Character Info
Profile
Having gained an intuitive understanding of science thanks to her matter manipulation powers, it did not take Eve long to join the superhero life as Atom Eve. She attends school by day and fights villains in her spare time and at night. Like most heroes, she finds the problems of maintaining a secret identity from those outside of her family to be a constant struggle.
Timeline
Timeline:
2001 - A government agency begins secret work on mutating human embryo DNA to try to create
powered individuals. Dr. Elias Brandyworth heads the research team.
2003 - A viable child is
finally produced when Brandyworth uses the procedure on his own unborn child with one of the women
in the study. Eve's mother is killed in childbirth by Eve's powers. With government agents coming to
collect the baby, Dr. Brandyworth secretly swaps her with the stillborn child of the Wilkins family.
Adam and Betsy Wilkins name her Samantha Eve Wilkins. From a distance, Brandyworth keeps an eye on
Eve growing up.
2004 - The first words the baby speaks are the chemical formula of the apple
her mother gives her, though her parents think it is just gibberish baby talk at the
time.
2009 - Six year old Eve explains to an older babysitter why the state of mercury's
electrons make it a liquid at room temperature, and proceeds to help him with his chemistry homework
in exchange for cookies.
2012 - Young prodigy Eve gets a scholarship to a school for gifted
minds. She is eventually kicked out when it turns out science is her only scholastic expertise. Sent
to her room with dinner after arguing with her parents, Eve accidentally transmutes her chicken into
a cheeseburger, and discovers her powers for the first time.
2016 - Eve joins the Teen Team
superhero group at the age of thirteen.
2019 - Even has an on-again, off-again relationship
with her teammate Rex Sloan, better known as Rex Splode.
2021 - Now a senior, Eve starts her
final year at Happy Harbor high school

Personality
Big Picture:
As someone who is capable of great things, Eve's focus is on the bigger picture rather than on
petty events around her. She is not likely to be pulled into personality conflicts within her team,
for example, and might leave to tackle matters on her own if she believes what is going on is
counterproductive. Eve wants to help people, and while she has started out doing that in traditional
superhero fashion of stopping villains, she realizes there are more ways to go about it than just
that.
Compassionate:
Eve is a kindhearted soul who looks out for other people. Like many her age, she wants to make
the world a better place. However she actually has powers that enable her to do this in ways that
other kids would only dream of.
Confident:
Having started as a superhero even before her teen years, and joined her first hero team at
thirteen, Eve has developed a great confidence in herself and her abilities. She isn't boastful
though. Eve has a quiet confidence, more likely to just go and do what needs doing than to make a
production about anything.
Character Sheet
Powers
Healing:
Eve is a fast healer as the mental blocks on her when dealing with living matter are not quite
strong enough to keep her from subconsciously affecting her own body. She can heal from injuries
several times faster than normal humans.
More impressively, though she does not realize it
Eve's power leaves her effectively immortal. Though she ages at a normal rate, should she die either
of old age or other causes, her power would overwhelm those blocks and regenerate her body and
return her to a state and age where she was at her prime.
Subatomic Manipulation:
The experiments that mutated her genetics have left Eve with the power to rearrange matter to
her liking. She can assemble and disassemble compounds, can create atoms from their component parts,
and even form them into living creatures such as plants. However, her father, Elias Brandyworth,
also saw her implanted with a number of mental blocks that place limits on her powers.
Atom
Eve is able to do the following:
* Manifest objects like forcefields, walls, weapons, or
protective bubbles from what most would call some form of hard light energy. She has control over
what can pass through them, whether it is people, bullets, energy blasts, or air.
* Use these
constructs to move items similar to telekinesis. She can place people in a floating bubble, fly them
alongside of her, or scoop up earth.
* Create blasts that provide concussive or explosive
force when they impact.
* Fly by manipulating the air around her, with the appearance of pink
jets coming out of her hands or feet. Her top speed is around 130 mph.
* Transmute medium-
sized amounts of matter from one form to another, or change its state or temperature. The greater
the change the more difficult it is. Creating a sword from a steel pipe would be far easier than
creating one from dust or paper. Food can be changed from chicken to a cheeseburger. Water can be
brought to a boil or a cloud made to condense into rain. She can fix her clothing and transform it
into her costume. The side of a house can be turned into a door, then back into the side of the
house. A stand of trees could be converted into a full-sized tree house with some exertion. Things
much larger than a pickup truck start to strain her abilities with the blocks in place.
* Eve
can create simple living organic matter like plants. She could cause a small garden to grow fully in
a few moments, but with her blocks in place, it would take an extended effort to do the same to a
large farm's fields.
* Mental blocks prevent Eve from transmuting more complex living matter.
She could not dissolve someone's arm while they are in place. Though she could still blast it off
with an energy blast.
Were her blocks broken through, Eve is capable of much greater feats.
Her matter manipulation would be on par with that of the Scarlet Witch. In great need this might be
possible for a short period with ST or staff approval. However she is not used to such high levels
of power use, and they might knock her out or otherwise harm her.
Skills
Competent Hero:
Eve has been a part of a superhero team since she was thirteen, and was fighting crimes with her
powers even before that. She has developed great competence both with her powers, and working in
tandem with other heroes. She is able to devise and understand hero and villain strategies and
tactics, and anticipate how to use her powers with her teammates in great synergy.
Science:
With Eve's matter manipulation power comes an intuitive understanding of molecular composition,
chemistry, physics, and other related fields. She never had to learn these things, she can just
knows them as she can sense the matter and energy surrounding her in ways that other people
cannot.
However, this is the extent of her educational gifts. Eve is a modest at student best
otherwise, having to study to pass her other classes. She was once admitted to a school for the gift
on a scholarship, but the science prodigy was eventually kicked out when she was unable to show
other academic fields the same level of achievement.
Resources
Teen Team:
Atom Eve is a longtime member of the Teen Team. Allowing her to call on them for help and to put
their resources to good use. In particular, the information gathering capabilities of Robot are
often invaluable.
Weaknesses
Family Matters:
Eve believes that Adam and Betsy Wilkins are her parents, while in actuality she was switched
with their stillborn child by Dr. Brandyworth. Adam, in particular, is not a fan of Eve's activities
as a superhero. He prefers that she pursue a normal life, and considers the day they learned she had
powers to be one of the worst days in his life. The arguments they have over this topic are ongoing.
Of course, like any normal family members of superheroes, they have the potential to be used against
her.
Have To Go Somewhere:
A lot of leftover atoms from Eve's power transforming matter end up in her own body, which
processes them much as it does other types of waste. Heavy use of her power can cause her to have to
go to the bathroom. A lot.
Squishy:
Though her abilities are quite powerful, Atom Eve is physically still just a normal girl when it
comes to her durability. She survives by keeping from being hit. Though she might heal from them
later, and would not die permanently either, during the course of a fight she is just as susceptible
to injuries as a normal person, and could be knocked out of action.
