Susan is a person dredged from the mire of the twisting effects of bad qi and unholy energy of undeath. She puts high value on life, peace, happiness, and protecting others. While she is no longer undead, she is not the woman she once was. She fights against paranoia and PTSD to eek out some kind of life and make the world safer for others.

Timeline:
* 1991: Born in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of a Chinese-American model and a special effects artist. Her mother retires to focus on raising her daughter.
* 1993: Family moves to Arizona.
* 1996: Enrolled in ballet and gymnastics. Her mother begins teaching her the fundamentals of Yoga and Feng Shui.
* 1997: Takes apart her father's antique pocketwatch. After being caught surrounded by gears and such by her mother, she is told to put it back together and actually manages it.
* 1999: Rearranges her room based on what her mother has taught her about Feng Shui.
* 2002: Spins her first bowl in her father's workshop which sparks a passion for making in her.
* 2005: Restores her first antique, a wardrobe.
* 2006: Enrolls in all the shop classes throughout high school. Manages to get into AP engineering classes.
* 2009: Begins 'flipping' mechanical antiques from bicycles to motorcycles to clocks, restoring them and gifting them to community figureheads who like such things. Loses TONS of money, but she has no bills, so it's probably fine.
* 2010: Graduates high school with highest honors; goes to 'apprentice' at machine shop in China while staying with aunt and uncle.
* 2012: Attacked by qi vampire and disappears shortly before the end of the world (December 21st).
* 2013: Using the principles of meditation and Qi manipulation taught to her by her mother, she fights the vampire. She manages to drain her master of qi and survive the sunrise while he is turned to dust.
* 2013: Finds a group of monks trained in mystic arts. Their leader agrees to attempt to teach her control. The monks lock her up in a dark basement and have her practice martial arts as a form of meditation. She also practices her mother's Yoga. They periodically release deadly predators into her cage. Every meal of living qi is a battle.
* 2020: Fully eight years after her breath was devoured with her living qi, through meditation of various forms, she unlocks a oneness with the world around her, allowing her to drink of ambient qi for sustenance.
* 2020: Her powers restored, her meals no longer dependent on living beings, the predators in her cage growing hungrier, the monks let her go a new woman.
* 2021: Moves back to the states taking the name Demona, after a character in a Disney show.

Personality

Anti-Vampire:
Susan spent a decade as a Jiangshi vampire. If not for her intense meditation training, she wouldn't have been able to break free of the Jiangshi who killed her, and if not for that decade of self-control training, she wouldn't have been able to rejoin society. Now freed from undeath, Susan refuses to allow vampirism to continue on the Earth. Any vampire is immediately her enemy unless vouched for by someone Susan trusts. When that happens, they are not removed from her list, merely moved to the end of it. All vampires will be either exterminated or cured if Susan has her way.

Centered:
Susan spends much time in meditation and prayer. She is acquiring many tools on top of these to deal with the trauma she carries. She shows her emotions, unlike a vulcan, but unless she's having a remarkably bad day, her emotions don't control her.

Confident:
Susan is confident in herself and her abilities and loves to try new things. Her mantra is, "I can do it; I'm amazing!" This goes doubly so for things she already knows how to do, but does melt slightly when faced with her vampire trauma. In those times, she falls back on her faith.

Good:
Susan has fought hard against the taint of undeath to retain her humanity. She is a Christian, though her own personal morality is based on being a Disney Princess. She respects all life, fights hard against evil, and will fight even harder to avoid losing herself to evil again.

Optimist:
Susan always tries to keep a smile on her face and a song in her heart. She has seen herself as a Disney Princess since she was little. She tries to live up to that self-image with kindness, good cheer, and shining a light into other people's days.

Personable:
Susan cannot stand isolation; she's had enough of THAT nonsense. She must be around people, socializing and connecting. She doesn't like crowds that much, but prefers one-on-one relationships. The more conversations she has to keep up with, the more distracted she gets; the more distracted she gets, the more vulnerable she is to ambush from a vampire. She's not going through that again, but isolation is harder.

Student of Magic:
Susan is a student of the mystic arts. With her knowledge and time to study, there is the chance that she can decode arcane writings or identify some spell. Her personal repertoir is currently limited to one narrow area that has proven easy for her to learn. She has died, reanimated as Jiangshi, controlled her Jiangshi nature, and has studied intensely learning how to kill Jiangshi (among other vampires). Her experiences have given her an intuitive understanding of the dark arts of Necromancy.

Sylvan Necromancy:
Susan has learned necromancy magic; she is able to raise undead minions. Because doing so on a human violates her beliefs, she has derived the animation of dead plant matter through necromancy. Further, Susan can call upon her maker skills to assemble dead plant matter into constructs of human shape then dress them in disguises.

Plant-based undead are as physically strong as the plants used to make them. Rotting wood might be crushed by a normal human's bare hand, unable to support its own weight. A bunch of leaves couldn't topple a child. However, made from solid woods and constructed with mobility in mind, a plant-based undead of human size might be as capable as a terminator robot. That is to say, strong as the strongest human bodybuilder, slow, mindless, flammable, and weak to the things undead are weak to. A plant-based undead made from a dead tree might fall over a lot, but it might be able to pick up a small car without its branches breaking.

Making:
Machining, metalwork, carpentry, tinkering, restoration, and repair are things that Susan's father instilled in her from an early age. She's as good in a workshop as any YouTube maker. Since returning to the USA, Susan has learned how to use microchip fabricators, 3D printers, and is continuing to expand her creating skills.

Martial Artist:
Susan practiced a form of martial arts as meditation constantly for a decade. She can defend herself if attacked physically, and she has been shown to be effective at taking down dangerous predators, though as a living human, she wouldn't be able to easily neutralize them.

Meditation:
A key element to Susan's success is her ability to center herself and overcome elements around her. She could almost certainly walk on hot coals, lay on a bed of nails, or do any of the other meditation-augmented tasks other humans can do. Her focus has been trained far enough that she can push away the effects of mind control and illusions that affect her senses strangely.

Multilingual:
Susan can speak English and Mandarin Chinese natively. She can read and write English and both traditional and simplified forms of Chinese characters. She is fascinated by Chinese languages and has learned to speak Standard Cantonese and many of the more widely spoken dialects of both modern and older Chinese languages stretching back into antiquity.

Performer:
Susan has trained in ballet, various musical instruments, and learned from her father how to do special effects and otherwise work on the production side of stage work. She could easily fill in in an orchestra pit, behind a sound board, as a videographer, or many of the other roles for a performance, including roles in front of a camera.

Anti-Vampire Staff:
Daybreak is Susan's anti-vampire staff (or as close as she can get to one). The core of the staff is living peach tree wood (a weakness of Jiangshi vampires). The wood was watered with holy water (a weakness of all undead) and infused with garlic (a weakness of vampires). The coin iron (a weakness of Jiangshi vampires) around the wood was charged in moonlight (a weakness of Jiangshi vampires) and inlaid with holy imagery (a weakness of all undead) made out of silver (a weakness of vampires). Tiny voids in the staff are filled with rice (a weakness of Jiangshi vampires) and holy water (a weakness of all undead). The staff was blessed (a weakness of all undead) on hallowed ground (a weakness of all undead).

The weakest of vampires would have a hard time even being in a confined space with Susan's staff. It would be painful for any undead, no matter how powerful, to touch. Being hit with the staff would suck as hard for the undead as it would for a living human, at the very least. If an undead uses brute force to try to overcome their pain and break the staff, they would be sprinkled with the garlic holy water and rice therein, which may prove fatal, depending on the undead.

Thanks to her decade of dedicated martial arts training, Susan is a master with this weapon. Thanks to her using her own qi to make the peach wood alive before she lost such powers, it's part of Susan, and Susan is always aware where the weapon is, even if she can't get to it.

Gloria: Crawler:
This custom electric vehicle looks like something out of scifi and is conspicuous enough to turn heads wherever it goes. Every effort has been made to make it self-sufficient: Six huge, military-grade wheels, robust laminate construction, solar panels, bulletproof windows. Inside is a tight and organized arrangement of custom built or modified RV appliances and equipment that are enough to keep a person comfortable, assuming they're not claustrophobic and enjoy a Star Wars aesthetic (Leia is Disney and a princess).

If Susan can get inside, the anti-vampire protections should keep her safe from mundane threats as well. Full-spectrum lights, silver holy symbols inset into the outside panels, messages inset into the glass that say, "KEEP OUT," and the ability to close up the vents to the interior and drive through bodies of water. It's a bit of a fart in a hurricane if a vampire throws a bus at her, but it's a best effort.

Visibility inside is fairly poor, the vehicle is not the least bit inconspicuous, and it's got a top speed of about 40 MPH. On the other hand, it's a whole (cramped) living space inside, a bit of a mobile bunker, can drive underwater, has amazing torque, and the ride is smooth thanks to the oversized tires. Offroading would be a snap!

Technology:
Susan was born in the '90's. She grew up with the internet, cell phones, computers, and other technology. She is quite capable with it, and can summon technological spirits like Alexa, Siri, or Google like the oracle at Delphi. Admittedly, not particularly unique, but modern technology is a powerful tool if used properly.

True Faith:
Holy symbols are only as effective as the faith of the one who holds them. Susan grew up with a Christian father and trusts in Jesus. That faith has been forged through her time as a Jiangshi into something unbreakable. The church is her source of holy water, communion wafers, blessings, hallowed earth, and any other religious items she uses in her anti-vampire fight. Her faith is the source of the power behind such things.

Vampire Hunter's Gear:
While she was never a scout, Susan has found it is best never to be unprepared after she was ambushed by a Jiangshi. She cooks with garlic whenever possible, has garlic cloves in her pockets, packets of dry rice, carries wooden stakes, a pocket bible, and has a variety of silver necklaces showing holy symbols around her neck. She sprinkles her clothes with holy water after washing them and would wash them in holy water if she could get enough of it. She might be paranoid, but she's not going to be surprised unprepared again, at least by vampires.

Weaknesses

Trauma:
Susan has features of PTSD, but not a diagnosis. The experience at the hands of the Jiangshi vampire that ambushed her in China is why she hunts vampires, why she wards herself against vampires, why she never invites anyone inside any building she's in--in short, she's been traumatized, and she's still dealing with that. Her decisions wrap around it, and she may make poor decisions in the face of it.

True Faith:
Jesus warned that the world would hate those who follow him. The true faith that stands behind Susan's holy symbols is noticeable to anything affected by holy energy, good or bad. It makes her an immediate enemy to evil entities and may even make an enemy of undead or demonic heroes. Another downside of using her faith to back holy symbols is that such actions also affect any necromantic creations she's made.
