Alison Blaire is the poster child for American Pop Royalty. Or, that was the goal. Now she's an out and public mutant as well, and that has had some mixed results.

Timeline

Timeline:
1995: Born to Carter and Katherine Blaire in Gardendale, Long Island, New York.
1998: Katherine Blaire leaves Alison with her father Carter and her maternal grandmother, Bella.
2006: Alison began to have dreams of becoming a singer, however her father forced her to focus on academics and give up on her dream.
2008: Alison's powers manifested during a school dance, but she was able to keep them hidden from her father and others after the fact.
2013: While attending college for her undergrad she decided that she was going to return to singing. Underground. Using her powers and disguising them as technology, she began to create a bit of a buzz in New York clubs. The Dazzler is born.
2017: At graduation she told her father No More, and turned her back on her future as a lawyer to embrace being a singer full time. Due to the the buzz she'd generated she drew the attention of the X-Men, although she turned down the invitation to join them she remained on good terms. The Dazzler was gaining in fame, and after signing on with a legit manager she went on tour, leaving New York for the first time.
2018: Alison was not present in New York during Loki?s NY assault, but everything going hugely public is part of what helped convince her to go public with her status as a mutant while working on getting a movie loosely based on her made.
2019-2020: Alison continues to rise in popularity among certain groups, and become a target of protest among others. Frequent attacks and encounters with bad guys has sent her back to the X-Men to accept the offer made years earlier for training and a solid home base.

Driven:
Alison might have once bent to her father's wishes in going to school and focusing on a future as a lawyer, then probably a judge like him, and she pursued that with a drive that launched her to the top of the academic charts. Now she's pushing herself with that same kind of drive in her music career, and for other causes that she believes in, like mutant rights.

Life Is a Stage:
Being famous comes with costs, and one of those costs is that there is little to no time where Alison isn't at risk of being caught in the public eye, or already in the public eye. As such she tends towards comporting herself like someone is always watching. All smiles, never showing tiredness, or the stresses of her career, or weakness.

Optimist:
Even when things are bad there is always going to be a turn around, things will get better. Nothing ever got Alison down for long, even when she encountered bumps in the road that was her path in life, she always looked towards the future and the positive.

Light & Sound Immunity:
Both lights and sounds are things that Alison has found herself to be physiologically immune to. It doesn't matter if she stares into the brightest of lights, her eyes are unharmed, or stands next to a jet engine as it revs up without any ear protection, she doesn't gain any damage to her ears.

Light Projection:
The kinetic energy of sound is converted into lights. Sounds simple enough. The range of things that she can do with these lights isn't fully explored yet, but her most commonly used effects are illumination by causing herself to glow to provide light, sparks and dazzling light displays that can be used to entertain as well as disorient, photon blasts, holograms and lasers.

Sound Absorbtion:
Any sound produced, except coming from her, is sound that Alison is capable of absorbing and storing, or releasing it in controlled ways. The louder and more sustained a sound is, the more energy it provides her for conversion.

Dancing:
In addition to being a singer she is also a trained dancer, and though she relies in choreographers she can at least move to the beat of her own music.

Law:
Behind that dazzling showbiz exterior is the mind of a future lawyer! If her father had any say in the matter, which up until a point, he did. While never formally going to law school she did study pre-law, and grow up the daughter of a judge. She's not defenseless when it comes to legal mumbo jumbo.

Singing:
Alison is a gifted singer, in fact, singing in her something that is part of who she is in addition to being what she does.

X-Men:
Never officially a member of the group she was offered a place with them once, and has always maintained good relations with them ever since. A little tit for tat goes a long way, and she's counting on that connection these days.

Abandonment Issues:
First her mother, then her father. Although, in her father's defense, she pushed him away after he gave her the ultimatum of his way or the highway. Either way, she's got serious abandonment issues that she should probably talk to someone about some day.

Audio Limitation:
Although Alison seems to be capable of taking and absorbing any sound, so far, and converting it into light or releasing it once again as a single burst of sound she has one limitation on source. Herself. Any sound she creates by voice or even the clapping of her own hands is sound that she is unable to absorb and reuse.
