Pyro is an American mutant who has the psychic ability to create and control fire. He has been through alot. He has had jobs and been falsely imprisoned, and he is sick of it. He wont let humans make his life miserable just so he can be one of them. He also has the personality of a typical angsty teenager but with more obvious things to complain about.

Timeline

Timeline:
* 2002: Simon is born in Chicago, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Lasker, whose first names he has refused to give or use since he got sent to juvie.
* 2004: The Laskers move to New Jersey for Mr. Lasker's new job.
* 2010: The appartment building that the Laskers live in burns down under suspicious cercumstances. The casualties are high and the Laskers are among the few survivors because they were with Simon at the hospital as he was dealing with food poisoning.
* 2015: Simon manifests his powers as a result of an embarassing incedent in the locker room that he refuses to speak on. His tormentors survived with severe burns and he wound up in juvie. A few months of legal struggles later and Simon is remanded into the custody of The Xavier Institute because his parents wont take him back.
* 2018: Simon gives up on academics and takes a more vocational route. Welding goes nowhere because he isn't willing to put up with the mistreatment for a job that was never that amazing to begin with.
* 2019: Being a firefighter goes better until he is assumed to be responsible for a case of serial arson and gets convicted for it before the actual arsonist strikes again and gets caught.

Personality

Ego:
Pyro has always wanted to be powerful and important and he thinks his mutant powers make him both. He feels like alot of his life has happened to him rather than because of him, and this infuriates him when he thinks back on it. He does not like being treated as lesser and is often willing to do something tremendously stupid over it.

Have Some Pride:
He gets annoyed with people who put up with abuse that he thinks they have the ability to stop. In his life he has dealt with lots of situations where he wishes he could have gotten away with doing something monumentally stupid to people gave him crap, but he knows that there are people who are already looking for an excuse to jail. Its not as if he respects the weak more, but them he understands.

Loyalty and "loyalty":
Pyro will risk alot for people he knows and cares about, but he doesn't care whether non-mutant strangers suffer or die. It isn't his problem. For example; He is aware that he COULD help put down the most intense and powerful wildfires with a level a saftey others wouldn't have, but until they are willing to pay him millions and "stop treating me like mutie scum", they can put out their own damn fires.

Fire Constructs (Future):
Pyro's power has the potential to make fire that is dense enough to be functionally solid. This would allow him to pick up and throw objects. This fire is still fire.

Fire Control:
Pyro can control existing flame that he can see. Practically this means flames within about 100 yards (~100m) of him as well as all the flame he is sustaining himself. He loses control of all flames that leave his sight or that he stops paying attention to. This ability allows him to put the fire out or raise its temperature by several hundred degrees (~600F or ~300C)

Fire Creation:
Pyro can create enough fire to fill a good sized room, and he can sustain that much on only air. This fire must be connected to his heat shield.

Heat Resistance:
Simon can tolerate temperatures as if they were around 20F(~10C) cooler. This means that he can still get heatstroke and heat exhaustion in his bubble.

Heat Shield:
Pyro can create a shield bubble centered on himself that blocks heat above around 120F(50C). This means that outside heat wont raise the temperature inside the bubble. The maximum size of this bubble is around 5 yards across. This is enough to protect a handful of other people if everyone gets real friendly. This bubble stays warm in cold environments and prevents anyone inside from getting burned by heat from outside. This bubble requires Pyro to be actively focusing on the heat he wants to block. This bubble is also visible.

Pyrokinesis:
Pyro's control of fire is actually telepathic in nature. This means it could potentially be affected positively or negatively by things that can affect telepathy, such as Cerebro or telepathic inhibitors.

Firefighting:
He knows how to safely burn materials so that they cant contribute to a larger fire. He also has good insticts for when a floor or ceiling is going to collapse.

Welding:
He can use his powers to quickly weld similar metals. He can weld with his created flame alone, but he can only make a small amount of flame that hot (about the size of his pinky). With access to existing flames, he can weld entire seams at once or cut large holes in thick steel.

Firefighting Gear:
The X-men made Pyro a suit for fighting fires. It has a helmet, oxygen tank, cooling under suit and an abrasion and puncture resistant shell. It has all of this and it is about as bulky as your average snow suit. That said, it isn't meant to protect against weapons or powers, so if a ninja decided to shank him in it, it wouldn't help that much.

X-Men:
Pyro has lived at The Xavier Institute for years. As a result he has some amount of access to the equipment and expertise of the X-Men.

Weaknesses

Hungry Flames:
His powers use a considerable amount of energy to sustain for any significant duration. This can cause Simon to pass out or even die from exertion.

Ignition Switch:
Pyro sees red when people repeatedly make him feel small, irrelevant and weak. This often turns to violence. You can't make cookies and flowers out of fire after all. He holds grudges against people he doesn't feel like learned their lesson, and he also remembers people who have been good to him in the past and he can forgive them for a lot.

Mostly Human:
Pyro's powers offer no protection against rocks, bullets, knives, poison, radiation, telepathy, hunger, thirst and asphixiation work like normal.

Obvious Powers:
When his powers are in use, his eyes glow like his eye-sockets are filled with magma. In addition any flames that he is creating or sustaining must be at least partially touching his heatshield.
