The daughter of a Professor at Columbia and a Japanese woman, Collen found herself being raised in the mountains of Honshu, Japan by her grandfather after the untimely death of her mother. Taught in multiple martial arts forms, the young woman found herself in New York City looking for her father. Recruited by The Hand, she was a member for a while, using her dojo (Chikara Dojo) as a Hand recruiting center. It took Danny Rand to make her see the light and leave The Hand, now doing what she can to bring the organization she once belonged to onto its knees. What does the future hold for the young woman? Will The Hand finally get its revenge on her? Time will tell.

Timeline:
~ 1996(August 23rd): Colleen is born in Honshu, Japan to Lee Wing (Columbia professor) and Azumi Ozawa.

~ 2001: Colleen loses her mother to an unknown assailant and is sent to live with her grandfather (Kenji Ozawa.) in the mountains of Honshu.

~ 2001-2013: Colleen is trained in the art of the Samurai, the Ninja, as well as the Bushido Code. She is also given her grandfather's prized sword; the Ozawa Katana.

~ 2013 (Early): Kenji Ozawa is murdered by Hong Kong Crime lord Emil Vachon.

~ 2013 (Late): Colleen makes her way to New York City where her father lived and was a professor.

~ 2014: Already on The Hands radar, the young woman still trying to settle in NYC is approached and recruited by Bakuto. She open her own dojo: Chikara Dojo

~ 2014-2016: Using her Dojo as a front, Collen recruits and trains recruits for The Hand with the promising of showing them a path and a better life.

~ 2016: Colleen is instructed to meet up and try and recruit Danny Rand by The Hand's orders. Danny eventually discovers her allegiance and through their desire to destroy him, her eyes are opened to their true purpose.

~ 2018: Colleen is a part of the Battle of New York, joining Danny and his companions in trying to protect the streets of the city from the invaders.

~ 2019 to Present: Colleen has committed herself to take down The Hand along with Danny and the Defenders. Her inside knowledge has been invaluable.

Caring(Compassion):
A trait usually seen, but not spoken of by the young woman. She is not quick to express her caring side verbally, but her actions betray her. Colleen has a soft spot for those she holds dear to her and would die for them. All they have to do is ask for her assistance and she most certainly will be there. She has always wanted to help people better their lives, often offering free lessons to the less fortunate or children at her dojo.

Disciplined:
Through years of training and perhaps just her given personality, Collen seldom shows anger and expresses a level of calmness one might not expect from her. It is very rare, if ever, that Colleen loses her temper and acts without thought. Ask anyone if they have ever heard her yell out in anger, if you can find anyone who has.

Fearless:
There is little that colleen fears, often putting her own safety in jeopardy if need be. Those around her and the mission are more important to her than her own well-being and she will do what needs to be done to ensure success. However, the disciplined woman usually does so with calculated thought driving her actions if permitted to do so.

Outwardly Distant:
Outwardly Distant: To many it can appear that Colleen is distant and socially inept. Truth be told, this is a young woman who keeps herself guarded to those who are not close to her. Her stoic and sometimes stern responses are often misconstrued, but they have kept people alive.

Protective:
Anyone who knows Colleen knows her to be a very protective young woman of those people and ideas she holds dear to her heart. If anyone she cares for is in danger or needs her assistance, she will not think twice about offering her help. She can always be counted on to be there should someone need her.

Athlete:
Collen is a well-trained athlete and can compete on a strength and stamina level of someone of Oylmpic caliber. She also has the acrobatic skills of an Olympic gymnast.

Instructor:
It takes a certain peraon to be able to instruct and teach in a way that people can learn; Colleen has that skill. Call it her approach, call it patience, Colleen is able to teach so that people can learn. This also extends far beyond martial arts as well.

Master Martial Artist:
Colleen is trained in many different martial arts forms and has achieves mastery status in all of them. Some of the forms she has mastery in are:

Karate: A Japanese striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques such as knife-hands, spear-hands and palm-heel strikes.

Jujutsu: A Japanese method of fighting that makes use of few or no weapons and employs holds, throws, and paralyzing blows to subdue an opponent. Often it compliments sword usage.

Kempo: A Japense form that is a no holds barred fighting system of offensive and defensive methods, with equal emphasis of striking techniques with the hands and feet, immobilization and controls, projections and take downs; as well as weaponry.

Kenjutsu: In a nutshell, a Japanse form of swordsmanship training specifically.

Multilingualism:
Collen is fluent in Jpanese as well as English. She also has a limited ability in Mandarin (Chinese), but not enought to feel comfortable in conversation or translating it.

Sword Mastery:
Colleen is a master swordswoman. Her Kenjutsu training from her grandfather has seen to that. She is considered a specialist with the Katana, in which is her weapon of choice. It is said that there are very few people that can match her skill with a blade and her reputation with the katana is widely known.

Chikara Dojo:
Employment, home and a place of safe refuge, the Dojo is dear to Colleen. The building itself is not technically hers, but at the same time she is the heartbeat of the dojo. It is where she makes a living and teaches her students, providing her great joy a sense of satisifaction.

Connections:
Through her years of running the Dojo and being in the martial arts world, Collen has developed a lot of connections. These connections extend beyond somple martial aritsts, but also to business types and the sort. You never know when you need to call in a favor and she certainly has earned a few (if a connection is needed in a specific area, staff will be contacted).

Danny & the Defenders:
Everyone needs friends and those members of the Defenders and especially Danny are hers. She can depend on them to be there in times of trouble and the can depend on her. There is no better resource than those you can rely on to be there when needed and everything they can bring to your aid.

Grandfather's Katana:
The family blade that was given to her by the man who trained her and started her on her path. It is said the katana is over 600 years old and is usually always at her side and especially when going into battle.

Bury That Past:
Colleen has done things she regrets. Things at the time she thought were in the right, but that she sees clearly were wrong. She has killed and she has caused a lot of pain and suffering, suffering she now sees did not have to happen. Colleen lives by a code of honor, but it is a code of honor now that has been altered do to her "awakening".

I'd Die For You:
Colleen has certain people in her life that she considers family. They are really the only family she has and she would do anything for them. It is part of her belief and personality that she will be there for them in any situation no matter how bad it is. This has put her in some difficult situations and caused her to think with her heart over her head, but it is something her training and discipline cannot control.

Powerful Enemy(The Hand):
When you used to be a part of The Hand, recruited for The Hand and fought for The Hand...then turned your back on The Hand, you have made a very powerful enemy. In helping Danny escape and then siding with him to take them down, Colleen has made a very strong enemy, an enemy that seeks to destroy her.

Can You Spare a Dime:
Colleen does not have much money, plain and simple. She runs the Chikara Dojo, but many of her students cannot afford to pay always and she is not one to turn them away. This low income status has caused her to seek other means of income, which has included underground cage fights.

Only Human:
Colleen is only a human with no special reistances or enhancements. A far fall could kill her as could a bullet or a soda machine falling on her.
