Profile
Tommy Shepherd hasn't had an easy life. His parents divorced when he was super young and a series of emotional outbursts landed him in and out of juvie. This culminated when he accidentally used his powers to blow a math classroom during his freshman year of high school. This landed him in a maximum security juvenile detention center for mutants. Recently, a combination of mutant and child-rights activists secured his freedom, and he has transferred to Happy Harbor.

* 2005: Parents divorced.
* 2009: (Creation)In a moment of desperation and to have something of her own, Wanda attempts to create a family using her chaos magic. As nothing manifested before her, she fully believed it failed, but it didn't. Not really. It just didn't got to plan, like most chaos magic, and Billy and Tommy were manifested retroactively into the world as parts of other families.
* 2011: Enters Juvenile Hall for first time.
* 2016: Tommy discovers his abilities while running track.
* 2017: Tommy accidentally vaporizes his high school and is imprisoned.
* 2020: Mutant Rights activists litigate Tommy's release

Personality
Afraid To Fail:
Tommy is incredibly worried about failing and disappointing people he admires or respects. As a result, he will often push himself past his limits and sometimes needs to be stopped from harming himself.
Cynical:
People show their true colors eventually. The hammer is always waiting to fall on unsuspecting heads.
Distant:
Tommy is afraid to let people get close. Rejected and neglected by both parents then rejected by society, Tommy does not easily trust others.
Loyal:
When someone does manage to earn Tommy's trust, he will not hesitate to help them in a pinch.

Powers
Accelerated Perception:
Tommy's reaction time is several times faster then the average human. His brain processes information at a rapid rate allowing him to react to his surroundings while traveling at supersonic speeds. Additionally, he is able to read entire books in a matter of moments though his retention is short lived.
Molecular Acceleration:
By generating hyper-kinetic vibrations, Tommy is able to accelerate molecules and cause solid matter to explode.
Molecular Destabilization:
By focusing on the acceleration of his own molecules, he is able to vibrate his body through solid matter.
Speedster:
Tommy's top running speed is clocked around 761 miles per hour. Due to his mutant physiology, he is able to maintain this speed for several hours before becoming exhausted.
His respiratory and cardiovascular systems are incredibly efficient, allowing him to rapidly metabolize food to maintain the energy output required to fuel his powers. His advanced metabolic rate is a double edged sword causing poisons and toxins to affect him more quickly but also drastically shortening their duration. In some cases, this allows him to shrug off the effects of a lethal dose, as the typically lethal symptoms are not maintained long enough to end his life. Similarly, the chemical side effects of fatigue do not seem to affect him.
His physiology incorporates a strengthened skeleton, musculature and flesh allowing him to resist the shock and tearing forces of moving at supersonic speeds.
Superhuman Strength:
Tommy is able to lift up to eight hundred pounds with his arms and up to one ton with his legs.

Brawling:
Beyond just applying his powers, Tommy practically grew up in juvie. Thus, he's scrappy in a fight. While outpaced by individuals with more formal training, he's learned a few things from the school of 'Hard Knocks'

Chemical Reaction:
Tommy's accelerated metabolism causes poisons, toxins, and diseases to progress more rapidly. Sometimes this is beneficial, other times it leads to rapid incapacitation.
Impatient:
Tommy's speedster powers have left him with a skewed perspective on time. If forced to wait, he becomes extremely frustrated, and he's quicker to feel isolated and alone.
Rough Childhood:
Tommy had a very rough childhood which has left him isolated and untrusting of authority figures. As a result, he has almost no resources to draw upon. He's starting his life from square one.
