Unhinged from time daughter of the Scarlet Witch and Nightcrawler. Yeah it is as strange as it sounds.
Roughly Twenty Years Ago (Subjectively): Talia Josephine "TJ" Wagner/Lehnsher was born in her reality to the happy couple of Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler and Wanda Maximov/Lehnsher
Childhood: While her parents remained a happy couple, it was easier for Kurt to raise Talia at Xaviers. She grew up around the X-Men and other children at the school under her father's care
Early Teens: Wolverine, possessed by the Shadow King, attacks and fatally wounds Xavier. Wolverine is left a cripple. Cyclops leaves the team blaming Wolverine for both Xavier and later Jean Grey's death. Even though Jean's death was more at Cyclop's feet than anyones. Wolverine steps into the role that Xavier traditionally had as Professor W and Kurt stepped up as field leader for the X-men.
At Fifteen: Talia joined the X-Men under her dad's leadership full time in the field. Facing many of the X-Men's most dangerous foes with Kate Pryde, Thunderbird, Warlock, Psylocke, Phoenix, Aermegeddon, and of course her father. James Proudstar aka Thunderbird and Talia start dating at some point.
At Seventeen: At seventeen years old, Talia is taken by the Timebroker and told she had become "unhinged from time." She is forced to join the eXiles and fix things righting wrongs that have occurred in a multitude of alternative universes or she would be returned to the universe with her own altered. Evidently back home her father was murdered by her grandmother Mystique and everything was wrong.
Until Now: The next several years were spent moving from one reality to the other with the eXiles. Doing their best to right wrongs according to the Tallus and the Timebroker who assured them he was their collective subconscious guiding them along. Talia has been places and seen things. Lots of awful things. She has also been forced to do a lot of things she did not want to or feel right about doing.
Right before Now: After defeating a Vampiric Captain America Vampire Lord the team was betrayed by Ken Critchton aka Union Jack who had assumed the Mantle of Vampire Lord, casting a chaos spell that caused their next trip to go wrong.
Now: Talia has been dumped hard into this reality, which may be the absolute strangest one yet and that is saying something considering the world of Antelope men. She has no idea where the eXiles are or how long she has here before she is pulled back onto the mission or into her original messed up dimension and timeline.
The Wagner girl is all in when it comes to the causes she believes in. This could be Xavier's dream which she grew up entirely enmeshed within or it could be the eXiles mission to fix time and get back home to the people she loves. All in and determined.
Talia cares about people. She cares about the people on her team, around her, and in general. She cares about their feelings, health, well being, and emotions. She is a caring and compassionate individual.
Talia is pretty easy going and optimistic. The treks through the multiverse have been full of grim and dark realities and it hasn't managed to beat this out of her completely. While she may have dark moments she over all has been able to rally and keep her empathy and humor. She definitely has some of the playfulness her father has, probably genetic or osmosis or maybe just nurture.
After several years of subjective time doing really hard things that no one should be asked to do to alternative reality friends, family, and others to save realities from becoming destroyed one starts to get a bit weathered and used to it. Talia may still fundamentally be a hero and has been known to help throw the team at doing the right thing where they can changing a mission in the process from something more grim, but that doesn?t mean it hasn?t at times also taken severe pragmatic decisions.
She also has a very small rebellious streak. Her dad was the field team leader for the X-men where she comes from and rode her pretty hard because he both loved and worried so much about her. That means there were some teenage rebellious acts and she became unstuck from time right in the middle of it all. The nature of the grim mission meant staying dedicated and on task almost all the time but now and then this streak would and will show itself.
Talia's most powerful ace in the hole ability. She has the ability to leap into and possess other people's bodies. The duration of the possession can be pushed all the way up to twelve hours or one lunar cycle. After Talia leaves someone she is possessing they are dazed and often left comatose for up to twenty four hours safely asleep.
Brimstone Hex Bolts:
Talia possesses the superhuman or perhaps supernatural ability to fire energy bolts thanks to her heritage from both of her parents. She has the ability to release concussive bolts of explosive energy. She seems to be channeling the power of the Brimestone Dimension with the added twist of her mother's hexes. The strength and speed of these bolts should not be underestimated and they have been able to defeat power dampening technology due to this.
One of the many traits that Talia got from her father is her agility. It is far more heightened then any normal human being could hope to match. It's not just the years of training by her father or the other X-men that lets him accomplish all that she can. That just serves to make her natural agility that much more useful in various situations. Her reaction time is amazing, allowing her to react to new situations in fractions of seconds at times. She can move with remarkable speed when necessary and navigate even the most narrow of surfaces quickly and safely. She can tumble like it's second nature, no matter how complex a pattern is necessary it seems. She can bend and contort his body in seemingly impossible ways. Obviously, her natural agility comes in handy in a large number of situations.
Another gift from her father and as might be suggested by her bright yellow eyes, Talia is able to see quite clearly in darkness that would be mostly opaque to others. Given her comfort in darkness or shadows that is no real surprise. According to Hank McCoy in her reality she is able to see further into the electromagnetic spectrum than humans can. What she can not do, however, is see in the total absence of light. There needs to be at least some basic illumination for her to see. A partially moonlit night might be as clear as day to her, but if she is underground without any source of exterior illumination to aid her, she would be just as blind as anyone else.
This one is trickier than some of the traits passed down by her father. Like her dad it is frequently overlooked that her tail is prehensile and able to function just as well in essence as another arm. It is also about three and a half feet in length and can grip things as easily as her hands. It can help her climb, hold on to other objects or even be used as another limb when fighting. It is even sensitive enough that she can manipulate a sword with some degree of skill with it. Unlike her father though hers is retractable. No she doesn?t care to explain how or why, must be a second or tertiary mutation.
A combination of her hex powers and telepathy allow Talia to form a shield against psychic attacks. This is her most untrained ability but in a pinch could be exceptionally critical depending on the circumstances.
Talia possesses low level psychic abilities to read minds as well as project thoughts. She has been trained by some of the best in her reality in the use of these abilities even if they are not the strongest.
A combination of micro-suction discs on her hands and feet with the unusual configuration make it much easier for her to climb then ordinary people. So long as there is any sort of surface that she can get a grip on, she can climb quickly and easily. She can also keep her grip for prolonged periods without any difficulty, further aiding her in climbing, regardless of how sheer a surface. Unlike her father she does adhere to surfaces however and as such she can climb smooth surfaces as long as they are not particularly slippery.
When it comes to acrobatics, whether of the aerial variety or tumbling on the ground, only her father and maybe Nightwing is better than she is. On the most basic level, like her father she has been blessed with a physiology that is almost perfectly designed for tumbling and high wire work. She is strong, but compact and has a natural agility that far surpasses what most normal people could ever be capable of. And if that were not enough, the unique way in which her hands and feet are formed let her clutch and cling much easier then she would with more normal limbs. Then, on top of all of that, she has a retractable prehensile tail that serves every bit as good as an extremely nimble third arm while also helping to give her greater than normal balance. All that alone would make her a pretty formidable acrobat. Thanks to being her father's daughter she also combines all of that natural ability with years of training by her father into a package that is pretty hard to beat. She is as comfortable flying through the air on the trapeze as other people might be walking. She can negotiate the most narrow of surfaces with little problems in keeping her balance, and do so quickly and surely. She can climb like no one else and thanks to the microsuction aberration in her mutation she may even be able to give Spider-Man a wall run for his money. She is just as adept at tumbling on the ground, using flips and jumps with perfect ease. This is great because unlike her father she can?t teleport which means these skills are critical to get her out of danger. She is exceedingly adept at avoiding attacks by simply dodging them.
Knowledge of the big "What Ifs" people wonder about and worry in the dark of night. What if Iron Man was evil and conquered the world. What is Doctor Doom and Reed Richards switched places. What if the heroes were Vampires, Zombies, etc. What if Loki had conquered the world with his Frost Giants. She has spent years hopping often daily between broken realities trying to set things right. Her team has been armed with a Tallus that has knowledge of the people they are interacting with in those dimensions and their missions. She has seen some of the most pivotal events in superhuman society history first hand go catastrophically awry.
OOC: For Reasons of Game Balance and Plot this knowledge will be limited to events that either have already happened in this game or have little to no chance of happening in this game. Timeline for the game and characters should be consulted. When in doubt staff should be checked in with via +job to make sure having some knowledge of XYZ events or history is okay.
Trained by her dad and the other X-Men she was the pilot for the team back home and also the most experienced one on the eXiles. She has a good deal of natural talent for it as well thanks to her mutant enhanced reflexes. She can't teleport like her dad or fly like some of her teammates so this became her gig before she became unstuck in time.
Trained since birth really. As soon as it made sense her family and extended X-Family helped make sure that Talia could defend herself. She is in excellent shape, physically fit and a superior athlete gifted with superhuman reflexes and agility. Coupling that with years of training with some of the most gifted hand-to-hand fighters in the world, like Uncle Logan before he was crippled, and the others in the X-Men means she has long since learned how to take care of himself in a fight. She also had the benefit of the fact her father essentially had put together his own fighting style that relies heavily on their agility and acrobatic ability. While she doesn?t have his teleportation powers she was able to combine that with the other training and become quite formidable in her own right.
She wouldn't be her father's daughter if she didn?t know how to use a sword. She isn?t the swashbuckler he is though. Talia?s ability to use hexbolts means she leaned on that much more than she did on melee weaponry. Still years of training in the subject means she knows how to use the sharp pointy end of a blade.
Talia grew up in Xaviers. She has survival training. First Aid. Use of special x-men equipment, computers, etc. Very good if eccentric education through high school and in some topics beyond. She learned from the various X-men and teachers all sorts of useful subjects.
Unstuck From Time:
She has no job. She has no home. She can't be sure the people she is familiar with here are anything like the ones back home. That is all likely to resolve or change pretty quickly when rubber hits the road but it can't be taken for granted as established fact.
Her body possession is limited. There is a limited duration on how long she can possess someone of course. It used to be that she could only possess one person in a day. She has grown past that but she still can't possess an unlimited number of people in a row in a day. The use of this ability is taxing both mentally and physically on Talia.
Talia has seen some seriously bad shit over the last three years. This is saying something since she grew up in Xaviers and as one Colossus once said, Mansion Blowing up Builds Character. Even compared to Apocalypse and all the wild stuff the X-Men had to deal with back home, the multiverse is staggering. She has lost multiple teammates in horrible ways as they struggled to put right what once went wrong on countless worlds. There has been deep personal loss of lovers and even one unborn child. She probably needs some therapy.
Unhinged From Time:
The only good thing is Talia doesn't appear to be aging any longer. The list of bad things is a mile long. As far as she is aware if she doesn?t keep playing the reality hopping game with the Time Broker of hide and seek with her reality until enough realities are fixed she will get pulled back into her broken reality. So even though time doesn't apply normally to Talia as far as she is aware the clock is ticking. This is actually probably not entirely true as the Time Broker is lying to those on the mission. Her home reality is messed up but she isn?t going to be sucked back automatically because the mission takes too long. This doesn't alleviate the anxiety and mental strain that being stuck in this reality is likely to have as time goes on. Also she deeply misses her family.
