A former SHIELD agent who has taken to freelance security work, Jack Nolan has found himself taking advantage of his mutation, rather than allowing it to define him like he had before. Now in charge of a large security firm in New York, he finds himself often on the front lines of protecting people from those who would aim to hurt them. Be it on a street in Gotham or a high-rise in Metropolis, if he can help, he's going to.

Personality

Defensive:
Unlike a lot of mutants, he cannot hide his mutation. This can make him a target for anti-mutant groups. He?ll defend himself against these groups if needed, but he?d rather try to avoid the conflict with them if he can, but won?t hesitate to fight back if they force his hand.

Gentle Giant:
Jack looks big and scary, but he?s really a kind, compassionate person who cares deeply about his fellow man, which is why he joined the military and SHIELD, to help defend them against threats. He?ll always go out of his way to protect his friends and fellow agents, figuring that he can take anything if it?ll keep them out of harm?s way.

Despite his successes in sports and in the military, he?s also a bit of a closet nerd, liking science fiction and fantasy, and having a tendency to be a bit star struck when meeting famous super heroes. With his size and strength, he tends to stand out no matter where he goes, but he also can be shy and want to get out of situations where he feels uncomfortable because of the attention he?s getting.

Musical Traits:
He still loves to play baseball, and also has a tendency to keep a pair of headphones and a ton of music on his phone to listen to when he?s in the field or on his own. He?s particularly fond of rock music, be it metal, punk, or alternative. Anything fast paced and heavy is good to him, though he loves melodic stuff too. Occasionally he'll still play his guitar, even though he doesn't have a band any longer.

New Mutant:
He?s still new to his powers, unsure of everything he?s able to do. Because of this he?s adjusting to everything, learning how to better control and interact with things without breaking it thanks to his enhanced size and strength, and has a tendency to knock things over with his tail without meaning to do so.

Powers

Enhanced Strength:
With his mutation comes the strength to be able to move his stone-like body around. This has allowed him to possess strength far beyond any normal human. He can pick up and throw a pickup truck with a little effort, and could heft a semi with a lot of effort and focus.

Spikes:
Over time, he has developed the ability to create stone spikes out of his skin. He can use this to launch ranged attacks by throwing them at targets, or to keep an attacker off of him. His clothes don't tend to survive it though.

Stone Claws:
The claws on his hands and feet are made of a much sharper material, closer to obsidian, allowing them to dig into surfaces and enable him to scale up walls or enabling him to slash through objects with effort. Combined with his strength he can rend steel.

Stone Skin:
His skin is made of rock, or at least something that is a close approximation to rock. It can absorb hits and impacts and will chip and break as a result but unlike real stone will repair itself like it was normal flesh. He can take small arms fire and impacts up to nearly ten tons of force, but impacts greater than that can result in serious damage.

Tail:
His tail is thick and powerful, and he can use it as an extra appendage when he's fighting. He can swing it with a lot more force when he puts his whole body behind it. It's not dexterous enough to use it as an extra hand, but it can be useful in a fight.

Skills

Athletics:
He was a dual sport athlete when he was in high school, as well as doing weight lifting and other activities to keep himself in shape. These skills can still help him day to day, and he's always more than happy to drop baseball trivia on someone.

Hand To Hand Training:
Along with baseball, Jack did wrestling in high school and took up boxing when he was in the Marines. He has a lot of training in hand to hand with these sports under his belt, and knows how to fight close quarters and escape holds.

Military Training:
Having served with the Marine Corps infantry and working with SHIELD, he has several different types of military training available to him, for both small arms and equipment, as well as tactics to use in situations.

Piloting:
Prior to his transformation, Jack was trained on various SHIELD ground and air vehicles. With some effort to fit into the cockpit of them, he's still able to drive or fly those vehicles.

Resources

Military Contacts:
In addition to his SHIELD contacts, he can always reach out to former members of his Marine Corps unit, or even his father who is still with the Air Force.

Shield Contacts:
While officially no longer an active field agent, he still has plenty of contacts in SHIELD, and they are well aware that if they need to call him in for situations where his particular abilities will be useful.

Stoneclaw Security:
Jack's private security firm that he has opened in New York City after he left SHIELD, the company provides a wide variety of security services, and is known for being extremely particular about the clients it takes on. Also helps provide decent cover when Jack gets into fights with thugs in an alleyway.

Weaknesses

Can't Swim:
Jack will quite literally sink like a stone if he goes in water. But he still needs to breathe, so he'd need to be rescued if he ever went underwater.

Mutant:
Being a mutant is already looked down upon by a lot of the world, but a lot of them still look human. He doesn't even remotely look human and has no way to hide what he is. This makes interactions with the world at large a lot harder, as well as making it much more difficult for him to get by day to day.

Stone Skin:
While his stone skin is a benefit, it is also a major problem. Traditional medical treatments are nearly impossible, needles can't penetrate his hide and while his stone skin can heal to an extent, life threatening injuries can't be treated in traditional ways.
