both appear in her sight.

Werewolf Form:
The ultimate expression of her abilities, this is the classic 'werewolf' form, with teeth, claws, furred exterior, and an appearance that tends to evoke terror in the unsuspecting. Adding nearly three feet to her height, she packs on an additional 120 pounds of muscle to her frame. Teeth and claws are her only combat options aside from utilizing brute strength (1600 pounds, a half ton). Dexterity and raw swiftness also increase over human norms; the reactions are instinctive and untrained, but approach the best human athletes. Running speed caps out at just over 40 mph if sprinting all out.

Cooking:
Thanks to family and long practice, she is a surprisingly better cook than her age would suggest. The problem is only that her idea of 'reasonable' tends to be different than others. She enjoys heavily spicy food, and thinks nothing at all of munching absently on the likes of ghost peppers for 'the kick they give'.

General Athletics:
Belinda is not a natural athelete. While her level of coordination is better than most (thanks to her lycanthropy) and she is much stronger than she seems (again, thanks to the same), she is still a teenager, growing into herself and her body.

Hunting:
Where the Wolf shines through--having spent most of her life in a rural setting, she is reasonable at tracking, stalking, and trailing after her chosen prey. This is not a catchall by any means; the skills she used in the forest or the desert do not translate fully into urban environments, especially where a torrent of distractions abound.

Happy Harbor:
She has the same student-level access to facilities, labs, libraries, et al as any other student of Happy Harbor has. Nothing more dangerous than the high school chemistry lab for her.

High School Student:
Other than a small stipend to cover essentials, Belinda has nothing beyond to use in any way. Public transit, reasonable rentals, and trust in good fortune are all she has.

Utility Belt:
It has pockets! Similar to the belts the various Batpeople wear and provided by Oriole's old Outsiders gear, this one provides a handy means of carrying small items. While specifics can vary, she generally has a set of strong ziptie-handcuffs, suitable gear for first aid, and dried peppers. More than just a handy snack, they are used to help relieve aching sinuses in case of gas or smoke attacks on her sense of smell.

As a failsafe/overwatch device, the belt includes a subtle transponder linked to the communications equipment utilized by Oriole as a just in case, with potential to be connected to the greater Batcomputer tracking network. Piggybacked on cellphone tower signals, the sensor is recharged by Silverdane's own bioelectricity, working without her ever being aware of it. Normally keyed to Gotham City's environs, it can be modified remotely to work and track her anywhere short of orbit or extremely remote regions (like Antarctica).

Classic Vulnerabilities:
Belinda's formidable healing powers and strength are as naught before fire, silver weapons, and the herb aconite-- wolfsbane. While not immediately deadly to her, she must heal from any burns, aconite poison, or silver-caused injuries as slowly as any normal human being would.

Dark Secret:
More horrifying than even growing fuzzy and chasing rabbits under a full moon is the discovery that her beloved great-grandfather Hanz was a member of the Nazi party in Germany. Brought over under the auspices of Project Paperclip, he simply became a good American citizen once he was 'de-Nazified' and faded from history. Having discovered it through old school research and paper clippings, she keeps that secret close to her chest and prays that it is never revealed.

Secret Identity:
Belinda is a werewolf. She tries very hard to keep that from most people, especially her classmates; if her secret ever got out, any ability to have a normal life would be ruined-- and worse, her family would be suddenly and acutely at risk of the same.

Teenager:
She can't drive, buy alcohol, or do any of the other host of things adults take for granted. Outside of her Silverdane persona, she is just one more Latino kid among millions.

Poor:
Belinda's family is middle class, though being as large as it is, 'middle class' means 'barely scraping by'. Out of work due to an injury, the Gutierrez family patriarch rallies as best he can, keeping their small home maintained; the primary breadwinning falls to his children, with one working in automotive repair, others laboring as migrant workers, with the last two in school. This puts Belinda in a complicated position: attending school in New York is the result of scholarship and luck, but money looms ominously and continuously in the background as a potential outsized influence on her.

In essence, it influences how she views money, what she spends money on, how she lives day to day (a perpetually impoverished mindset). Cheap and effective are the bywords she lives by; free food is rarely ignored. Until very recently, she did not even own the ubiquitous cell phone everyone else seemed to have, and though that changes for her superheroic persona, she is still chary and careful with wealth.

The Count of Monte Cristo	December 8th, 2023	The Count of Monte Cristo is a movie adaptation of a musical based off the movie adaptation of the book by the same name. A young man is falsely accused of a crime and thrown into an island prison without trial. Upon obtaining his freedom and acquiring a fortune, the man sets out under a new name on a quest of vengeance upon those who stole his life from him.
